October, another good month, fall is good, less ridable days but many more good days

October 1, 2001- end of a Big Northeaster with the winds switching NNW, too much of a drift for most places but up the island was perfect

October 2, 2001- clean morning leftovers

October 3, 2001- our new sandbar, Montauk lost all its sand and we got it all, forming shallow sandbars a long paddle out

October 6, 2001- Strong West Winds

October 18, 2001-Main Beachs beginning point is starting 2 show

October 26, 2001-decent

October 27, 2001- Homecoming Day, perfect longboard waves off Georgica Jetty about stomach-high maybe +, no one really out , mini-J-BAY right groundswell

October 30, 2001- freak swell, 5 feet at 13 seconds out of nowhere. Turtles was doubl overhead, Trailer Park was long barrels, but I surfed Main Beach Pipeline, unmakeablely fast but otherwise would be perfect lefts
