Dayle was born and bred in Pallahade and was one of the many young folk to climb nearby trees and stare wistfully at the unicorn herd at the Academy and to one day dream the impossible dream of bonding with one.

She was fortunate to catch the attention of a Private Carrel at a recruitment posting in Pallahade and was given a chance of a place as a student recruit. It wasn't long into her training that a magical talent manifested itself to her and her teachers. She found herself gifted with a fairly strong magical empathy. Though a most useful talent, it did bring with it a high price - for unicorns seldom Bond with humans bearing a magical taint.

After completing her training, Dayle spent much of her early years out of the Academy on various missions and circuits.

She was wed to an Uen Roug yearmate, named Lorcan. It was a marriage born out of close friendship and was a happy one. Lorcan and his earth-ills sensing Bonded, Terra were tragically killed in action in 99 ADT.

Their son was named for his father and Academy reared. His closeness to the young unicorns seems to decree that he will follow in his father's footsteps rather than his mother's.

After Lorcan's death, stricken with grief and with a young child to rear, it suited Dayle to remain at the Academy in a teacher's role. Her empathic talents again have proved useful in this field of work.

Dayle is now approaching her mid-thirties and has never remarried. While fully aware of the high risks that go with the responsibility of this life serving the Academy, she has never really got over the loss of the man who was her husband and her best-friend.

She also acknowledges it unlikely now that she will ever Bond with a unicorn. While philosophical about this, it is a cause of lingering regret to her. It has not stopped her however from taking a full role at the Academy as a magic-talented Wyn. Now that Lorcan is a little older she does take on missions once more - primarily local runs and diplomatic missions.

Despite the losses of her early hopes, Dayle is overall a happy person who is dedicated to her son and to the ideal of the Academy. Her face is a familiar one to anyone long at the Academy as she goes out of her way to make the acquaintance of any and all of the students. She works closely in particular with all new recruits, using her talents to help place each one where best suited by their abilities.

She teaches Leadership and Basic Uen Operations but has spent considerable time in recent years on the administration tasks of keeping the Academy running.  Additionally, she is often involved in the initial processing of new recruits.
