Emma and Sunny were lieutenants of the Watchmount Class of 70 ADT when they were killed in 96 ADT on a mission with Alex and Patch.  They were found by lumberjacks near the Groley Woods area and appeared to have been killed by wild beasts.  When Wyn returned to the area a week later, they sensed the small remnant of some magic, though it was too faint to tell what type or how powerful it had been.

Emma was born in ST of 50 ADT in Isod's Tip.  She lived a normal, happy childhood with dreams of joining the Academy.  Those dreams were fulfilled in FW of 64 ADT when she did join.  She was a solid student, both in studies and in fighting and it was not a surprise when she bonded in late Ombra of 69 ADT.  Emma was an outgoing, adventurous young woman with a head full of ideals and a heart full of justice.  It was a surprise, then, that she and Alex started dating seriously in 67 ADT and were married in 70 ADT just after Emma and Sunny returned from Training Circuit.  However, the young couple were happy and when Alex bonded in 71 ADT, their own bond grew even stronger.

Emma gave birth to Rowan in 72 ADT and named her best friend and 'cha-mate, Osuega, as the Roug mother.  Emma and Alex spent all of 73 ADT at the Academy with their child, and then Alex and Patch were sent out on duty.  When Rowan turned six, her mother was sent out on short assignments as well, leaving her child with Osuega or one of the Academy teachers.  Rowan grew up under the watchful eye of most of the unicorns, as well as many of the teachers and the Commander.  Emma spent the years from 73-78 ADT doing administrative work, but she was never satisfied unless she was out in the field.  Her desire to always be on missions caused the most arguments in an otherwise happy relationship with Alex.  Emma has an older sister who she was never very close to, and who only occasionally makes visits to the Academy to see Rowan.

Emma was 5'6", with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes, was usually smiling.

Sunny was born at the Academy in 65 ADT.  A bright, bubbling personality, it was easy to name this 'corn.  Sunny always had a kind word and an eager laugh, and looked for the silver lining in every dark cloud. She complemented Emma's adventurous nature well, and the pair loved to travel.  She never took a mate and left no foals behind when she died.  She considered Rowan as her own child, and Rowan always felt she had two mothers, and two fathers.

Her talent was the ability to find the other half of a broken object, no matter where it was.  If it had been completely destroyed, she brought back whatever minute particles were left.  An odd power, but when put together with her brother, they complemented each other well.  The elders found it fortuitous that they bonded with Alex and Emma.

Sunny had a bright yellow coat with a white mane and tail.  14 h, Academy-born, was 31 in 96 ADT when she died.
