Lucas Sharpe
Lucas was born on 5 Ombra, 82 ADT to a tavern barmaid in Rin Caad who went only by the name of Lilly. His father was never determined to anyone's satisfaction and Lilly never told the same name twice. It was clear, however, that she was not ready to be saddled with a baby and passed off her son to the other tavern ladies for care when 'business' called, sometimes forgetting about her son for days at a time.
On Lucas' eighth birthday, the tavern where he and his mother were living burned to the ground. The fast acting fire raised many suspicions, but due to the seedy nature of the business, it was not investigated and no one mourned the deaths of the sleeping residents. No one. Not even the small boy who had snuck out of his bedroom window earlier that night to break into the house of his mother's partner for the evening. A job that the lad was well accustomed to doing.
Frightened and alone, Lucas spent the next couple of months breaking and entering into people's homes, watching a target until he was sure that they were gone and the place left unoccupied- long enough for him to get inside and steal food and small amounts of currency. At each residence, the child would take out a small, dirty book of parchment that he would scribble two notes on. The first note was ripped out of the book and placed in the exact spot that he had removed his necessary items from with the child's scrawled words "Im sry I wil pay u bak sum day I promis". While the remaining note was kept safe inside the small book and contained the name of the people he had robbed, what street their home was located on and the items that he had relieved them of.
The boy spent his nights huddled inside a woolen blanket amidst the dust and rubble of an old building not far from where the tavern had stood. By day he made plans for his future. One day, he would become something special and he would repay all of those people that he had hurt.
One evening, about three months after his mother had died, Lucas was climbing into the house of his newest target and found a blade to his throat. It had only been a matter of time before word would get out about the break-ins and the scribbled apologies left at the scene of the crimes. People were on the alert and this man in particular was ready for the youngster. In fact, he had been following the boy's progress as he made his way through the lower district in a pattern of attacks that soon followed a predictable path. At least it did to the aging thief who had caught the lad.
Cromwell took the boy in, seeing a kindred spirit in the small thief and he introduced Lucas to the motley, close-knit group of orphans that he had under his wing. Boys and girls that had no homes and had had no one but themselves to care for them. His new charge fit right in, but only on the surface.
For the next six years, Cromwell taught Lucas and all of 'his children' everything that he knew about the life of thieving and the art of stealth, weapons, fighting in close combat situations and even a special form of primarily defensive martial arts.
But Lucas never forgot who he was or where he had come from and his habit of leaving apologies remained his calling card. And so it was that the young teenager happened to take particular interest in the Uen Roug, often just sitting across the street of the local Chapter House and Roug Headquarters for hours at a time, watching the comings and goings of people. He started to day dream about one day becoming a Uen Roug Officer and paying back all of those that he had taken from.
And Cromwell Sharpe never missed a beat.
Though not surprised by his most adept pupil's desire to join the elite Uen Roug Force, Cromwell was nonetheless unhappy about Lucas' decision and told him so when the boy finally could stand it no longer and informed his 'family' of his choice. No one could persuade the strong willed teenager however, and he promised them that he would keep in regular contact with them all and packed up his meager belongings.
Lucas was pleasantly surprised and touched when his mentor offered to escort him to the Chapter House and handed him over to the Roug as the boy's uncle and sole living relative. Less than a week later, at 14 years of age in 96 ADT, Lucas Sharpe was enrolled and on the student roster at the Uen Roug Academy in Pallahade.
Lucas studied hard and impressed his teachers and instructors, especially the Armsmaster and his Close Combat Instructor. Also very gifted in his art classes but miserable when it came to Ethics and Drama. He was friendly and driven by his own secret goal to pay back all of the people in his little book tucked at the bottom of his clothes chest. So it was no surprise to anyone, except for he himself, when he Bonded five years later to the taciturn wildborn, Void, at 19 years old.
Lucas and Void had their Y'Cha in 101 ADT, Graduating with the Crystal Class. They went on their First Circuit the day after their Graduation and have been in the field ever since, until only just recently.
Lucas and Void recieved their Lieutenant Rank in 107 ADT and returned to the Academy in 111 to assist the current Armsmaster, Lt. Coul MacFinn. Void likewise began to assist Coul's Bonded Tempest, the Unicorn Close Combat and Horn-fencing Instructor.
29 years old in 111 ADT, Lucas paints models as a hobby. Since returning tothe Academy, he has taken up art once more, sitting in on Lt. Daenara Riordan's lessons when he can find the time. One of his true personality quirks is his tendency to be far too apologetic if he fears he has offended someone, a trait that his Bonded finds particularly annoying. He has also stayed in close contact over the many years, with Cromwell, who is now retired and still very fond and proud of 'his boy'.
Skilled in martial arts, close combat and weapons.

Void
Bonded: Lucas Sharpe
Graduating Class: Crystal Class of
101 ADT
Sire: ?
Dam: ?
Siblings: ?
mate: n/a
progeny: n/a
birthdate: 95 ADT
location: Wildborn
sex: male
height: 17h
color: Deep black with feathers, dull silver horn.
build: muscular
talent: Opens up a void or black hole in the atmosphere that works like a vacuum, pulling things within the vicinity into it's nothingness. A dangerous talent. It is presumed that the void is more like a rip in the fabric of the dimensional space existing between the world and the Nether, therefore the assumption remains that whatever is sucked into the void is being deposited into the Netherrealm.
Void has not yet been able to bring anything back from it's displacement, therefore it is debated as to whether or not he can even do it. This is a real sore point for the stallion and it keeps him from using his talent altogether unless he has no other alternative.
history & personality: Wildborn in 95 ADT, Void was always a steadfast and quiet colt. Never outspoken or brazen, the young black watched and listened and became increasingly more frustrated with the herd's stance on the relationship that 'corns should have with the humans in the name of the Greater Good. It was eventually clear to the stallion that his place was not among his herd any longer.
Void weighed his choices very carefully, balancing his decision and in the end deciding for the Academy's goals. He joined the Uen Roug Academy in 99 ADT, at 4 years of age and only two years later, Bonded to Lucas and Graduated in 101 ADT with the Crystal Class.
During his two years at the Academy, Void created quite the stir. His power was a particularly dangerous one that caused much debating among the Elders and staff alike. However, it was his very appearance that caused the most uproar within the unicorn and student population. Mares went knock-kneed when he happened by, stallions unconsciously puffed their chests and the two-leggeds dreamed of having such a powerful, mysterious Bonded. Not everyone was pleased to see him Bond and leave the Academy, and many fillies eagerly awaited his return.
16 years old in 111 ADT, Void is a stern tactician, skilled in Close Combat and horn-fencing. He is a steady and powerful fighter. He doesn't always understand his Bonded's obsessive need to apologize for any imagined slight and though he feels that Lucas' goal to pay back all of the individuals that he has taken from in the past a noble one, he nonetheless feels as though sometimes Lucas lets it become far too important. An opinion he shares with the aging Cromwell.
