CHOKHIPOH & NECTAR DRAGONS
At first, the bright colouring of the Chokhipoh makes it seem an easy
target for predators however the gold yellow of it's scales allow it to
hide well in the dry grasses and the wheat and oat fields it hunts in.
The
Chokhipoh's diet mainly consists of grasshopper, locusts and other
crop eating insects. Chokhipohs are also exceedingly fond of berries and
are often kept as pets by farm children, eating any moths that find their
way
into the house (some parent's actually encourage their children to
tame Chokhipoh's as it stops the linen being nibbled and disuades mice).
It is not until about fifth glance that the observer realised that these
amazing reptiles are hexapedal. They are the only six legged lizards known
to exist and are extremely swift.
Nectar Dragons are well know by fruit farmers and are also known as
Luck Dragons though they are only lizards and not the flame breathing reptiles
of legend. As their name suggests Nectar Dragons diet mainly consists of
nectar, usually from fruit blossoms (which is richer and sweeter), their
eating habits help pollinate the blossoms and they are encouraged by fruit
farmers because their diet greatly increases the yield of the orchard not
only due to pollenation but because the lizards have a taste for fruit
fly and other crop endangering insects. Because of their constant need
for fresh nectar (rather like a terran humming-bird) Nectar Dragons are
very rarely kept as pets.
