PIPER
Gentle and kind spirited Piper was found as a young foal near the foot of the Khalakopf by a hunter and his son. His dam had wandered to far from the herd to foal and had been attacked by a pack of wild animals, who slew her before she could call for help. She did, however, have time to use her talent of projected camouflage to protect her colt, who was shivering by her side in the night air when the hunter came upon him. He was brought to the Academy soon after and raised with the other foals, though he never mindspoke much and refused to participate in battle exercises. He is still a quiet corn, though he is known throughout the Academy for his kind deeds and willingness to help others, even at his own expense. He abhors violence, however, and is a resolute pacifist. This has caused some problems concerning his duty as a Roug, but not even the Elders have been able to sway him from his mindset. His talent, however - that of lulling others to a sort of trancelike state with music he produces from his horn, has given them hope concerning his ability to hold his own in battle. Piper seems to never anger, is quick to lend compassion, and is able to see both sides of any situation and is a popular mediator among the Academy students. He is mistrustful, however, of those who question him too much about his past, and of those who are associated closely with weapons or fighting.
