Dancing
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Dancing is a slave's ultimate expression of fire, passion and beauty. Learn to dance well and you will be a prized and sought after slave who can always please others. Dancing is your way of showing your creativity and expressing your inner self.

•Basic Tips•

Dances should be between 10 and 15 posts long.
Do not bore a Free by dancing on forever, but don't make it so short it seems over before it started.

Each post should be betwen 3 and 6 lines long.
Not too short to get lost in the scroll and not too long to bore those watching.

Script the dance ahead of time.
Dances are the only part of your service that you are allowed to write out ahead of time and copy/paste at the time of the dance. This reflects the thought and planning that goes into the choreography of any good dance. Be aware at any time you might be told to dance...even if you do not have a dance written.

Each posting should be between 60 and 70 seconds apart.
Think about the timing of posts when dancing. If there is too much time in between posts, the audience may lose interest. The best thing to do is to read the posts yourself as you post them. This will allow you to keep track of time, and you may also find something to improve in your dance.

Make your posts visually appealing.
Think of ways to make your posts visually apealling. Think of ways to creatively use colors. Perhaps find a special avatar just for dancing. Rather than a long string of text, think about breaking the post into short lines so it appears as poetry. Use your creativity, but don't go overboard. Do not do so much visually that it detracts from the content of the dance.

Dances are expressions of emotion.
Dances are not just movements. Remember to add feelings and music to the posts while you dance. Give the Mistress something to focus on, give Her feelings to remember.

Structure your dances well.
Have a definite beginning and closing to the dance. Along the way be very clear on where you are and what you are where are doing. Remember that those who watch do not read minds, so try to be very clear on what you are doing.

•Scripting the Dance •

It can be difficult to put your ideas on paper. You may only have some vague ideas and a order of events in mind, but that is all you need. Think of dancing and choreography as painting, or telling a story. The dance can be a "book dance", one that is described in the books of Gor. Or it can be a theme you develop on your own. Be creative. Follow these easy steps and you will have a dance ready in no time.

1) Decide on a theme for the dance.
Think about the basic concept of the dance. Will it be a pole dance, chain dance, belt dance, need dance or endless other possibilities?

2) Sketch out the idea in several steps.
Lay out the basic flow of the dance in several short steps. Think about the story you want to tell with the dance and sketch out an outline.

3) Fill in the descriptions.
For each step in the outline, flesh it out with descriptions. Describe the movements and poses of the dance. Be sure to include your feelings and emotions, as well as your actions. Don't forget to include descriptions of the music that goes with your dance.

4) Polish the descriptions.
Go back through the basic desriptions and add appropriate adjectives and adverbs. Bring fire and spark to the actions and feelings. Polish the movements and poses that make up the dance. Make it all beautiful, flowing, sensuous and inticing.

5) Arrange the dance into posts.
You may find that one post is not enough to flesh out one of the steps in your outline. That is fine. Simply break it up into two or more posts. But be careful to not get bogged down in too much detail. Let each post flow from one to another. Try to make each post a complete thought and action. Always read your dance to yourself out loud. See if it makes sense and flows together. You may have to add an transitional post to link the other posts together. Finally, spell check your text. Nothing will distract more from a beautiful dance than spelling words wrong.

Structure of the Dance
Think of the dance as a story told through music, movement and choreography. Give the dance a definite structure so the audience can follow the story easily. All dances should have the following parts. Each part can be made up of several posts.

Beginning
This is a clear sign that the dance has begun. Be sure to describe the setting where you are, your appearance, what you are wearing, the atmospere and the character of the music. Make it clear what the theme of the dance is.

Build up
Take the dance and the story though a definite progression of events. The intensity of the dance should build gradually from beginning to end. Perhaps in the beginning the dancer is punished, the begs forgiveness, then submits for the pleasure of the Master, then acts out such pleasure, building to the climax.

Climax
This is the pinnacle of the dance, where the story of the dance is realized. This is usually one or two posts from the end of the dance. Here the intensity of the dance is at its peak The movements emotions of the dancer can be wild and savage, at their most sensuous. It is common for the dancer to actually display an orgasm in this climax.

End Post
The last post needs to be a very clear sign that the dance has ended. The dancer should come to rest, with emotions fulfilled. The music should stop. It should be clear to the audience the dance is over. Nothing is worse than finishing a dance and having the audience quiet and waiting for the next post. The last post should drive the audience to beat their right fist against their left shoulder in Gorean applause.

•More Tips•

Always dance from the heart.
Dance what you feel and describe it. Let others know your passions, your joy, your pain and sorrow. A dance should affect and touch all who watch. Drawn them into it.

Be original and creative.
A dance is a personal expression. You have no need to copy another. Even if the dance has been danced a thousand times before, make the dance your own. Claim it, body and soul.

Be sexy, sensual and erotic.
This is one of the reasons why the Frees watch. They like to see the slave's expression of sexuality. You can be as blatant and lustful as you like. This does not mean you MUST be "slutty". Not all dances are heated and that is fine. For every heated dance there is one that is not heated and they all are wonderful.

Be Realistic.
Think about what is physically possible. Keep the movements and poses realistic. Think about the flow and continuity from one movement to the next. Think about what can be shown through movements and facial expressions without speaking, and stick to that. Don't fill the dance with a lot of thoughts that are in your head. The audience can not see your thoughts, unless you act them out or show them on your face.

Always consider improvements.
Don't be afraid to go back and add or subtract things each time you perform a dance. A dance is a living thing, forever being modified.

Get other's opinions.
Show your dance to your sisters or brothers and get their opinion. But be warned, if you ask for an opinion, expect an honest answer. Remember, if your sisters or brothers don't like the dance, it is only the dance they are critiquing, not you personally.

If you feel you need to see an actual dance before you can do the homework then speak up and ask your trainer or a slave that you are sure knows how to dance

***please do the homework in a timely fashion***
