Eve 7:00 AM
Cut to Eve's bedroom. Pan over to her alarm clock turning from 6:59 to 7:00 it begins to make a beeping noise. Eve's hand slams down on the alarm clock turning it off. Pan over to Eve as she sits up in bed and stretches. She gets up out of bed and goes in to the bath room.

Time elapses and Eve comes out of the bathroom, hair wet. She is dressed in jeans, a blue tank top and a white zip up hoodie. She ties her hair in a bun before walking out of her room.

Cut to her kitchen. She sticks a piece of bread in the toaster and gets a plate and juice out while she sits on a stool. She props her head on her hands and closes her eyes. She jumps when the toast pops up. She sighs

Jeff - 7:30AM
Cut to Jeff's bedroom in his apartment. Pan over to his radio alarm clock turning from 7:29 to 7:30.

Radio/alarm - WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO - GO!

Jeff falls out of bed startled by the sound. Groggily he reaches up behind him and and turns off the radio

Jeff - There is nothing worse than waking up to "Wham"

Jeff stands up and turns around to see the time on his clock. His eyes bulge open

Jeff - OH NO!! I HAVE TO BE AT WORK IN 30 MINUTES!

Jeff grabs his clothes and runs in to the bathroom. Time elapses. He runs out of the bathroom with his shirt and tie on but he's still hopping to get his pants on. He hops out of his room

Cut to Jeff's kitchen. He runs in with his pants on and now he's doing up his belt buckle. He opens his fridge and grabs a pop tart. He sticks it in his mouth as he pins on his badge, gets his gun and pulls on his shoes

Alex - 7:00AM
Alarm goes off. Alex's hand reaches out and slams down on the snooze button

Alarm goes off. Alex's hand reaches out and slams down on the snooze button

Alarm goes off. Alex turns over with a vicious snarl on her face. Her hand glows blue and she slams down on the alarm clock flattening it. She then rolls over and goes back to sleep

Split to a three section screen. Eve's in the first section, Jeff's in the middle and Alex is on the end.

Eve - (sigh) Another day . . .

Jeff - (mouth full of pop tart) Another dollar

Alex - (SNORES)

Eve - 7:45AM
Cut to Eve kneeling in front of her Eli shrine

Eve - Eli, as another day begins I forever look toward your teachings to guide me in the way of love and give me strength to walk your path. I ask you to protect my friends and I as we take on the dangers of the night and trials of the day.

Jeff - 7:50AM
Cut to Jeff in his car driving

Jeff - Please don't let me be late for work. Please don't let me be late for work. If there is a GOD please don't let me be late for work.

Alex - 8:10AM
Cut to Alex storming out of her bathroom, hair wet, in jeans and a bra. She pulls on a gray tank as she walks out of her room. Her feet get tangled in a wet towel and she falls flat on her face

Alex - (as she gets up and storms out of her room) Stupid f@#$* thing! What the freaking hell is that doing there! (picks up the towel and throws it) WHY THE F@*# IS THERE A 8:00 IN THE MORNING !?(looks up to the ceiling) THERE SHOULD BE A LAW YOU KNOW!!!

Eve 8:10AM
Cut to downstairs in the centre. James walks in and puts his stuff behind the counter. He opens up the till to count the money and Eve walks in from the backroom. She stops short for a second seeing James who also looks at Eve. She puts her head down and walks by him. It's an awkward moment for both.

Eve - Hi

James - Hey

Eve - (looking around for something to do and looks at James counting the money) Do you need any help with that?

James - No, I'm good

There is a silence and Eve lets out a sigh. That's when James turns to her.

James - We go through this every morning. I hate this. I hate us not talking. I want things to be how they used to be. I want to get back together.

Eve looks startled by his candid confession

James - Eve, say something

Eve - (takes a breath) I'm sorry James I can't. You know how I feel about you but right now I need to focus on a way to defeat Thuvan and save Craig's soul

James - Oh. (turns back to the money)

Cut to inside the Police station. Jeff runs in the door

Jeff - YES! Just made it!

Police Captain walks by

Captain - Your 10 minutes late Morrison!

Jeff - Damn

Alex 9:10AM
Cut to the centre as Alex walks in by James and Eve who are already busy with the crowd

Eve - You're late

Alex - Bite me.

Eve 10:00AM
Eve walks over to Alex who is at the counter filling out a new membership for a customer

Eve - James said you wanted to see me

Alex - Yeah (nods her head over to a kid at far corner of the centre) See that kid. He came in here yesterday also. He just sits there sulking. Maybe you can talk to him and see what's up. I bet he could use a little Eve magic.

Eve - It's not magic but you’re right. I'll go see what I can do.

Eve walks over to the kid who is in oversized pants and hooded sweater. He see Eve coming over and tries to look for a way out. Eve just walks over and just sits beside resting her elbows on her knees looking nonchalant.

Eve - Hey.

The kid sighs and leans his back to the wall.

Kid - Are you going to throw me out?

Eve - Why would I want to do that?

Kid - Cause I'm loitering right?

Eve - (shakes her slightly) Naw. Centre's open to everybody. You only have to pay if you want food or get a membership to use the equipment. Do you?

Kid - (shakes his head) I don't have any money

Eve - Then your free to hang out here. What's your name?

Kid - Matt Walker

Eve - (holds out her hand) Nice to meet you Matt. I'm Eve (Matt shakes her hand)

Eve - Do you want to get together with some of the kids and play some games

Matt - (shakes his head) Naw I'm just here to get away from my brother

Eve - Why would you want to do that?

Matt - He's a jerk. He hangs around with guys who make him do stuff.

Eve - (Moves to kneel in front of him) What kind of stuff?

Matt - I don't know if I should . . .

Eve - I can see that it's bothering you. I'll understand if you don't want to tell me but it might help if you get it off your chest.

Matt - (whispers while looking around wearily) They make him snort stuff and steal things. I . .. I 've seen him do it. He doesn't know I watch but if he finds out I know he'll . . .

Eve - (stops him) I know this is pretty scary stuff but your brother is in trouble. You've been very strong to avoid those kind of things and you should be proud. I bet your brother could use that strength.

Matt - No way!!! He'll kill me if he finds out! He’s stupid for doing that kind of stuff. He's an idiot and I hate him!!

Eve - (grabs Matt by the shoulders to make him look at her) No you don't!! You know that you don't. You love your brother and it scares you to see him this way. He needs your help now. You have to be strong and tell someone. I'm a good start . (points to a group of young kids with three older teenagers) See those three teenagers over there. They were just like your brother at one time but now they're working with kids like your brother and helping them get on the right track. Have you told your parents yet?

Matt – No. I'm afraid of what they will say.

Eve - They'll probably be just as scared and hurt as you are. But if you're going to help your brother through this, you're all going to need to be there for each other. And there are people who can help your family find the right way to help your brother. Do you want to go over and see how they can help? Other than that, you can come back here anytime you want, hang with some of the kids and make new friends.

Matt - (nods his head and smiles) Thanks

Eve - (smiles back) No problem. (stands ups) Shall we.

Eve puts her arm around Matt's shoulder as they walk over to the youth group.

Alex 10:20AM
Cut to Alex up at the counter. She hands a membership to an overweight guy.

Alex - And there you go Mr. Griffith. You are welcome to the gym anytime you like and you are free to use the equipment

Mr. Griffith - I'd like to use them right now. I want you to help me get in shape

Alex - Okay. Which ones would you like to try?

Mr. Griffith - The barbells. Weight lifting

Alex – Um, I really don't think . . .

Mr. Griffith - Weightlifting!

Alex - Okay let's try weight lifting

Alex and Mr. Griffith walk down and over to the barbells.

Mr. Griffith - I want to benchpress

Mr. Griffith lays down to bench press and Alex just sighs and puts ten pounds on each end of the bar.

Alex - You're the customer

Alex spotted him for a few minutes as he lifted the weights up and down and then he stopped

Mr. Griffith - Put on another thirty pounds

Alex - That's not a good idea. You should start off slow

Mr. Griffith - I'm paid for this now put on another thirty pounds

Alex – I'm not your maid!! Do it yourself!

Mr. Griffith - (calls off after her) Well if you're going to act like my wife about it

Alex walks off in a huff as Mr. Griffith gets up and puts a more the thirty pounds on the bar. A few minutes later Alex hears a strangling sound. She looks over to see him trapped under the barbell with at least fifty pounds on each side.

Alex - Oh my god!!

Alex runs over and takes the barbell off him effortlessly. He gets up and coughs a little bit and looks at Alex putting the bar bell back with no effort

Mr. Griffith - How did you? . . . You're really strong

Alex - I didn't get like this over night you know.

Mr. Griffith - Can I do that?

Alex - If you work at it. (she beckons a young black woman over) This is Nyah. You're a personal trainer right?

Nyah - Yeah!

Alex - Could you work with this man and maybe advise him on a fitness plan that can help him get into shape

Nyah - Sure no problem!

Alex - It will take some time but just ease into it. Soon you will be able to pump the iron with fifty pounds on each side (Alex gives him a light pat on the back and walks off Eve joining her at her side.)

Eve - You didn't get your strength overnight?

Alex - What? You wanted me to tell him I was a god and not to worry cause I could get him some ambrosia when ever he wanted?

Eve - Good point.

Jeff 11:00AM
Cut to Jeff and another officer inside a store somewhere. They both take out their badges

Jeff - I'm Officer Morrison and this is Officer Glen Rhoads. We here to talk to about some very important business

Glen - Yeah and we don't want no back talk. This will all go very smoothly if you just cooperate

Jeff - You got that?

We pan over to the young man behind the counter, donuts stacked behind him. He looks a little nervous

Young Man - Um that's kind of my job. So can I take your order?

Glen - I think he'll cooperate(looks at the guy's name tag) Won't you Doug?

Jeff – Okay. We want two dozen double glaze donuts and one dozen of your pinwheels

Glen - And that's with the icing drizzled over

Jeff - Yeah! And we want two large coffees. Extra cream and Extra sugar

Glen - With real cream and real sugar. None of that artificial crap!

Jeff - And we want two triple mocha's with whip cream

Glen - And sprinkles. Oh and not that shaved chocolate either! I'm talking real sprinkles

Jeff - Yeah we got in big trouble the last time you did that.

Doug – Um, I just started working here today

Jeff - Would you stop yapping boy and get to our order

Doug jumps at the command and walks over to get the stuff

Glen - I tell ya .. . .young kids today

Jeff - I know! And in an hour we have to come back for lunch

Glen - It's rough man, it's rough.

COMMERCIAL

Eve 12:00PM
Cut to Eve's apartment. She walks out of the kitchen with a small salad in a a bowl and heads back down to the centre.

Cut to the centre. The centre's thinned out a bit in the workout area and most people are sitting down eating. She walks over to the bar and sits on a stool near James.

James - You're eating light

James walks over to the back counter for a minute and then comes back over to the bar with a huge hero sandwich. It's loaded down with chicken and veggies and he pours a load of garlic dressing over the sandwich and pours him self a huge glass of a fruit smoothie.

James - You know Eve, I got to admire you. You really stick to your path, even when eating. Lucky for me I'm not on your path.(takes a big bite out of the sandwich) Mmmmmm. (Points to his sandwich) This is good.

Alex 12:10PM
Alex walks in to the centre with a brown paper bag and heads into the backroom Alex and James follow her

Eve - Where were you?

Alex - Out. I felt like eating something different.

Alex sets up a couple of crates. She sits down on one and sets her food out on the other. She brings out a huge burger with all the fixings. She takes a huge bite out of the burger

Alex - (mouth full) Oh yeah! Now this is what is called real food

Eve - I need to go eat a cookie

Jeff 12:00PM
Cut to Jeff and Glen. They're are sitting in a car. Coffee cups are piled up around them. Jeff is in the drivers seat and Glen is in the passengers seat

Glen - I hate stakeouts

Jeff - Yeah

Glen - I got to go to the bathroom

Glen gets out to leave

Glen and Jeff are sitting in the car. Everything is silent. Glen looks at Jeff then looks to the front. Jeff looks at Glen then looks back to the front. Glen looks back at Jeff.

Glen - Do you have to go?

Jeff - No. Do you?

Glen - No.

Glen and Jeff sit silent for a few moments more

Glen - I'm going to get more coffee (gets out of the car)

Jeff - (calls after him) Get me a cup too!!

Jeff 2:00PM
Jeff is sitting in the car on the stakeout. He's looking out the front window. He suddenly sits up straight and begins to look more alert. He's spotted something. Glen comes back to sit in the car.

Glen - That's it. I'm switching to decaf.

Jeff - Shh!

Glen - (starts to look alert) What is it? You've spotted something?

Jeff - The shaggy guy over there is selling a bagged substance to a minor. We've got our drug bust!

Glen - (in to his shoulder mic) Requesting back up! Repeat we need back up! Suspect has been spotted and confirmed! We're going in!

Jeff and Glen get out of the car with their guns raised as they approach a shaggy haired man

Jeff - Drop the drugs and put your hands up where we can see them

The kid who was having the drugs sold to him drops the bag and puts his hands up. The shaggy haired guy picks up the bag of drugs and bolts. Jeff tears off after him down an alley way. Glen takes the kid aside.

Cut to the alleyway. Jeff stops for a minute to aim his gun. He fires and misses the guy hitting the fire escape instead. The guy makes a sharp right around a corner and Jeff pursues.

Cut to around the corner in the alleyway. The guy is met with a dead end. Jeff comes up behind him.

Jeff - Put you hands up!!!

With his back still to Jeff, the drug dealer drops the bag off drugs and puts is hands up slowly. Jeff begins to advance.

Jeff - That's it! Nice and slow where I can see them. Now lace your hands behind your head.

The drug dealer laces his hands behind his shaggy head. Jeff continues to point the gun at him as Jeff reaches for the handcuffs. At the last second the guy turns around and kicks the gun out of Jeff's hand. He then deals a punch to Jeff's right cheek knocking him down. The dealer goes for the gun running over to pick it up. Jeff gets up just as the gun fires.

Cut to slow motion as the the bullet soars out of the gun toward Jeff. Jeff twirls around and picks up the lid of a garbage can and deflects the bullet.

Cut back to regular motion as Jeff throws the lid at the wall. It ricochets off the wall on to the ground off another garbage can and hits the gun right out of the guy's hand.

Jeff - Eat your heart out Eve!

The dealer makes a dive for the gun as Jeff runs over and drags him away the guy turns around punches him on to the ground. He lunges for Jeff but Jeff shoots his legs up kicking the guy in the jaw then with his legs Jeff propels himself up. Jeff runs over and grabs the gun pointing it at the dealer. The dealer gets up ready to lunge at Jeff again.

Jeff - MAKE A MOVE AND I'LL SHOOT! NOW FOR THE LAST TIME PUT YOUR HANDS UP!!!

The dealer stands there for a minute looking at Jeff. He then makes a leap for Jeff. Jeff shoots and the dealer falls down at Jeff's feet. Jeff checks the dealers pulse. Jeff speaks into his shoulder mic.

Jeff - Requesting an ambulance. I've got a man shot here. He's still alive but just barely. Repeat, I need an ambulance here now!!

Jeff leans back on his heals and leans against the wall he takes a deep breath and sighs

Alex 3:00PM
Cut to James at the door of the men's bathroom. He knocks on the door

James - Hey guys! Are you okay in there?

Alex walks over to him.

Alex - What's going on?

James - I don't know. A bunch of guys have gone in and they haven't been out for half an hour.

Mr. Griffith runs up and pushes James and Alex out of the way as he flies into the bathroom. Alex and James hear a loud sigh from the bathroom and the flush of a toilet.

Alex - Dude! What did you put in those smoothies?

After Alex says that from inside the bathroom multiple sighs are heard and toilets are flushed. The door opens and out walks Mister Griffith, a few other guys, Matt, two old guys and five teenagers. They all mumble sorry as they pass Alex and James. The door closes behind the group. Alex looks to James. Curious, she pushes the door open to go in. The door closes behind her. James waits there a few seconds

Alex - (from inside the bathroom) AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Eve 3:05PM
Eve runs up to James outside the bathroom door

Eve - What's wrong!? I heard Alex screaming!!

James - I don't know! A bunch of guys just came out of the bathroom. Alex went in to check it out

Eve opens the door cautiously

Eve - Alex?

Cut to inside the bathroom. Alex is standing there with a overly disgusted look on her face. Eve and James who have opened the door and enter. They recoil a bit from the smell. Their eyes bulge open and their mouths drop.

James - Oh crap!

Eve - Yes it is.

Alex turns around panicked trying to push her way through James and Eve.

Alex - GET ME OUT OF HERE!! THIS IS INHUMANE!!

Alex pushes Eve and James out of the way. James looks back to the mess and wrinkles his nose in disgust while Eve calls after Alex

Eve - It's not that bad!

Alex walks up to Eve with a mop and a toilet brush and a pair of rubber gloves.

Alex - Fine (pushes the mop gloves and toilet brush to Eve) Fine! You clean it up then

Eve takes the things from Alex then looks back to the bathroom

Eve - I will!

Cut to outside the bathroom. Eve walks in and the door closes behind her. A slop type of sound is heard as if someone slipped in something. Alex and James looked to each other confused and the door opens.

Eve comes out and hands the things back to Alex. Eve is looking quite sullen

Eve - Please take care of that will you

Eve walks away rigidly. On her backside she is covered in a wet brown substance.

James is snickering as Eve walks away. Alex whips around to James and stuffs the toilet brush mop and gloves into his arms.

Alex - You find it funny? You can clean it up!

Alex walks away leaving James with a stunned look on his face.

Alex 5:00PM
Cut to inside the centre. Alex saying goodbye to the people that pass her as she finishes up some paper work. She smiles when she sees Mr. Griffith and walks him to the door

Mr. Griffith - We're going to have a bench pressing competition one of these days!

Alex - What ever you say

Mr. Griffith - I mean it! I'm going to beat you

Alex - Okay

Mr. Griffith - Be prepared to be humiliated

Alex - Good bye Mr. Griffith.

Mr. Griffith sighs and nods waving a short good bye to Alex. Matt comes up after him with one of the teenagers from the groups.

Matt - Where's Eve?

Alex - She's just doing some last minute clean up

Matt - Oh. I just wanted to say good bye and tell her something

Alex - I can pass along a message if you want

Matt - Well, Sam here is going to help me tell my family about my brother. I just wanted to tell Eve thanks, you know, for helping me out.

Alex - I'll tell her. I hope that works out for you.

Matt - Thanks! Bye

Eve 5:10PM
Cut to Eve in that backroom with James. He's moving boxes and stocking things. Eve is just sitting there watching him. He stops and looks at her for a second.

James - Are you going to help or what? (resumes his task)

Eve - You were right about things being awkward between us.

James - So?

Eve - I want to fix that

James - You made it quite clear that you don't want to get back together

Eve - But I do want us to be friends

James - We are friends Eve

Eve - But it's so strained. I don't want that. Do you?

James - (stops what he's doing and sighs) No.

Eve - Alex and I are having dinner tonight and Jeff is joining us. Do you want to come?

James - (looks to the floor) I . . . uh . . . I can't. There's some stuff I got to do.

Eve - (curious) Like?

James - (annoyed) Just some stuff I got to take care of

Eve - I'm trying to make an effort to be friends but if you don't want a friendship just say so.

James - It's not that it's just . . . forget it

Eve - If you have something to say to me James, just say it.

James - I have an appointment tonight with someone . . . If it works out and she agrees then I just have found a way to stop Thuvan and maybe even get Craig back

Eve - (shocked) Why didn't you tell me this before? Craig is my friend! If there is someway he can be saved I should know about it.

James - (angry) I didn't want to tell you until I knew for sure it could work! (calmer) I didn't want to get your hopes up and have them crushed. I know how much he means to you

Eve - (sadly) You should have told me.

James - I'll tell you how it goes. Good or bad. Okay?

Eve - (nods and grabs James' jacket and hands to him.) Go on. You don't want to be late. (smiles)

James smiles and takes his coat and heads out. He passes Alex on his way out.

Alex - Well bye to you too! (looks to Eve) Matt just left. He's going with Sam to talk to his parents. He says thanks

Eve smiles sadly and nods

Alex - Something wrong?

Eve - I hope not. Come on let's go get dinner on

Jeff 5:20PM
Cut to the streets. Jeff is sitting on the curb watching the Police cars drive off. He sees the ambulance zip up a body bag. He sighs as Glen walks over.

Jeff - Hey

Glen - Did you give your statement to I.A?

Jeff - Yeah. They still have to carry out an investigation though and I won't know the outcome for a few days

Glen - They'll rule it as a good shoot

Jeff - Shooting someone is never good

Glen - Well, on a good note, we were able to get some I.D. off the guy. We ran a few background checks and we were able to find out some possible suppliers. We finally got solid leads to break up that drug ring we've been tracking for months

Jeff - Yeah, I just wish I didn't have to shoot a guy to do it. I know it's part of the job but it still sucks . .

Glen - (sighs and sits down beside Jeff) I know. But some good did come from this.

Glen points to the kid that the drug dealer was with. His parents are hugging him. We notice Matt come over with Sam and hug his brother. Sam begins to talk to them

Glen - That kid is Ryan Walker. His parents just found out that Ryan was using. It won't be easy for Ryan to break free but he has help now. And he wont' face any consequences coming from the guys who sold it to him because we’re now going after the drug ring to break it down. We helped people today. Ryan and his family are safe.

Jeff - (smiles and nods) Determined to take the best out of any situation aren't you?

Glen - (shrugs) What doesn't kill us can only make us stronger.

Jeff - (smiles and pats Glen on the shoulder and stands up) Do you think you can take care of the paperwork, I got to meet some friends for dinner.

Glen - You had a rough night so I'll cover you but you owe me

Jeff - Thanks man. I'll see you.

Both Jeff and Glen walk off. We pan out a bit and see the area cleared of people except for the ambulance that begins to drive off. A little ways down the road the ambulance halts to a stop. The driver and another EMH are thrown out of the truck and the ambulance speeds off.

COMMERCIAL

6:00PM
Eve is in the kitchenette in her apartment. She's at the stove looking at a pot that's smoking.

Eve - Um Alex the rice is burning

Alex - Ah freaking hell! (runs over from setting the table grabs the pot off the stove and puts it in the sink and pours water into it.)Why don't you cut the bread and I'll take care of the rest of the cooking (begins to mutter to herself as she sets up another pot of rice) Two years you'd think she'd learn how to cook for herself

Eve - I heard that!

Alex - Seriously Eve, that's how many pots you've burned now?

Eve - (mutters) All of them.

There's a knock at the door Eve runs over to get the door. She's opens it and there stands Jeff with a bottle of wine. Eve steps aside and lets him walk in. He takes a sniff

Jeff - What's burning?

Alex - Eve's cooking

Jeff - Enough said (hold out the bottle of wine to Eve) A vintage wine for my hostesses. It's not often I get invited over for dinner

Eve - That's nice but I don't drink

Jeff - (turns the bottle over and smiles) I know and I don't either. I got this at the super market. Non alcoholic sparkling apple!

Alex – (sarcastic) Oh you rebel you.

6:20PM

Jeff and Eve sit down at the table while Alex brings over their plates of stir fry. She walks over and gets her plate and sits down at the table. She's about to dig in when Eve clears her throat. Alex rolls her eyes and drops her fork to her plate

Alex - Right I forgot

Eve Alex and Jeff fold their hands together and bow their heads

Eve - Eli as we thank you for the love and compassion that you have paved the way for your god we thank you for the love that went in to making this food we are about to receive and the company that is to receive it.

Alex - Yeah good food, good treats, good God let's eat!

Alex rubs her hands together then grabs her fork and begins to dig in. Eve shakes her head and looks to Jeff. He just shrugs

Jeff - What? The last time I was here she said “Rub a dub dub! Thanks for the grub.”

7:00PM
The plates have been cleared from the table and Alex Eve and Jeff are just sitting talking

Jeff - I still don't understand why we can't go out now

Alex - You want to get a cramp while running after a demon? Believe me it's no fun

Eve - Do you speak from experience?

Alex - Pleading the fifth!

Jeff - So how's business?

Alex - Same ol same ol. A new member signed up and his male ego is threatened by my strength and I swear James puts something in those smoothies cause those bathrooms are not a pretty site.

Eve - Yuck! You don't have to tell me. I got to help someone today though! A little kid named Matt. His brother was getting into drugs and he didn't know how to handle it.

Jeff - Did you pair him up with Sam? That teen from one of the groups you help set up?

Alex - I saw Matt leave with Sam

Jeff - Matt Walker?

Eve - Yeah

Jeff - I was doing a stake out today trying to track down some guys who were selling drugs to minors. The kid who was being sold the drugs was Ryan Walker. I saw Sam come over with a kid and the parents to see if Ryan was okay. Sam is going to get them involved with some help groups and therapies to help get Ryan better.

Eve - That's wonderful!

Alex - Did you catch the guy who was selling the drugs?

Jeff - (sadly) Sort of. I had to shoot the guy cause he attacked me. I don't get it though. The ambulance told me that he was dead as soon as the bullet hit him but when I checked his pulse he still had one.

Alex who was taking a sip of her drink chokes and Eve's eyes widened.

Alex - (coughing) A host!

Jeff - A what?

Eve - A host. We dealt with a couple last year. It's when a human harbors demon organs. The bodies can die but the organs are still alive. It keeps the human body alive just long enough to find another replacement.

Alex - It's rare because the human has to be a consenting host. With demon organs being sold on the black market a human is likely to live longer but they carry out the soul damning deeds of a demon. Usually it's trash like your drug dealer because they don't care one way or another as long as they get their money.

Jeff - If that's true it's possible he escaped from the ambulance. He could go after the Walkers

Eve - We've got to stop him before he does (gets up and grabs her chakram)

Alex - He'll probably look for a new body first. Another drug dealer I bet

Jeff - He may head to the dock. The intel we've got from a case we're trying to build is that a black market ring operates from there

Eve tosses Jeff a sword and Alex a sword and she heads out the door with Alex and Jeff behind her

7:30PM
Cut to a wharf. A large ship is unloading. There is both demons and young shaggy man hanging about. The drug dealer who was shot and looks like he's rotting struggles to walk up to the crowd. A demon points to two men to take him on board the ship

Pan out to some fishermen cages and wooden crates where Alex Jeff and Eve are hiding behind

Alex - Eww I hate dealing with hosts. They always start rotting.

Jeff - I wonder what took him so long to get here?

Alex - He's dead Jeff. He's practically on autopilot.

Jeff - So how do we do this?

Eve - Separate the demons from the humans. We kill off the demons and rounding up the others shouldn't be too hard.

Eve Alex and Jeff hear a car come up behind them they edge around the crates to avoid being seen then. They watch the car ride up to the edge of the dock near the ship. A man steps out of the car and walks up to the demon handing it a large amount of cash

Alex - Hey that's Mr. Griffith!

Eve - What's he doing here?

Alex - (watches as the demon hands Mr. Griffith a bag of pills) Probably getting some super steroids and demon muscle to beat me at bench pressing tomorrow. Men and your male egos

Jeff - Hey!

Alex - Present company excluded of course. Any ideas of how to separate the soulless from the soulful?

Eve - Not as of yet.

Off to the side by the edge of the dock a slimy hand that looks like it's made out of sea weed reaches up and grabs Alex's ankle pulling her down

Alex - Whoa!

Jeff and Eve grab on to Alex trying to pull her back on to the dock. The hand is still trying to pull her off the dock. As Eve and Jeff succeed in pulling Alex back up on the dock more of the Sea Weed monster is revealed.

Alex - Cut off it's hand!!

Jeff picks up his sword and slices off the demons hand and Alex is released. The demon falls back into the water. The hands falls out of it's form turning into limp sea weed only second before it turns into a little version of the seaweed monster ready to bite off Alex's leg. Alex and Eve shriek at the the little slimy thing before Alex throws a fire ball at it and it's engulfed in flame. It turns into nothing more then the dust.

Alex - That was close

Eve Alex and Jeff hear growling behind them. They turn around to see all the demons that were at the ship standing over them.

Jeff and Eve make a quick move and jump over the crates giving Alex a clear shot. She blast the demons with a stream of blue energy giving her enough time to jump over the crates herself creating enough room for her to fight.

Alex
A demon that wasn't shot by the blue energy runs around the crates and charges at Alex. Alex bends over as the demon leaps at her. She heaves the demon on to her shoulder spins around and dumps the demon into the water. Another demon charges at her and Alex delivers a mean right hook to the demon she then spins around and back hand the demon just before she kicks the demon in the face, it falls down on it's back. Three more demons face off with Alex. She cracks her knuckles before setting off sparks from her hands under the demons' feet. They begin dancing around trying to avoid the sparks before Alex throws spheres of blue energy at them electrocuting them.

Alex - Nothing like New York night life eh boys!

Jeff
Cut to Jeff running over to the ship. He brings out his cell phone.

Jeff - Glen? Hey it Jeff!! I need to you to call the chief and get the squad down to the docks now!!Pier 38. That drug ring bust needs to be now!

Before Jeff can finish his call the cell phone is pulled out of his hands by a demon. Jeff turns around to look up at the demon as it crushes his phone

Demon - I didn't give up some of my body parts so you could shoot my host and destroy my operation

Jeff - I didn't go through all the trouble of shooting your host just so you could continue your operation

Jeff jumps up and kick the demon in the face then lands and spins around to kick the feet out from under the demon. He then brings the sword down and chops off the demons head. Jeff runs over and grabs the lid off a barrel he throws it at another demon. It ricochets off the demon's chest then off a crate. It zooms straight towards Eve before she ducks and it misses her. Alex sees it heading straight for her and she throws and stream of energy toward it turning it into drift wood

Alex - Are you out of your mind!?!

Eve - (running over to Jeff) What are you thinking? A lid off of a barrel in not a chakram

Jeff - It worked this afternoon!

Eve
Eve sees the ship beginning to take off. She brings out her chakram and throws it toward the ship. It bounces off the side of the ship many times creating holes in it. It stops moving at it begins to leak oil. The chakram sails back to Eve and she catches it

Jeff - Way to pollute our waters Eve

Eve - Do you want to stop these guys or what?

Eve hears a demon come up behind her and she elbows him in the face. She then spins around hits the demon with both fist sending him splashing into the water. She then grabs the sword out of Jeff hands and shoves it into the stomach of another demon running toward them. She pushes the demon back shoving it off the sword. She spins around, the sword twirling, and slices off the demons head. Another demon runs up behind Jeff and Eve flips over Jeff and slices the through the stomach of the demon. He stops and looks down

Eve jumps up and flips backward hitting the demon right in the face sending him flying back into the water. He splashes around a bit before sinking to the bottom

Jeff - (looking over the edge of the dock) Aren't we lucky demons can't swim!

Just then Eve and Jeff look behind them to see squad cars pull up at the docks. Loads of police men empty out the cars and proceed toward the ship armed. Glen heads toward Jeff and Eve

Glen - Hey I got your call. You found the supplier! You broke the ring!

Jeff - Not on purpose.

Glen - Man, do you realize that this ship is probably involved in smuggling rings around the world. We thought this was a city wide ring but we could break it up country wide! How did you find out about this?

Jeff - Oh! Well . . . .um . . . uh

Eve - It was by accident! We thought it would be nice to take a stroll down by the docks

Jeff - Right! A stroll!

Eve - And we saw this ship and these guys loading suspicious looking things. Jeff thought it would be a good idea to call it in. Funny enough as it was just about to leave it sprung a few leaks so it couldn't go anywhere. How's that for a stroke of luck?

Glen - Wow! I'll say! Glad your cop instincts were on the ball tonight Jeff otherwise we would have never known about this!

Glen walks off leaving Eve and Jeff walking back over to Alex

Cut to Alex as two cops walk by her with Mr. Griffith in handcuffs

Alex - I'd just like you to know I'm terminating your membership

Mr. Griffith - Hey! How did you get here! How did you know about this?

Alex - The only thing I know is that that crime doesn't pay! Take him away boys

Glen - Hold on a second! I'll decide when they can take him away

Glen stands there for a minute looking at Alex then looks to Mr. Griffith

Glen - Take him away boys!

The two cops nod and lead Mr. Griffith to the cop car. Jeff and Eve join Alex as they walk away from the docks!

Alex - And that concludes our business for today! Now on to the real work

COMMERCIAL

2:00AM
Cut to an aerial view of Alex Eve and Jeff walking down the side walk beside the park. Jeff and Alex are dragging the sword on the ground behind them.

Eve - (voice over commentary) Another day has passed and it has passed with a brother learning to love, a family being safe from fear of drugs and violence and a city free from demon clutches and corrupted desires. Every day that passes without fear passes because of love and compassion . . .

Pan down to a close up on Eve's face

Eve - And each day that passes because of this is another day that Lucifer's evil is kept in Hell

Alex leans her head over to Eve

Alex – Eve, are you talking to yourself?

Eve - What? Uh . . . no.

Jeff - Yeah we're all kind of tired. Let's just get some sleep.

As the trio reaches the centre. Alex turns to head toward her apartment and Jeff gets in his car and drives off and Eve walks into the centre

Jeff 2:15AM
Jeff walks in to his apartment. He walks over to his answering machine to check his messages. While his messages play off one by one Jeff walks into his room to change. We pan in on the machine just as it comes to Glen's message

Glen - (voice on the machine) Hey Jeff! It's Glen. Listen I talked to the chief and he said good work so you got the day off tomorrow! And hey that Eve chick is pretty fine. Do you think you can set me up with her . . .

Jeff comes out of his bedroom in boxers and turns off the machine.

Jeff - Thank you for the day off but trust me you do not have a chance with Eve

Jeff turns off the lights and walks into his bedroom and closes the door

Alex 2:15AM
Cut to Alex walking into her loft.

Alex - I'm home. I'm home thank God I'm home!!

Alex doesn't even make it to her bedroom she drops the sword on the floor and falls on to the couch falling fast asleep.

Eve 2:15AM
Eve finishes praying at her Eli shrine in her pajama's and turns off the light. She walks in to her bedroom with the bedside lamp still on and turns down the bedcovers and gets in. She snuggles down in the bed with the blankets on top of her and smiles

Eve - It's been a good day

Eve reaches over to turn off the bedside lamp

Cut to black
