We begin with the sun rising fading to the dawn light lighting up the Statue of Liberty. We pan along the New York skyline fading to a bird’s eye view of Manhattan’s Streets on a busy morning, fading to people walking or jogging in Central Park, finally fading to a roof top covered in potted plants. Panning to the back of a woman looking out over the city from the roof top. We pan around to her face. It is Eve

Eve (commentary voice over) - New York, the city that never sleeps. Even in the most perilous of times this city grew stronger and filled itself with hope. How appropriate I find myself here when I have also faced dangerous and doubtful times. My name is Eve but I have many titles. Daughter of Xena, Champion of Rome, Messenger of Eli. In this city I will fight the demons of the night and help people to find a better way in their own lives. A life that can be filled with liberty and hope. In a time torn between good and evil I will fight for the right to choose and the chance to make a promise of a better day.

Alex (voice) - Hey Eve!!

Cut to the ground where Alex and Craig are looking up to Eve on the roof top of the NEW DAYS Centre and waving. Eve looks down and smiles and waves back.

Eve - (voice over) My friends. When I thought all was lost they were there to save me from myself. Thanks to them I have found hope again. I would do the same for them. Alex, half god, half mortal woman. So strong and yet so afraid of vulnerability. And Craig is my angel. When I thought no one could understand, he guided me back and helped me rediscover the strength of my faith. I'm not sure I could have made it this far with out him.

Eve looks down to Craig who smiles and waves again before heading into the centre behind Alex.

Eve - (voice over) It's been quiet these last couple of months. Demons seem to be prowling the city less and less. The calm before the storm. In my experience these quiet periods don't last for long. Things will change. They always do

Eve takes one last look out over the city and heads over to the fire escape to go down to her apartment that is just above the centre to greet Alex and Craig.

We pan out over the city being illuminated by the morning light. We pan over some areas of forest into a particularly dark section. We fade to a very dark, almost black area. We pan into the black where a pair of yellow eyes open.

Raspy voice - Livia!

Europe: 2000 years ago

Fade in to a burning village. Roman soldiers are setting fire to houses and dragging people out of their homes beating them to death. Through the fire and the smoke Livia makes her way through the crowd.

Livia - You barbarians will pay for trying to revolt against Rome!

A bloodied and bruised villager crawls up to Livia and grabs on to her foot. Livia kicks him in the face

Villager – (being dragged away by soldiers) You will pay! The gods will see you suffer! Our god will make you suffer!

Livia - (laughs) Your god! Your god is dead.

Suddenly a warrior on horseback rides through the crowd. He has long dark curly hair and an X burned into his forehead.

Warrior - THE GOD OF IRIDAN LIVES ON IN HIS PEOPLE!!

The warrior rides through the crowd knocking roman soldiers on the ground and killing many soldiers with blind fury. He charges towards Livia. Livia just stands her ground until the last possible moment. She jumps up and kicks the warrior of his horse. He falls to the ground. In a split second before he can get up Livia has a knife to his throat

Livia - Well, well, well. If it isn't Thuvan, the warrior prophet. I knew you were the one responsible for this.

Thuvan - (struggles against the knife) Iridan had chosen me to lead these people to freedom!!

Livia - Iridan won't save you. Do you think he's still with you after what you've done? You're no better than me. We're the same Thuvan!

Thuvan - I am nothing like you, you treacherous bitch!

Livia - I've killed many people Thuvan. I've done it for the security of my home. You've killed just as many. Do you even know why? Can you really tell me we're different?

Thuvan looks at Livia with malice and hate. He doesn't answer but spits on the ground before her.

Livia – (laughs as she turns to her guards) Bring them out!

The guards bring out a woman, two young woman and two boys who are struggling against the guards grip.

Thuvan - (in fright) Fraysa!!

Livia - That's right your dear wife Fraysa and your four beautiful children. We brought them out of hiding.

Thuvan - NO!! (struggles to get free but two roman soldiers hold him down)

Livia - (stands in front of him and backhands him in the face) You will pay for your treason. (turns to the guards holding the family) Do what you want but make sure they suffer. Make Thuvan watch it all. When his family is dead, kill him. (turns back to Thuvan) Face it Thuvan, you've been forsaken.

Livia walks away, behind her Thuvan and his family scream as soldiers surround them.

Present Day:

A huge demon with large horns sticking out from the top of his head and curling around his ears opens his yellow eyes.

Demon - I will make you pay for what you've done Livia.

Lucifer - (comes up behind the demon) Of course you will but don't forget our agreement. Destroy her, make her abandon her mission and I will give you life and a new body

Thuvan - Why does she walk freely on earth while I've to suffer in hell?

Lucifer - You’re not exactly innocent here. Remember what brought you to my kingdom. Eve is atoning for her actions as Livia.

Thuvan - I want vengeance!

Lucifer - (stressing) And you will get it by destroying Eve

Thuvan - I want that body first. I will need it if I am to destroy her inside and out.

Cut to the centre

Alex is punching the stuffing out of a punching bag

Eve - You’re going to punch a hole in that bag

Alex – At least I don’t bring my work home with me. The walls of my centre look like Swiss cheese

Craig – Leave her alone Alex. With less and less demons roaming the night those attacks are a thing of the past.

Eve – It’s good that you are still trying to keep in shape though. I think we all need to be prepared just in case.

Alex - Just in case of what? A demon spree. Not likely. I've been talking to Phoebe Halliwell. She says the whole underworld is in chaos. There won't be any demons attacking for a long while.

Eve – Lucifer's being too quiet. He's planning something.

Alex - Oh lighten up. You've defeated Lucifer and the demons are scared. We've finally got an upper hand. Enjoy it!

Alex goes into the back room and Craig walks down to where Eve is.

Craig - Don't mind Alex. This is the first real break we've had from the demon fighting in a long time. She's enjoying the quiet. However, I do agree with her.

Eve - What do you mean?

Craig - Alex is right. You've got every demon in hell scared. You and Alex defeat the demons that do attack in two minutes flat.

Eve - That doesn't mean anything.

Craig - I think it does. Do you know I gotten more school work done it the past three months then I have in the four years I've been teaching? And I'm on vacation!

Eve laughs

Craig - You and Alex have got everything under control. (Pause) So much in fact that I'm thinking of leaving.

Eve - What?

Craig – You don’t need me anymore.

Eve – You’re wrong. I do need you. I don’t think I could have made it last year without you.

Craig – And look at how far you've come. You’re stronger now and more confident. There’s no more I can help you with. I'd only hold you and Alex back now. I can make a difference abroad though. There are several projects they have going on in England. They're studying the demon mind and training new hunters . . .

Eve - Have you even discussed this with Alex?

Craig - No, but I'm sure she would understand. (Eve looks at him skeptically) I’ll make her understand

Eve - Could you at least wait for a few weeks just in case Lucifer does try to attack again?

Craig - (sighs and gives in) Two weeks. It will give me time to go over it with my family anyway

Eve - I have this feeling. Something is going to happen. Something bad

Cut to the evening just outside the centre. Eve walks out of the centre locking the doors behind her.

Eve - All ready for another uneventful night of patrolling.

Alex - Sure I could go for a nice evening stroll.

Craig rolls his eyes as he Alex and Eve cross the street over to the park across from the centre. Alex is keeping a faster pace walking ahead of Craig and Eve. As she rounds the corner out of sight Eve strikes up a conversation

Eve - So have you talked to your family?

Craig – (sighs) Yeah, they expect me to leave soon. And even though they’re going to miss me they still support me like I’m hoping you and Alex will.

Eve - We’re supposed to be a team.

Craig – We are a team but I've become a obsolete now

Eve - How can you say that?

Alex - (voice in the distance) Heads up! Demon coming your way!

A demon jumps out of the bushes at Craig knocking him to the ground. Craig flips the demon over him. Eve tosses Craig a sword and he chops of its head. He and Eve then run to catch up with Alex

Cut to where Alex is surrounded by demons that all look like smaller versions of Lucifer without the horns. Alex is being held onto by two of the demons and being punched and kicked by the others. Eve runs and tackles one of the demons off of Alex. Craig comes up behind the two that are holding on to Alex.

Craig - Alex! Duck!

Alex ducks her head and Craig swings the sword around slicing off the two demons heads. They fall to the ground dead letting Alex go.

Alex - Thank you!

Craig - Anytime!

Another demon jumps up and kicks Craig down. Alex punches the demon then zaps him with an energy ball.

Alex - Jerk!

Alex helps Craig up but they duck as a fourth demon swings at them. Eve comes running up and kicks it in the back. It turns around and begins to throw punches at her. Eve swerves to avoid the punches. She then delivers a punch to each side of the demons face. Eve then spins around and back hands him. She then jumps up and kicks the demons square in the chest. Eve then takes out her chakram and throws it at the demon slicing off its head. The chakram then bounces of a tree and heads back to Eve. Eve ducks and the chakram slices off the head of the last demon that was just about to tackle Eve. The chakram sails back to Eve and she catches it.

Eve - So much for a quiet night.

Alex – A couple of demons. Big whoop. It’s the most activity we’ve had in weeks.

Eve sends Alex an annoyed look

Alex - What?

Eve – Those demons looked like Lucifer!

Alex – “Lucifer’s Kin” is the preferred term, as I remember

Craig – They're also known as Heralds of Disaster. They're a prelude to a greater evil.

Alex – Says who?

Eve – It’s in the spell book. Craig’s grandmother fought them before. Are you so ready to leave now Craig? (Eve walks off)

Craig's eyes widen and he shakes his head trying to quiet Eve as Alex turns around

Alex - Leaving? What the hell?

Craig hesitates but then just walks away

Alex - (calls out) Craig!

Cut to Eve coming out to the other side of the park. There are police cars everywhere, sirens are spinning red and blue lights all around and there are Police officers standing around a young man who lay dead on the ground. Eve sees Lt. Jeff Morrison and walks over

Jeff sees Eve heading towards him. He walks over to her and tries to keep her back

Eve – (tries to look over his shoulder) What’s going on?

Jeff - You're going to have to stay back this is a crime scene.

Eve – Hi to you too

Jeff – Nothing personal. I’m on duty

Eve - What happened?

Jeff - Someone was killed

Eve - Oh (Eve steps away from Jeff and tries to get a better look at the body suspecting a demon) Do you know what did it?

Jeff – (catches the comment) We don't have any suspects, if that's what you mean.

Eve - Why not?

Jeff - (sighs) There are no finger prints on the body. Nothing was stolen from him. There is no gun shot or knife wound. It looks like his head was snapped. A total clean break, there isn't even any sign of struggle. Whoever did it must be big and strong. Poor kid. Look at him. He’s probably only 20

Eve and Jeff watch the body brings zipped up in a body bag. Eve see the X on the body’s forehead. The body is carried away

Eve - An X?

Jeff- What?

Eve- There was an X on his forehead

Jeff - Yeah, we think it was burned in post mortem.

Eve – That mark . . . that symbol

Jeff – Do you know what that is?

Eve – Uh . . . no. I have to go

Jeff looks at Eve as she walks away. He suspects something

Fade to a pair of yellow eyes in the dark

Thuvan (voice) - That’s right Livia. Remember

COMMERCIAL

Cut to the next day in the centre. Fade to upstairs in Eve’s apartment. Eve is looking through the spell book trying to find the symbol of the X. She looks at her Eli shrine when she doesn’t find anything

Eve – Why can’t I see what he’s doing? (walks over to her shrine and prays) Give me strength to see what he is planning. What is Lucifer up to?

Craig – (storms into her apartment and slams the door) Thanks a lot

Eve – What do you mean?

Craig – For blurting out my plans. Alex is pissed.

Eve – I didn’t mean to cause trouble but you’re not going to leave now are you?

Craig - (sighs) No, I don't think I should. Those demons last night have me concerned.

Eve – Those demons were sent to distract us. I think it might have something to do with a murder.

Craig – A murder?

Alex interrupts as she knocks on the door opening it. She glares at Craig and then looks at Eve

Alex – Eve, could you come downstairs for a moment

Craig and Eve follow Alex down into the centre.

Jeff is downstairs in the centre waiting for Eve. He turns around just as she enters with Alex and Craig.

Craig – Jeff? What are you doing here?

Alex – He'd like to ask Eve some questions. About a murder.

Craig – Sorry?!

Jeff – Eve stumbled across a murder scene last night. I wanted to ask a few questions

Eve – About?

Jeff – The X on his forehead. You seemed to recognize it.

Eve – I didn’t. I mean I thought I did but . . . I was mistaken

Jeff – Are you sure you didn’t recognize it? Maybe its a religious symbol. You've had dealings with cults in the past. Does it seem like a X symbol would be associated with any rituals?

Alex – Are you accusing her of something

Jeff – I'm following up on all leads and checking all angles.(looks to Eve) If something comes to mind Eve, please give me a call.

Eve – Of course

Jeff gives a penetrating glance at Eve before nodding goodbye to Craig and Alex before heading out

Fade to a red realm as a demon monk is thrown against a rock. Pan over to the larger demon Thuvan. He breathing heavily with anger and exertion after throwing the other demon around

Thuvan – What do you mean it didn’t work?

Lucifer – (coming into view) You can’t use the body. If you’re going to succeed undetected you're going to need a purer soul. I can’t be found breaking natural law.

Thuvan – (Thinks for a moment) I think I’ve found the perfect means. Get those monks ready Lucifer. I have an idea.

Cut to that night. Alex, Craig and Eve walk to the spot where the body was found. The area has been cleared.

Eve – (distraught remembering the sight of death) He was right here. He was just laying here with blank eyes wide open and that X was just burned . . .

Alex – (interrupts) We don’t need a detailed description, thank you!

Eve – I had the weirdest sense of déjà vu when I saw the X. I’ve seen it before but I can’t remember where.

Craig – And you think it might be connected to Lucifer?

Eve – (sighs) I don’t know.

Craig – Alex, what do you think?

Alex – I’m not talking to you

Craig – Oh come on Alex!!!

Alex and Craig argue. Eve rolls her eyes and looks away. Her senses pick up something. She looks around. She narrows her eyes and peers into the dark wood. She has a hunch about something and ventures cautiously into the woods.

Ten feet away Jeff appears out from behind a tree. He has been following them, convinced Eve knows more then she has let on. He continues to follow her into the forest.

Cut back to Craig an Alex

Alex - Europe! EUROPE! That's not just leaving the city, that's leaving the whole continent!! What are you thinking?!? We need you here. What about our mission?

Craig - Alex, you said it yourself, demons just aren’t attacking anymore.

Alex – Forget the demons! What about me?

Craig - What about you?

Alex - You’re my best friend. Who will I have to keep me in line? Who will I have to remind me why I still do this? . . . You can’t go

Craig and Alex come together and embrace in a big hug

Craig – You know I’m going to miss you like crazy but we can’t always be two people living one half of the same life. You are going to have to be one and whole on your own. If you don’t want to do this anymore it’s up to you.

Alex – (pulls away from the hug)You know that after all I’ve seen I can’t walk away but I don’t know if I can keep it together without you.

Craig – You are stronger then you give yourself credit for. Have faith in yourself and what you can do. Not to mention have faith in your friends. And if you ever get out of line maybe Eve can beat you around a bit

Alex – (snorts) Yeah right!

Craig - But don't worry about it for now. If Eve is right and Lucifer is getting bold again I’m not going anywhere.

Alex – (looks around) Where did Eve go?

Cut to Eve brushing away some bush to try to find something that would explain what her senses picked up. She's looking around when a large shadow rises up behind her.

Cut back to Alex and Craig. A scream comes from the woods, Alex and Craig quickly run in that direction.

Cut to Eve being held up in the air by a demon we recognize as Thuvan, his large scale like hands clamped around her neck.

Thuvan - Hello Livia. Remember me?

Eve is being choked by Thuvan and is losing air fast. In a quick move Eve lifts her legs up and kicks him in the stomach causing him to release her. As Eve drops to the ground she kicks the legs out from under Thuvan and rolls away. Thuvan gets up once again to attack Eve. He catches her from behind.

Thuvan - Livia, I'm hurt. You mean to tell me you don't recognize me.

Eve - No . . . (struggles against his grasp) But then again (elbows him in the stomach so she can get out of his grasp) I don't go on demonic dates (kicks him in the crotch then punches him in the face)

Eve is about to punch him again when he catches her hand. He turns her around and holds a knife to her throat

Thuvan - Is this familiar to you? Right before you killed my family you had me in this position. Right before you told me I was forsaken. Tell me Livia, do you feel forsaken?

Just then an energy ball hits him in the face. Thuvan stumbles back screaming. Eve runs away to meet Alex and Craig. Alex's hands still glowing from the energy ball

Eve - With friends like these . . . not in the least. Thanks Alex

Alex - Just doing my job. So what’s this guy's deal?

Eve - Demon. Knows I'm Livia. My guess, he's one of Lucifer's henchmen.

Alex - Oh fun

Voice - What the hell?!!

Eve Alex and Craig look back to see Jeff staring wide eyed past them at the large demon getting up from the ground

Jeff - What the hell is that?

Craig - Jeff, get out of here now!

Thuvan gets up his hands start blazing with fire.

Thuvan - I have my own brand of fire power.

Thuvan begins throwing random fire blasts at Eve, Alex, Craig and Jeff. They all dodge out of the way.

Jeff - Craig, what is going on? What is that thing??

Craig - Now's not the time! You've got to get out of here!!

Jeff - Forget that. (brings out his radio to call for back up)

Alex sees this and kicks to radio out of his hands

Alex - Are you crazy? The more people that barge in here is more people who will get killed.

Thuvan throws another fire blast sending Alex, Jeff and Craig flying back.

Eve runs up and kicks Thuvan in the chest. He stumbles back a bit and the picks Eve up by the arms. Eve sees the X branded on his forehead. Before Eve can do anything else he throws her aside sending her crashing into a tree.

Meanwhile Jeff has landed near his radio he tries to crawl over to it when Thuvan spots him. Thuvan walks over to Jeff in long strides

Alex - No!

Alex runs over to tackle Thuvan but he just sticks out his arm throwing her back

Jeff sees this and brings out his gun. He starts shooting at Thuvan but his bullets have no effect. He keeps shooting until he runs out of bullets. Thuvan still keeps walking toward him and Jeff is too scared to move.

Thuvan - Bullets don't work on me, fool! I'm in a demon body!

Thuvan is just about to grab Jeff when Craig runs up and tackles Thuvan. Thuvan is pushed back a few feet. Annoyed by this Thuvan picks up Craig by the neck. Craig struggles against his grip but stops suddenly as Thuvan peers into him. Thuvan lifts Craig up very slowly. Craig is suddenly very scared.

Alex – (whispers) Oh my god! Craig!

Thuvan – You’ll do

Just then Thuvan snaps Craig's neck

Alex - NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff - CRAIG!!!

Alex summons a huge energy ball and throws is at Thuvan but he is still holding up Craig so he uses him to shield himself from the blast and Craig just absorbed the shot. Alex falls to her knees shocked!

Thuvan drops Craig to the ground and Alex runs over to be at Craig's side crying. Jeff just gets up watching in horror. Thuvan just looks down on Alex

Thuvan – You’re next

Thuvan goes to pick Alex up but just then Eve jumps up on Thuvan's back gets her hands around his head and snaps his neck killing him. Thuvan falls to the ground dead beside Alex who crying over Craig's dead body.

Eve falls to her knees beside Craig

Eve - (stunned) It can't be.

Alex - (looks up at Eve the tears flowing freely) It is.

Eve breaks down crying. Alex, in despair, drapes her self over Craig's dead body. Jeff just looks on in horror and grief.

COMMERCIAL

Cut to Craig's dead body being put on the floor of Eve's apartment. Jeff and Eve are just looking at the body while Alex is pacing the room very nervous.

Alex - (mumbling to herself) What do we do? What do we do?

Jeff – There is a million and one things we should be doing right now

Alex – (Alex stops suddenly and looks at Jeff shocked and angry) Oh! Would you like to tell everyone how a big demon just snapped Craig's neck! They have a word for people telling stories like that. It's called crazy!!!

Eve - Alex calm down.

Alex - Calm down? Calm down? I am sick of everyone telling me to calm down! Craig is dead!! My best friend is dead. What am I going to do? What am I going to tell his family? His family doesn’t believe in . . . that demons can . . . that he fought. . . They will think it's my fault. . . It is my fault!!

Eve – No! No it’s not. Craig . . . he risked his life to save a friend. You would have done the same thing. You tried to do the same thing.

Alex - I tried and I failed. It’s my fault. It’s all my fault!

Eve - (takes Alex's head in her hands and forces Alex to look straight at her) That demon was after me!

Jeff – Shut up! The both you! It's no one's fault!!

Alex and Eve look at Jeff shocked

Jeff - Stop blaming yourself for a minute and think what we're going to do about this dead body on the floor. Craig said something about going to Europe right?

Alex – Were you eavesdropping on us?

Jeff- I was trying to get some info on my case. I thought Eve knew something

Eve – (interjecting) He . . . he was going to go to Europe to study and . . . and he told his family

Jeff - Okay, I will contact his family and I will let them know on his behalf that he just left for Europe. I'll make up some excuse about flights or something. Make sure you take care of Craig’s things and notify the University about his absence. I'll try to squash any suspicions anyone on my force has about the case. I can leave a couple things out of my report. I don’t think a dead demon would qualify as a solved case anyway.

Eve - Thanks Jeff. That means a lot, you helping us out.

Jeff – I can't believe I'm talking about demons like its a normal thing. You two should take some time and get your stories straight. A man is dead. We can cover this up for now but this kind of thing doesn't go away. I don’t know exactly what’s going on. This demon thing . . . I don’t understand. I don't think anyone can.

Eve – It’s going to take some time to explain. We didn’t even want you to get involved. You’re not ready.

Jeff - I am involved! But first things first. I'll come by later and help you bury him. It should be some place secluded.

Eve – (uneasy) Yes . . . we should . . . prepare his body. .

Alex – (stops Eve) Don’t touch him. (to Jeff) Why are you doing this? Are you feeling guilty or something?

Jeff - He was my friend too.

Alex - You got him killed!

Eve - ALEX!

Alex - You were sticking yourself in places you shouldn't have been. Getting yourself into things of which you have no idea how to handle. If you hadn't have been there, Craig wouldn't have died!!

Eve - Alex that's enough!!

Alex - Shut up Eve!!!(turns back to Jeff) You know what? Just get out . . . . GO! (nobody moves so Alex growls and storms out of Eve's apartment)

Eve - Alex!! (sighs and turns to Jeff) I'm sorry. She didn't mean any of that. We know it's not your fault. . .

Eve looks to Craig’s body. She is about to say something but she just covers her mouth muffling her sobs.

Jeff - (in a calming voice) What happened here tonight was a series of choices. You can't control the choice that someone else makes. (looks at Craig) Craig and I met in rehab. We learned that there are things in this life you can't control. What we can do is focus on the things we can change. We can find the strength to go forward and make things better for the future.

Eve - That's what Craig always tried to do. That's what he helped me do.

Jeff - I may not know a lot about what's going on but I know that Craig believed in you. He wouldn't have brought you into this if he didn't believe you could make a difference.

Eve - (looks down to Craig's body and closes her eyes. She looks back up to Jeff) Thank you

Jeff - I know you don't want me involved in this. I don't know jack about demons or whatever the hell you do but like it or not, I'm in this now. Craig was my friend and tonight he saved my life. I owe it to him to help you now. His death will not be wasted. He gave me a chance at life. I plan to do something with it.

Eve – (nods)Alright.

Jeff - I have to go and report back to my squad but you can call me anytime and I'll be here to help.

Jeff leaves Eve's apartment and Eve looks at Craig one last time and then grabs a sheet from her bed and throws it over him.

Cut to downstairs. It's now dawn and Alex is punching furiously at the bag. Jeff walks past her

Jeff stops for a second wanting to say something but knows Alex is ignoring him so he walks away. He stops and turns around walking right back over to her. Alex stops punching on the bag but doesn't look at him.

Jeff - I know you don’t like me and I know you don’t want me to be here but I‘ll tell you this, I'm in this. And if any of us are going to get through this, you're going to have to accept that I'm here now. And after what I've seen, I'm not going anywhere

Alex doesn't answer and he sighs and walks out of the centre. Eve comes out from the backroom and just looks at Alex

Eve - Are you going to open the centre today?

Alex shakes her head as she looks at the swaying bag

Eve - Then maybe you can help me with Craig. If we do this together . . . it might help you accept . . . the loss

Alex - Eve, I really don't need any of your Eli crap right now!

Eve – What!

Alex - Just shove it!

Eve – (shakes her head unable to reconcile what is happening. She does not know what to say.) I'm sorry. But if you just listen . . . we need each other right now . . . Eli has said . . . (she has no words)

Alex goes back punching the bag

Eve - Do you blame me?

Alex - (stops at these words and looks at Eve) No I don't. Craig and I knew what we were getting into when we decided to demon hunt eight years ago. We knew what we were getting into when we brought you here to help. Whether a demon had a vendetta against you are not, there was always the chance that one of us would go violently. I just wish it didn't have to be Craig.

Eve - Grieve for him. It might help if you cry. Our faith can . . .

Alex - No! Crying won't help and neither will blind faith. Face it Eve. Eli let our friend, my friend die. He's forsaken us.

Eve just looks at Alex shaking her head crying but Alex just walks past her into the backroom.

COMMERCIAL

Cut to Alex and Eve standing at the foot of Craig's grave, on the far outskirts of a secluded part of the cemetery. The makeshift tombstone reads:

"Here lies Craig Summers. A Teacher, a Fighter and a Friend. May he find his Peace"

Jeff comes up behind them. Eve turns around.

Eve - Hey

Alex - What do you want?

Jeff - I just wanted to let you know that things are in the clear for now. At least until you . . . sort this out

Alex - Thanks. Now go

Jeff - I owe it to Craig to be here

Eve - It would be helpful to have someone on the side of the law

Alex - We did fine without him before.

Eve - We could use another person.

Alex - He's the reason why we lost one!!

Jeff - That's why I want to help. I owe it to him, to his memory

Alex - You owe us a friend! (turns to Eve) Eli owes us a friend!

Alex runs off deeper in to the cemetery grounds.

Eve - Alex!!(Tears begin forming in her eyes) That demon he was out for my blood. He got Craig's instead and now I have his (looks at her hands and cries) Why won’t the blood ever come off?

Jeff - Don't put this on yourself.

Eve - Our lives are shattered. How can this mission go on? How can we go on?

Eve walks away leaving Jeff by himself in front of Craig's grave.

Eve is being chased out of the village by an angry mob who don't believe in religion

Eve begins to cry uncontrollably when sudden burst of light enters Eve's room.

Hush now
I see a light in the sky

Eve backs away and covers her eyes from the bright light

And oh it's almost blinding me
I can't believe I've been touched by an angel

The light fades and from it emerges Eli. Eve instantly recognizes who it is and is in absolute awe.

Let the rain come down
And wash away my tears

Eli bends down and embraces Eve. She leans into him and cries

Eli - You must be strong my messenger

Eve's eyes snap open

Fade to Eve running through the streets of New York trying to find Alex

Fade to Alex standing in a clearing she is breathing heavy and trying to hold back her tears

Where is was dark now there is light

Eve Alex and Craig leave Eve's apartment laughing

Craig gives Alex a rose

Hush now
I see a light in the sky

Alex begins throwing energy balls at rocks blowing them up

Cut to Eve who sees the flashes of light and runs in its direction

And oh it's almost blinding me

Alex pushes over trees and throws energy balls putting scorch marks in them

I can't believe I've been touched by an angel

Alex sends a stream of lightening from her hands into the sky, screaming.

Eve - ALEX!

Alex turns around slowly as the rain begins to pour down

Eve - Alex . . . you have to let go

Let it shatter the wall

Eve reaches to take Alex's hand but Alex pulls away

Eve – It’s okay to miss him . . . I miss him. I loved him too

Alex begins to break down crying. She falls down on the wet grass and mud with Eve's arms around her

Eli appears beside Eve and Alex and embraces both of them

Eli (voice) - All fear is the fear of loss and if you are not afraid then that means you have nothing to lose and if you have nothing to lose that means there is nothing you love. And only with love can you find the strength to go forth and change the world. Let a new day come.

A New Day Has Come

Fade to the next day. There is a knock at a door of an apartment. Jeff opens up the door. Alex is standing there

Alex - Hey.

Cut to Eve in the evening looking out the window of her apartment

Eve (voice) - Things change. They always do. And this time the change came swift and fierce. In only a few days I lost a friend, gained a new one and had my faith and my friendship put to the test. But my faith is strong and I will remain strong for Craig. Even in death he teaches me that things happen for a reason and we must work to make things better in life. After all that has happened I will survive. I just hope Alex will.

There's a knock on Eve's door. She answers it. Alex is standing there with Jeff

Eve - What's this?

Alex – (sighs) We've got a job to do. Those demons aren't going to slay themselves. (Alex looks behind her to Jeff) Jeff is going to help.

Eve - I'll be right out (smiles a bit)

Alex and Jeff leave and Eve goes over to pick up her chakram

Eve (voice over) - A new day has come and I still have a mission. The game is still the same but now the rules have dramatically changed.

Cut to the cemetery at night. Pan around the cemetery to a pile of dirt with more dirt being piled upon it. We see shovels digging out something. Several robed figures are humming and chanting and digging out a grave. Two robed figures pull a body out of a ground and two other robed figures take him and put him on a stretcher. The figures leave carrying the body out of the cemetery.

The makeshift tombstone at the foot of the dug up grave says:

"Here lies Craig Summers. A Teacher, a Fighter and a Friend. May he find his Peace."

Fade to Black
