Open with a pan over the "NEW DAYS" centre. We pan over the rooftop covered in potted plants and down the side to the fire escape and the window to Eve's apartment. We pan inside the apartment. Eve is there watering some more plants. She spies closely on one and sees a spider crawling on to the leaves. She lifts her hand under the leaf and lets the small spider crawl on to her hand. We hear a knock on the door.

Eve - (doesn't turn her attention away from the spider) Come in

Alex and Jeff walk in

Alex - Hey Eve! Jeff is here to take you on another driving. . . (Eve turns around and with the spider visible in her hands) AHHHHH! (hides behind Jeff)

Jeff - (looks wildly around him) What!? What is it?!

Alex - Eww Eww Eww!!

Eve - (rolls her eyes) Honestly Alex. It's just a spider

Jeff - (begins to laugh) You're not scared of that little spider are you?

Alex - (comes out from behind Jeff and glares) No, I am not! I just happen to find spiders particularly disgusting. But speaking of fear, Jeff is here to take you on another driving lesson

Jeff – Yeah, I'm glad you decided to try this again. I promise to be more patient and not go postal on you.

Eve - Well, you make a pretty convincing argument for it and it is a good skill to have in this century, so I guess I can give it another go as long as you don't . . .how did you put it? Go postal?

Jeff - Yeah. So you ready?

Eve - Sure

Jeff - Okay, just hold on a minute while I make sure my car is accident proof (Jeff runs out Eve's apartment)

Alex laughs at the comment and turns around to find Eve holding the spider in her face

Alex - WHOA!!!

Eve - (smiles) A big bad god afraid of a little spider?

Alex - Three parts god and I am not afraid

Eve - Well, it's good to see you joking and laughing anyway. It's so soon after . . .

Alex - Eve! Don't. I'm joking and laughing because I have hope. You said we can save him. I believe you.

Eve smiles and opens the window to let the spider go and turns back to Alex

Eve - You want to know what my biggest fear was. That Thuvan was right, that the only thing that has changed is my name, that I'm still Livia . . .

Alex - What? Eve . . .

Eve - (interrupts) But I'm not afraid any more. I'm not Livia. Craig helped me see that some time ago. I'm strong enough to overcome the darkness, and I have friends, and a life that I am proud of. I am different from Livia. Now I just use the skills that I learned while I was her to fight for something better.

Alex - You know Craig would say something really wise at a time like this.

Eve - Like courage is not the absence of fear but the will to overcome it, the will to act in the face of fear.

Alex - (stunned for a minute) Yeah. That works. (bows in a mocking way) Your sage powers are growing grasshopper.

The sound of a car honking comes from outside

Eve - That's Jeff. I better get going.

Alex - Time for Jeff to face his fear

Eve - Very funny

Cut to a building on the other side of the city. It seems to be an old manufacturing plant of some sort. Fade to inside a dark room. We hear an insane laughter. We pan over to a mad looking scientist with scraggily hair. He is pouring liquid into another vile.

Scientist - It's almost time. Hee Hee. I will soon be able to unleash my darling on this city and then the world! I will be supreme ruler!

Thuvan in Craig's body comes out of the shadows.

Thuvan - Yes, but first you must get rid of those who will oppose you. You know who I mean.

Scientist - Yes Yes. I'm well aware of the cop, the god and the messenger. That's what this elixir is for (holds up the vile)

Thuvan - What is it?

Scientist - I call it "Fear in a Bottle." Once they get a whiff of this scent it will activate a part of the brain that fixates on fear. They will be so consumed with their own fear they will never even notice my “lovely” making way for me to take over the city

Pan over to a large cage where a huge spider squirms to get out

Cut to outside the police station. Jeff's car comes screeching to a stop in front of the station. We cut to inside the car. Eve is on the drivers’ side unbuckling her seat belt. We pan out as Eve looks toward Jeff who is sitting perfectly still with his eyes closed in the passenger side. Eve rolls her eyes and smacks Jeff in the arm. He opens his eyes

Jeff - I'm still alive?

Eve - Yes you big goof! And we're at the station like you asked

Jeff - Good. I just need to double check on my shift tonight. Then I'm driving us back

Cut to inside the police station. Eve and Jeff walk in and one of the police officers spots Jeff

Police officer - Jeff, hey! You look a little out of breath. Anything up?

Jeff - Uhhhh (looks at Eve) I was sort of holding my breath on the way over.

Police officer - Need a puffer or anything? (laughs as he walks away)

Jeff - Very funny man!

Eve and Jeff walk over to Jeff's desk.

Eve - Did I miss something?

Jeff - (embarrassed) Uhhh . . . I made the mistake last year about confessing some of my childhood fears to a few of the guys. A criminal we brought in had an asthma attack and one of the officers brought him a puffer and when I heard it, I jumped. . . well jumped would be a nice way of putting it. I had to explain my self to the captain and some of the guys have never let me forget it.

Eve - I'm not sure I follow.

Jeff - It's a big joke around here but my upbringing wasn't exactly conventional. My parents were real children of the sixties. My dad was brought up in a commune as a naturalist. They didn't believe in capitalism, government, medication. Dad actually grew up to be well adjusted but he was very into conspiracy theories. My mom was always a good balance to him in that respect but she was into flower power and against pollution and it didn't help that she was chemophobic.

Eve - What's that?

Jeff - She had a serious fear of chemicals. Needless to say my sister and I grew up differently than most kids. With my dad's theories on government control and my mom's fears of chemicals I developed some weird ideas. After my episode in rehab I got a lot of things straight but for some reason there are some things that I just can't let go of.

Eve - Kind of like Alex with spiders huh?

Jeff - Yeah . . . (laughs a little) You know, I fight the bad guys everyday, drugs, guns violence and then in the night I go out and fight the real boogymen and yet I still get edgy around the little fears from my childhood. . . weird huh?.

Eve - Just don't let them hold you back Jeff.

Jeff - (looks up from his papers) Do you speak from experience?

Eve - (reflective) I almost let my fear destroy me once. But I realized that helping people was more important then the fear that was holding me back.(shakes her head) Never mind. I'm going to wait outside by the car. I'll see you in a minute?

Jeff - Yeah, sure, but I'm driving back!

Eve - Yeah Yeah.

Eve turns around to head outside. As she goes out the door we pan over to the side where we see a scrappy looking man we recognize as the scientist. He is sitting at a desk talking to another police officer. He holds up a vile

Scientist - I'm telling you this little baby is the most powerful form of tear gas in the world. One little vile and you can flush out a whole building

Officer - Look Mac, I'm sure it's really handy but you shouldn't be talking to us. You've got to get that stuff checked and legalized with a whole load of places before you can start selling it like you're doing right now

Scientist - Shall I demonstrate (lifts his hand to throw the vile down)

Officer - NO NO NO!!!! I'm sure what you have is very powerful but now is not the time or place for a demonstration. Why don't you come back tomorrow and we'll talk about how we can help you?

Scientist - (paused in mid throw) Fair enough.

The scientist pockets the vile and smiles. The officer leans back and sighs in relief as the scientist heads towards the door

As the scientist is at the door he takes the vile out and smashes it on the ground and disappears out the door before a cloud of smoke comes from the shattered vile on the ground.

Cut to outside. Eve turns around just as the scientist comes bounding out the door he pushes her out of the way and runs past.

Eve - Hey!

Eve looks back to see loads of police officers barrel out of the station coughing. Smoke comes out of the doors. As soon as everyone is out the doors are shut.

Eve - (eyes widen) Jeff? Jeff!!

Jeff comes out of the crowd over to Eve.

Eve - Jeff, what happened?

Jeff - (coughs) Some lunatic threw tear gas in the station.

Eve - (looks around) No one is crying?

Jeff - It still smells bad though. We'll have to open up the doors later to air out the place. I hope they do that before I go on duty tonight

Eve - So you got your schedule?

Jeff - Yeah

Eve - Well, let's head off. I promised Alex I would be back by lunch. You wanted to drive?

Jeff - (looks at the car uneasily) Uh yeah . . . I guess.

Cut to down the street from the station. The scientist looks out from behind a tree as Jeff and Eve get into the car. Jeff is still coughing.

Scientist - First stage of my plan is complete. The police are out my way. Now all I have to do is affect the Messenger and her god friend. Hah!

Cut to outside the centre a little later. Jeff's car screeches to a stop by the side of the road. Eve dives out the passenger side. Jeff jumps out the driver's side his hands spread out as a sign of distancing himself from the car.

Eve - Are you crazy?!? You're the one who is supposed to know how to drive!

Jeff - It's a trick you know!! Another way they want us to conform. They make us depend on this moving metal box. It's a symbol of the box they will put us in to remove our freedoms. (Eyes look widely about) They're watching. They know!

Eve - (looks at Jeff, confused) Who's watching?

Jeff - Them

Eve – (clearly dumbfounded) Right. I'm going inside now. Are you going to be okay?

Jeff - If I stay away from this (gestures to the car) thing. I'll be fine

Eve - How are you going to get home?

Jeff - I'll walk

Eve - You live ten blocks away!

Jeff - But I'll be still free! (begins to walk away)

Eve looks at Jeff walk away. She shakes her head and walks inside the centre

Cut to inside the centre. Alex is talking to another girl at the juice bar. Eve walks in and Alex looks toward her as she walks behind the bar. Eve still looks really confused.

Alex - Hey Eve! You look kind of upset. What's up?

Eve - (starts talking really fast) He tells me how important it is to drive and he freaks out when he tries to teach me then he turns around and ends up nearly killing every person we drive by and on top of all that he starts referring to a car as a metal box. You want to know what I think? I think that tear gas that was supposed to be tear gas that really wasn't tear gas messed him up more then he is letting on! (walks away from Alex and goes into the backroom)

The woman Alex was talking to looks at her strangely.

Alex - All I asked was what's up?

Cut to the backroom. Alex walks in just as Eve is coming down the stairs from her apartment after putting her jacket away. Alex grabs her by the arms

Alex - Whoa Whoa Whoa! Do you want to explain what's going on?

Eve - What do you mean?

Alex - I mean your little episode back there

Eve - (sighs) It's Jeff. Something happened at the Station. Some guy set off this tear gas. At least that's what Jeff said. But I think it affected him differently. He became scared of driving a car. He said it was metal box used to take away our freedom.

Alex - Sounds like some sort of conspiracy theory.

Eve - Jeff said his father talked a lot about conspiracies when he was younger. He ended up having a lot fears. But the things he was saying about the car, it was like his fear was amplified ten fold (starts to head out of the backroom with Alex)

Alex - That's really weird. And you say he started acting like this after some dude set off tear gas?

Eve - Yeah.

The scientist comes in the centre in front of the bar where Alex and Eve are. He has a crazed look on his face and a perfume sprayer in his hand

Scientist - Hello Ladies and how are you today? (doesn't wait for them to answer)That's great, glad to hear it!! How would you like to try an all new scent sensation? A new perfume for a new woman!!!

Alex and Eve both give a weird look to this guy. They have no idea who he is

Alex – Um, look, right now is really not a . . .

Alex is cut off when the scientist squirts some of the perfume on her then on Eve. They are thrown off by the smell and the scientist quickly makes his escape.

Eve is coughing and Alex tries to wipe the stuff off her face

Alex - Oh gross! What was that?

Eve - (fans a hand in front of her face) What a creep!

Alex - Blah. I'm going to the bathroom to see if I could wipe some of this off.

Alex walks to the bathroom. Eve just stands there waving her arms about trying to get all the mist evaporated.

A tortured scream comes from the bathroom.

Eve - Alex! (runs toward the scream)

COMMERCIAL

Cut to the bathroom inside the centre. Alex is standing up on one of the benches her eyes stuck on one place. Eve comes running in with a whole bunch of unknown people behind her.

Eve - Alex! What wrong?

Alex looks behind her and sees Eve with a crowd behind her

Alex - Eve! Get these people out of here now!! Quickly!!

Eve turns around and ushers the people out. A minute later Eve comes back in and closes the door

Eve – Alex, what is going on?

Alex points to a spot on the ground

Alex – What’s wrong? What’s wrong? There! That's what's wrong (clearly scared and upset)

Eve - (looks to the spot where Alex is pointing) What? I don't see anything

Alex - That spider!!!

Eve walks up closely to the spot where Alex is pointing and sees a black spot on the ground. She picks it up

Eve - Alex! It's a piece of black fluff.

Alex - (puts her hands down and relaxes) Oh.

Eve grabs Alex and pulls her down

Eve - Will you get off of there? What is going on with you?

Alex - I thought it was spider.

Eve - You flipped out!

Alex - Can you really blame me? Those disgusting little things with eight eyes, eight furry legs and . . .(makes clawing motions with her hands) claw like teeth. They're deceptive killers (walks out of the bathroom)

Eve - Has everyone gone insane?

Cut to Jeff's apartment

Jeff is in his apartment. He's made a make shift alarm system in his apartment consisting of string and bottles. We pan down to his telephone wire where we see it's been severed. We then pan over to his door and we see him setting up a bottle on the doorknob. We hear his cell phone ring. He screams and drops the bottle. He takes out his cell phone and it rings again

Jeff - Oh my god an instant tracker! They know I'm here. (looks wildly around him he then runs over to his window and opens it) Ah ha! (throws his cell phone out the window and shuts it. He turns back to his door) Oh no. Eve has a cell phone! They could be trying to track her too! And Alex! I've got to save them!!

Jeff grabs his jacket and steps over wires and dodges bottles until he gets to his door and heads out. Just before he closes the door behind him he turns up the collar of his jacket to hide his face.

Cut to the centre. Eve slams down the phone.

Eve – Great, Jeff's phone is disconnected and he is not answering his cell phone. Convenient and useful my butt.

Alex - What are you on about?

Eve - Something weird is going on. With both you and Jeff

Alex – Eve, I think you are over reacting about what ever happened with Jeff today

Eve - First, Jeff goes all weird and starts treating everything like some sort of conspiracy then you scream over a piece of lint. And it all happens in the same day. I think this is more then just a coincidence.

Alex - There's nothing wrong with me (spots a spider on the counter) SPIDER! (takes off her shoe and starts flattening the spider with it) Kill it! Kill it! Kill it! (Alex takes a deep breath calms down and puts her shoe back on) I'm perfectly fine. You know except for the fact I still smell disgusting. Stupid sales guy.

Eve - (contemplates for a moment) You know, Jeff said that tear gas had a bad smell before he started acting weird

Alex - Tear gas is supposed to have a bad smell. That's why it makes you cry. (spots another spider on the counter) Oh my god! They're everywhere!

Alex raises her hand it begins to glow blue. Eve sees what Alex is going to do and grabs her arm and pulls it down

Eve - (harshly whispers) What are you trying to do? Expose yourself as a god! What are you thinking?

Alex - I'm thinking I need to get rid of that spider

Eve - (looks around) What spider? There is nothing there. (grabs Alex and starts to pull her toward the backroom) I'm taking you upstairs before you blow up something in front of everybody

Alex - (looks at the backroom with fear) I'm not going in there! That is like a top breeding place for spiders!

Eve - MOVE! (pushes Alex through the backroom and up the stairs)

Just then Jeff runs in and collapses near the counter out of breath. Eve comes back out through the backroom and sees Jeff hanging off the counter

Eve - Jeff! (runs over to him picks him off and sits him down on a stool) Are you alright?

Jeff - (panting) Ran . . . . all the way . . . thought you might . . . be in . . . trouble

Eve - Why?

Jeff - Cell phone . . . tracking device . . . government uses them

Eve - (rolls her eyes) You don't have your cell phone anymore do you? (Jeff nods) Great (looks at Jeff still panting) Want some water?

Jeff - (shakes his head) Not unless it's been boiled. They put something in the tap water.

Eve - Is everything a big conspiracy with you?

Jeff - I'm not scared or anything just cautious.

Eve - Scared? That's right! Conspiracy is still a big fear with you! Spiders are a fear with Alex. Both of your fears are coming to the surface and are some how becoming obsessions with both of you. You became obsessive when you came out of the station when tear gas went off. Alex became obsessive when she got that bad perfume sprayed in her face (getting frustrated) What is going on?

Jeff moves around to the register, opens it up and begins holding twenty dollar bills up to the light. Alex comes in from the backroom just then with a canister of bug repellent.

Alex - Alright! Listen up. I need everybody out now!!

The crowd of people in the centre turned to look at Alex

Alex - I repeat I need everybody out of here now! We have an infestation this place needs to be fumigated

The people in a bit of a panic start filing out the door. While Jeff is still examining the money Eve looks on with wide eyes of horror.

Eve - Alex! Have you completely lost your mind? Where did you get that . . . (gestures to the canister) that thing?

Alex - This? Oh I had this lying around in case there was ever an infestation. And there is!

Eve - Of spiders?

Alex - Can't you see them? They are practically crawling in legions on the walls. Jeff can you see them?

Jeff - (is about to tear a twenty dollar bill in half) Nope

Alex - (grabs the twenty note from his hand before he tears it) Are you nuts? What are you doing?

Eve - Figures the only thing to drag Alex away from an obsessive fear is money

Jeff - There are strips in every one of your twenty dollar bills. It's a homing device. The government has a fix on wherever you are!

Alex - Who are you? The Lone Gunmen?

Jeff - And what do you think you are doing with that canister of bug repellent? Don't you know about the loads of harmful chemicals in these things? They get all over your food, into your water, all over the walls. People will touch it and they will die. This will kill everything in it's path.

Alex - As long as it kills the spiders in it's path I'm happy!

Eve is off to the side trying to calm herself down

Eve - Eli give me strength

Jeff - (grabs the canister, tries to pull it away from Alex) I'm not going to let you poison the air

Alex - (pulls it away from Jeff) I'm not going to let you let spiders overtake the centre!

Jeff and Alex keep pulling the canister between them until Eve comes between them and grabs the canister out of both of their hands

Eve - WILL YOU TWO KNOCK IT OFF! THERE IS ENOUGH VIOLENCE IN THE WORLD AND WE DON'T NEED YOU TWO ADDING TO IT. SO SHAPE UP!

Alex - Jeez Eve take a pill

Jeff - Yeah, what's your problem?

Eve - You two. Both of you have become obsessive over your fears. Jeff after the tear gas incident, Alex after the perfume incident. Two completely different incidents with two common threads, the smell and that it heightens fears. Jeff, what did that guy who dropped the tear gas look like?

Jeff - Long greasy brown hair. Glasses and a shaggy . . .

Alex - Beard! He was kind of scraggly looking. Had a kind of crazed look in his eye.

Jeff - Yeah!

Eve - He's the same guy who sprayed that stuff in our face. But why?

Alex - Wait a sec? How come you didn't get affected? He sprayed that stuff in your face too.

Eve - My greatest fear was becoming like Livia again. I've already over come it. That's why it didn't affect me. But why would he spray just us and yet get the whole police department.

Jeff - Do you think somehow he knows that with the police out of the way the next type of enforcement may be you guys. You guys are the only line of defense when it comes to the supernatural in this city.

Alex – “Conspiracy Guy” has a point. This dude could be in league with some demons.

Eve – Jeff, do you think we can go back to the station and see if he gave away any info to the police officers he was talking to?

Jeff - I'm not going back there. They're involved in the conspiracy.

Alex - And I'm staying here! I've got to get rid of the spiders

Jeff - Not with those chemicals you won't

Eve slams the canister down on the ground

Eve - Now look! I know you guys are affected but snap out of it!! We are going to the station. All of us. Now let's go

Eve pushes Alex and Jeff toward the door. By the door Eve pushes Alex out first. But Alex comes right back in a second later with her eyes wide and body rigid

Eve - What is it?

Alex - What ever that guy sprayed on me is really doing something to my senses. There's a big spider out there

Eve - For the love of Eli get over it!

Eve pushes her way out the door with Alex and Jeff closely behind

Cut to outside the centre. Eve, Alex and Jeff stop dead in their tracks, their eyes go wide, their mouths drop open. Alex looks like she's about ready to jump out of her skin.

Eve - Oh no!

Pan over to the other side of the street. A huge spider is walking through the park knocking over trees and smashing cars. The Mad Scientist is on top laughing wildly.

COMMERCIAL

Eve Jeff and Alex all stare up at the Giant Spider

Eve - That is one big spider.

Jeff - Government project on mutation!!!!

Eve - Alex can you stun the spider with one of your energy balls (Alex doesn't answer) Alex?

Eve turns around to find Alex backed into the wall. Her eyes are wide with fear and she is shaking. Alex slides down the wall and curls up in a ball. Her eyes are still glued to the spider. Eve comes over and snaps her fingers in front of Alex's face. Alex is frozen.

Eve - She's petrified with fear

Eve stands up again to see the spider coming closer. It squashes a car and that's when Jeff takes a dive in the bushes.

Eve - Looks like I've got to take care of this on my own.

As the spider comes closer Eve sees the mad scientist clearly at the top. Eve looks around her and sees a rock on the ground. She picks it up and throws it. It's aimed right at the mad scientist. It hits him square on the head. He is thrown off balance and he falls off the spider. Eve dodges the spider’s legs and rolls over to the Scientist. She picks him up by the collar. He's not hurt that much he just has a red mark on his forehead.

Eve - Sorry about that. But I didn't think you would come down if I just asked. Do you control that thing?

Scientist - Maybe. . .

Eve - (shakes him a little) DO YOU?

Scientist - Yes Yes I do I do

Eve - CALL HIM OFF

The Scientist nods quickly and brings out a little pitch flute. He blows a few notes and just as the spider is about to break a hole into the centre it stops and turns around and heads for Eve. It's just about to squash her but she jumps out of the way letting go of the Scientist

Scientist - (sarcastic) Oops! Sorry! Wrong notes

The scientist plays another few notes and it starts to go after Eve again. Eve begins to dodge the spider legs trying to squash her.

Eve - I could really use that chakram right now! (calls over to Alex who is still cowering) A little help would be nice!

Jeff pokes his head up from the bushes. While this does give Eve a little bit of hope it also distracts her for the moment and that's when the spider starts to spray some webbing on her. Eve screeches a little as she quickly gets wrapped up in the webbing.

Eve - (struggling before her head gets covered) JEFF!! ALEX!!!

Alex sees this and completely snaps of her fear. Just as Eve gets completely covered in a web like cocoon she is being picked up by the spider

Alex - EVE!!

Alex throws a streak of blue lightening at the spider. It drops Eve. Alex jumps over and catches Eve in her arms and sets her down by the centre. Alex begins to tear off the webbing.

Alex - Eww eww eww. Gross gross gross!!

Alex tears away the webbing and finally Eve's head is exposed and she can breath again. As she catches her breath Alex tears the rest of the webbing away. When the spider's shadow looms over them again. Eve and Alex both dodge out of the way.

Alex throws another streak of lightening at the spider. The spider screeches in fury and knocks Alex back sending her flying into the wall of the centre. Jeff sees this and panics

Jeff – I’ve got to help them.

Jeff runs into the centre. Cut to inside the centre. Jeff sees the canister of pesticide chemicals on the floor he runs over quickly and picks it up and runs back outside. Cut back to out side the centre. The spider just knocked Eve into the wall.

Jeff - Okay let's see these chemicals do some damage where it's supposed to!

Jeff begins spraying the huge spider with the pesticides. The spider begins screeching and squirming on the ground

Scientist - NO!

Eve - Jeff! Keep spraying! Alex throw a stream of energy into the chemicals path.

As Jeff keeps spraying. Alex throws the blue lightening into it's path. The spray of pesticides becomes a spray of fire. The huge spider catches fire and turns into huge ball of fire. When Jeff stops spraying the fire dies down and all that's left of the spider is ashes

Alex - (sighs while walking over to Jeff) They just don't make spiders like they used to

Eve - (walking over) Thank Eli for that. So Jeff, aren't you worried about the chemicals, what they'll do to the people?

Jeff - I was more worried about you and Alex getting hurt. Maybe these chemicals are a necessary evil. (thinks about it for a minute) Or maybe they're not like I thought.

Eve - Sounds like someone just got over their fear. Just like Alex did when she saved me from that spider

Alex - What I want to know is how come you can take on Lucifer but you couldn't take on a spider?

Eve looks away kind of guiltily and Jeff and Alex's mouths drop open

Jeff - You were playing us?

Eve - I may have held back a little. The reason why the spray didn't affect me is because I already faced my fear. There was something more important to me then what I fear. I knew I had to make you two see something more important to force you to get over your fear. I was hoping a friend in danger would do it.

Alex - Very clever. Someone has a little bit more of their mother in them then I thought

Jeff - (spies the Scientist trying to get away) Speaking of clever

Eve - (sees it too) Oh no you don't

Eve grabs the webbing that was torn off her and spins it around quickly. She swings the webbing around like a whip, it reaches the scientist and wraps around his leg. It's also sticky enough that it stays around his leg as Eve pulls him to the ground and pulls him back to her.

Jeff picks him up by the collar but the Scientist just whines

Scientist - You killed my little darling

Alex - Little?

Eve - Darling?

Jeff - You better hope I don't kill anything else of yours. You created a lot of havoc

Scientist - Okay okay. I'll tell you what, I'll go home and pretend this never happened

Jeff - With my precinct still suffering and obsessing over their fears? I don't think so. (Jeff squeezes a little on the scientist's neck)

Scientist - Or I could just take you back to my lab and I can give you an antidote

Alex - Plus making sure that Jeff, Eve and I aren't suffering from the previous spray you gave us.

Scientist - Yes, Yes of course!

Jeff - I knew you'd see things our way.

Jeff let's go off the Scientist and Alex begins to follow him back to his lab. Before Jeff and Eve follow Eve gives Jeff a chastising look about his actions with the scientist.

Jeff - Eve, it was a "bad cop" thing. It was an idle threat I swear. I would not have used real violence to persuade the guy. I was just . . . instilling a little fear

Eve smiles and gives him a little punch on the arm. He smiles back and they follow the scientist to the lab.

Cut to the centre that evening. Eve is sitting at the bar while Alex is talking on the phone to Jeff.

Alex - Every last one got the antidote? Your kidding, he just dropped another vile vanished? Typical. Yeah I guess it works out since you can't really charge him with anything considering the evidence turned to ash. Yeah, I don't think he'll try it again either. Okay, see you tomorrow Jeff. (hangs up the phone)

Eve - That was Jeff?

Alex - Yeah. Everyone's cured but the little jerk ran away again.

Eve - A saw a report about the spider on TV earlier.

Alex - It will blow over once the next wave of demons hits New York so I wouldn't worry. (looks at Eve's worried face) Hey, you are worried aren't you?

Eve - I was thinking about why that scientist chose to attack us with that stuff. I mean I can understand Jeff and the other Police officers. But why us? We have no connection with the law. We’re demon hunters. Why you and me? I mean, we can stop big ugly things but how did he know that?

Alex - Thuvan?

Eve - (nods in agreement) Thuvan

Cut to the dark scientists lab. A small TV is on.

TV Reporter - And thanks to these new growing endeavors and natural pesticides "Persephone" is becoming one of the biggest and most productive plant companies in the world. In other news, attacks of a giant spider earlier today have ceased. Was it illusion or the real deal? More news on this coming up next . . .

TV voice fades out as we pan over to the mad scientist propping his chin on his hand looking bored. He is singing to himself slightly

Scientist - (sing song voice) The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout. Down came the rain and washed the spider out.

Just as a hand reaches out and grabs him by the throat we pan over to who owns the hand. It is Thuvan in Craig's body

Thuvan - You failed! Eve was not affected by your fear serum!

Scientist - (strangled voice) She already overcame her greatest fear. No fear, nothing to stimulate. Why did you want to get her anyway? She doesn't work for the law

Thuvan - You fool. If the police didn't stand in your way then she would have and she did! I gave you valuable information and you botched it up. Now you will never take over the world with the spider that I helped you to create with the demon blood. And now Eve will be harder for me to destroy without her guilt of Livia plaguing her.

Scientist - It's not my fault. I made the fear serum. It affected everybody. I didn't expect her to overcome her fear. Just give me more demon blood I can make another spider and better serum. We can try again

Thuvan - I do not tolerate failure

Thuvan picks up the Scientist higher of the ground by his neck and snaps his neck
