We open with sunlight pouring into the window of Eve's apartment. We fade to where Eve is lying in bed asleep. Close up on Eve's face. Her eyes flutter open. She smiles brightly, stretches, and gets out of bed.

Cut to Alex's loft. The sun shines and lights up the whole loft. We fade into Alex's room at the foot of her bed. We can't see Alex yet but there is a loud groan. Alex slowly sits up. Her eyes are half closed, her nose is red, and her hair is sticking up on all sides

Alex - AH AH AHHH CHOOOO!!!! (sniff)

Cut to Craig's apartment. The sun is shining through the window. We pan over to where Craig is humming and making breakfast. The phone rings and he picks up.

Craig - Hello? Hi Mom! . . . Yeah, sure I'm fine . . . . No I'm not busy, why? (stops short) Oh no!

Screen is cut into three sections. Eve, Alex and Craig each have a close up

Eve - It's going to be a great day

Alex - It's going to be a bad day

Craig – This is a disaster!

Eve is downstairs in the centre early morning. The centre is open, but no one is there yet. Alex walks in, her jacket hanging off her shoulders. Her hair isn't sticking up but it's still messy. She slowly walks over to a stool by the bar and sits down. Eve has her head down reading a magazine.

Eve - You're late (looks up) AHH!

Alex - Wha!? What's wrong?

Eve - Alex, you look sick!

Alex – Maybe, because I am Einstein

Eve - You should go back home and get some rest

Alex – I can’t.

Eve - Alex, take the day off and relax. You have the perfect excuse to not come in to work today. Like that saying goes "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!"

Alex – It’s not possible.

Eve - Why not?

Alex - AH CHOOO!!!!

As Alex's sneezes and a glass filled with juice blows up and splatters all over Eve and Alex

Eve - Point taken.

Alex – Before I got here, I blew up my bed and my couch. I can't afford to go home and relax.

Eve - (gets a cloth and starts wiping up all the juice) Well, you can't afford to stay here and work either

Craig walks in

Eve – Hi Craig

Craig - We have a problem (looks at Alex) Wow! Alex, you look sick.

Alex - Thank you Captain Obvious

Craig looks at Alex for a minute and grimaces then looks back to Eve

Craig - We have to be on guard today.

Eve – Craig, do you ever come in and start the day with “Hi Eve, how are you? Isn’t it a lovely day?”

Craig – (looks at Eve blankly and deadpans) Okay. Sure. Hi Eve. How are you? Isn’t a lovely day?

Eve – (plays along) Hello Craig. I’m fine, thank you for asking. And yes, it is a lovely day.

Craig – Great, now that’s out of the way . . . My brother is home.

Alex - Oh this day just keeps getting worse

Eve - (confused) I don’t understand. Why do I have to be on guard?

Craig – Eve, my brother isn’t exactly a good person

Eve – At one time, neither was I.

Alex – Chris is a narcissist, a bully, a black magic junkie and a bad dresser to boot! He looked like a biker. And not like a cool biker, like dollar store Halloween costume biker

Craig – (looks at Alex confused) He wasn’t always that bad. I looked up to him for years. But something in him changed and he started hanging out with a different crowd. Alex is right about him being a black magic junkie though. He had no respect for the magic, but he loved the power, the high that came from some of the spells. Once he did one so powerful and so intoxicating that he didn't realize it was the summons of a demon. It attacked our family, and it would have killed all of us if it wasn't for . . . (trails off remembering the night it happened.)

Eve – I’m sorry you had to go through that.

Craig – Yeah, well, anyway, he left shortly after that, and it broke my mother's heart.

Alex - He left because he was afraid that Craig's grandmother would bind his powers.

Craig - But now he's back. Apparently, he got home last night. Mom says he's changed but . . .

Eve - You don't believe her.

Craig - As an alcoholic I know how hard it is to kick an addiction. But black magic addiction is powerful and more destructive. You can't just come back from something like that unless your powers are bound. If you still have the power, you still use.

Eve- Maybe he did get his powers bound. Maybe he has worked hard to get his problems under control. Now he’s back and he wants to reconnect.

Craig – Maybe he does want to reconnect, but Chris is power hungry. And you and Alex are both powerful people. Being in your proximity could tempt him back to getting high off black magic if doesn’t have his powers bound. I want to believe he's changed but . . .

Eve - People can change. I changed. I don't know why you're fighting this. You have a chance to make things right with your brother. I wish I had the same chance to know my brother!

Alex - (stuffed nose) It’s not the same thing Eve. You don't understand how bad he hurt Craig's family, how he betrayed them all.

Craig - He betrayed our whole calling, an entire legacy. Everyone in the Evans line was never to use the power for evil.

Eve – And I understand that you are still angry and hurt but what if your brother wants to make amends? Would you really deny him that after all you’ve done for me?

Craig - It's just . . .

Eve – There is chance for everyone here. For you to re connect with your brother, for your family to be whole, for your brother to make amends (perks up) Yes, he was a lemon but now you can make lemonade!

Craig - (grimaces)What?

Alex – It’s that stupid make lemonade out of lemons saying. She's been saying it all morning and it's making me sick as if I wasn't already

Eve - Give me a break will you. I’m having a good day.

Alex - AH CHOO!

The stool that Craig was sitting next to blows up

Craig - (jumps up) What the hell was that?

Alex - It's me and my damn cold. Every time I sneeze something blows up. I don't understand. Gods don't get colds

Craig - But you're only part god. This is the first time you had to deal with mortality and mortal problems since your godhood was activated. Your god genes are probably trying to adapt to the virus in your system.

Alex - Thanks for the diagnosis, Doctor Do – Nothing!

Eve - Let's just hope this isn't a new power she’s developing. Alex, Goddess of sneezing, can blow up a building in a single sneeze!

Craig laughs

Alex - You're a laugh riot, seriously I'm dying here.

Eve - Is it just me or is she snappier when she's sick?

Voice from outside - Hello! Is anyone in here!? Craig!?

Craig - Oh no, it's Chris! Damn! Okay, we've got to get you out of here. We've got to get Alex out of here. We've got (Chris walks in with a suit on and his hair slicked back) to get me glasses because I think I'm seeing things

Eve- You said he was bad dresser

Alex - I retract the statement

Chris - Hey bro! (a bit apprehensive) I'm back

Craig - Chris?

Chris - Like the new look?

Craig - It's different. How did you know I was here?

Chris – Mom said if you weren’t at your apartment you’d be here. (looks over to Eve) Not that I blame you. (smiles at Eve) The view is beautiful.

Alex – I’m going to be sick.

Eve – You are sick

Alex- Shut up!

Chris – (sighs) Hello Alex. Its nice to see you again (takes in her appearance) I guess.

Alex – (gets up off the stool) Listen Jerko, if you think I’m going to let you . . . ah AH AHHH!!

Eve and Craig lunge forward to stop Alex from sneezing but she is able to hold it and they both sigh relieved

Eve - I think I'm going to take Alex upstairs. She should lie down. Nice to meet you, Chris.

Eve helps Alex up and they exit to the backroom

Craig - So . . .

Alex - (voice from the backroom) AHCHOOO!!

Something in the backroom blows up

Chris - What was that!?

Eve pokes her head out of the door

Eve - It's okay. It is okay. I just tripped and knocked something over. Just a little accident. It's no problem

Craig - (turns back to Chris with a strained smile) Anyway. . . Uh . . . How've you been?

Chris - Changing.

Craig - So I keep hearing.

Chris - I don't blame you for thinking different. Black magic addiction is hard to get over.

Craig - You hurt a lot of people.

Chris - I messed up.

Craig - Messed up? You summoned a demon that nearly killed us. That is the price you pay when you use dark magic to get high. Except we all paid for it

Chris – Yeah, I know. And you're right! I'm ashamed. After I left, I took a good look at my life, and I was not happy. It took me a long time, but I finally learned to kick my habit and get back on the right track. (Laughs a little) I guess you could say life handed me some lemons and I made lemonade

Craig – Is that the saying of the day? So, you’ve given up using magic

Chris – Not completely but I don’t do any dark magic spells (Craig looks at him skeptically) I promise.

Craig - (sighs)We should talk more but I have to get to work. Maybe we can get together later at Mom’s. Have dinner?

Chris – I’d like that. Hey, maybe I can hang around here for a while. (smiles) I’d like to get to know Eve a little better.

Craig – You stay away from her!

Chris – Whoa! Hey calm down. I didn’t mean it that way. I was talking to Karen. Is it true? Is she the Messenger of Eli?

Craig – (avoids the questions) She’s going to be busy running the centre, especially since Alex is sick. Why don't you just go home. I'll call you later.

Chris sighs knowing Craig doesn't believe him but smiles anyway.

Chris – Okay, sure.

Cut to upstairs in Eve's apartment. Eve is ushering Alex into her apartment

Alex - I don't like him. He's sleaze. No, he's worse than sleaze he makes sleaze look good

Eve - Who now?

Alex - Chris. He’s a liar, he’s a bully and he disgraces Craig’s whole family with his use of black magic.

Eve – He could have changed.

Alex - Yeah right and I'm the tooth fairy. AHCHOO! (Eve's Eli symbol blows up)

Eve - ALEX!!

Alex – I’m sorry!

Eve - Go lie down.

Eve gently pushes Alex into her room and then walks out of her apartment back to the centre

Cut to outside the centre. Craig and Chris are standing outside as Craig goes to get in his car

Craig - Come on, I'll give you a ride to Mom's

Chris - Why? Mom's house is in an opposite direction to NYU. You’ll be late for work. Go on, I'll catch a cab to Mom's

Craig - Are you sure?

Chris – Yes. I mean it. I’ll be fine.

Craig gives one more skeptical look to Chris

Chris – Come on Craig. I know I have a lot to make up for but the least you can do is trust me to get back to Mom’s

Craig sighs as he gets into his car and drives off. Chris waves until Craig's car rounds the counter. As soon as the car rounded the corner Chris puts his hand down and glares

Close up on Chris's face as he rolls his eyes

Chris – Loser.

Chris turns around and faces the centre and blows blue dust over the entrance before strutting in

COMMERCIAL

Cut to inside Eve comes out of the back room into the centre just as Chris walks in.

Eve - Where's Craig?

Chris - He went off to work. But I thought I'd stay for a while,

Eve – Oh?

Chris – (smiles) Yeah. I’d like to get to know you better. I've heard a lot of interesting things about you.

Eve – I don’t know about that. I’m not that interesting.

We hear a sneeze and the faint sound of something blowing up from upstairs

Chris - What is that?

Eve - Nothing!

Chris – Is Alex okay up there? Maybe I should check

Chris walks over to the entrance of the backroom but Eve jumps in front of him to block his way.

Eve - You can't go up there . . .

Chris – Why?

Eve – You . . . You might catch her cold.

Chris glares at Eve but then smiles. He speaks in Latin and suddenly Eve is flung backward crashing into the boxes and crates in the backroom. She slips into unconsciousness. Chris walks over to her looking down upon her. He puts his hand on her head

Chris – Now, let's find out if you are really the Messenger of Eli and what kind of power you have.

We hear another sneeze, and something blow up. Chris turns his head toward where the sound is coming from. He looks back to Eve and then back to the stairs, his curiosity being peaked. He leaves Eve alone and ventures upstairs.

Cut to Eve's bedroom. Feathers and shreds of pillowcase are floating around. Pan over to Alex who is laying in Eve's bed looking a little upset.

Chris walks in

Chris – You okay up here?

Alex - (groans) Puleeze Chris I'm already sick and you hanging around makes me want to vomit

Chris – (looks around) What happened up here? (with a fake sweet voice) I thought you were hurt

Alex - I got upset with sneezing and shot a pillow. Get lost.

Chris – (chuckles)You always were a bad liar. You want to tell me what's going on?

As Chris moves slowly towards the bed, Alex tries to scoot away

Alex - Where's Eve?

Chris - Downstairs.

Eve - Not anymore

Chris quickly turns around to see Eve standing there

Eve - Get away from her!

Chris - I was just seeing if she was okay (walks out of the bedroom)

Eve - Are you okay?

Alex - I'm fine but where were you

Eve - Downstairs unconscious. I think Chris put a whammy on me

Alex – See, See. What did I tell you? He's sleaze (grabs her cellphone out of her sweat pant pocket)

Eve – What are you doing?

Alex – Calling Craig. Chris is still into black magic and Craig needs to be here to get him under control.

Eve grabs the phone out Alex’s hand and starts dialing

Eve – I'll call Craig. With your luck you’d probably blow this phone up

Alex – (lays back down) Good call

Craig (voice on the phone) - Hello?

Eve – Craig, I think you are right about Chris. He used some sort of spell to throw me into a wall with enough force that it knocked me out. When I came to, he was harassing Alex.

Craig(voice) - Okay I'm on my way. Don't let him near Alex. I'll try to be there as quick as I can.

Eve - I'll hold him off but please hurry. You know how to handle magic better than I.

Eve puts down the phone on her nightstand

Eve – Craig’s on his way. Stay here. I’ll deal with Chris.

Cut to Chris standing at the doorway of Eve's apartment listening in.

Chris -(whispers)I don't think so.

Cut back to the Centre. Chris runs over to the open window and blows some dust from his hand. We see the orange dust swirl out the window and spread out over the roads.

Chris - I think Craig is going to hit a little traffic jam.

Eve walks into the centre as Chris jumps down from the open window. Eve looks around and see that its still deserted with only Chris.

Eve – What are you doing?

Chris – Just closing a window. It’s a little drafty in here (sarcastic) Which is weird cause it’s such a busy spot.

Eve – It is slow today. I wonder why that is? Did you do something?

Chris – What makes you say that?

Eve – Craig told me you used to use magic. Black magic.

Chris – Not anymore

Eve – (sighs) Lie to your family, lie to Craig, lie to yourself if you must. But don’t lie to me. I see the truth in you. You may not use black magic anymore, but you still don’t respect it. All you want is power.

Chris - (looks at Eve and smiles) So it is true. You are the Messenger of Eli. You have sight and you have powers. It radiates off you

Eve - And it would not serve you.

Chris - (smirks) It doesn't matter anyway because there someone else I’d rather have this discussion with.

A blast comes from his hand which sends Eve flying into the wall. He runs over to her on the ground and punches her, knocking her out with one hard blow

COMMERCIAL

Cut to the centre. Eve is sitting there by the bar tied up with her mouth gagged. We pan over to Chris's back. He is stripping off his jacket to reveal a leather vest and white shirt. Then he takes his hands to his head and runs it through his hair really messing it up.

Chris - Ah! That's better! What do you think?

Eve just glares at him. We hear another sneeze from upstairs and something blows up

Chris - Well, if you excuse me, my date awaits.

As Chris exits Eve looks up on top of the bar and sees a glass. She turns around and bangs the bar with her feet until the glass shakes off the edge and crashes on the floor. Eve scoots over and picks up a shard of glad and starts to cut through the rope

Chris walks into Eve's room and sees Alex lying there. She sees him and her eyes narrow.

Alex - The return of the biker. What do you want?

Chris - Just to talk. You’re doing some . . . unusual things (moves closer)

Alex - Well you look unusual, what's the big deal?

Chris continues to advance on Alex but she quickly scoots of the bed into a defensive stance.

Alex - Back off Chris!

Chris - Or what? You'll give me your cold?

Alex - AHCHOO!!

A lamp shatters and glass flies everywhere. Chris ducks covering his head from the flying debris

Alex runs over and tackles Chris down. Alex is unusually weak so Chris can fight her off. His eyes glow red and suddenly Alex is thrown back off him.

Chris – I never liked you, Alex. You’re an entitled little brat. Everything came so easily for you.

Alex – (groans as she tries to get up) Well, you haven’t been around lately

Chris – Seems to me nothing has changed. So, let’s see what you are!

Chris advances on Alex with his hands open wide

Cut to Eve on the ground, hands tied behind her back. Close up on the glass shard breaking though the rope. Eve cuts through one strand and breaks the rest on her own.

Eve - (ungags herself) Yes (unties her legs and stands up looks around) Where's Craig? He should have been here by now.

Cut to Craig in his car. He is stuck in a massive traffic jam. He beeps his horn several times then slams his fist down on the wheel realizing he's getting nowhere. Right then and there he makes the decision and gets out of his car and continue to the Centre on foot.

Cut to Chris is Eve's bedroom advancing on Alex. Alex is about to throw a lightening ball at him, but it diffuses in her hand

Alex - Oh No!

Chris - (laughs) Looks like all your power is in the sneeze. Oh well, I can take care of that.

Alex is too weak to get up. He advances on Alex and grabs her around the throat. His hands start to glow. Alex looks at him prettified with fear. He is sucking out her life force. Chris looks at her in surprised

Chris - You're a demigod!

Alex begins to scream. Just then Eve jumps on Chris's back shaking him off Alex who slumps to the ground in a semi-conscious state.

Chris throws Eve off his back

Chris - What is your problem?!!!

Eve - I was having a good day! The sun was shining, I was healthy and happy, but you threw me into a pile of boxes, tied me up and punched me out. You are going to pay for ruining my good spirits!!!

Eve round house kicks Chris in the face

Chris - (unfazed by the kick) I'm in a good mood today too. I've acquired the powers of a succubus. Those black magic highs I've been on are nothing compared to the powers I've been stealing. I've learned how to get the ultimate power high!

Eve kicks him in the stomach then flips back and kicks him in the face sending him landing on his butt.

Chris - Okay little girl, that one hurt! Now you're going to pay!

Chris picks her up by the neck and throws her into her Eli shrine

Cut to Craig. He runs up to the centre he's about to walk in when he finds himself turning away from the door. He stops and looks back at the door. He walks up to it again and finds himself turning away. He put his hands up and moves them in a circular motion.

Craig - There is some sort of force field blocking the door (peers at the door closely he sees blue dust) You've thought of everything didn't you Chris.

Craig puts his hands up facing the door to the centre. He concentrates for a moment before speaking a few phases in Latin. Craig spreads his arms wide, and the blue dust is lifted from the door. He runs in

Cut to Chris in Eve's apartment. Chris is throwing blue energy spheres at her, and Eve is dodging them but just barely.

Chris - This God stuff rocks!!

Eve, out of breath leans against a wall. He walks over to her.

Eve - (put her arms up) In the name of Eli and all the powers in heaven I command this evil to be cast out!

A blue light comes out of her hands and passes through Chris. He looks stunned for a moment then smiles

Chris - That doesn't work on me! I still have a soul

Eve - However faint it may be.

Chris - I was going to leave you alone when I found out about Alex but now you've really made me angry (grabs a hold of Eve and starts sucking the life force out of her like he did with Alex)

Eve begins to scream.

Suddenly, Chris sneezes with such force he lets go of Eve and flies back to land on his back

Chris - What the hell?

Eve - Looks like when you stole Alex's power you got her cold too!(kicks Chris in the face and scoots away from him)

Chris gets up to attack Eve again, but he gets tapped on the shoulder

Pan around and we see Craig

Craig - Hi there!

Craig punches Chris in the face and then grabs him by the hair.

Chris - Not the hair! Not the hair! Bro, Bro, listen to me! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!

Craig - Shut up Chris! (puts his other hand to Eve's head) Let the power that Chris stole leave his body and make Eve whole

A blue light leaves Chris's body and seeps into Eve. She looks a lot stronger now. She grabs Chris from Craig and throws him headfirst into a wall knocking him out. Craig just looks at her

Eve - Don't look at me like that! He ruined my day!

Craig – Is Alex okay?

Eve – No, he stole Alex's life force too.

Craig – Alright, help me get him to Alex.

Craig and Eve drag Chris into Eve's room where Alex lay on the floor motionless. They lay Chris next to her. Craig put his hand on Chris's head then on Alex's

Craig - The power which Chris stole be returned to Alex and make her whole

Again a blue light streams out of Chris and into Alex. She wakes up

Alex - Wha . . ? What happened

Eve - Chris. He stole your life force.

Alex – (gets up with fury) Motherf . . .

Craig – I gave it back!

Alex – (stops short) Oh. (Recognizes something) Oh! Hey my cold’s gone!

Eve - AHCHOO!!

Craig - Oops! I must have given you Alex's cold when I was transferring the power Chris stole back to you

Eve – Well, give it back!

Alex - We can't for two reasons! One, we really can't afford more things to be blown up by me

Eve - What's the second?

Alex - You'd have to catch me first

Alex quickly runs out of the apartment

COMMERCIAL

Cut to Alex, Craig and Chris downstairs in the centre. Chris's hands are tied with a rope that is glowing slightly, and he is especially weak from the power transfer.

Alex – Are you sure that spelled rope will hold him?

Craig - My grandmother had a spell in her book for just an occasion. (looks to Chris) She seemed to foresee the path you'd go down. She'd knew you'd get the powers of a succubus, so she wrote a spell to overcome them. I just want to know how you got those powers. You don't become a succubus overnight.

Chris - Don't concern yourself with the business of scary people Little Bro. It's a road you don't want to go down.

Alex - Well thanks to you and that spell you cast over the centre I've had no business all day! For your sake, you better hope my business isn't ruined

Craig - Don't worry, I got rid of the dust

Chris - So it was a brilliant plan but we both know this (gestures to the rope) is not strong enough to stop me and you’re not strong enough to bind my powers

Craig – You’re right but this will last long enough for me to get you home

Chris - (Eyes widen) You wouldn't

Craig - The only person capable of stopping you now is Mom. She'll bind your powers for good. But it didn’t have to be this way

Chris - One thing you'll realize as you get older, is that power is the only thing that matters. Those with the power get to make all the rules and those types of people shouldn’t be anything less then what they are.

Alex - Well you're less than scum so the binding of your powers will be a step up for you.

Craig - Don't look so sad Chris. Look at it this way. This is the perfect chance to take the lemons life has handed you and make lemonade

Chris - I never did like that saying

Cut to Eve's room. Alex walks in with a box. Eve in lying on her bed without any pillows. Her eyes are puffy, and her nose is red

Alex - Hi.

Eve - I don't like you. Did you know that? I am really not liking you at all right now.

Alex - I know. I brought you something (pulls out pillows and puts them under Eve's head then take out a lamp to set it on the nightstand) Pillows to replace the ones I blew up and a new lamp. And I'm working on getting a new Eli symbol for your shrine.

Eve - Thanks.

Alex - Now remember, get plenty of rest and drink plenty of juice with vitamin c. And you know nothing has more vitamin c then citrus juice.

Eve - What do you mean?

Alex - (takes out a glass of lemonade) Drink up!

Eve just stares at it wide eyed and afraid.
