Open with a pan over New York city and more accurately Manhattan. Angle around the statue of liberty as the sun begins to set.

Fade to inside a tomb. A red portal is burning inside. We pan around the empty tomb to two demons. We pan through them to see them looking out over a cemetery as the sun sets. We pan around to face them.

Demon 1 – I’ve received conformation! It’s true. The Messenger has left New York.

Demon 2 - For good?

Demon 1 - It doesn't matter. We can use the time to capture souls, feed the hell mouth and let our number grow. If the Messenger ever does return we will overwhelm her.

Demon2 - What about the Messenger's friends, like the half god?

Demon1 - (smirks) They won't be any trouble. But if they try to stop us well . . . we’ll just let the children play with them.

The demon looks behind him and we follow his eyes to the hell mouth and pan over to the side where a dozen dinosaur like eggs lay. One of them cracks open.

Fade to the entrance of "NEW DAYS” centre.

Fade to inside the centre. We pan around the empty area. Alex comes out of the back room carrying a sword just as James finishes counting the money in the till. He closes the till.

James - There! Done! (makes a turn to leave the centre.)

Alex - Hold it! (James freezes) Where do you think you’re going?

James - (turns around to face Alex) Home?

Just then Jeff runs in looking panicked

Jeff - Alex? What is it? What's wrong? Your call sounded urgent

Alex - We three are going patrolling.

James – Patrolling for what?

Alex – What do you think? For demons! Eve may have left New York but that doesn't mean that the demons have.

Jeff – I don’t think I heard you correctly. We're going to what?

Alex – Patrol! Are you deaf! I hate repeating myself!

James - Are you insane?

Alex - (hesitates) Jury's still out. My point is, Eve's been gone too long now. The demons are going to realize this sooner or later and be out in force. I've been doing my best on my own but I need you guys to pick up the slack if were going to keep a lid on the problem.

Jeff - Do you even know what you are doing without Eve?

Alex - I'll have you know that I was doing this eight years before Eve came along. I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm a professional

James - A professional what?

Alex - Demon hunter!! (calms herself down) Look, I can't keep doing this on my own. I told Eve we would take care of things here. And when I said "we" I meant me and you guys.

Alex looks to Jeff and James for a little support but finds them shifting uncomfortably and hesitating to speak.

Alex - Fine. You don't want to help, don't help. No obligation, no pressure. I get it. Because Eve is not here it feels safer not to go out. But it's not safe for everyone else. Innocent people will still need help, you guys don't want to help, fine . . . I'll do it on my own. Because someone has to.

Alex takes a deep breath and heads toward the door.

Jeff - Alex! Wait!

She turns around

Jeff - You're right. I made a promise to you and I'll keep it.

James - (resigned) I'll help too. It's the right thing to do

Alex smiles and walks over to behind the counter and pulls out a broad sword and hands it to Jeff and then brings out a crossbow and gives it to James. James rolls his eyes and heads out. Alex grabs her sword and heads out with Jeff behind her.

Jeff - Major guilt trip though.

Alex smiles with smug satisfaction on the way out.

Cut to a cemetery. It is completely dark now. Alex Jeff and James are walking along on guard. They hear a scream. Alex is the first to bolt toward it. Alex is jumping over tombstones and heads toward a woman being strangled. We can't see her attacker. Alex jumps on to a tombstone and propels her self over to the attacker tackling and pulling him off his victim. James and Jeff run over and help the woman off who is coughing. Alex turns over the attacker and finds it is just a man is a leather jacket. The woman who looks like a hooker walks over and begins kicking him

Woman - You bastard! I told you I ain’t sleeping with no one!!

Alex pulls the woman away.

Alex - ALRIGHT! SETTLE DOWN!

The man gets up and dusts himself off

Man - Bitch!

Alex - Hey back off He-man

Man - Forget it! I'm outta here!

As the man walks off the woman shakes her fist shouting at him.

Woman – Yeah! Get the hell out of here you bastard! I hope you rot in hell!

Alex - Are you okay?

Woman - (whips around to face Alex) None of your business! (stalks off)

Alex - (yells after her) WELL YOU'RE WELCOME (to Jeff and James) I swear; no appreciation!

James - And no demons. What was that? The fifth false alarm tonight?

Alex - Well at least we're doing some good.

Jeff - Yeah, stuff that really should be left to the police.

Alex - You are the police!

Jeff - I'm off duty Alex. This kind of vigilantism could get me into trouble.

James walks off because he hears a muffling sound in the bushes.

Jeff - I'm here because of the abnormal stuff that goes on in this city and right now there isn't a whole lot of abnormal stuff going on at all.

Alex - We can't just sit back and wait for something to happen

Jeff - I don't see any demons around do you?

Just then James is knocked over a bush and lands on his back winded. He looks up at Alex and Jeff clutching his stomach.

James - Demon.

Alex - Told ya! Told ya they'd be out

A demon jumps out of the bushes. It's tall and green with a bald head and a third eye between his two yellow eyes growing a bright yellow before it disappears from its forehead. It's come to finish its job on James. Jeff quickly grabs the cross bow from James and promptly fires an arrow into the demon's chest. It staggers back a few steps, shakes its head and now advances toward Jeff growling. Alex picks up her sword and jams it into the demons head in between his eyes. She then kicks the demon down and it falls to the ground lifeless.

Alex - (to Jeff as she helps James up) Cycloptic demon. You need to strike its third eye to kill it. The third eye gives them advantages but it's also their weak spot.

Jeff - Oh

Alex - (to James) You okay.

James - Yeah

They hear another rustling in the bushes and stand on their guard as two demons come out. They are tall and green with spikes outlining their head and back. They are wearing regular clothes such as jeans, a tee - shirt and a leather jacket but their spikes stick out. As they finish pushing them selves through they stop short at the sight of their dead comrade and look up toward the three who did it.

Demon 1– Crap!

Demon 2 - Told ya. Told ya they'd be out.

Demon 1 –They’re not a threat

Alex – Hey! I resent that. I'm a huge threat!

Demon 1 – Word is out. The Messenger has packed up and left

Alex - Shows what you know. She'll be back soon

Demon 1 - Oooh I'm sooooo scared. In the meantime we plan to take advantage of the time that has been given and do what we've been sent to do.

Jeff - Well pack your bags because we're sending you right back to wherever you came from Mr. tall green and ugly

Demon 2 - (laughs) Do you really think you can survive without the Messenger?

Alex - (throws her hands up in the air) Why does everybody think we need Eve to defeat you guys? I'll have you know I was doing this eight . . .

Demon 1 - Blah Blah Blah. (calls behind him) Kids!

Three pint size versions of the two larger demons walk out the bushes. They are snarling beasts with bigger sharper teeth and they are foaming at the mouth.

Demon - Kids. Mommy and Daddy have souls to damn tonight. Why don't you play with the nice demon hunters until we get back?

Alex puts her hands out and begins to motion Jeff and James back slowly

James - What are those things?

Alex - Worse than dogs with rabies

Demon 2 - They grow up so fast don't they? Only twenty minutes ago they were hatching from their eggs and now their ready to eat their very first people. Okay kids! Playtime!

Alex - RUN!!

Alex James and Jeff bolt in the opposite direction. They run for their lives and the little demons chase them. They run across the cemetery. Alex is holding back a little to throw energy spheres at the little demons but she narrowly misses them. She calls ahead.

Alex - Split up! We can handle them better one on one!

The trio splits up. So do the demons.

Cut to James he is running through the woods trying to get away. He promptly hides behind a large tree and quickly loads his crossbow. He hears the snarling demon come closer. He steps out from the tree and fires the crossbow straight into the demon's chest. It falls down. James takes a deep breath and walks over to the demon slowly to check if it's dead. As he approaches the demons jump up and jump on him biting into his shoulder and tackling him down.

COMMERCIAL

Cut to the cemetery. Alex is running away from one of the demon children. She heads toward a tree and runs up it flipping backward over the demon child who runs into the tree and falls down. Alex uses this opportunity to bring out her sword. She slices right through the demons neck and its head rolls off its shoulders to the ground. Alex takes a breather when she's hears snarling again. She looks up to see the head still snarling on the ground and the demon's body getting up ready to fight again.

Alex - Crap! I forgot!

As the demon lunges for her Alex throws a big stream of blue energy at the demon child's chest. It begins convulsing and then blows up. She sees the head still snarling and she's engulfs that in a ball of flame turning it to dust. Alex hears a scream.

Cut to James screaming and struggling with the demon that's latched on to his neck. The demon suddenly gets a sword stabbed into its back. It let's go of James' neck and screams. We pan around to see Alex who has put the sword in its back. Alex picks up the sword with demon child still stuck on it and whaps it against the tree. The demon falls off the sword. Alex tosses the sword to James who catches it while still clutching on to his wounded shoulder. Alex has the demon's attention now. She steps back a few feet and makes a large sphere of fire in front of her. The demon child, being stupid, runs straight into the fire becoming nothing but ashes.

Alex - I hate demon children. I'm glad they’re so stupid.

James - Huh?

Alex - Demon children. Disgusting little creatures. They go from eggs to adults in a matter of hours. When they're young they've literally got no brains, all they know is "kill humans". You can use the no brain thing against them but they're not easy to kill. Even if you chop off their head, they'll still attack, if you want to kill him you’ve got the singe them into dust.

Focus on behind Alex where a demon child throws Jeff into a tree. Alex whips her head in that direction and throws a stream of blue energy into the demon child and blowing it up.

James – Just like you said.

Alex and James run over to Jeff. Alex helps him up

Alex - Are you okay?

Jeff - Define okay

Alex - No bites

Jeff - Oh well, in that case, I'm fine.

James – Alex, what happens if you have been bit?

Alex turns around as James moves his hand from his shoulder to reveal the demon bite

Alex – Oh no!

Alex rips away part of his shirt around the shoulder and looks at the wound.

Alex - No way!

James - What?! What is it?

Alex - We have to get you back to the centre and I mean like now!!!

Cut to inside the centre. Alex and James and Jeff walk in

Alex – Jeff, there is a first aid kit in the back room. Get it now! MOVE!

Jeff rushes into the back room

Alex - Take off your shirt!

James removes his shirt and sits on a stool while Alex gets some cloths out and rinses them. She wipes away the blood. Jeff walks in with first aid kit and gets out some anesthetic. Alex pours some on the cloth

Alex - This is going to sting a bit

James grits his teeth as Alex cleans out the wound but her surprisingly gentle manner surprises him and Jeff

Jeff - Where'd you learn to do that?

Alex - Before Eve came Craig and I had a lot of . . . mishaps. We acquired quite a few skills. (Alex looks at the wound and finds green ooze surrounding the bite.) I've never seen a demon do that before.

James - Do what?

Alex - These things are like hybrids or something. Only Poular demons inject venom into the wounds they inflict but never by biting

Jeff - Poular? We dealt with some of those a while back. Why are they called that?

Alex - Poular is French for pollute. A French Demon hunter in 1579 named them. His wife was injured by one. The venom over took her mind and her body changed into a demon. She began committing soul damning acts. The demon basically polluted her. It wasn't until 1913 that it was discovered that the blood from the demon that poisoned the person could be used to counteract the venom.

James - But you said these demons were like dogs with rabies. Am I going to get rabies?

Alex - Worse. You’ll turn into a demon

Jeff - Are demons like vampires and werewolves?

Alex - Sort of. When a vampire sires they have to drain their victims. The victims then have to drink the blood from the one that sires them. Werewolves just bite to turn their prey, if they don't tear them to shreds first. Victims of those attacks are reduced to instinct and impulse. Demons however, establish a connection with their victims. Once a person's mind is linked with these creatures their brain waves are altered to think like demons. They're consumed with desire, selfishness, anger, hatred and they act on it, willingly. They damn their souls. Evil is like energy. It feeds the hell mouths, which make more hell mouths, which produced more demons which in turn damn others and the evil spreads. Its a vicious cycle.

Jeff - I just thought they breed like rabbits.

Alex -Dammit! (Throws the cloth down on the counter) I can't get the venom out. These things were like a mixture of poular demons and those spike heads! Obviously Lucifer’s trying something new. It won't be long before the venom seeps in and begins to change you.

James - (begins to panic) What are we going to do?

Alex - We'll have to get blood from the adult demons

Jeff – We’re going after them again?

Alex - We have to. It's the only chance James has got

Cut to the cemetery. Alex James and Jeff are creeping along. They spot the two adult demons skulking around. They hide behind some bushes

Alex - There they are. Okay you two stay here

Jeff - Why?

Alex - James is changing. He might feel compelled to help his soon to be kin if I start fighting them. While he’s still human you can still hold him down while I get the blood.

Jeff and James nod while Alex begins to creep over to the demon. She then bursts into the run jumps up and flips over to the demon. The demon looks at her not at all phased by her dramatic entrance

Demon - Oh you're still here. (to other demon) Take care of her will you?

Alex – Oh come on! You could at least act like you’re a little threatened!

Demon – (with no emotion) Oh no Oh no. What do we do? (motions with his head for the other demon to take her down)

The other demon runs to attack Alex. As it sends a fist toward her Alex catches the fist and flips the demon over her shoulder. The demon gets up and runs toward Alex screaming. The demon comes at Alex with his fist raised to strike. Alex just jumps up and kicks his hand away sending him spinning back .Alex runs over, jumps up and kicks the demon twice in the chest. The demon once again advances toward Alex. She quickly spins around and hits it in the head with a roundhouse kick. In a last attempt, the demon charges full force at Alex arms flailing. Alex turned and ran half way up a large tree then bounces off and kicks the demon in the head and sends it flying.

Alex walked over to the demon lying on the ground. Upon approaching it the other demon comes up behind her with a big rock and knocks her out.

COMMERCIAL

Jeff and James watch from behind a tree as Alex gets dragged off by the two demons. James jumps out to run after them but Jeff pulls him back down.

James - What are you doing? Aren't we going to help her?

Jeff - And have you turn in the process? No way! We need a plan

James suddenly cringes and falls to the ground. James pulls away his shirt and sees green scales overtaking his shoulders and a spike beginning to emerge.

James - I don't think we have time to form one.

Jeff - Then we’ll wing it. (still sees the demons in the distance) Let's follow them but keep at a safe distance. We don't want them picking up our scent.

Jeff and James begin to skulk off after the demons.

Cut to inside a tomb. Alex is dropped to the floor with a thud. She opens one eye and looks around but quickly shuts it when one of the demons walks up to loom over her. We pan up to the see the demon looking at Alex.

Demon2 - What do you think we should do with her? We could give her to the children as food or maybe we can turn her and make her one of us

Demon1 - She's part god. Her immune system would fight it. I say we give her directly to our lord as a gift. That would definitely piss off the Messenger and put us in Lucifer’s favor. He’d give us more subjects to continue with our breeding programs. We only have the one batch and they can be easily killed. If we combine more strains of different demon blood together we can make an invincible demon.

Demon2 - Not that I doubt our lord's wisdom but wouldn't he just give her to Thuvan. He was the one who expressed an interest in having her. He has all these plans for causing pain for the Messenger.

Demon - But we would get the credit for capturing her. With Lucifer on our side showing support for our program we can get all sorts of demons to participate. Thuvan can do what he likes with her but think of the glory for us!

Pan back down to Alex where she opens her eyes with a very worried look on her face. She sees she's lying beside the hell mouth.

Cut to outside the tomb in the cemetery. James and Jeff come to a halt a few feet away from the tomb and crouch behind a couple of tombstones

James - What we do now?

Jeff - We need to get Alex out of there, we need to get their blood to cure you and I have to make sure that you keep away and not help the enemy

James - Lofty goals. Just how are going to achieve them?

Jeff - (brings out his gun) We create a diversion

James - But guns can't kill demons!

Jeff - Its not about killing them, I just need to distract them. I just hope Alex catches on.

Jeff leans over the tomb stone and fires his gun at one of the demons knocking it down, then shoots above the demon at a bit a loose rock. The bullet hits the rock causing it to slide off to fall on the demon.

Cut to inside the tomb. The second demon that was leaning over Alex was distracted. Alex takes this opportunity to grab the syringe that was in the pocket of her cargo pants and jam it into the demons foot. The demon howls in pain as Alex draws its blood. The demon looks down at Alex and kicks her off with the syringe. It flies out of her hands.

Cut to the demon that was buried under the rock. It pushes the rock off him and stands up.

Demon - Okay now I'm really pissed off!!

Jeff runs into the tomb and leaps on to the demon and pushes him down. Jeff is just about to snap his neck when he is suddenly pulled off by James

Jeff - James! Wha . . . What are you doing?

James says nothing but just punches Jeff down.

Demon1 - Hey! You're becoming one of us! Good for you!

Cut back to Alex who scrambles to get up and get the syringe. As she gets close to it and is about to pick it up she is pulled back by her hair by the second demon. He picks her up over his head and walks over to the hell mouth

Demon 2 - Time to go!

Demon1 - (whispers to James and pats him on the shoulder) We were going to gift wrap her as a present to Lord Lucifer but it's the thought that counts right!

James suddenly gets a vision of what looks like Alex being tortured. She is on an alter and a blue light surrounds her. She is screaming as a bright blue light looks like its being put into her by force.

Cut back to James as he looks at Alex being lifted over the hell mouth about to be dropped in. James breaks away from Demon 1 and tackles the second demon to the side. Alex falls from the demon's grasp into the hell mouth. She grabs on to the edge to prevent her from falling any farther. She tries to pull her self back up but she can’t hold on. Her hand slips. Before she falls any farther James grabs her by the hand and pulls her up.

James - I got you! Don't worry

Alex is pulled up back on firm ground by James. Demon 2, angry at this development runs toward Alex and James. Alex sticks her foot out and the demon trips falling into the hell mouth.

The ground beings to shake. James helps Alex up and pulls her away from the opening and they watch the hell mouth close up.

Demon1 - No fair!

Alex – And that’s what you get for under estimating me

Jeff comes up behind Demon 1 and snaps its neck killing it.

Alex – And my friends

Jeff just nods and scowls a little at James for giving him a black eye. James just shrugs!

Meanwhile Alex runs over to the far side of the tomb to pick up the syringe with the blood still in it. Alex injects the blood into to James' shoulder. The green skin begins to fade.

Alex - Feeling any better?

James – Well, I have less of a need to kill something

Alex - (smiles) Then its working

Jeff - What happened to the portal thingy?

Alex - The hell mouth? It closed. Every time someone does a good deed it erases a bad deed.

James – Just like that?

Alex – Evil is easy. It’s goodness that's hard. James rebelled against his growing demon instincts and saved my life. That took a lot of strength, strength from the heart. That act of good, closed the hell mouth. That’s why choice is so powerful; when you choose to do good you are at your strongest.

James – I closed a hell mouth? All by myself?

Alex – Yeah. (smirks)Not bad for an amateur

James – (smiles)I had to help you Alex. I had a vision you would be tortured if they threw over the side.

Alex - You didn't save me because you has a vision. You saved me because you care about what happens to me. Thanks.

James - (smiles proudly) Anytime

Alex - See what a great team we make. There's nothing we can't face

Alex, James and Jeff hear heavy breathing. All around them nine demons identical to ones just killed come out of the shadows. These ones are from the twelve eggs all grown up.

Alex, James and Jeff get in to a defensive stance.

Jeff - Okay Alex how do we get out of this one?

Suddenly a sharp object bounces of the walls. It slices off the heads of all the demons. It ricochets off a coffin, then of a torch, then off the far wall. Alex, James and Jeff move out of its way as it sails back. It’s a chakram caught by Eve!

Eve - (leans against the frame of the entrance to the tomb and points behind her) I believe you will find that this is the way out

Eve walks out leaving. Alex, James and Jeff with the mouths hanging open following her out dumbly.

Cut to outside the tomb. Eve is waiting for them as the trio walks out. They immediately run over and hug Eve

Eve - Whoa! Okay! Oxygen is becoming an issue!

Alex, James and Jeff let go off Eve as she takes a deep breath.

Eve - I take it you're glad to see me

Alex - Never leave again!

Fade to inside the centre. It's almost morning. Jeff, James, Alex and Eve are all sitting at the bar

Eve - I knew you guys would be out patrolling so as soon as I got back I grabbed my chakram and decided to track you down to see if I could help. I found you by pure chance

Alex – Well, not that we couldn't have taken care of everything but we're glad that you did find us.

Eve - (smiles) You're welcome.

Alex - So I take it everything in L.A. went well

Eve - Yeah it did. I think Raven is finally gone for good. I also realized that L.A. is not that different from New York and there are people there who are ready and able to take on the evil that breeds there as well. Mary would have died from the demons that attacked her if it wasn't for two men who had come to save her. Apparently someone got a vision and two men from this association got there in the nick of time.

James – Association? You mean people actually demon hunt for a living?

Eve - Yeah! Mary told me about several of these operations that take care of demonic cases.

Jeff - Like a demonic detective agency?

Alex - (snorts with laughter) What a stupid idea!

Eve - Speaking of demonic cases . . . How did things go here? Had an interesting night I take it?

Alex - Well no word on Craig or Thuvan. As for other demons, I think . . . (looks to Jeff and James)

James – (finishing the sentence) We did pretty well

Jeff – We didn’t think we could handle it without you but Alex is very efficient.

James – And she’s knowledgeable. I had no idea. The demons should be scared

Alex – Finally! Recognition!

Eve – (laughs) Then I’m assured that New York is in good hands! Maybe I should take more vacations

Alex – Don’t you dare!!

Everyone laughs

Alex - So do you need any help settling in?

Eve - No I'll be fine

Alex - Great! I'm going to leave you to open the centre while I get a little shut eye

James - Me too!

Jeff - Sounds good!

Alex, James and Jeff all leave the centre

Eve - Hey! Wait a second

Alex - (pokes her head back in the door) Come on Eve! If you can trust me enough to leave me alone in New York with a bunch of demons then I should be able to trust you with the task of opening the centre. I mean, it’s child's play in comparison. Have fun! (leaves)

Eve – (calls out panicked) Wait! This isn’t playtime!!!
