From "Past Askew Part 1"

Danny sits there as the phone rings. Confused he looks at the clock wondering who is calling at the late hour then picks up the phone.

Danny - Hello?

Voice - Danny Woo.

Danny - Yeah? Who is this?

Voice - Eve and her kind operate outside the law, they make a mockery of all you stand for. They only perpetuate the problem of demons, only keep things status quo so they can continue to have a reason to break the law. They are criminals. Will you stand for it or will you put them away?

Danny - I don't know how.

Voice - I can help you

Fade in with the sun rising. Fade to the sun rising up behind the Statue of Liberty. Fade to sun rising, shedding light between the many buildings of Manhattan. Fade to the rising sunlight pouring in through the window of Eve and James apartment. Pan over to Eve who is at the table asleep, books and papers spread beneath her. James comes out of his room rubbing his eyes and spots Eve. He walks up to her and pats her gently on the back. She wakes up and looks at James confused and then realizes where she is

Eve - Oh no. What time is it?

James - Early. Have you been up all night? (sees Eve nod) What have you been doing?

Eve - (rubs her eyes trying to get the sleep out of them) I thought if I wrote things down, everything that's happened, maybe find a pattern then I could figure what will happen next (sees James confused look) My powers don't seem to be helping at this point

James - Has the writing helped?

Eve - (shakes her head) I only keep thinking about that . . . woman, that dark figure. She seems so familiar to me. I think we've met before.

Fade to later on in Eve and James apartment. Eve has changed and showered as has James and they are there with Craig, Morgan and Jeff.

Craig - What do you mean you've met before?

Eve - I don't know Craig. It feels more like Deja-vu.

Morgan - (shakes her head and reaches for the coffee pot) I need more coffee.

Eve - She definitely trained Danielle as an Amazon. Danielle knew how to match and counter your moves exactly

Morgan - When we fought the Figure the first time she knew how to match and counter your moves too.

Craig - What about that prophesy Allison told you about?

Eve - It was a warning . . . "Every force and action has an equal and opposite reaction. The same is true for the Messenger." If this masked figure is my equal and opposite that would make sense but why train Danielle to be Morgan's opposite?

James - You know, Carrie disappeared the same night we met that Figure. She acted like she was trying to protect Carrie from me.

Eve - (hesitant) The events over the last few months have all been connected. Dr. Newman, Gawain, the hybrids, the figure, Danielle. Carrie's fate may be intertwined with them but lets not go there unless we have to. She was scared that night but don't think the worst yet.

James nods. Suddenly Gail, a girl who works in the centre knocks on the door and James answers.

Gail - Hey, guys, sorry to interrupt but there's someone downstairs who wants to speak to the owner.

James - I'll take care of it

James leaves as Craig, Jeff and Morgan start to gather their stuff.

Craig - I've finally got that antidote ready. We can change the hybrids back and take them to the hospital. Morgan, can you let me in the loft?

Morgan - Sure. I got a great cover story too

Craig - Cover story?

Morgan - You want to explain why they were in cages?

Craig - I was hoping we could knock them out before we change them back

Morgan - That's a good way too.

Jeff - I should be off as well. There's a couple of cases I want to get to work on.

Eve - Yes, I know. Life goes on.

Cut to downstairs in the centre. James walks in and there is Detective Sara Pezzini standing there waiting.

Sara - Are you the owner?

James - (confused) Is there a problem?

Sara - I'm Detective Pezzini. I'm looking for Detective Danny Woo. I know he was here doing some work regarding a kidnapping.

James - Uhhhh . . .

Jeff walks in from the backroom with Morgan in tow. They are holding hands but he drops her hand upon seeing Sara.

Jeff - Pez?

Sara - (surprised) Jeff?

Jeff - What are you doing here?

Sara - Looking for Danny. He's gone missing.

Jeff - (shocked) What?

Just then Eve and Craig walk out of the backroom. Eve stops in her tracks when seeing Sara and Sara stares back at her in awe.

*Flash*

Out of the dark mists of the forest two women warriors run to cross swords with one another. The Irish War Goddess Cathain clashes blades with Livia Champion of Rome.

Eve - (voiceover commentary) Long ago I was harsh and cruel. I never thought about the consequences of the cruelty I spread across the known world. I've learned that I have to live with the things that I've done. Over time I may be able to forgive myself, perhaps if I've balanced the scales. But these days I've come to find that I am bound to the consequences of my past actions. It has forced me to confront who I was. Sometimes I recognize it as a second chance to undo the evil I've done. But the pain of reckoning makes it feel like a curse.

Eve and Sara in the centre staring at each other in surprise and shock. Sara's bracelet glows and Eve sees this. She recognizes it and her eyes widen.

Eve - You . . . It's you!

Eve backs away slowly before turning and running into the backroom.

Craig goes after Eve. Jeff turns back to Sara

Jeff - Pez? Hey Sara!

Sara - Who was that?

Jeff - (confused) That was my friend Eve. Are you okay?

Sara - (jostled out of her trance) What? . . . Yeah, I'm fine

Sara regains her composure as she notices James, Morgan and Jeff look at her strangely

Sara - I'm just trying to figure out what happened to Danny.

Jeff - (turns to Morgan) I'll see you later. (Morgan nods and Jeff turns back to Sara)Come with me.

Sara - (looks at him confused) What?

Jeff - Take a ride with me

Sara - Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on?

Jeff takes Sara by the arm and drags her out of the centre.

Cut to outside the centre. Jeff is dragging Sara out of the centre and over to his car in the parking lot. Sara finally yanks her arm away from Jeff. He just nods his head over to his car.

Jeff - Get in.

Sara - No.

Jeff - (sighs) Sara, if you trust me, you'll get in the car.

Sara sees Jeff's pleading eyes and she relents getting in the car. Jeff gets in the drivers seat.

Cut to Eve who is upstairs in her apartment. Craig, Morgan and James walk in to find Eve flipping madly through Craig's spell book.

Craig - Eve? Eve! What are you doing?

Eve stops at a page and then slams the book down in front of the trio. She points to a passage and a picture

Craig - The Witchblade?

Eve - Did you see it? It was on her wrist. It was on that detective's wrist!

Morgan - Yeah. So what? It's a bracelet.

Craig - (shakes his head) Its not just a bracelet, it's a living gauntlet. It gives its wielder heightened perception, clairvoyance, the ability to manipulate time . . .

James - Where would a cop get something that priceless?

Eve - (turns her back to the three) I don't know but I do know her

Craig - (reads that passage in the book.) For thousands of years it has existed, an intelligent, symbiotic weapon of incredible power. A living gauntlet that becomes one with its wearer. The Witchblade: Only women of unmatched strength of mind, body and will have successfully worn it. Its legacy has created a warrior bloodline back through time and forward into the future.

Morgan - It sounds like the line of Messengers.

Craig - (continues reading) The current blade wielder is . . . Sara Pezzini. You were right Eve!

James - So she's some Warrior Cop?

Craig - She's had it since. . . (looks at the date in the book) 2001. Joan of Arc was a wielder and there are artifacts that were donated to the Pierpont Morgan Library's permeant collection for a Joan of Arc excibition. The Witchblade might have been there.

James - Joan of Arc! Who else wielded it?

Craig - Uhhh . . .(looks down at the list) Elizabeth Bronte, Florence Nightingale, Cathain . . . whoa! Eve, Cathain was alive and an active wielder in your time.

Eve - Livia's time.

Eve turns around to look at James, Craig and Morgan. We fade from Eve's face as it morphs into Livia's.

*Flashback*

Livia is in Eire or Ancient Ireland. She gets off her horse and enters a dark and misty forest, with Roman troops behind her. The horse gets spooked and runs away from Livia. The men grow quiet and stick close together as they enter deeper into the forest

Eve(voice over) - Rome wanted to set up colonies in Eire, I was in Britannia at the time so Augustus sent me there to forge alliances . . . We expected resistance from the Irish but they were fiercer then we anticipated. We heard rumors that they gained their strength from the Gods and carried great favor with Cathain. They said she was a war goddess. To minimize the resistance, I set out to put a stop to her. . .

Suddenly two of Livia's soldiers in the very back are taken out. Livia and her soldiers whip around but there is no one there. Livia looks around and motions for her troops to stay close together. They gather closer together Suddenly two more soldiers are picked off from either side of Livia. Livia unsheathes her sword and keeps on the defensive, her soldiers follow suit. As they look up one soldier is grabbed by the leg and dragged away screaming. When the others look to see where he has gone another solider is lifted up into the trees. The remaining soldiers gather around Livia forming a tight circle. We circle around the cluster of guards as one by one they are struck down, thrown out of the way and have their heads sliced off. With the last of her soldiers dead and gone, Livia is alone. She circles around, with her sword ready. It is deadly silent as she keeps calm but alert. Suddenly Livia senses something behind her. Eve swings around and clashes swords with Cathain and the Witchblade.

Livia and Cathain battle with each other. Blocking, striking and clashing blades. As Cathain swing the Witchblade at Livia, she rolls her self back ducking under the blade completely. Livia brings her sword around with her as she attempts to slice Cathain across the middle. Cathain dodges out of the way. Livia swings around again and tries to strike Cathain at the knees but Cathain blocks the blow with the Witchblade, deflecting Livia's own sword and knocking it out of her hand. Cathain strikes at Livia again but Livia jumps up and flips over the blow. Livia picks up her sword and puts it over her back to block and deflect the Witchblade. Livia swings around again and her and Cathain clash blades. Livia pushes Cathain back so hard the Cathain stumbles back a few steps and leaves her self wide open. Livia flips over and puts her sword at Cathain's neck. Cathain looks surprised and slightly amused.

Livia - You took out my soldiers.

Cathain - You entered my forest.

Livia - So you're Cathain. Your fighters are putting up quite the resistance to the civilization that Rome can offer.

Cathain - They fight for freedom. It is their own will and power that wins the battles, not mine.

Livia - (scoffs) But they fight in your name. We can have a peaceful resolution without more bloodshed. But you need to tell them to lay down arms and cease with this resistance against me

Cathain - We don't resist you. It's Rome we resist

Livia - I AM ROME (presses the blade a little harder against Cathain's neck)

Cathain hits Livia's sword away. Livia backs away with her sword ready for another fight.

Cathain - You are formidable. I can see you are destined for great things.

Livia - I am to rule an empire!

Cathain - (smirks) What you are destined for is beyond my sight even with the Lann.

Livia - Are you an oracle?

Cathain - (lifts the Witchblade as it morphs back into a simple bracelet)The Lan allows me to see many things but not everything. Empires rise and fall. Rulers come and go. Why are you so intent on forcing the will of a foreign land on a people that will continue to exist long after your empire has fallen and is nothing more than memory.

Livia swings around to bring her sword around and slice Cathain's head off but Cathain has the Witchblade already up and blocking Livia's blow. Cathain stands there smiling and unfazed by Livia's attack.

Cathain - (nods) Now I see. Your needs are childish. You need to prove you're worth something because you've been made to believe you are nothing. Because you are nothing.

Livia - (tries to strike at Cathain but is blocked) I AM ROME! I AM POWER! YOU ARE NOTHING! NOTHING!!

Livia screams as she moves to strike Cathain down but Cathain sees the blow coming and kicks the sword out of Livia hand and knocks her to the ground. As Livia tries to get up, Cathain sticks the Witchblade to her throat.

Cathain - (stares at Livia with confusion) There's something about you Roman. You should be my enemy and yet, I feel I must help you. Your destiny is great. You are a fighter now, a mere soldier but I can teach you to be a warrior. I can help you rise as a true leader that the people would follow willingly as they have me. But power such as this comes with a price. Are you prepared to pay it?

Livia - Yes!

Cut to Cathain's hand as she bends down to help Livia up. Livia grabs her hand and is pulled up.

Cathain - Then let us begin.

*End Flashback*

Fade back to the present in Eve's and James apartment. Craig, Morgan and James are there looking at Eve as she explains another chapter of her dark past.

Eve- So Cathain trained me, taught me all she knew and I used that knowledge well. I had power, I had glory, I had people at my beck and call. My name spread across the lands and yet I was still empty inside. Cathain was right. I was nothing.

Craig - (sighs)Cathain saw glimpse of your destiny. And she did show you how to be a true leader one that we do follow willingly.

Eve - We weren't friends Craig. I used her for my own purposes at the time.

Craig - But Sara is a different wielder, she has no knowledge of this.

Eve - If the Witchblade can do all that is said of it, then she knows. She already suspects. You saw her face when she saw me. And if she does figure it out then yet another enemy of Livia has resurfaced and we will have to contend with her as well as the Figure!

Cut to Jeff and Sara driving along the streets on New York. It's very quiet and Sara gets impatient.

Sara - Are you going to tell me what's going on?

Jeff - (sighs)I don't know where Danny is. We haven't spoken since Morgan's kidnapping

Sara - Why? What happened?

Jeff - It sounds crazy

Sara - Try me.

Jeff - (hesitates)I've seen evil Sara. Real evil. I don't talk about it because I don't want the people I care about getting involved in it. When Danny agreed to help me find Morgan, I knew he would be confronted with the kind of things I deal with. . . I thought he could handle it.

Sara - None of this explains why he's gone missing.

Jeff - I've seen people lose their minds after seeing the kinds of things I have. There is a world of evil that operates out of the bounds of law and order and I think it killed a part of him to discover it all. He feels betrayed and not just by me, by this whole city.

Sara - What the hell are you talking about?

Jeff - Evil Sara! Real evil and the system in place can't fight against it. In order to protect people I've had to step beyond the limitations of that system . . .

Sara - (disbelief) You break the law?

Jeff - I don't break the law Sara because there are no laws to deal with this kind of evil. The things I deal with do not function within the normal bounds of society.

Sara - (getting angry) Well neither do the criminals but that's why there is us! We enforce law, bring justice!

Jeff - (skids to a stop in front of a cemetery) Pez, all the officers in the city and a maximum security prison wouldn't be able to hold what I deal with!

Sara - What is "it" Jeff? What do you deal with?

Jeff gets out of the car and walks into the cemetery. Sara gets out of the car and follows after him.

Sara - HEY MORRISON I'M TALKING TO YOU!!!

Jeff finally stops in front of a tomb at a cemetery and looks at Sara. She looks at him out of breath and confused.

Sara - You rob graves now?

Jeff - I don't know where Danny is. I hope he's somewhere safe. I hope he's trying to deal with what he saw because it changed him. Anyone would be changed after seeing this

Jeff opens the tomb door and jumps in. Sara is stunned. She looks around before relenting and jumping in after him.

Cut to the inside of the tomb. Demons of all shapes and sizes are suddenly waking up due to the intrusion.

Sara - (shocked) What in the . . .?

All of the sudden the demons all attack Jeff. Two sharp blades eject from the gauntlets on his wrist. Jeff ducks, severs, and spins around. He dodges the attack from the demons by cutting of their limbs. He then cuts of their heads. He misses one demon though. As it comes up behind him Sara appears with the Witchblade and cuts off the demons head. Jeff turns around as the demons head falls to the ground. He sees the Witchblade in full form on Sara's hand.

Jeff - Whoa.

Sara - (referring to the Witchblade) You can see this?

Jeff nods surprised. Sara looks around at the dead demon bodies. She looks at Jeff

Jeff - I didn't want to bring you into this but I needed you the understand. This is what Danny faced when we went up against Morgan's kidnapper.

Sara shakes her head and walks out of the tomb. Jeff follows her.

Cut to outside the tomb. Jeff runs up and catches Sara by the arm.

Jeff - Sara . .

Sara - (whips around) You brought Danny into a . . .to whatever the hell this is! YOU HAD NO RIGHT!

Jeff - I didn't want to! I don't want anyone I care about in this supernatural war! I know what its like to have your entire world upended in one night! I had to learn how to deal and accept it pretty fast if I wanted to continue to protect people! (defeated)I thought Danny could handle it. I was wrong.

Sara - The world's gone insane!

Jeff - Sara. . .

Sara - So you're a monster hunter? Why? Why would you risk your life, break the law to fight them?

Jeff- Because who else will? I trained to be a cop. I wanted to protect people and make a difference. Then I saw a good friend get killed by a demon and realized that there was a much greater evil that this city needed to be protected from. So I took a new oath and started to fight for this city on my own terms. I can still protect people and I can still make a difference but I have to fight the world that lives in shadow.

Sara is silent for a moment. She looks at the Witchblade that had morphed back into a bracelet. She takes it off and tosses it to Jeff. He catches it and holds it up confused.

Jeff - This was on your wrist earlier?

Sara - It's called the Witchblade. You're right Jeff, there is evil in this world. I don't know what the Witchblade is but it helps me fight that evil and then use the law to bring them to justice.

Jeff - You think what I'm doing is wrong?

Sara - You're damn right I do. Vigilante justice is not the way!

Jeff - Then tell me how you'd fight the creatures we just fought against. (tosses the Witchblade back) Would you just let them tear people to shreds or would you use this thing against them, kill them before they kill anyone else.

Sara - (catches the bracelet to put back on her wrist. She hesitant) How many more of those things are out there?

Jeff - More than you can imagine

Sara - (sighs) I've been keeping things from Danny too. The Witchblade is one of them. Its not on purpose. Things happen that I can't explain. Sometimes I think I'm losing my mind. (looks to Jeff and laughs wryly) You might be the first person to understand.

Jeff - There's someone else who would understand, maybe even more than me. Eve. (Sara looks up at Jeff and he nods) You know her don't you?

Sara - (nods) I don’t know how. But I do.

Jeff - So how long have you had this thing, the Witchblade?

Sara - Since 2001. I still have no idea why I was chosen to wear it. I've seen a lot of strange things since but I got to level with you though Jeff, this is by far the weirdest.

Jeff - So can you understand why Danny would breakdown. It may be the reason behind why he is missing

Sara - I need to find him.

Jeff - And I want to help you. Danny is my friend too. I have to help and if he's caught is some supernatural mayhem, Eve can help too. She may be the only one who can.

COMMERCIAL

Cut to later in Eve's apartment. Sara is almost laughing looking at Jeff and Eve incredulously

Sara - I'm supposed to believe that you're some 2000-year-old profit brought back to life so you can save the world from evil?

Eve leans against the back of the couch, arms crossed in front of her silently accepting Sara's verbal attack. Jeff is trying to calm her down.

Jeff - I know it's hard to accept . . .

Sara - No, believing in ghosts is hard, believing that God exists is hard, this is impossible! (turns to Eve) So what are you? Some sort of Messiah?

Eve - I think you're confused.

Sara - Enlighten me, I'm stupid

Eve - The details of how I came here are complicated but also irrelevant. What is important is why.

Sara- Right, I forgot. You're in some sort of timeless war with evil.

Jeff - Sara!

Sara - (sarcastic) And you've been doing a great job fighting it! Kids murder kids, a pregnant woman does smack, the air is poison, the water is poison, terrorism is rampant! The whole human race is insane!

Eve - Yes it is! But I've seen a world where I don't fight evil and it is much more frightening in comparison

Sara - Oh please . . .

Eve - You cannot tell me that this is impossible to believe when you wear the Witchblade

Sara looks to Eve in surprise. She holds up the wrist the bears the Witchblade as it glows. She looks to Eve again. Her look hardens as she tugs at her sleeve to cover the Witchblade.

Sara - That's beside the point! How do you know about this thing anyway?

Eve - I knew Cathain. Your predecessor.

Sara - Were you friends?

Eve - No

Sara - Were you enemies?

Eve - Yes

Sara - Are we enemies?

Eve - I don't want to be

Sara turns away and lets out a frustrated sigh

Sara - I think my head's going to explode.

Eve - I can understand your anger but I don't understand why its directed at me.

Sara - My partner is missing because he got caught up in your supernatural war!

Eve - Its not my war! I didn't bring this upon humanity. They've done that all on their own. I'm just one of a few people to accept it and have resolved to fight it!

Sara - How do I know you're not all crazy?

Jeff - Come on Sara. You know me! You know I would not fight for something I did not believe in, or fight for something ridiculous on a whim.

Sara - (relents a little) Yeah I know. God, if I didn't know you were such a good cop, I never would've believed that you fight monsters at all. Then you take me to that pit . . .

Eve - It was a nest, they're called demons and Jeff shouldn't have taken you there. It was dangerous

Sara - (laughs at the ridiculousness on the situation) Right. Well, let's say for a minute that I do believe in "demons." I don't like the way you go about trying to "save the world." You act outside of the law, you break the law! That makes you no better than the bad guys.

Eve - Christens were an outlawed cult. Robin Hood was an outlaw for stealing from the rich to give to the poor. Joan of Arc was burned for trying to save her land from a foreign army. Why am I so wrong?

Sara - Because you haven't done any good at all!

Eve stands up straight and advances on Sara. She comes toe to toe with her but Sara stands her ground. Jeff steps up a little to intervene if need be.

Eve - What would you have me do? What should I do? I am not all powerful! I am not a god. I am not like you! I don't have a mystical weapon to wield around! My powers are locked inside my head and I don't know how to use them. I have nothing to guide me! So I use what I have and fight for peace the best way I know how! I protect choice!

Sara - Choice?

Eve - Yes. The only weapon normal people have. Choice is the line between right and wrong. It distinguishes us from animals. It is a catalyst for change. So many people think they have no choice. They believe all they have is one moment to the next. That belief drives so many to acts of evil. I try to help them, show them another way, that there is more fulfilment when you help someone rather than yourself, that change can come from the smallest act of good.

Sara - (slightly affected) Maybe you should try a new tactic because . . .

Eve - BECAUSE NO ONE LIKES BEING PREACHED TO, I KNOW!! (Sara looks at Eve shocked and Eve turns away) So people keep telling me. But I would rather talk to people to help them choose another path rather than beat them into submission. That is the tactic of a tyrant, of a monster.

Jeff - And we have helped Sara. Ronan, that cult leader a few years back that went insane. She saved him. She gave him back his life and his family. Those world leaders that were kidnapped from that summit, I saved them from being sacrificed. That gang of robbers who sold guns to kids, Eve saved the bank and stopped the gang. Eve and a couple others have put together this centre to help people better themselves. Eve finds these people, she brings them here and organizes all this around them to help. They're small things. But imagine if everyone did something small for someone else. But compassion is a rare trait these days

Sara - (affected) I uh . . . I'm just worried about Danny. He's got a family too and he's been missing for a while and if he is caught up with these . . . demons . . . or running away from them . . . I'm just afraid he's in trouble.

Eve - (quietly) The Messenger of Eli is charged with the protection of the human race. (turns around to face Sara again) You may be right. Danny may be caught up in a "war." A person who seeks to destroy all good may have him. I believe we should start with trying to find Danielle, the woman who kidnapped Morgan.

Sara - Why?

Eve - Danielle is involved with this Masked Figure. And Danny goes missing after a case involving the both of them? Its connected.

Sara - (nods) Okay.

Eve - Sara . . . you are right. There is more evil then I know what to do with and I should be anywhere else trying to prevent it. But there is work to be done here first. This person works for Lucifer and she must be defeated. I must see that through otherwise she will undo all the good that has ever been done.

Sara - Then lets get started (sticks out her hand)

Eve moves forward to take Sara's hand. As they touch Sara gets a vision from Eve's life. Her crimes as Livia, her path of redemption as Eve, the hurt the sorrow, the anger, the battles and her mission in the 21'st century.

*Flash*

Livia cuts the head off a villager

Before killing her mother Livia is touched by the light of Eli and saved

Livia - (profoundly affected) What have I done?!

Eve walks in the desert punishing herself for what she's done

Eve is converted by The Baptist

From "Path of Vengeance"

Varia - This woman has pleaded guilty to her crimes. Even she admits she can never do enough good to erase the evil that she has done and yet, she's willing to keep trying. As queen of the Amazon nation I hereby sentence Livia, the killer of the Amazons to death so that Eve, the messenger of peace may live.

Eve -I know what I have to do. I've decided to go east, to Chin and the land of Indus. Eli's message will be heard.

From "Promise of a New Day"

Eve - 2001. A new day, a new time, a new beginning. (she nods to herself and turns to Craig and Alex) I'm not sure of my purpose here or what Eli has planned but I will see it through. I will make a promise just as you have to help the people here and work to make the future better.

From "Destiny"

Raphael - We knew the line of Messengers would end one day. That is why your life-force was preserved for a time when it was most needed. You are here to save the people with love and begin again the line of Messengers

*End Flash*

Sara falls back away from Eve. She snatches away her hand as if she has been burnt. The Witchblade on her wrist glows and she stumbles back out of breath.

Sara - What was that?

Eve - Jeff, quick get her some water

Sara sits down at the kitchen table as Jeff hands her a glass of water. She sips it slowly and looks up at Eve amazed

Sara - I saw you. I saw your past. Oh god, you really are from the past aren't you? You were a murderer.

Eve - (swallows hard) Yes

Sara - But you changed. That's why you help people. You believe they can change because you did

Eve - Sometimes all people need is a second chance.

Sara - (smiles a little) You get a lot of flack but you keep trying.

Eve - So do you. (puts a hands on Sara shoulder) Cathain and I were not friends. I cannot undo what I did to her and her people. Perhaps if I help you I can make up for it. If you'll let me.

Sara - (nods and smiles) I could use the help. (sarcastic) Nothing like another "Warrior of God" to really sort out the bad guys huh?

Eve and Jeff smile

Fade later at the 11th precinct. Sara Jeff and Eve walk in and look around.

Jeff - Wow! It's been a while since I've been in this place.

Sara sees her partner Jake McCarty, over the crowd and waves him over.

Sara - This is Jake. He's worked with Danny and me these last few years. Jake, this is Eve and an old partner of mine Jeff.

Jake shakes Jeff's hand then Eve's. Eve however, stares off a little into space as she sees an old man with scraggily hair go past.

Jake - Are you okay?

Eve - (turns back) Who was that?

Jake - (watches the old man walk out) Oh, his name's Lazar. He's a homeless man who comes in sometimes to get out of the cold. You know him?

Eve - Oh no, it's just . . .I don't know, there is something different about him. I can't explain it, it was just a feeling

Jake - (trying to be funny) Yeah, Sara gets all spacey when she sees him too. (to Sara) Old boyfriend?.

Sara - Shut up Jake. (to Eve and Jeff) Lets go into the office for a second.

Cut to inside the office.

Jake - Look I'm not entirely comfortable letting civilians help on cases but if you have any tips that could help us . . .

Jeff - Well, we have what could be a lead. Danny helped me with a case. One on my friends was kidnapped . . .

Jake - (looks through the files) That's not on record

Jeff - The kidnapping was one of my cases. I'm a Private Investigator

Jake - But Danny helped you with our resources.

Sara - Jeff used to be one of us, any help we can give him that puts another bad guy behind bars is us continuing to do our job.

Jake - You think the person that kidnapped your friend, kidnapped Danny?

Eve - A woman named Danielle was involved. She has . . .allies. They can be very persuasive in getting people to follow them. We have reason to believe Danny may be caught up in it. We need all information we can get on Danielle Clemont. She could lead us to the person were looking for and that could lead us to Danny.

Sara - So what do you think?

Jake - Not solid but it's a start.

Sara - Good. Jake work with Eve. Jeff you come with me, we'll see what we can dig up. And Jake, don't let me find out you've been hitting on this chick.

Sara and Jeff smile as they walk out and Eve looks back to Jake. Eve sits down next to Jake as he starts typing.

Eve - I'm not sure you'd find anything about her in local files. She not from New York, or even from America. She's been living in the UK.

Jake - Let's try something basic and just Google her

Eve - What her?

Jake - Google. It's a search engine

Eve - Oh. Yeah.

Jake - (looks at Eve and smiles) You are kind of cute

Eve - (smiles a little) Just check out the search engine and stop checking out me.

Jake types in a few words and clicks the mouse a few times. He's eyebrows knit up in confusion.

Jake - That's weird

Eve- What?

Eve - Even is she was using an alias, Google turned up nothing. Hold on, I'll try a search through a federal database. Can you tell me anything about her? A description

Eve - Um, Caucasian, mid to late thirties, dark hair, average height

Jake - (types in as Eve speaks) Damn, there are thousands or records matching that description but nothing matching the name. This is weird. Is there anyone related to her that we can search?

Eve - Roger Clemont. That's her father

Jake - (types in a few things and some info comes up) Wow. This guy is rich. British. Comes from old money but runs successful businesses, lots of articles related to that. Surprisingly clean. Divorced twice. No mentions of any other family

Eve - No other family! He had four children! Danielle is his daughter! She's real. I've seen her. One of my best friends was kidnapped and hurt by her. There has to be something. Anything!!

Jake - (at a loss) I don't know what to tell you. It's like anything about Danielle Clemont has been scrubbed.

As Jake reaches past Eve to get a pen he brushes past her. Eve feels a sensation come over her and has flashes concerning Jake. She looks like she's about to faint but shake herself out of it. She looks at Jake

Jake - What's wrong?

Eve - You're not who you say you are.

Jake - (nervous) What?

Eve - FBI?

Jake - (eyes widen in surprise) How'd you know that?

Eve - I should go (moves to go out of the office)

Jake gets up from his desk and runs to the door and slams his hand on it preventing Eve from leaving

Eve - You're going to let me leave or you'll wish you had

Jake - No one can know about this! I'm under deep cover.

Eve - I trying to help find a friend, your friend at that and you're reluctant to help! You didn't even try to find anything.

Jake - (Eve tries to go but Jake stops her again) What do you want me to do? It's hard to get information from other countries. It could take weeks. And I have to keep my head down here so I can get to the bottom of something bigger. You can't tell anyone.

Eve - I'm not here to blackmail you. I just want to find Danny.

Jake - (reluctant but agrees) I have some connections that can dig deeper but you need to give me a little time.

Eve - We may not have much time. (relents) But we need help so please try. And I won't say anything about why you're really here

Eve leaves the office and finds Jeff and Sara heading in her direction. They walk to the main entrance.

Sara - Find anything?

Eve - No but Jake is going to try and dig a little deeper.

Sara - Wait, so there was nothing?

Eve - Jake seems to think Danielle was "scrubbed?"

Sara - (surprised) You can't scrub someone from the entire internet . . . Can you?

Jeff - She has friends in high places

Eve - We've never dealt with anything like this before.

Jeff - In the meantime we can go to Gabriel. He's the guy I've been getting the weapons from. Sara knows him too.

Sara - He has connections and information of a different kind.

Eve - You might want to invite Craig and Morgan along. Craig's getting jealous over all your newfound weaponry.

Before they leave Jake runs up to them with a file in his hand

Jake - Hey wait! (hands the file to Eve)

Eve - That was fast (looks at the file with Sara over her shoulder)

Sara - Where did you find this stuff? There's receipts and everything.

Jake - (looks knowingly to Eve) I just had to try and find something. Hope it helps

Eve - Thankyou.

Sara smiles, opens the door and puts on her sunglasses and walks out with Jeff and Eve in tow.

Pan back to Jake. His smile falters and he frowns as he walks back to his office. Danny is there waiting.

Jake - I don't understand. Why are you doing this?

Danny - They need a push in the right direction. My "friend" wants Eve to figure it all out. And when they do it be a devastating blow against the real criminals in this fight.

Jake - You didn't think to mention any of this to Sara. She's your friend.

Danny - If she's working with them I'm not going to tell her anything. And if you don't want your cover blown as FBI you won't tell her anything either.

Jake - (sighs) You're blackmailing me. If this ever gets out I'll never uncover the White Bulls and I could get fired for perverting the course of justice.

Danny - (nonchalant) The price you pay for deception and lies.

Danny leaves and Jake just sits there putting his head in his hands ashamed of what he's done

COMMERCIAL

Cut to outside a door called "Talismania."

Eve, Sara, Jeff, Craig and Morgan all walk up to the door.

Craig - Talismania? Are you serious?

Sara - I've known Gabriel for years. If anyone can help us, he can. (is about to knock when the door opens)

Gabriel - Ah, I've been expecting you. Jeff (shakes hands) How've you been. (looks behind Jeff to see Morgan) So this is the girlfriend (Jeff nods) How do you like the axes?

Morgan - Those are from here?

Gabriel - Twin axes, a gift to the Amazon Queen Varia of the One Tribe from a Norse lord in the last ten years of her reign. It was buried with her until unearthed and given as a gift to Eleanor of Aquitaine who had an interest in such things. It's been passed around after her death but I was able to acquire it. Jeff said it was the perfect gift for you.

Jeff - Yeah, I think I had to sell my soul to get them. (looks to Eve) Just kidding

Craig is looking around and is immediately drawn to a gloved mace.

Craig - Whoa!

Gabriel - Oh yeah. One of the sons of Attila wore it.

Craig - Nice!

Gabriel - Fifty grand

Craig - (backs away) Not so nice!

Eve - Fifty thousand! (to Jeff) How are you able to get any of this stuff?

Gabriel - (answers before Jeff does) Jeff and I have an arrangement. He gives me leads on acquiring new memorabilia and I give a significant discount on some interesting items!

Sara - Gabriel, about why we're here.

Gabriel - Yes, information on your mystery woman who may lead you to Danny.

Sara - If we can find Danielle, Eve has a feeling it will lead us to who she's working with and perhaps to Danny

Eve - In every instance where someone has run off there is a masked figure that has been involved. We need to find out who that is.

Craig - Eve, you mentioned you might know her. Could she be someone from your past?

Gabriel - Well, there's a archive that lists the history of the Messenger. I can take a look. Maybe find a list of old enemies.

Morgan - The Archives? You're not supposed to have access to those!

Gabriel - They're on the world wide net. Anyone has access to them. (clicks a few times on the mouse and scrolls down) Well where would you like to start? There's the Amazons

Morgan - Impossible. The Amazons and the Messenger have been reconciled since Ancient times

Gabriel - Some Scottish warrior named Tristan.

Eve - He's dead

Craig - And when has that ever stopped your enemies?

Jeff - The masked figure is a woman though

Sara - Do you know that for sure?

Gabriel - Could be Isolde?

Morgan - Who?

Eve - (uneasy) She was an Irish warrior princess, who was secret lovers with Tristan before I met him. When she found out I slept with him and then killed him to try to gain North Britannia as a Roman province she formed an army and exacted revenge on my regiment and me. We were badly beaten. (looks at Craig. Jeff and Morgan's confused faces) I never said I successfully captured the north of Britannia. I just tried and failed miserably. It couldn't be Isolde. She had her revenge.

Gabriel - You know, there are a lot of enemies to wade through here, from warlords to regular folk. You got around didn't you?

Eve - I'm not proud of it.

Gabriel smiles as he looks from Eve to Sara

Sara - Got something to say?

Gabriel - There are two warriors in this room that are connected to famous people throughout history. One renews the line, the other continues on with it. Both are destined to save the world by battling dark forces.

Eve looks at Gabriel strangely.

Gabriel - And now the both of you have come together (smiles) Its like the best crossover ever! It's destiny baby.

Sara - So what do you know about the Messenger?

Jeff - Sara, we're not here to investigate Eve

Eve - No, it's a fair question. I'd like to know myself.

Gabriel - I only know what's in the archives that "no one is supposed to have access to."

Morgan - All that information is supposed to be locked away in the archives of the Aquitaine Amazon order! How'd you get your hands on it?

Gabriel - (shrugs) Someone must have released the information

Morgan - But . . .Only the Amazon Queen has the authority to do such a thing. If she released information about Eve she could have released private information about Amazon Orders all over the world!

Sara - Could she be working with Danielle? You say Danielle fights like an Amazon.

Eve - Maybe . . . I don't know. I don't think so. I feel like I know this figure, I don't know the Queen of the Aquitaine Amazons. Does the archive mention any prophesies made . . . about me?

Gabriel - (looks at his computer) Yeah. In fact one that you made in the last days of your life. You saw a world where a Messenger's blood is spilt upon unholy ground and with that act Hell would be released.

Eve - (sighs) Great.

Gabriel - No pressure huh? I don't envy you. Hatred breeds more hatred. And the Messenger must break that cycle, that has always been their charge. Wearers of the Witchblade get to choose their revolution.

Sara - I didn't choose this.

Craig - This is fascinating but we're getting off topic. We should look at Danielle's file and try to find out where she could be. (looking through the file) She's bought equipment, chemicals, guns.

Morgan - (grabs a receipt from the file) Is this a grocery list? Geez, she's bought enough food to feed . . .an army

Sara - She must be keeping it all somewhere. What about the storage spaces?

Morgan - (grabs the file out of Craig's hands) She's been renting and moving around a lot. Her whereabouts are erratic, trying to be untraceable I guess. There are only two places that come up the most.

Craig - (looks at the list) I know these places. These areas have been hotbeds for evil activity for decades.

Gabriel - Can I see (Morgan hands the list to Gabriel who turns around and puts the locations in to the computer) There are legends that the first nations people buried evil forces in these place.

Eve - We should head there. I would think Danielle and who ever she's working with would want to use the evil energy.

Gabriel - Good luck. I'd help but my expertise ends here.

Eve - It's alright. Thanks for your help.

Gabriel - Anytime. Hey, if you ever want to sell that chakram I hear you've been sporting I can set you up with some nice swords.

Eve - I'll think about it. (turns to Jeff)Jeff call James. Head down with Craig and Morgan on the west side.

Sara - And you and I take the east

Eve - Right. Let's head out.

Fade to Eve and Sara on the Eastside heading towards one of the storage spaces. Eve slows down sensing the forces around her.

Eve - There are very old, very powerful forces here. They feed off the evil and it feeds into darker powers.

Sara - (looks at the Witchblade in bracelet form. It's glowing quite brightly) This thing is glowing like crazy. I think we need to be careful. . . . So, what can you tell me about Cathain. You knew her right. What was she like?

Eve - She was like you. She had this presence. I felt very small next to her.

Sara - Why were you enemies?

Eve - I betrayed her.

Sara - Look, what ever happened between you two in the past stays in the past. I don't hold any grudge against you. You shouldn't hold it against yourself either.

Eve - (stops short) What do you mean?

Sara - I saw your past. I know others haven't forgiven you for some of the things that you've done and you won't let it go either. You ever think that's what's keeping you from accessing the full extent of your powers?

Eve - I know it is.

Sara - (sighs) You carry a large burden, your own mistakes from your past, the destiny of your line, and the protection of the world from evil. You're going to have to drop one otherwise all will fall.

Eve sighs and looks to the ground. She looks up for a moment and then looks to the ground again, walking slowly and un-assumedly.

Sara - What are you doing?

Suddenly Eve grabs a man out from behind a building and slams him up against a wall.

Sara - Nottingham! I thought I felt the temperature drop about ten degrees.

Eve - You know this guy?

Sara - Trust me, I wish I didn't.

Eve - You've been following us for quite some time. Why?

Nottingham - Impressive. Sara never knows when I'm following her.

Eve - (deciding his harmless let's him go) You didn't answer my question

Nottingham - Two powerful women with two powerful destinies. Who wouldn't be intrigued? (takes Eve hand and strokes her palm slightly) You are aware of the prophesy, the power you hold. Your blood can release Hell. You've done it once before when your blood was spilt in Mephistopheles name.

Eve - I know. I was there (takes her hand away)

Nottingham - Then you are also aware that you could be the world's damnation.

Eve shifts uncomfortably under Nottingham's intense gaze and startling revelation.

Sara - This your way of picking up chicks Nottingham? It needs work.

Nottingham - Jealous Sara? You should be. Eve is a remarkable woman. You would be wise to kill her but it's not your hand that will bring about the prophecy.

Eve - What do you mean?

Nottingham - You and Sara are on the same side. Both of you fight for peace and justice. You are equal but you are not opposite.

Sara - (annoyed now) Okay that's enough. Don't encourage the guy.

Nottingham - Don't worry Sara. You are still my favorite.

Nottingham then bows his head and back away fading into the darkness. Eve looks to Sara confused

Eve - That was creepy

Sara - Yeah I know.

Fade to a little later. Sara and Eve come towards the storage space. They stand next to the main entrance. Sara pulls out her gun while Eve takes out her chakram. Sara looks to her confused.

Sara - Are you sure that will be enough?

Eve - (also unsheathes a sword) It helps.

Sara quirks an eyebrow but raises her wrist as the Witchblade morphs to a gloved gauntlet with a sword coming from it. She looks to Eve and gives a slight nod. Sara then jumps in front of the door and kicks it in.

Cut to inside the dark space. Sara enters first her gun raised and the Witchblade ready. The coast seems to be clear but she is still on guard. Eve looks in but she can't see anything. She throws the chakram into the darkness.

Sara - What are you doing?

Eve - Testing our boundaries.

Suddenly the chakram hits off a few things, sparking some torches and lighting them up. The chakram sails back to Eve and she catches it now that she can see. Sara is too busy looking at her surroundings to be impressed. She is shocked. Eve looks around not liking what she's seeing.

Pan around the space. It's a full out training centre complete with wrestling mats, training gyms and machine gun training. All the fixings of a high tech fully equipped army-training base.

Cut back to Eve and Sara who are shaking their heads knowing they need to get out. Suddenly they are jumped from behind and knocked out. Everything goes black.

COMMERCIAL

Cut to later. Eve opens her eyes. She brings her head up and lets out a groan realizing the pain she is in. She tries to move but cannot. Pan out as we see that both Eve and Sara are chained to their chairs. Eve looks around and sees Sara next to her and awake.

Eve - How long have we been like this?

Sara - I don't know I just woke up a few minuets ago.

Eve - (tries to get herself free but the chains don't budge) Can you get out of here?

Sara - Maybe but we won't be left alone for long and whoever knocked us out will probably bring back up. We won't be able to fight them alone. We need help.

Eve - (is thinking) Let me take care of that. You just worry about getting out of those chains.

The Witchblade morphs into a gauntlet on Sara's wrist and she begins to bang on the chains. Meanwhile Eve closes her eyes and concentrates.

Fade from Eve to James. We pan out to see him walking with Craig, Jeff and Morgan. They are walking down the streets of some more decrepit looking buildings and comes along a storage space. They see that the door is pad locked and Jeff grabs a crowbar to break it open.

Eve - (barely a whisper in the wind) James

James spins around and looks around him wildly. Morgan notices this.

Morgan - James? Is something wrong?

Eve - (again the same whisper) James

James - Eve? (looks to Morgan) Did you hear that?

Morgan looks at him like he is losing it. James is trying to concentrate as Jeff bangs against the padlock with the crowbar.

James - Stop for a second! Listen.

Eve - (voice) JAMES!

James whips around fast and we pan in close to his eye.

*flash*

Eve and Sara shake their heads knowing they need to get out. Suddenly they are jumped from behind and knocked out. Everything goes black

*end flash*

Pan out from James as he stumbles on the ground. Morgan runs over and helps him up

James - Eve and Sara. They're in trouble! They need our help.

Craig - But they're all the way over on the other side of town!

Morgan - Then we have to hurry

Morgan, James, Jeff and Craig run off.

Cut back to Eve who opens her eyes. Sara is still banging on the chains as Eve looks to her.

Eve - Help is on the way.

Sara - (struggling) Glad . . . you're . . .so . . .confident.

Sara stops suddenly when the entrance doors are burst open. Danielle walks in with several demons behind her.

Danielle - Well well well. What do we have here? It's Eve! And she brought a friend.

Eve - Why are you doing this? Is it because of Morgan?

Danielle - Because of her everything has been taken away from me! I'm going to make her pay! This is the means!

Carrie - (comes walking through the door) Hello Eve.

Eve - Carrie!

Carrie - Still think I'm worth helping now?

Danny walks in appearing to the left of Danielle. Sara looks at him surprised.

Sara - Danny?

Danny - (indifferent) Hello Sara

Sara- Where the hell have you been?

Danny - I've been setting things straight. I've begun to clean up the mess this city is in.

The Masked Figure walks in the door puts herself right in front of Eve.

Figure - Well well. The Messenger (looks to Sara) And the Blade wielder. (looks back to Eve) Isn't this just epic! How did you know we'd be here?

Eve - Wasn't hard. You left a lot hats lying on the ground.

Figure - I wouldn't have been doing my job if I hadn't left some clues to torture you with. Danielle had the right idea when she left that little note and the homemade bomb but she wasn't ready.

Eve - Giving Jake information to pass on was a nice touch.

Sara looks to Eve surprised. Even the masked figure looks taken aback

Figure - You're clever today. Any other questions you'd like to ask?

Eve - Why?

Figure - Because I want you to know exactly what you're up against. This has been planned for centuries. You'll never win.

Eve - I'm not here to fight you. This was about finding Danny and bringing him home safely.

Danny - I am home

Sara bangs at the chains one last time. She breaks free from her bonds and stands up, the Witchblade now morphs into full form. At this moment Eve jumps up still attached to the chair and breaks the legs of the chair a little to free her legs. She kicks the Figure in the stomach and pushes herself back away from the Figure who is clutching her stomach gasping for breath. The demons move forward and begin to attack.

Cut to Sara as she cartwheels over kicking one of the demons in the head. Upon landing she jumps up and does a roundhouse kick on another demon. She then sticks the sword of the Witchblade straight into another demon's chest. Impaled on the blade the demon begins screaming as it bursts into flames and is sucked back down into hell.

Cut to Danny and Carrie looking panicked. They run to attack Sara but the figure holds them back. The four just stand and watch Eve and Sara fight the demons.

Cut back to Eve who, still tied to the chair but able to stand get up and spins around knocking one of the demons down. She then traps another demon between the legs of the chair pushing back into the wall so hard she breaks the rest of the chair. Now free from the chair but the chains still ties to her wrists Eve begins swinging the chains around like whips. She bats the demons away and knocks them down with the force of the chains. Eve also uses the chains to wrap around their legs allowing her to throw them into a wall. She whips around and hits demons in the head so hard with the chains that they flip over on to their backs. Sara comes over just then and uses the Witchblade to cut off her chains.

Eve - What took you so long?

Sara - I was a little preoccupied.

Six demons walk over and corner Eve and Sara.

Sara - Six to two.

Just then Craig Morgan Jeff and James crash through the upper windows of the building and grab onto ropes hanging from the ceiling they swing down. Craig swings by Sara and kicks a demon in the chest. Jeff swings down by Sara and traps the demons head between his knees. Sara bends down to knock the feet out from under the same demon and the demon flips over on to its back. Sara uses the Witchblade and slices the head off the first demon jabs the second one in the side and swings around and stabs the third demon in the throat. The first one falls down dead while the third and second demons burns and sink back to Hell.

Cut to Morgan who swings down and lands on one demons shoulders. She flips back taking the demon with her flipping it backwards. James swings down and tackles the second demon down. Morgan tosses Eve a sword and she uses it to stab a demon in the chest before swinging around to slice off its head. Eve runs over to James who has kicks the demon off him. Eve swings the sword and slices off that demon's head as it is hurled off James toward her.

The third demon runs at Eve but before she can do anything the figure throws the chakram at the demon slicing off it's head. Eve bends backwards to dodge the chakram. It just misses her. As the chakram bounces off the back wall Eve gets upright again and catches the chakram.

Eve- Thanks. I dropped that.

In a spur of the moment decision Sara morphs the Witchblade back to a bracelet and tosses it to Eve. Eve catches and looks at Sara scared.

Sara - What are you waiting for? Put it on!

Eve - I can't!

Sara and Eve look into each other's eyes and experience the same memory

*Flashback*

Cathain is sleeping on her bed in her home, the Witchblade on her wrist. Livia silently enters the room and approaches Cathain. She looks down upon her with no emotion on her face. She spots the Witchblade and silently she slips the Witchblade off her wrist. Cathain wakes up as Livia does this and looks up surprised

Livia - Sweet dreams

Livia punches Cathain knocking her out!

Cut to a montage of Livia fighting the people of Eire with the Witchblade. Villagers scream. Villages burn. Livia with the Witchblade mercilessly kills and slaughters innocent people.

Livia - (covered in blood, marvels at the blood on the blade. She looks around at the people running in fear and panic) You Peasants! You Savages! Love me! Fear me! Worship me!!

Livia sticks the sword into a woman's stomach before swinging the Witchblade around. It comes into contact with Cathain but the sword does not strike her down. Instead the sword sinks back into the glove. Cathain stands there giving Livia a deadly glare. Livia on the other hand looks surprised.

Cathain - How dare you!! I spared your life and took you in and this is how you repay me!

Livia - Using and abusing. Just like you taught me!

Livia goes to punch Cathain with the Witch's Glove but Cathain puts up her hand and Livia's gloved hand freezes in mid air. Livia is shocked. Cathain makes a tightening motion with her hand. On Livia's wrist the Witchblade tightens. Livia is brought to her knees and grimaces in pain as it squeezes her hands tighter. Then with the flick of Cathain's wrist Livia is flipped over on to her back. The Witchblade morphs back into a bracelet. Cathain walks over and stands on Livia's arm and takes the Witchblade off her wrist. Cathain puts it back on her own wrist and it morphs back into a blade. Cathain points the blade at Livia's neck. She looks at Livia in disgust before raising the blade high. Cathain is about to bring her sword down upon Livia's head

Livia - ARCHERS!!

Several archers appear and begin shooting at Cathain, which she blocks effortlessly. However she is distracted giving time for Livia to kick her away. Livia swings her legs around propelling her self up and flips backwards until she jumps up and flips on to her horse. She horse raises itself on its hind legs and then gallops off with Livia on it into the distance. Cathain watches as Livia rides.

Cathain - We will meet again Livia, in this life or the next and when that time comes you will be judged. I will decide your fate.

*End Flashback*

Cut to Sara's eyes as she looks at Eve.

Sara - I know who you are. You are the Messenger and you fight for good. You want me to decide your fate. Well I have! Live! Wear the Witchblade.

Eve in a moment of trust puts on the Witchblade. The Witchblade morphs and Eve goes after the Masked Figure. Danny Carrie and Danielle all block Eve's way. She can't get passed them to go after the figure.

Sara - What are you waiting for?

Eve - I can't do it.

Figure - Eve wouldn't dare harm the soulful. That's the one rule she will never break.

At that moment Carrie and Danielle get down low and knock the feet out from under Eve making her go down in the splits. Both Carrie and Danielle hold on to the Masked Figures arms as they flip her back kicking Eve on the face making her flip completely over on to her stomach. Blood slightly trickles from her mouth. Eve gets up and scrambles back as Sara runs over. Eve tosses the bracelet to Sara and she puts it on. It morphs into the blade.

Sara - You may not be able to but I can.

The Masked Figure stands unmoved and not at all scared as Sara approaches ready to strike her down. At that moment Danny comes to stand in front of the figure. Sara stays her hand

Sara - Get out of the way Danny

Danny - I can't do that Sara

Sara - Why are you doing this? Why are you following her? Danny you got a wife, kids!

Danny - That's why I am doing this Sara. It's time to bring the law back to the people.

Sara - Danny, if you can't see that this masked woman is the evil one then you need your head examined

Danny - Eve is perpetuating the problem Pez and so are you.

Sara - Danny?!

The Masked Figure and Danny step back. Carrie and Danielle join them as they all stand in a line.

Morgan - (not surprised) Danielle

James - (devastated) Carrie! Why?

Carrie - We all have our reasons James.

Figure - We don't want to fight you. Not yet. The time will come when you will meet your end. But it's not today.

Carrie Danielle Danny and the Masked Figure all retreat into the darkness. Sara runs in after them but there is no sign. They have disappeared. She turns back to Eve and the others.

Fade from the warehouse to Eve and Sara in Eve's apartment as the sun rises.

Eve - (voice over commentary) I'm bound to the consequences of my actions of the past. Its forced me to confront it, own it and atone. Maybe one day I can forgive myself, if I can balance the scales. But I don't think that day will ever come. Not when not when the actions of the present could damn the world.

Eve - I'm sorry. I . . . I should have figured it out sooner. I should have known.

Sara - How could you have known?

Eve - I figured some things out but I couldn't figure out why. I hoped . . .. I hoped Danny had just been kidnapped, that she was using him and Carrie and Danielle as pawns . . . if they were just a pawn in a trap we could have gotten out of there safely.

Sara - They are pawns. Danny didn't choose this on his own. She manipulated him. She is using the people we care about against us.

Eve- My equal. My opposite. It is her.

Sara - Eve . . . I know you want to remain . . . pure but doing something bad doesn't always mean you are bad. It doesn't mean you're a hypocrite or evil either. Sometimes it just is what it is, doing a little evil to achieve a greater good.

Eve - Are you saying I should fight fire with fire.

Sara - I'm saying you've got to let go of your guilt. It's keeping you from actually fighting evil because you're afraid of becoming evil. Your powers are obviously strong but you said yourself, your issues are keeping you from using them at full strength. The next time you hesitate like you did today, you could die! You got to toughen up Eve, become a little hard or . . .

Eve - No. I can't . . . I can't go back to that . . . to Livia. You know what she was like

Sara - She had the right idea

Eve - (shakes her head) You don't know what you're saying

Sara - She got in there. She got her hands dirty. She nearly won. I'm not saying become her but you need to take a page out of her book. You need to utilize every asset you've got. And if you're up against the devil, you're going to need it.

Eve - What if I go too far?

Sara - You can't beat this evil if you keep focusing on what ifs. You either want it or you don't.

Eve - I want peace

Sara - Then stop being squeamish and fight for it!

Eve says nothing but just stares at the ground. Sara sighs. She gets up and heads to the door. She stops and looks back to Eve.

Sara - The life of a savior can often be a lonely one. That I understand. So if you ever need someone, call. I'll be there.

Eve looks up and nods offers a small smile but still says nothing

Sara - I'm not your enemy Eve. It seems to me you're your own worst enemy.

Eve looks up startled at this.
