Last time on EVE: The Virtual Series

Eve - Why did Alex send you to us? What were you told to do?

Adam - The One Who Is Many asked me to distract you from interfering in the alignment. If I were to fail I was ordered to kill you.

Eve - When is the alignment?

Adam - Tomorrow night

Morgan - That's not enough time to plan a counter attack

Adam - (beginning laughing) Then I have succeeded

Suddenly Adam pushes James and Jeff back and they both slam into the wall. Adam pushes Craig out the way and then pushes Eve into Morgan knocking them down. Adam then makes a bolt for the entrance. Just then an arm lashes out and punches Adam in the face knocking him out. Eve, Morgan, Craig, James and Jeff look down at an unconscious Adam and then look up at the man that stopped him from escaping.

Man - Yeah he's going to be out for a while.

Eve - Who are you?

Man - I'm here to help. My name is Hercules

Eve - Hercules?

Morgan - That's impossible! You'd have to be like a billion years old

Craig - You're an impostor. Hercules was half God, he should be long dead

Hercules - You forget who my family is. I've eaten ambrosia. I've become a full god so I could keep on doing what I do best. Helping people.

Craig - We know who your family is. That's the reason why we don't trust you.

Eve - Craig . . .

Craig - NO! We were just duped by that sweet talking punk and now because he failed the Gods are sending someone else to distract us.

Eve - I don't think . . .

Craig - If you are Hercules . . .

Hercules picks up a crow bar and bends it effortlessly in half

Craig - Okay. . . . You may be Hercules but you're one of them.

Jeff - If he has an in with the Gods we may have a way of getting to Alex. Isn't this what you wanted?

Craig - For all we know Alex arranged this . . she arranged this Adam guy. She's on their side now.

Hercules - They don't know I'm here.

Craig - That doesn't mean anything

Hercules - I've been trying to warn all of you about Adonis for the past few days. He's one of Aphrodite's creations. He's very . . . persuasive

Eve - (looks to Hercules) Warn us?

Hercules - It was him who sent those Harpies after you. I was trying to catch him off guard to expose him. It was me who hit him that night when he had the knife. I was the one who threw the rock with the note through your window. That was me with the mask trying to expose him taking your photos . . .

James - Why didn't you just warn us directly or try and stop him face to face?

Hercules - And if he got away, I risk exposing myself and then the Gods would be after me. I would have been no help to you by then.

Craig - Why would you want to help us? You stand as much to gain from your family coming back as much as the rest of them.

Hercules - You don't know your history very well do you? I've defied my family for years. I've fought against Hera, I've battled against Apollo, Ares, Demos, Discord and Strife. I killed my father so Eve could be born.

Eve gasps as she remembers the story of her birth. Memories of the past come flooding back to her in a flurry of visions.

*Flashback*

From "God Fearing Child"

Zeus: "So-- it's come to this."

Hercules: "This isn't gonna end well for either of us-- but I'm ready to live with what I have to do."

Zeus: This is not about you and me. It's about survival. The child must die!

Hercules: "No-o-o-o-o-o!"

Hercules and Zeus fight, with Xena screaming in the background. She clings to Gabrielle. The baby is being born. Zeus sees the child's head, and goes to throw a lightning bolt at it, and Hercules grabs the rib and stabs Zeus.

Clouds rolls. The earth moves. The winds pause.

It's a girl.

Zeus [Gasps]: You have sworn never to call me `Father' again--but you will always be my son."

Hercules: "This didn't have to happen!"

Zeus: "Every son-- must eventually take his father's place-- like I did mine. Hercules-- you've never disappointed me-- especially today." [Exhales]

Hercules: "Father. Father!"

Zeus dies in Hercules arms and fades as to nothing but whisps of smoke. The earth moves as a storm threatens to unleash chaos then all is still. The clouds clear the sky and the sun shines as Xena holds her new baby in her arms. She looks to Hercules who looks to the ground at where his father once laid.

Xena: I'm so sorry, Hercules.

Hercules: All my life-- I've told people that they can live without the gods. Now, I guess we'll find out. (looks to Xena's baby) She's beautiful."

*End Flashback*

Hercules - All my life I've seen the gods use people, exact vengeance upon them, make them suffer for petty and selfish reasons. Nothing good can come from them being reborn.

Craig - (looks to Eve) . . . Eve, what do you think?

Eve - (softly) He killed his own father to protect my mother so I could be born . . .

Craig - It's your call then.

Eve - None of it matters anymore

Eve walks out.

Cut to Eve in her apartment. She is sitting in front of her shrine. She is not praying she is just sitting there thinking. We pan around her and see Hercules leaning against the doorframe watching her.

Hercules - Praying?

Eve is startled out of her thoughts and looks towards Hercules

Eve - Thinking

Hercules - I wouldn't feel too guilty about falling for Adonis's charm. He's made to distract people.

Eve - I wasn't thinking about him

Hercules - Ah! (walks in further) Then you were thinking about your friend, Alex.

Eve - How did you know about her, about Adonis, about any of us?

Hercules - Like the other gods of Mount Olympus, I've known about the vessel for quite sometime. When I found out it was Ares granddaughter and, more importantly, that she was connected to you, I tried everything in my power to stop it. But as you might have guessed I have little sway among the Gods. I've always been considered an outcast for my views. Believe me I tried to get them to just leave the issue alone. But Apollo's boys contacted Alex and events were set in motion.

Eve - (stands up and looks out her window) I'm the one who failed and the world may now pay the price.

Hercules - Alex made her choice.

Eve - (angry) This is about my friend, someone who needed my help, and I couldn't even tell! And now I'm going to have to let her die or possibly be the one to kill her and I don't even know if the gods mean any threat to this world! How am I supposed to be some sort of savior if I have no idea what I'm supposed to do?!

Hercules - Because you already know what to do. You're just afraid.

Eve - (sighs)Ever since my destiny was revealed I've been more confused than ever.

Hercules - Helping people is not about being a savior. Its about making a difference in someone's life. Anyone can make a difference if they care enough to try. And you do. That is your destiny (puts his hands on her shoulders and turns her around to face him) I knew you would make a difference the moment I saw your mother hold you in her arms.

Eve smiles a little

Hercules - I know you're confused but trust me about the gods. I know them better than anyone.

Eve - Sometimes I just want to give up. That must be why I let Adonis distract me so easily.

Hercules - Even gods deal with the flaws of their own existence. I was driven mad. I killed my family, my wife. There was nothing I could do as I watched my mother die or while my best friend's soul was taken by an evil demon. I lost all faith. I wanted to die.

Eve - What stopped you?

Hercules - That is a long story but I've learned that someone who is good, who can do good, face the harder battles against their own demons because they're the ones who can change the world. But we can overcome them. That's why we were chosen. You were chosen.

Eve - What makes me so special?

Hercules - (exasperated) What do you want, a list?

Eve - I'm not fishing. I'm serious. Why me? Why not you?

Hercules - It's not you that's special. It's the friendship that you share. Your love for each other brings out the best in each of you. With that kind of love you can change the world.

Eve - (smiles) They are pretty special. Even Alex. I don't want to let her go.

Hercules - Then we work on a way to save her but there is one more thing we have to deal with.

Cut to downstairs. Morgan, Jeff, James, Craig, Eve and Hercules are all looking down at an unconscious Adonis.

Morgan - What do we do with him?

Eve - I don't want to kill him

Jeff - And if we let him go he'll go running to Olympus

James - We could put him in a mental institution.

Hercules - If he doesn't return with a report to the gods, they'll come looking for him

Craig - So what do we do with him?

Hercules - Craig, are you any good with memory charms?

Craig - I'm pretty fair at them, why?

Hercules - We are going to send him back to the Gods, but with only a selective memory, preferably without me. I can move freely about Olympus without suspicion and gather intel.

Eve - Can you do it, Craig?

Craig - I can try

Eve - Then do it.

Craig - Good to have you back on board. I'll get right on it

Craig goes over to his backpack and gets out his book and walks back over to Adonis. Pan over to Morgan, Jeff and James looking up at Hercules. He looks at them

Hercules - Yes?

Morgan - I always thought you'd be, you know, bigger

Hercules - I get that a lot

Jeff - How did you know about this whole Adam thing anyway?

Hercules - Cupid let me know. They are a few on our side, but if the others were to ever find out . . . it could be bad, for all of us

James - That's not exactly encouraging

Hercules - (with a little bit of sarcasm) That's why we have to go about this real quiet like.

James - (to Jeff and Morgan) I wonder if Alex gets her sarcasm from him.

Pan back over to an unconscious Adonis. Fade from that image to an awake Adonis in the marble hall of Olympus. He is giving a report to all the Gods.

Adonis - I was able to distract them but someone caught on and exposed me. I don't know who though. They were warned and they were able to capture me. They neutralized my abilities while injecting me with a truth serum. (looks ashamed) I divulged all information. (on his knees) I have betrayed you my most honourable Gods. I am at your mercy do with me what you will.

Apollo - (forms a fire ball in his hand) There will be no mercy here.

Voice - HOLD!!!

Apollo's fireball disappears and everyone looks to a figure in the shadows. Alex emerges. Her head is held high. She is wearing a silver three quarter length shirt and gold pants. Although she appears strong, the dark circles under her eyes betray. She seems to be having a bit of an identity crisis. She walks over to Adonis.

Alex - There is no reason to kill him. He did his task. The alignment is close now and there is nothing Eve can do to stop our re birth. However, I sense that the spell that was put on Adonis is wearing off. He is a threat to our senses. Put him in the box, place him in the underworld in Persephone's care. (looks to Persephone) I trust you won't open it.

Persephone - (confused by Alex's behavior) No, he is safe in my care.

Alex nods and several guards drag Adonis away kicking and screaming.

Adonis (screams fade off) NO! NO! NO! NOT THE BOX! PLEASE GODDESS, PLEASE, NOT THE BOX!!!!

Alex smiles softly and turns to Aphrodite who is unnerved

Alex - Quite the impressive invention. He did his job well.

Aphrodite - Alex?

Alex - She's resting. Trying to maintain control of this body with the rest of us growing stronger is . . . tiring

Alex turns toward the throne and walks forward. Apollo stands up

Apollo - Who are you then?

Alex - Why brother, you mean you really don't know?

Apollo - Athena?

Alex - (smiles) For now

Apollo moves aside unnerved by this transformation. Alex sits down in the thrown comfortably. Demeter and Hestia on either side of Alex look at her questionably.

Alex(as Athena) - Make the arrangements!! It's time to prepare for the alignment, our rebirth and the glorious restoration of our kingdom!

COMMERCIAL

Open with a pan around a marble room decorated with various objects. There are symbols of death, fear and discord about the walls, there are animal skins decorating the floor and various weapons and scrolls lying about. We pan around and see Alex in a black cloak looking out her window. Hercules comes into view

Hercules - So we finally meet

Alex - And where have you been that it took us so long to "meet"?

Hercules - Out

Alex - Don't play dumb with me Hercules, you forget you are talking to people who know you

Hercules - People?

Alex - I know you've been out protecting and helping those mortals you care so much about

Hercules - Strange talk coming from someone who is part mortal.

Alex begins laughing almost evil as she turns around to face Hercules, dark shadows under her eyes. Another god has taken her place.

Hercules - (sighs) I'm not talking to Alex am I? Who am I addressing?

Alex - Chiron says you still owe him. I'll bet the beast still keeps all his money in his shoe.

Hercules - (rolls his eyes) Uncle Hades. How've you been?

Alex (as Hades)- Trapped you fool! Trapped for over two thousand years. The alignment can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned. I can't wait until I can be released from this mortal confinement

Hercules - Do you dislike the body because she's female, because she's part mortal or because she's your wife's illegitimate child?

Alex (as Hades) - WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?!!!

Hercules - (unfazed) Can I talk to Alex?

Alex (as Hades) - She's resting, but Athena would like to know where you've been. She not as trusting as me. We all know of your fondness for the mortals. When the alignment comes you can't get in our way

Hercules - Is there something that I need to be worried about that I would feel I would need to get in the way?

There is a strained moment of silence as Hercules and Hades stare each other down. Suddenly Alex teeters and sways and her eyes flutter closed and she is about to faint. Hercules runs up and catches her and carries her over to the bed and sits her down. Alex lifts her head, the dark shadows gone. She looks up to Hercules confused

Alex - Who are you?

Hercules - I'm Hercules

Alex - Oh . . . I thought you'd be bigger

Hercules - Are you okay?

Alex - Yeah . . . I'm just tired. I'm always tired these days. The gods are getting stronger. I'll be glad to have my own body back after this is over.

Hercules - Is that possible?

Alex - Yeah, when the alignment happens.

Hercules - No one has explained to me what will happen during the alignment.

Alex - I've be given the drill. It all sounds pretty complicated. It has something to do with the cosmic energy that's created during the alignment. It will provide enough power that the gods will be able to extract themselves from me and give themselves form. They'll be mortal so they will need to drain me of my godhood to regain their full power and immortality.

Hercules - That will kill you!

Alex - Everyone has assured me that I will be fed ambrosia upon the Gods full regeneration. It will bring me back to life. If I wish to be God, I can eat more.

Hercules - Is that what you want? To become a God? To stay here with us?

Alex - (shrugs) I don't really have anywhere else to go.

Hercules - (silent for a moment as he thinks upon that statement) So . . .why don't you just eat the ambrosia before hand. Become a full god now.

Alex - I need to die to make sure the gods are no longer tethered to me. The more power I have, the more control I have over my own lifeforce.

Hercules - What would happen to the Gods if you were to wake up, or worse, die before they were at full power?

Alex - There's no way to know. The Gods would be cut off from the power and become mortal. Their life could be forever tied to mine. They could be trapped forever within me. Why are you asking all these questions? Are you thinking of stopping this?

Hercules - There is no way to stop this once it's begun, or so I'm told. . . Part of me wishes my father could come back. I'd tell him I'm sorry.

Alex - Why'd you kill him if you regret it so?

Hercules - Because it didn't have to be that way. Life is important whether it is one life or one thousand lives.

Alex - Sometimes the needs of the one has to be sacrificed for the needs of many.

Hercules - Well put

Hercules stands up and sees the picture face down on the bedside table. He picks it up, seeing Alex and her friends

Hercules - This your family?

Alex - Sort of

Hercules - Friends?

Alex - I don't know

Hercules - Do they know you're here?

Alex - I don't know

Hercules - Do you wonder if they're thinking about you?

Alex - (exasperated) I don't know that either

Hercules - That's a lot of "I don't know"

Alex - (stands up angry)And that's a lot of questions! What do you want me to say?

Hercules - I have a suspicion that your friends care about you, no matter who or what you are.

Alex- How would you know?

Hercules - Because I had friends, much like yours. No matter what I did they were always had my back. Whether it was to help me clean up my mess, stand behind me when things went wrong, or even bring me back from the dark side. They cared because that's what friends do.

Hercules looks to Alex and gives her a small smile.

Hercules - You should rest. Sweet dreams

Hercules walks out of her room while Alex lays back on the bed.

Alex - Not likely

Cut to a pan over New York city over Cental park.

Fade into the park by the fountain where Eve is fighting a demon. The demon runs toward her and moves to punch her. Eve blocks both punches and quickly punches the demon in the gut pushing it back. Eve moves toward punching the demon again but it kicks her in the gut then hits her in the chest sending Eve flying back into a nearby tree.

The demon runs at her to attack but Eve quickly stands up on one hand and hits the demons in the chest with her feet knocking the demon back against the fountain wall. Eve stands right side up. The demon runs at Eve and moves to punch her. Eve dodges both punches, Ducking far to the side her the third punch Eve kicks the demon in the stomach, the then kicks the demon in chest. Eve then spins around and roundhouse kicks the demon in the head sending him once more against the fountain.

At that moment Hercules appears and takes the demon by the head and throws him in the fountain. The demon splashes violently around in the fountain before dissolving into smoke.

Hercules - That particular demon has to be killed in water.

Eve - I know, that's why I lead it here

Hercules - I see you got your focus back.

Eve - Thanks to you.

Hercules - We all need a little encouragement from time to time. But I'm here to let you know that I might have a way to get Alex back but timing is crucial. When the alignment happens the gods will go to Ares fallen temple, where the orb was re discovered.

Eve - But that's in Greece!

Hercules - Don't worry about that. I can take you there. I've learned that when the alignment happens the Gods will be able to separate themselves from Alex. At this exact moment you must talk to her.

Eve - What will I say?

Hercules - How much you care, how much you love her, how much you want her back. She needs a reason to come back to keep her own life force so the gods can't feed off her. The Gods will become mortal. They'll be reborn but they won't have their power. Its a win-win as far as I'm concerned.

Eve - (nods) I can deal with that but what makes you so sure Alex will want to come back?

Hercules - She's scared Eve. She thinks you'll sacrifice her to save the world. I know that you don't want to do that because you love her. She knows this but you have make her remember that.

Eve - Whatever it takes.

Hercules - One more thing. It has to be you alone

Eve - Why?

Hercules - The Gods are powerful and intuitive. They'll be able to detect a large force coming. But with all the extra activity one more heart beat won't be detected.

Eve - (nods) Alright.

Hercules - Go home Eve, get some rest, you're going to need it.

Eve - What about the demons?

Hercules - I'll take care of it tonight. You just worry about taking care of Alex.

COMMERCIAL

Cut to the centre the next morning. Eve straps a couple of daggers to her legs, a gauntlet with arrows to her arm and attaches the chakram to her side. Pan over to where Craig, Morgan, Jeff and James are looking at her.

Morgan - That's not going to stop them!

Eve - No, but it will slow them down a bit, long enough for me to talk to Alex

Craig - I still don't understand why I can't come along.

Eve - It's safer this way. The gods will be less likely to detect one mortal rather than two.

Craig - I suppose "Herc" told you this. I can't believe you're trusting him. This could be a trap

Eve - Or it could be our only way to get Alex back.

Craig - And if there isn't? What then?

Eve - We'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

Craig - I'll do what I have to for the greater good.

Hercules - (voice) That's exactly what Alex is afraid of

Everyone turns to see Hercules

Hercules - Alex is scared that you will kill her. She knows that you know the means by which to do so.

Craig - Do you know if the Gods mean to do humanity harm?

Hercules - If this plan works we don't have to find out. Eve, you've got to show her that no matter what, she's not alone. Are you ready?

Eve - Yes.

Hercules opens up him arm and Eve walks up to stand beside him

James - Good luck Eve

Eve nods as her and Hercules de materialize away.

Fade out from the centre and into space. The planets are almost aligned. Fade in to ruins from a temple, Ares temple. All the gods are there including Alex who is changing from persona to persona ordering all the servants around.

Alex (as Discord) - I want lots of beautiful, strong men. They don't have to be smart just make sure the faces are nice!!

Alex (as Artemis) - Apollo as soon as I get my body back I'm going on a long hunt.

Alex (as Hades) - Persephone I hope my throne is as I left it and don't worry I won't leave again.

Alex (as Poseidon) - My sirens make sure a decent pool of water is available for be to re emerge in

Alex (as Athena) - Hurry!! The alignment is almost upon us, our re birth is about to begin, make sure all the planetary crystals are in position!

Pan over to Cupid and Apollo

Cupid - Is anyone else weirded out by this?

Cut to a fair distance away from the temple. Eve and Hercules materialize in. Eve sways a little

Eve - Whoa!

Hercules - I know, it takes getting used to. I'll make my way up to the temple. They're expecting me. Keep a fair distance when following me and make sure you keep out of sight until I call for you.

Eve - (catches his arm before he turns away) You didn't have to do any of this, you didn't have to help. I didn't understand at first but I remember what my mother used to say about you. I just want you to know how grateful I am for all of this. Thank you

Hercules - (smiles and pats Eve's arm) I was very fond of your mother. You are a credit to her and a worthy successor (motions toward the chakram) to her legacy.

Hercules smiles and heads toward the temple ruins.

Cut to the temple ruins. Hercules makes his way in toward the circle of Gods.

Alex (as Athena) - We've missed your company brother. Where have you been?

Hercules - You know, I remember a time when I didn't have to explain my whereabouts to anyone.

Alex as Athena smirks. The sky at that moment becomes a little darker. They all look up and see the sun becoming eclipsed.

Cut to space . We pan from Pluto past Jupiter to the sun. All the planets are aligned. We catch a glimpse of the brightness of the sun. The gleam flashes to the temple ruins. A blue mist rises up around Alex and the wind begins to blow.

Alex (as Athena) IT'S BEGINNING!!! Apollo, when Alex loses consciousness place her under heavy guard and protection. In a few days, once her life force is fully drained, she will be honored in the pantheon with a proper burial.

Apollo - Burial?!

Hercules - I thought you were going to being her back with ambrosia

Alex - (as Athena) We will have to drain her fully to become whole again. That means everything. Mind, body, essence and soul! There will be nothing left to bring back. We have to take it all to be re instated into full godhood.

Cut to behind a huge bolder where Eve lets out a small gasp. She covers her mouth and fights the urge to move

Cut back to the Gods

Persephone - You can't do this!! This wasn't the way it's supposed to be!!!

Alex (as Athena) It is what it is and there is no stopping it now!!

Alex lifts her head up as a high wind and glow comes up around her. The planetary gems start glowing and start shooting coloured beams up to the sky!! Alex begins screaming as the gods' spirits look like they are being torn from her face. We begin to see the faces of the Gods killed during the twilight. Their bodies begin to form in the mist, glow and beams. Alex stands in the midst of all of them and looks very weak but still conscious

Hercules - EVE NOW!!!!

Eve jumps out from behind the boulder and begins running toward Alex and the Gods.

Apollo - (shocked by Eve's sudden appearance) STOP HER!!

Cupid spreads his wings suddenly knocking Apollo down

Cupid - (faking surprise) Ooops!

All the servants run toward Eve trying to prevent her from reaching Alex.

One man reaches Eve first and sticks out his hand to grab her. Eve spins around grabbing his arm and coming down on it with a swift chop breaking his arm. She then hits him with the flat of her palm in his chest knocking him down. A second servant attacks with a punch that Eve ducks. Eve then chops him in the throat. She jumps up high and sends a bold front kicks to his chest knocking him into another servant sending them flying crashing through an old temple wall. Several servants run to attack Eve all at once. She kicks a boulder at one knocking them back then uses the boulder to propel herself up and kick all the servants down like she was running along a wall. Some one jumps Eve from behind but she breaks their grip and lifts her leg high past her head kicking them in the face.

Cut to Hercules as he grabs a servant by the collar and lifts him high over his head. He then uses the servant as a type of shield knocking other servants out of the way. He then runs toward the mass of servants running towards Eve and knocks them all down.

Hercules - GET TO ALEX! I'LL HOLD THEM OFF!

Hercules uses the human shield and continues to knock servants out of Eve's way. As Eve runs the sirens move to block her way. They open their mouth but Eve shoot two arrows into their throats cutting them off and knocking them down. Eve throws a knife at the third siren not killing her but only knocking her down. Eve tucks in and summer salts over to Alex and the gods who are now only inches away from her. Eve can't get to close to Alex because there seems to be a blue force field surrounding them.

The Gods are getting stronger because their bodies are appearing more solid. Alex, although still solid, is looking weaker. She seems to be sagging at the knees.

Eve - ALEX!!

Alex looks up at that moment she looks little stronger

Alex - Eve?

Eve - (holds out her hand) I've come for you Alex!! I've come to take you home

Alex - What?

Eve - It's okay Alex. You don't have to be afraid!! You're my friend and we've been through so much and we've always made it through. I need you now so we can make it through this

Alex - You're not mad at me?

Eve - No. I'm so sorry I made you think that. I care about you Alex, more than anything and I've come to take you home where you are loved and cared for. Just take my hand!!

Alex smiles a little bit and reaches out slowly her hand just barely penetrating through the shield to Eve's out stretched hand on the other side. Just then Athena's eyes snap open and an angry look crosses her face. She grabs hold of Alex and slams her back then throws a burst of energy though the force field. Eve is hit right in the chest. Eve is knocked far back and into Hercules. They both fall down.

They look to the gods. Alex is lying on the ground unconscious. Now Demos, Discord, Artemis, Athena, Hades, Hephaestus, Poseidon rising from the pool of water and the furies flying around them in a cloud of red smoke. Eve and Hercules look on in fear and astonishment.

Athena - You made a big mistake Hercules!! You showed where your loyalties lie and for it you will suffer the same fate as the mortals. When we make this world anew you will perish along with the rest of them.

Apollo - WHAT!!

Athena - In seven days the universe will be unmade. In seven days we will start again and make the universe in our image and we will once again reign supreme!!!

The wind rises and lighting strikes as the sun becomes un eclipsed and all the gods de materialize away leaving Eve and Hercules on the ground in the midst of the ruins and smoke.

Eve - NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Fade from Eve to the centre. Eve and Hercules materialize in. Eve is disheveled and full of bruises and cuts. Hercules does not look as bad but is equally dejected. Morgan, Jeff and James run over and bring Eve to where she can sit down. Jeff brings out the first aid kit and tends to Eve wounds. She's too upset to speak.

Craig - Where's Alex?

No one speaks.

Craig - You failed

Hercules - (sadly) Yes we failed.

Craig - So Alex is . . ?

Hercules - Unconscious and soon to be dead. They lied to everyone even the remaining gods. The gods will fully drain Alex of her life force and soul. She will die.

Eve bursts out in tears

Hercules - And that's not even the worst of it. The Gods plan to destroy the universe. They will literally unmake existence and start again.

Craig - So I was right. Now the universe is going to be swept into oblivion and we've got nothing to show for it. Not even Alex.

Morgan - So what are we going to do? I don't want to sit around and wait to die!!

Craig - (grabs out his book) Well, maybe if we had that attitude before it wouldn't have come to this! I don't want to say I told you so but I told you so!!

Jeff - All right we get it! You were right and we are wrong!

Craig - Yeah! But lucky for you my pessimism forced me to dig a little and come up with a back up plan!

Jeff - So you got some sort of plan now?

Craig - The gods won't be whole and of full power until they've drained Alex completely right? Well, what if their source was suddenly cut off in the midst of their regeneration.

Hercules - Any number of things could happen but the Gods would be powerless to unmake the universe.

Craig - Then to stop the gods and the end of the world, we have to kill Alex.

Eve - This is Alex, our friend!

Craig - She's as good as dead anyway. At least this way we can save the world

James - We can't!! . . . Even if you are cold enough to kill your best friend, she's part god. She can't die!

Hercules - Until she is completely drained that is.

Craig - We need to kill her before then. (turns the book around and shows them a picture) By way of the Helios Dagger and Hercules is going to get it for us.
