Pan across the streets of Manhattan. The activity on the streets seemed to be going at fast-forward as Madonna's "Ray of Light" plays in the background. We pan along the Skyline of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and fade to the sun rising to noon and then to evening. Fade from this scene to inside the centre where the last few people are leaving for the day and James closes the door behind them. He walks over to sit by Craig and Morgan.

James - Thanks for coming in tonight before we go out to patrol. (sighs)I'm worried about Eve.

Craig - She wants to fight back. She's sick of losing. I know I am.

James - I've lost too Craig (looks to Morgan) We all have.

Morgan - (sighs thinking about her family) Maybe we have to get a little bad if we want to beat it. You know, fight on their level.

Craig - (shakes his head)No, James is right. We can't be like that. Eve knows that we need to find a way beyond violence. She was brought here to help people

Morgan - Yeah but in this case helping people means stopping those who are out to hurt them. (quietly) Out to hurt us.

James - I know she wants to stop people from getting hurt. The problem is she thinks she needs to take it on all on her own (sighs) Or maybe she thinks we can't help.

Natalie suddenly bursts in the centre. She is waving her hands about excitedly. Jeff walks in behind her

Natalie - I got it! I got it and it's perfect!

Morgan James and Craig all look to Jeff to decipher

Jeff - Don't look at me I'm not the psychic

James - What's perfect?

Natalie - The Prophet Effect!

Craig - Isn't that the dangerous plan we weren't going to try?

Natalie - But now we know what we're doing. If you can draw on the spiritual and psychic energy from your ancestors you call upon the Seers and Prophets of the past. You can call on them to restore your power. And if you request it, they may even boost your power.

Craig - What is the "Prophet Effect" exactly?.

Natalie - The prophet effect is the psychic energy of all the prophets across time combined. James has the power of visions in his DNA and in his reincarnated soul. If the prophets of the past agree they will link all of the past visionaries psychic energy together. It will be a super blast of psychic energy. BAM. SUPER PSYCHIC JAMES!

James - (shakes his head) What!?

Natalie - Okay forget the mumbo jumbo and think of the benefits!

James - (nods) I could see Lucifer's plan, where the figure is going to strike next. I could see a demon attack before it happens.

Natalie- Exactly!

James - (frowns) What's the catch?

Natalie - You'll have to take a few tests to see if you're worthy.

James- What kind of tests?

Natalie - Well they're not going to be multiple choice but with the Messenger of Eli as your advocate you can affirm that your powers will be used for the mission. At the very least they can decide in favor of your powers being restored to full power.

James - I've been off since that phoney muse, even before when Apollo took away my powers. It'd be nice to be finely tuned for once

Natalie - It's a plan anyway.

Craig - Did we agree it was a good plan?

Natalie - (ignores Craig) All you need is Eve

James - Eve . . .

Cut to upstairs in Eve and James apartment.

Eve - No.

James - Eve, I'm doing this for you! For our mission! This could help us stop Lucifer

Eve - At what price? You? You could fail and I won't risk losing you! No more, no more loss can be suffered! You won't do this!

James - We are a team, remember! You're not alone in this so stop being such a martyr. This is my fight too. I'm doing this! With or without you!

Open with James and Eve at a standoff in their apartment.

Eve - (gently) James I don't want you to do this because I don't want you getting hurt and that's a real possibility with something this dangerous. We'll have to find out what Lucifer is doing another way.

James - Eve, I made a stupid selfish mistake when I went to the muse. I have a chance to make it right and really be a part of this team, the way I was always meant to

Eve - Is that what this is about? You feel left out, like you're not apart of this because you don't have something special to offer?

James - (sighs) This is my fight too, more so since Carrie. I have to help her find a way back.

Eve - I'm trying James . . .

James - I know but Carrie is not your responsibility. She's mine. I want to help the best way I know how and that's having visions and the only way to get that back is to go through with the Prophet Effect. . . .

Eve sighs and closes her eyes as she looks away from James, she opens her eyes and looks back and answers reluctantly

Eve - What do we have to do?

Fade to a cemetery the next day. We pan along the tombstones until we see the Evans Family Tomb. We fade to inside the tomb. Natalie is setting up a circle filled with candles and concentration crystals. From a birds eye view, it looks like a star inside a circle. Morgan and Jeff are sitting on this large slab of flat rock while Craig walks in the entrance looking really put out.

Craig - Why are we using my family's burial tomb?

Natalie - This place is filled with mystic and spiritual energy. James can tap into that allowing him to make a connection to his family's energy giving him the power to cross the expanse and allow him to call on prophets from the past. Did you perform the protection rituals around the tomb?

Craig - It's all done. (looks over to Jeff and Morgan) Get off of there! My great great grandfather's in there!

Morgan and Jeff quickly get as if they had been burned. Just then Eve and James walk in the tomb. Both have white linen wrapped around them like togas. While Eve walks around as normal, James is little self-conscious. Eve walks over to Natalie and gives her a bottle of oil.

Craig, Morgan and Jeff start snickering

Morgan - Kinky

Natalie rolls her eyes and she takes the bottle from Eve

Natalie - Grow up. The purification rituals are done?

Eve - As you instructed.

Natalie - Now you remember what I've told you? About . . .

James sighs a little and checks off his list of "things to do" verbally but in a bored and non committal voice

James - The pledge I have to make, the evocation of my rights as a seer. . .

Natalie - (grabs his head by the chin and looks at him) I'm serious. This isn't going to be a cakewalk, you have to do this exactly as I instructed and have the utmost respect for these guys. They can see truth even the ones you don't realize you've been hiding.

James - (sighs and nods then walks over to Eve and stands across from her) Are you ready for this?

Eve - No

Natalie - Remember that time runs differently on plains of the mind. You may be a few minutes, you may be a few hours. What ever the length of time, you will be protected, so just focus of why you're there.

Craig - We got you covered Eve. Nothing is going to enter this tomb.

Eve - (looks at James) That's not what I'm worried about. (sighs and looks away) Let's do this.

Morgan Jeff and Craig leave the tomb. Eve and James lay down on some sleeping bags that are placed strategically among the candles and crystals. Both reach across the crystals and grab each other's hand. Natalie whispers a little prayer and then binds their hands in a silver cord. Both Eve and James close their eyes. Natalie takes the bottle of oil. She rubs a dab of it on James's forehead before moving to Eve's. James begins speaking.

James - My mind to your mind. My strength becomes your strength. My powers become your powers

Eve - (repeating) My mind to your mind. My strength becomes your strength. My powers become your powers.

The crystals begin to light up and glow. We angle in on Eve and James's clasped hands as they suddenly hold on tighter and the cord tightens and begins to glow.

James - As a visionary, I evoke the Prophet Effect!

The candles all burst into flames surrounding the tomb, Natalie ducks for cover as the fire swirls around the cave then for over Eve and James and turns into nothing more then sparkles setting over them lightly. We pan down on Eve's eyes. She snaps them open.

We pan out from Eve's face as she looks around at a blue and white lights zipping past. We pan out and see James behind Eve. They are dressed in their regular clothes. They seem to be in a vortex.

Eve - Do you think we performed the ritual correctly?

James - No way to know. I've never done this before.

Eve looks around the vortex. In the streaks of blue, faces appear and disappear.

Eve - Um . . . James . . .

James - (looks around and sees the faces) I guess I better state my intentions. . . .

Echoing Voices - Words mean nothing in this world.

Eve - I believe in you James. (she grasps his hand tightly)

James - (smiles at her before looking forward and calling out) I evoke my right as a seer . . .

Echoing Voices - To advance a power you selfishly damaged . . .

James looks to Eve worried

James - I guess Natalie was right. They see the truth, even ones we try to hide from.

Eve - We can turn back . . .you don't need to prove . . .

James - (lets go of her hand) I am on a mission to save souls and protect them against evil. I did make a mistake in bargaining with a false muse, that's why I'm here, to rectify that action. I need to repair this power and possibly enhance it. I need to see what is coming, to prevent the damnation of all.

The faces in the vortex flash as they unconvinced. Eve steps in showing her support

Eve - As the Messenger of Eli we humbly ask that you acquiesce our request. We are in great need of your assistance. Surely you know as we do, the threat of Lucifer and his protégé. James can help us foresee what might happen next. With his help we can protect all.

In a flash of light the vortex opens up. Eve and James are planted right in the middle of an epic war outside the gates of an ancient city. James pulls Eve close to his chest as soldiers fight around them. Noise is everywhere as shields and swords clash and blood and guts are spilled everywhere. Eve and James squeeze their eyes shut and remain close together for there is nowhere else to go. Suddenly everything is quiet. Eve and James pull apart and see nothing but dead bodies around them. Eve gasps as she pulls away. The gates to a great wall are open. A beautiful woman with long blond hair slowly walks out from the now ruined city.

Woman - (scoffs) How do we know this quest does not possess the same selfishness of a previous quest? Evoking the powers of the muse realm was so selfish that you could not even see that you were being tricked by a demon.

James - I'm human. I make mistakes and I have to live with the pain I put people through. But you . . . are you are going to let my mistakes decide the fate of millions of innocent souls.

Woman - You decided their fate when you put yourself in a position to damage your powers, otherwise you would not be here.

James - I'm here to put things right.

Woman - Do you understand what you are doing? Are you prepared to pay the price should you pass our examination?

James - In a heartbeat

Woman - (looks upward and then back to James) We have decided.

Eve - Decided? Decided what?

Woman - James, re incarnation of Virgil, a chosen prophet, granted powers by Apollo though the bound promise of Daphne will take the Trial by Fire to induce the Prophet Effect. I, Cassandra of Troy, Prophetess of the fall of Troy, both Blessed and Cursed by Apollo, shall judge your first test. The first test is FACE YOUR ENEMY!

Suddenly James looks around him. He is alone on the battlefield with dozens of soldiers gathering around him ready to attack.

COMMERCIAL

James suddenly looks panicked as the soldiers surround him. He gets into an uneasy defensive stance.

Cut to atop the wall of Troy where Eve and Cassandra are watching the first test. Eve whips around to face Cassandra.

Eve - What is this?

Cassandra - The first test.

Eve - Dead soldiers of Greece and Troy are not his enemy

Cassandra - Do you really think he sees soldiers?

Cut to where James is. We see from his point of view that he is not battling soldiers but demons. Two demons from opposite sides lunge at James. James jumps up and does a split kicks in the air and kicks the two demons back. Another demon jumps at him and he steps to the side using the demons weight against it and throws it into another demon knocking it down. Two other demons runs up to James and kick him down at the same time. James falls on to his back and somersaults backward to get on his feet again. James runs up to the demon and up it's front flipping backwards and kicking another demon down. The demons start coming up to James faster. James reacts. He dodges out of the way and side steps demon. He punches one in the face then ducks the hit from another and punches it in the stomach then on the back knocking it down. James spins around and kicks a demon in the chest the stomach then the face. James then spins around and kicks the same demon in the back knocking it down. All the demons lay unconscious on the ground. They vanish. James looks around confused.

Cut back to wall where Eve and Cassandra are.

Eve - Yes!

Cassandra - You didn't think it was going to be that easy did you?

Cut back to James. He looks back to the wall until he is pushed from behind. He turns around. There is Carrie staring him in the face.

Carrie - You jerk!!

Cut back to Cassandra and Eve.

Eve - Oh no. (moves to leave the wall)

Cassandra - You can't help him Eve

Eve ignores her and walks out the entrance. Cassandra smiles and looks to the other side as Eve enters from the opposite entrance. Eve stops short and looks around her confused

Eve - I have to go down there! I have to explain to Carrie . . .

Cassandra - (ignores her) He needs to face this on his own. That is not Carrie but the personification of his true enemy.

Eve walks over to the wall and jumps off the ledge. She lands right back next to Cassandra.

Cassandra - You want so much to protect your friends from harm. Do you so fiercely protect them to make up for failing to protect Tao An, or maybe Alex?

Eve - Stop it!!

Cassandra - The truth is crippling isn't it. Let me impart a few more words of truth. There are no happy endings. It all ends the same way and it is never good.

Eve - It only all ends once. Anything before that is progress.

Cassandra - (surprisingly laughs)Do you even understand the irony of trying to save the very humans who would lock you away for shattering their fragile perception of their life?

Eve - I've learned that I don't need to save the world I just need to save one. It starts with one and it can spread for good is as eternal as evil. How's that for truth? And here's another. . . James has a gift. He can see things we cannot. It helps us. We can stop damage before it starts, stop the prophesized evil that could cripple the universe.

Cassandra - (sighs) What will be will be. Great gifts can also be great curses. I was a very powerful prophetess once. Gifted by Apollo and then cursed by him because I was devoted to servitude not prostitution. As a result, no one believed my prophecies. My own family shunned me, locked me away and just as my entire city was burned to the ground. It all could have been prevented if they only had listened instead they took the very actions that would condemn them to death. Then I was captured, taken away to be a slave to a foreign king, only to be killed by his murderous wife. I saw it all. It could have been prevented and it came to pass.

Eve - Your life was a tragic one

Cassandra - That is the life of a visionary. Shunned, spurned, enslaved, killed. James's fate is unknown but if he knows the power I have, he will also know the pain.

Eve is left troubled by this as Cassandra looks back down to where Carrie is confronting James.

Carrie punches James. He looks at her stunned. She punches him again. He doesn't retaliate so she kicks him in the gut. James, winded falls to his knees.

Carrie - Come on! Fight me!! Hit me! You know you want to!!

James - (struggles to stand up) No I don't

Carrie - (punches his back so he falls down again) Come on! Do it!

James - (looks up at Carrie and realizes something) I already hurt you. You needed me and I failed you. I failed my friend

Carrie - (punches him again and again) Shut up!

James - Carrie . . .

Carrie - If you apologize to me, I will beat you to death!!

James - . . . Go ahead.

Carrie kicks him one last time in the gut. James puts his hands to his stomach and wheezes. He sighs and gets up. He looks at Carrie.

James - What are you waiting for? Go on.

Carrie - Is that what you want?

James - I wanted to help you. I was so shocked when I found out you were on drugs, I felt betrayed . . .but it was never you I felt betrayed by, it was myself. I failed you, I wasn't the friend you needed. I was so consumed in my own life and failures and I failed those who mattered the most. . . I'm still failing, I drove you into that madness and now I can't help my friends to get you out (tears fall down his face) I'm a failure. (gets on his knees and looks at her with arms wide open and pleading eyes) Tell me how to make it right and I will

Carrie steps back away from James and fades away. James looks stunned at her disappearance. He gets up and looks around the barren wasteland of Troy. He looks behind him and sees Cassandra

Cassandra - You faced your enemy. Failure can cripple you more than any demon. You are right about one thing James, you are human and humans make mistakes. What matters is what you do afterwards. Accepting that you do fail and are willing to learn from those mistakes is a start.

Cassandra and the walled city of Troy vanishes and James is left alone in the blue streaked realm.

Eve appears and flies into his arms and gives him a hug.

Eve - You did it!

James - (hugs back awkwardly) Yeah I guess I did. I'm not sure what I did exactly.

Eve - (thinking about some of the things Cassandra said) This may not end the way you want James. Are you sure you want to continue on? You don't need to do this.

James - I have to do this. I need to know.

Eve - Know what?

James - Don't worry Eve. I can do this. I passed one test

James and Eve look around and find themselves in the Scottish Highlands. James looks behind him and a dark haired Scottish man walks in to view.

Man - I wouldn't celebrate just yet. (he bows) Good day to you. I am Coinneach Odhar the Brahan Seer but you may call me Brahan. I will judge your second test. FACE YOUR FEAR!

James is grabbed by the collar of his shirt and whirled around to face Eve. She slaps his face.

COMMERCIAL

Eve stands next to Brahan shocked as she looks at her double slap James in the face. She looks on as James steps away from the doppelganger, shaking his head clearly afraid.

James - Eve, what are you doing?

Eve - James! James that's not me. That's someone else!

Brahan - He can't see or hear you. As far as he is concerned the woman who just slapped him in the face is you.

Eve - What kind of test is this!?

Brahan - He is facing his fear and . . .

Eve - An angry me is the personification of his fear?

Brahan - He feels unworthy. His greatest fear is that you and your friends also feel that way.

Eve - I've never felt that way!

Brahan - Your rejection of his love makes him think otherwise.

Eve - These tests . . . (shakes her head unable to find the words)

Brahan - (laughs) These aren't just tests, they are revelations.

Eve - You're much more open about the purpose of all of this then Cassandra

Brahan - Yes well, Cassandra gives you much more credit than I do. But she is a woman, I suppose she empathizes with you.

Eve - Sexist. . . Look, I thought these tests were to judge James' worth to receive the restoration and enhancement of his powers.

Brahan - We are not determining his worth. James is.

Eve - So the Prophet Effect isn't real?

Brahan - Oh the Prophet Effect is real but your focus determines your reality here. If James comes to terms with who he really is, we will restore his powers. Receiving an enhancement of power will be up to him

Eve - So what am I here for?

Brahan - You have as much purpose here as he. You will eventually have to lead an army in a spiritual war. How can you come to grips with such an awesome responsibility when you can't even come to grips with your own feelings?

Eve - If you're talking about James, I know how I feel

Brahan - Then let yourself feel it.

Eve and Brahan look to James and the double of Eve. Eve 2 pushes James in the chest.

Eve2 - How could you? Don't you know how dumb it was to call upon the muse realm?! It was a trick! A demon. You could have got us all killed!!

James - Eve . . . I'm . . . I'm sorry.

Craig2 - (appears and walks over to stand by Eve) Sorry? You're sorry? For what? You didn't do anything! You never do anything.

Morgan2 - (appears and circles around James) And you're not much of a fighter either.

James - But . . . I . . . I . . .

Jeff2 - (appears and joins the others) What good are you? What use do you have? What do we keep you around for? Oh that's right. You help run the centre.

James sinks to his knees and covers his head in anguish.

Jeff2 - Useless

Morgan2 - Pathetic

Craig2 - Weak

Eve2 - Really James. We can't use you. You're damaged goods. After that muse incident you're just not up to par. And now in a fight you can become a liability. How can you help anyone if you can do that much damage to yourself?

James - (realizes something) You're right

Eve2 - What?

James - (gets up) I'm not like the rest of you. I'm just . . .me. But I'm training, I'm getting stronger. That's why I'm here now, to help you guys see what's coming before it happens. I've done it before, I can do it again, only this time better and more efficient. I'm not a fighter. I'm not a cop. I'm not a wiccan. I'm a visionary.

Eve2 - You have helped us. Many times.

Craig2 - You went to all that trouble to learn how to do a mind search to help me when Thuvan trapped me.

Morgan2 - The gods tried to take away your visions of Alex because they knew how much of a threat you are. You have great importance.

Jeff morphs into Natalie

Natalie2 - You have great power.

Eve2 - And you've seen the best in me even when I couldn't see it myself.

The doubles of Eve, Natalie, Craig and Morgan disappear. Brahan walks up to James and sits down on a rock next to a large dolman. Eve lingers behind.

Brahan - But it's easy to see the best in others. It's harder to see the best in yourself. Isn't it?

James - My fear is that I actually am worthless and that my friends thought so too.

Brahan - They never did. You're very important to all of them. And you realized that you can't be perfect, you can't be everything everyone wants. You can only be who you are and you are not without worth. You faced your fear. You passed.

James - So one more to go right? If I pass, do I get the boost too?

Brahan - Is that really what you want?

James looks to Eve then looks back to Brahan. James doesn't answer but just looks away.

Brahan - (nods understanding) Ask yourself why you really want it. Will it be worth the pain?

James - Pain? . . . That's the price isn't it?

Brahan - I made many prophecies, I was much respected among my people. But then I made prophecies that upset them. I spoke my mind and infuriated nobility. I was pursued for many years, tortured and spat on. I was accused of witchcraft and they burnt me to death in a tar barrel.

James - People don't act like that anymore.

Brahan - Maybe not but the result will be the same. Because of fear and hatred they will persecute you until you are imprisoned or dead.

James - There's a bigger picture here. I want to help people. They need Eve and . . .

Eve - And I need James. We are a team and we are the only ones who can fight the evil the plagues our world.

The Brahan Seer smiles. He gets up and bows and then disappears. The Scottish Highlands disappear and James and Eve are left alone together in the blue streaked realm. Eve and James stand facing each other. Although Eve had just defended James he can tell that she is angry with him.

James - What?

Eve - What was that?

James - You were the one who hit me

Eve - That was your fear! Why am I your fear! Did we ever give you a reason to think that you weren't a part of this team? That you weren't worthy?

James - No . . .

Eve - And what was that with Carrie? She was not your fault.

James - It's not like that Eve!

Eve - Then Brahan was right. They aren't judging you. You are judging you. This was never about the Prophet Effect was it? Are these tests just to punish yourself? What is all this about?

James - No! . . . At first it was about helping you. I know the risks but I wanted this for you. (takes her hands) I fear for you, I fear that you will lose yourself amongst the battle against Lucifer. You are taking on so much and it's ebbing away at what makes you a savior. I would do anything to ease the burden.

Eve turns away from James but he continues.

James - But as I continued on I realized that this wasn't about you, its about me. I need to know who I am and where I fit it this world.

Eve - (whispers) You fit in my world

James smiles and walks over to Eve. He strokes her cheek

Eve - I don't want to lose myself to the battle. You keep me on my path, a path filled with hope. I don't want to lose that . . . but that's not the only reason why I don't want to lose you. James I . . .

James - (stops her) Please don't. Not unless you mean it. Eve, I had to prove to myself that I had made the right decision in coming back and helping you fight, that I had a place in your world.

Eve - Three tests won't determine who you are. That journey is still before you.

Eve envelops James within her arms. He melts into her embrace as he listens to her words

Eve - Whether you had these powers or not James you would have always been worthy to fight with us simply because you want to make a difference, that you want to help people. If there is nothing else you know about yourself at least know this. You are courageous and compassionate and strong because you face what we do everyday and you have stuck by us in all of it, through everything.

James looks at her

Eve - Not all of us are strong enough on our own but that's why we have friends. I'm only strong enough because I have you. Please know that whether your visions restored or not, you are enough

Voice - Face yourself!

James and Eve confused look towards the voice of the figure that is coming out of the blue mist. It is a middle aged blond women

James - Mom?!

Eve - That's your mom?

Kate - Hello James (looks to Eve and smiles) Eve

James - What are you doing here? Why are you here? How?

Kate - I'm here to tell you about your third test. Facing yourself. You must face the truth of who you are, the history. You are worthy but if you truly want the power, you need to know the pain.

James - I don't understand.

Kate - I am a seer James. Just like you and just like the many before us. Look around you James.

James looks around at the many faces flashing in the realm.

Kate - These are your people. These are your ancestors.

James - You never told me! Why?

Kate - I wanted to spare you. It doesn't matter what time you are from, people fear what they don't understand. They feared Cassandra, they feared Brahan, and they feared the Fox sisters, our ancestors. They feared me. I was always on the run, from persecution and from myself. Eventually your father found out and he left me too. Our kind are treated like witches. We are tortured and studied and taken advantage of. I wanted to spare you that. To have our power is to be alone, to be isolated.

James - I'm not alone mom. I have friends, I have a destiny, and I can make a difference.

Kate - (smiles through tears) I know. I've seen your destiny. It is to be with Eve and use your powers for good. You are accepted among these people and I accept everything you are and all you've done. I am so proud of you.

James walks to stand in front of his mother and hugs her. She cries in happiness and embraces her son. There is suddenly murmurs and whispers soaring through the realm. Eve, Kate and James look around the realm.

Kate - You've passed all tests. You will be restored to full power but now you must decide if you want to heighten it by way of the Prophet Effect. I must warn you that it may not be what you expect.

Eve puts her hand to James shoulder. James takes her hand and gives it a squeeze

James - I accept

Eve - NO!

A flash of white fills everywhere whiting everything out.

Cut to James and Eve in the Evans tomb. Their eyes snap open scaring Natalie!

Natalie - Whoa! Could you guys at least try and go through with it!

James and Eve get up and look at each other

James - Why'd you stop me?

Eve - I couldn't let you James!

James - It wasn't your decision

Eve - It would bring more hurt and pain then you deserve and I couldn't let that happen to you! I love you!!

Natalie's eyes widen in surprise

James is about to answer when he looks out towards the entrance of the tomb

James - Mom! She's headed this way and demons are coming!

James runs out of the tomb

Natalie - Well he got his powers back! And they are finely tuned! So it did work. You guys weren't even under for a whole minute. Why'd you stop him from getting the boost?

Eve looks at Natalie and then runs out of the tomb after James.

Cut to outside in the cemetery. Craig, Morgan and Jeff are walking out on patrol. They see a blond women walking toward them. From behind they see demons running up behind her.

Craig - LOOK OUT!!

Out of nowhere James runs up grabs a sword out of Jeff's hands and throws it right into a demon's stomach and pins it to a tree scaring Kate half to death. James runs over and grabs the sword out of the demon and tree and slices it's head off. James then jumps up and flips over to the other two demons. He spins punches and kicks and slices their head off too. He looks to his mom who looks relieved. He drops the sword and gives her a big hug.

Craig - (clearly confused) Fine then.

Natalie and Eve run up just to see James hug his mom. She sighs in relief.

Morgan - So, James is back to full power.

Eve looks over to Kate. Kate smiles and gives a little nod to Eve. Eve smiles and nods back.

Fade to later in Eve's apartment. She sighs looking at the stars. James walks into the apartment.

James - Hey

Eve - Hi.

James - I take it the others out patrolling.

Eve - Yeah. We may have only been out for a minute but I feel like I've been fighting all night.

James - I know what you mean . . . (uncomfortable silence between them) . . . So I was talking to my mom. It seems if you hadn't have pulled me out of there my mom would have. I could have had the powers if I wanted it but I wouldn't have been able to conceal them like I can now. The boost of power would have overloaded my senses. I would have seen everything, in every way. I would have been driven mad. So I should thank you. You were right.

Eve - Maybe, but I would have helped you through it all anyway. I just didn't want you to know that pain. I know I can't protect everyone from every horrible thing in the world but I will never stop caring about the people I love and do everything I can to protect them.

Eve stands up and James walks over to her and looks at her knowingly. She nods.

Eve - Yeah. That's right. Sometimes I think I don't deserve you but it doesn't change how I feel. I love you.

James - I love you too.

James leans in and kisses Eve gently at first. Eve then wraps her arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around her waist and they come together in a passionate embrace.
