It's night. Pan down from the moon shining bright to Times Square. Fade to a quiet street, panning over to the centre. Fade in to Eve and James's apartment. James has apparently gone to bed but Eve is still sitting in front of her Eli shrine. She is praying but suddenly sighs with frustration. She shakes her head and gets up. She cannot clear her mind. She walks over to the balcony and looks out.

Eve (voice over commentary) - How did it get like this? We used to be so close and now we seem so far apart. I know he's in pain. I share his sorrow. So why am I so angry with him?

Eve - (sighs and moves to her bedroom) I wish I could understand.

Fade to a pan across the Manhattan skyline. Fade from the skyline to Craig's apartment building. Fade into his apartment. Craig is sitting at the table, a cauldron smoking on top. He is sitting there looking bored not really paying attention to what he's doing. He's just chucking some herbs in.

Craig (voice over commentary) - Everything is so messed up. Did it start with Thuvan or with Alex and what we could have had? Eve was the only one to understand but now all we do is fight. I know I've changed but she judges me for it. I'm just so angry all the time. And I'm mad at her for not understanding that! I can't even begin to understand it myself.

Craig - (throwing more herbs into the cauldron) I wish I could understand.

Craig sighs and throws one more piece of herb into the cauldron. Suddenly an explosion bursts forth from the cauldron blasting Craig back into the wall. He's knocked out from the force of the blast. Smoke and gold dust rise from the cauldron.

Fade to the sun rising in the morning. Fade to inside Eve's bedroom. The sun pours in from the window. She's roused awake by the warm sun on her face. She wakes up startled. She looks around the bedroom confused at her surroundings.

Eve - What the . . . (as she gets up she notices her body and looks at her hands in horror) OH! NO NO NO NO NO!!!

Eve rushes out of her bed and out of her room. In the hallway she pushes James out of the way. She barges into the bathroom

James - Hey!

Cut to Craig's apartment as the morning sun streams in the windows. He gets up from the ground. He shakes his head trying to shake off the hurt. He leans back against the wall, trying to let the dizziness pass

Craig - Whoa.

Craig thinks for a second and then becomes very confused. He looks around the apartment. He gets up slowly and notices something is wrong. He looks at his hands. He becomes horrified. He runs to the bathroom.

Cut to a split screen as Craig and Eve respectively go to their own bathroom in a panic and look in the mirror

Eve/Craig - AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

THE DAY BEFORE

It's early morning. Pan around the centre, the light from the sunrise streaming in through the windows turning everything orange. Everything is peaceful.

Craig - EVE!!

A load banging comes from outside

Craig - (voice from outside) EVE!!! (bangs loudly on the door) EVE!!

Cut to Eve in her bedroom. She squeezes the pillows against her head hoping Craig will go away but he persists. She looks at the clock. It's 5:00 am. She growls

The loud banging continues. Cut to the centre. The lights turn on. Eve stumbles out of the back room. She walks over to the entrance and let's Craig in. Craig walks in looking like he's in a hurry. He has his duffel bag with him and he's wearing clothes to work out in.

Craig - 'Bout time! Why was the door locked?

Eve - (confused by his bursting in) It's 5:00 am?

Craig - I wanted to get some more workout time in. I figure early morning is the best time.

Eve - IT'S FIVE IN THE MORNING!

Craig - It'll pay to work on my technique.

Eve - Craig, this can't go on. I can't get up every morning to let you in. I need sleep and when we're out until two in the morning I can't get up at five. I'm only human. I need more than three hours of sleep so I can perform my job properly.

Craig - What job? Counting money? Watching people work out? How hard can that be?

Eve - (offended) I run an entire centre Craig! I have a whole new respect for what Alex used to do here. It's not as easy as it looks!

Craig - Oh give me a break. I'll just go to another gym

Eve - Fine (walks off)

Craig - (panics) Wait! I'd have to go clear across town, I'd never make it!

Eve - We're not open Craig!

Craig - EVE!

Eve - (spins around) WHAT!

Craig - What has gotten into you?

Eve - 5:00 am

Craig - What's with the Alex complex?

Eve - Me? You're the one with the desire to squash every demon that hits the streets.

Craig - Fine (grabs his bag in a fit) You want to slack off? FINE!! Don't come running to me when a demon has your soul!

Craig storms out banging things as he goes. Just as he slams the door behind him, Eve has a come back.

Eve - Yeah! Well . . . (noticed he's gone) Well shoot.

Cut to 8:30 am. Craig is in the car with Jeff and Natalie on the way to NYU.

Craig - Shouldn't you be working on a case or something?

Jeff - Yeah and its at NYU. Remember, you recommended me to your Dean when he commented on some weird happenings. That's why I offered the ride. Morgan is back at the office doing the paperwork.

Natalie - (in the back seat) And I'm helping with the line of questioning

Jeff - (smiling) My secret weapon against less than forthcoming witnesses and suspects.

Craig sighs sadly. Jeff looks at Craig worried.

Jeff - Is something wrong?

Craig - It's Eve. I don't know what wrong with her lately. She completely flipped out because I woke her up so I could work out at the centre.

Jeff - We were out until two last night. Can you blame her?

Craig - We used to be on the same page about everything but I just don't get her anymore. With Lucifer coming down extra hard, the demons and now this strange masked enemy, you'd think she'd want to be on top of everything with more training and more focus on patrols.

Jeff - That can't be done without sleep.

Natalie - Look Craig, with all due respect with how you've organized patrols, you should know better than most that Eve's real weapon against Lucifer is helping people, changing their lives for the better. That's what keeps Lucifer in Hell.

Craig - But what if that's not enough anymore?

Natalie - The training she's doing will help her control her powers to defeat Lucifer.

Jeff's car stops in front of NYU. Craig, Jeff and Natalie get out.

Craig - You're right. I've been too hard on her. I've been too hard on everything. I'll talk to her after my class.

Natalie - She'll come to you, you know.

Craig - (shakes his head) She knows I have classes to teach. I'll talk to her later.

Jeff and Natalie watch Craig walk into one of the buildings. Jeff looks to Natalie.

Jeff - What do you think?

Natalie - I think there's more going on then what Craig's admitting to but I can't get to it. It's buried under denial. I also think it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Jeff - You don't need to be a psychic to figure that one out.

Fade to the centre. Eve is at the juice bar not working but more staring out into space. Loud crunching sounds are heard. Pan over to Morgan at the bar. She's reading a fitness magazine and chewing on some ice-cubes. The load crunching sounds make Eve look to her.

Eve - Shouldn't you be at the office working on a case or something

Morgan - (still reading) Jeff and Natalie went to NYU on a case. I'm supposed to do some filing but I didn't want to so I came here.

Eve - (sarcastic)You're an amazing assistant Morgan

Morgan - (ignoring the sarcasm) Yep.

Eve sighs sadly

Morgan - (rolls her eyes) Oh crap. (puts down her magazine) What's wrong now?

Eve - It's Craig. He seems so consumed by pain and anger. He's so vindictive like he's got a score to settle.

Morgan - Can you blame him? I mean, after what Lucifer did to him and I know he misses Alex.

Eve - (nods) I thought Alex leaving would make him lonely or sad but its worse. He's driven with anger. He's always so angry

Morgan - But he's putting it into something productive like patrols and hunting. And I know you're more focused on helping people after saving them from harm.

Eve - Helping people is the most important part of our mission!

Morgan - As the Amazons used to say: "The jackals are gathering." Our enemies are gathering around us and they will pounce if we do not step things up. Craig's drive with patrols will help. If you let him focus on patrols we can keep the demons at bay while letting you do what you do best. So cut him some slack.

Eve - (thinks about it and nods) You're right. I've been too hard on him. I just don't want him to lose his heart. I have to explain that to him. I'm going to go talk to him right now and apologize for my outburst this morning.

Eve walks out of the centre as Morgan leans back and props her feet up on another stool. A customer comes up to pour them selves a smoothie. She rolls up her magazine and hit him with it.

Morgan - No free refills!

The customer backs off scared and Morgan goes back to reading her magazine.

Fade from the centre to NYU. Fade to a crowded hallway with students and professors roaming the hall. Eve is pushing her way through the people. She passes by a room and through the window notices Craig writing things on a white board.

Cut to Eve bursting through the door.

Eve - Craig!

Craig - (turns to Eve in shock) Eve?

Eve - Craig, I am so sorry for the way I acted this morning. I know you're still working through everything you've been through and I'm so sorry I haven't been supportive. I just want you to know that I understand.

Craig is silent as Eve looks slowly to her right and notices she is in an auditorium full of students

Eve - . . . And I guess they now know that too.

Craig - (sighs and turns to the class) Okay guys I guess I'm ending things early today.

Students cheer a little as they empty the classroom

Now that the classroom is empty Craig starts gathering his things. Eve looks at him wincing a little about how she embarrassed him.

Eve - (sheepishly) I'm sorry about that as well.

Craig - (sighs) You could have waited. I was going to call you right after this class so we could set aside some time to talk.

Eve - I didn't know you had a class right now.

Craig - (walks out with Eve behind him in to the hallway) Why would you, you're too focused on yourself to notice what other people are doing.

Eve - Hey I came here to apologize!

Craig - (turns around) Okay, that last comment was out of line. But, you could have blown our whole cover just bursting in like that. That was really reckless. (lowers his voice)I swore you were going to tell them I was possessed! How would you like it if I just told everyone you're from Ancient Greece

Eve - (rolls her eyes) Oh come on Craig! You teach Greek Mythology! Let's face it, I should be in your class everyday for show and tell.

Craig - Eve, this is College not Kindergarten!

Eve - Craig you talk in front of a bunch of kids all day! How hard can it be?

Craig scoffs and walks away. Eve grabs him by the arm and turns him back to her

Eve - We need to talk

Craig - (sighs) You're right. (sarcastic)And if you had have waited until after class I would have told you that I'm also sorry about the way I acted this morning. (shakes his head and becomes serious) I guess I'm little too focused on patrols but I just want to be ready for what ever happens. I guess we're all a little wrapped up in our own lives these days.

Eve - What's that supposed to mean?

Craig - What? I said I was sorry

Eve - Oh yeah you sound really sorry. I don't know what to do with you anymore! What happened to you?

Craig - (angry) What happened? You want a list? I'm sorry but I don't have time to list every crap thing that has happened in the last two years! But how would you know about any of that? We don't talk anymore!

Eve - Maybe that's because we can't have a normal conversation! All we do is argue because you can't be civil for two seconds! (shakes her head and puts her hands up in surrender) You know what? Fine. I take it back. I'm not sorry. (pushes past Craig and storms off) Men!

Craig - (turns around and storms off) Women!

Pan over to a bunch of students who watched the whole thing

Students - Teachers!

Cut to a science class room. Jeff and Natalie are talking to a young man. We pan around to the professor and see he looks a lot like Caligula.

Jeff - I have to admit Professor Newman you're a lot younger then I expected. I mean some of this research dates back to the 1950's . . .

Newman - (gets all cocky) Ah well you know . . . child prodigy.

Jeff looks suspicious

Newman - (rolls his eyes and sighs) I swear . . . It's my father's research. I'm just carrying on the tradition . . . see the photo

Jeff looks at the files and at the newspaper article with picture. The elderly man looks an awful lot like Newman

Jeff - Oh. Well Professor . . .

Newman - It's Dr. Newman, thank you. And can you tell me exactly what you're doing with all my research and personal information?

Jeff - I'm a private investigator. The university hired me to investigate some disappearances connected to suspicious illnesses on campus. All students involved have a few common links. Like they've all taken your classes and they've all been involved with your research.

Newman - Excuse me but I have ethics you know! This compound is still in its experimental stages! I wouldn't even test it on rats let alone humans!

Jeff - Who said anything about testing?

Newman - . . . Oh . . . well that's what you're implying isn't it?

Jeff - Is there any weird side effects that come from the fumes or . . . ?

Newman - The only way you can be affected is if you drank it or injected it into your blood stream. Why are you bothering me? I'm sure there are other "common factors"

Jeff - There are but I have to check every eventuality. I'm sure you understand.

Newman - Whatever!

Jeff sighs and shakes his head. He looks to Natalie but she just shrugs in response. They both turn to leave.

Newman - You might want to check out the cafeteria. If there is anything weird . . . it's going on there.

Jeff nods slowly and walks out. Natalie gives one last look to Dr Newman and walks out after Jeff.

Jeff - Did you get anything off of him?

Natalie - He's definitely covering something up but I have no idea what. That's the problem with trying to read the mind of a genius. I can't understand a word they're thinking!

We cut back to Dr. Newman who pulls out a cell-phone and dials a speed dial number.

Newman - We have problem . . . I know how to fix it. Just make sure they're ready.

Fade to later that night. The gang are scouring the back alleys. They've split into two groups. Morgan and Eve are walking down one alley way. They crouch behind a corner and see an amphibian hybrid going through the garbage.

Morgan - Should we kill it?

Eve - If they're as intelligent as they seem we may be able to get some information and find out what exactly these things are! Don't slay it, not yet!

Eve and Morgan come out from behind the corner and run at the demon. Morgan strikes first with a punch. The demon dodges to the left avoiding the punch making Morgan go over to far but she compensates by lifting her foot high up behind her hitting the demon in the face. Morgan then spin the leg around and tries to kick the demon but the hybrid pushes the leg back around and punches Morgan in the back making her fall to the ground. Eve, coming up behind Morgan avoids her falling form by running up along side the alley wall and doing a cart wheel in the air flipping over to kick the demon in the head. The demon flies back by the force of it. Eve picks the demon up by the neck by the demon screeches as it shoves away Eve's arms and hits her straight in the chest knocking her down. Morgan runs up to the demon jumps up and kicks it back. The demon however retaliates. The demon spins around in the air and lands at Morgan's side scratching her. She screams, for it has drawn blood

Cut to another alley away. Jeff James and Craig whip around as they hear the scream.

Jeff - Morgan!

Jeff Craig and James run to Eve and Morgan.

Cut back to Eve and Morgan. Eve is fighting now. Her and the demon both throwing and blocking kicks and punches. The demon evaded one of Eve moves and catches her by the throat. Suddenly out of nowhere Craig jumps on to the demon's back making it let go of Eve. Craig spins around on the demons back before the demon slams Craig into a wall making Craig let go. The demon turns to escape but finds its way is blocked by James, Eve, Morgan and Jeff. The demon takes out a syringe spins around and jabs the syringe into Jeff. Jeff screams falling back . . . just as the demon jumps up to gets away Craig reaches up and grabs the demon by the leg and pulls it down making him slam on the ground. Craig picks the demon up by the neck and snaps the demons neck making it fall down dead. Morgan goes over to Jeff who is nursing his arm. He seems to be okay. Eve just looks at Craig

Eve - What was that?

Craig - I believe it's called saving your life

Eve - I was handling it. Now Jeff is hurt and we're no better off than we were before.

Craig - What?

Eve - We engaged it so we could capture it and get information!

Craig - I didn't know they could talk.

Eve - I guess we'll never know now.

Craig - Since when was getting information was on the agenda

Eve - When did we have an agenda!?

Craig - We need a structured way to do things!

Eve - You never used to be this controlling.

Craig - I never used to be this, I never used to be that! PEOPLE CHANGE!!!

Eve - THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE CHANGING MY PATROLS!!

Craig - Your patrols?

Eve - (realized what she said was a mistake) I didn't mean that.

Craig - Your patrols!? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK STARTED THIS? I BROUGHT YOU HERE TO HELP NOT TO TAKE OVER!!

Suddenly Jeff collapses to the ground

Morgan - Jeff!!

Craig and Eve are jolted out of their fighting as they go over to Jeff, who shivering and sweating at the same time.

Eve - What happened?

Morgan - (panicking) I don't know . . .he just collapsed

James - (picks up a syringe) I think this has something to do with it.

Craig - (takes the syringe carefully from James) Poison?

Eve - We have no way of knowing what it is

Craig - Are you blaming this on me?

James - (trying to salvage the situation) Craig, can you do a revelation spell? Then we'll know what it is and can find an antidote.

Eve - That's a good idea. In the meantime we should take Jeff back to the centre to look after him

Eve and Morgan pick Jeff up and balance him over their shoulders

Craig - I can't believe you're blaming this on me?

Eve - CRAIG PLEASE!! (pleading) Jeff is in pain and we don't know what's wrong. So go home, do the spell and find an antidote. We'll take Jeff back.

Eve James Jeff and Morgan walk out of the alley as Craig just stands there holding the syringe. His eyes downcast, feeling upset and ashamed.

COMMERCIAL

James bursts into the bathroom to find Eve standing there looking at her reflection in the mirror. She is stunned

James - Eve? What's wrong? (grabs her by the shoulders)

Eve - (shrugs the hands off) Whoa!! Get off me man!

Eve barges past James and start pacing back and forth not knowing which way to go, completely in a panic.

Eve - This is bad. This is so bad. Oh man this is a disaster!!! (hands go to the chest and she looks down in shock) Oh not cool!

Cut to Craig's apartment. Craig is in his bathroom. He is looking at his reflection in astonishment. He touches the class gingerly.

Craig - Oh . . . . Oh. He did this! . . . (realizes something and starts shifting his hips about and recognizes what it is and looks down) Oh gross!!

Craig begins to panic. He staggers around the apartment, not knowing where to go or what to do.

Craig - I got to . . . . I got to get out of here! I got to get to the centre.

Craig spins around and finds a jacket lying on couch. He picks it up and puts it on and head for the door. He runs out the door. After a minute he walks back in and sees the set of keys on the hook next to the door. He smiles slyly and grabs the keys.

Cut back to Eve's apartment. She is still pacing back and forth in a panic. James is looking at her confused as Morgan comes out of the other room.

Morgan - What's going on? What is the commotion?

James - (shakes his head) Eve has just lost it!

Suddenly there is banging heard from outside

Craig - (voice) CRAIG!!! CRAIG!!!

Eve - Uh oh! (runs to the balcony to and looks over the side. She sees Craig banging furiously on the door)

Jeff - (comes out of the other room looking weak) What the hell is going on?

James - (sighs as he heads out of the apartment to the downstairs) I better go let him in before he breaks down the door

Eve - (from outside on the balcony) Wait! No no no!!! (runs out after James)

Cut to downstairs as James opens the door. Eve bursts in through the backroom just as a furious Craig pushes his way through the door. Morgan and a very weak Jeff appear from the backroom.

Craig - (points to Eve) YOU!

Eve - (getting a little freaked) Now Eve . . .

James, Morgan and Jeff are shocked

James - What?

Craig - How did this happen? WHY?

Eve - I . . . I don't know. I was mixing some things for the spell . . . I . . . well . . . I was thinking about everything that happened and I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing and . . . and then it blew up in my face and now . . .

Craig(Eve) - Let me get this straight. You did a spell and now I'm you and you're me?

Eve(Craig) - Okay now Eve . . .

James - Whoa Whoa Whoa. Hold on a sec. Craig did a spell and now Eve is Craig and Craig is Eve.

Eve(Craig) - I didn't intend for this to happen. I was mixing the potion and while I was doing it I was thinking about . . . how I wished I could understand Eve.

Craig(Eve) - (remembers the night before) I was praying to Eli last night. I wished I could better understand you!

James - That must be it then. Your psychic powers must have honed in on the essence of the spell Eve. The spell was to reveal, uncover that which can't be seen. Perhaps you two don't see each other anymore

Morgan - You two have been fighting a lot lately

Eve (Craig) - And magic doesn't always work the way you intend but it does work.

Jeff - I must be hyped up on what ever those demons injected me with cause all that actually made sense

Craig (Eve) - (getting upset again) But I didn't wish to be stuck in his body! Craig if you hadn't had your little Alex complex with your super demon killing spree, we wouldn't be in this predicament.

Eve(Craig) - My Alex complex? My Alex complex?!!! Excuse me you're the one freaking out here!!!

Craig(Eve) suddenly launches at Eve(Craig)

Jeff - You know I think the both of you are having an Alex complex!

James and Morgan go to pry the two off of each other. James lifts Craig(Eve) off and Morgan pulls Eve(Craig) away.

James - WOULD YOU TWO COOL IT! Craig, is there a reversal spell?

Eve(Craig) - No! The point of a revealing spell is to reveal what is hidden and until we find out what that is we're stuck like this!

Craig(Eve) - I don't have time for that. I have to open the centre!

Eve(Craig) - And I've got classes to teach.

Jeff - Hello! Kind of in pain over here.

Everyone begins yelling at each other while James pinches the bridge of his nose takes a deep breath and sorts things through

James - EVERYONE SHUT UP!!!

Everyone stops abruptly, startled by James' out burst

James - I can't believe I'm being the rational one. Okay. (takes a calming breath) Eve go back to Craig's apartment and change into a suit. Gather all the stuff he was using last night. Drop it off here on your way to the university.

Craig(Eve)- What?

Eve(Craig) - What?

James - Eve is going to teach Craig's class. Craig, you're going to stay here and help me run the centre, I'll give you sufficient time to do analyze that syringe and make an antidote. In the meantime you're going to see first hand what you haven't been paying attention to. It's time for you to see life through each other's eyes.

Fade to later that morning in Eve's apartment. Craig in Eve's body is in the kitchenette staring at his new chest.

Eve(Craig) - This is so disturbing

James enters the apartment with a bundle in his hands

Eve (Craig) - Where've you been?

James - Well, while you've been feeling yourself up, I went to Little China (ignores the glare and continues) Eve's taking longer than expected and Jeff's getting worse so I picked up some herbs. Do what you can to ease his pain. I'll need you down stairs in an hour.

Eve(Craig) - An hour?

James - Ten o clock is our peak time. I'll need all hands on deck.

James leaves the apartment to return to work at the centre.

Fade to a little bit later in James' bedroom Jeff is lying on the bed sweating a lot and moving his head around shifting and twitching. Craig in Eve's body hands Morgan a small bowl.

Eve(Craig) - Here. This will settle him a bit.

Craig goes around to the other side of the bed and sits down at the edge as Morgan lifts Jeff's head to slowly feed the broth to Jeff who sips slowly. As she lays Jeff back down he starts to breathe easier. He opens his eyes a little and looks at Eve. He blinks a couple times realizing its Craig with Eve's sad eyes.

Eve(Craig) - I'm sorry Jeff. This is one big mess

Jeff - (weak) Could be worse. You could be in Morgan's body.

That gets a small laugh from Craig and Morgan but Craig goes back to frowning.

Eve(Craig) - I don't know what happened. I just lost it, especially after she blamed me, but maybe she's right.

Morgan - It could have happened to any one of us.

Jeff - It's happened plenty times before.

Eve(Craig) - So why did I lose it now? Why did my issues manifest into this (gestures to him/her self)

Morgan - Does it have anything to do with Alex? Are you putting a little too much focus into patrols in order to take your focus off of missing her.

Eve(Craig) - (shrugs)Maybe but I really don't have time to miss her.

Morgan - That's the point. Look, I'm no expert on expressing feelings but the more you bottle things up the bigger the casualties when it decides to blow. (gestures to Craig) Case in point

Jeff begins couching. Morgan goes to him with a handkerchief as Jeff spits up blood.

Morgan - Oh no!

Jeff - Tell me about it. I'm beginning to feel like I caught whatever's going around at NYU

Eve(Craig) - The semi epidemic you were building a case on? Do you have the same symptoms?

Jeff - (realizes) Yeah . . . Yeah I think I do.

Eve(Craig) - I'll call Eve and get her to do a little snooping and then I'll find exactly what was injected into you.

Cut to Craig apartment. Eve is there in Craig's body fully dressed but she is sitting down beside a closet looking into an old box. With Craig's hands Eve goes through the contents. Old photos of Craig with his family and Alex are there, right from childhood into adulthood. Eve smiles at Craig's memories as she looks at an old Halloween picture of Alex and Craig at age six dressed up like a traditional witch and warlock.

Eve also laughs slightly at the huge claw-like tooth with a tag attached to it. It says 'The first demon we ever killed.' Eve then notices recent pictures of Alex and even of the gang. Every picture that was ever taken of Alex is put in the box. Eve then looks around. She gets up and looks in the living room. There are pictures of Eve and Craig and of Eve and even a couple of Jeff and Morgan but no Alex.

Craig(Eve) - Craig, what are you doing?

Suddenly a phone rings. Eve in Craig's body looks around for a few moments before realizing the cell phone in the jacket.

Craig(Eve) - Hello

Eve(Craig) - (voice over the phone) Where the hell are you?

Eve looks at the clock

Craig(Eve) - Oh no.

Eve(Craig) - (voice over the phone) You've got to be kidding me!! Just get to my class!! And listen, while you're there snoop around a bit. Jeff is showing signs consistent with that seen in the students in the case he's been investigating. The ingredients in the syringe are the same to what is used in Dr Newman's research and he's a suspect.

Craig(Eve) - You think there is a connection between him and the demon that attacked Jeff?

Eve(Craig) -(over the phone) I'm working on it but I need you to get to Dr Newman's lab. Whether he's involved or not he may have ingredients that can be used in an antidote. But first things first! Get to my class! I'll contact you later.

Craig(Eve) - Listen Craig, I'm sorry about what I said earlier . . .

Eve(Craig) - (over the phone) Later Eve! My class isn't getting any smarter. I have a lesson plan in the desk . . . . Wait, how are you getting there?

Craig(Eve) - Driving. Bye.

Cut to Eve's apartment where Craig in Eve's body stands there dumbfounded with the phone still in hand

Eve(Craig) - Crap.

James barges through the door just then

James - Craig! Downstairs now!

Cut to the centre downstairs. The place is packed solid. Craig in Eve's body walks through the back door and almost gets knocked over. He walks over to James who looks frazzled.

James - A waitress is sick, inventory is due, this place if over crowded and breaking the fire code, someone just broke a piece of equipment and the Board of Health got wind of my smoothies and are coming over and I'm already behind on today's cash count

Eve(Craig) - What do you want me to do about it?

James - If Eve were here, she'd get half the people out, get inventory done, then serve some tables before going over to fitness and taking care of the equipment. But right now you can do the cash count

Craig takes hold of the money and starts, he gets confused along the way then has to backtrack. He gets confused again picking up slips and receipts and memberships and coins and has stuff all over the place. James rolls his eyes and quickly takes it away from him.

James - I'll do the count. Just try and get some people out of here before the Health Board gets here.

Craig nods and goes down to the gym are. He tries talking to some one but they walk past him. He goes up to a table but they all get up and leave. He goes over to a barbell but the guy is so big that he just turns around. Craig goes back and forth every which way as people ignore him and push by until he is made dizzy.

Eve(Craig) - How does Eve do it all?!

Cut to an auditorium classroom. It's empty. Just then Eve in Craig's body bursts through the door and is out of breath as she practically collapses on the desk.

Craig(Eve) - Woo! Made it!

We pan up to one male student who wakes up suddenly with a snort. He was taking a nap on one of the seats. Eve looks up and around. She's surprised

Craig(Eve) - Where is everyone?

Student - (rubs his eyes and yawns) Five minute rule Professor. If the teacher is five minutes late the class gets to leave. And you're (checks his watch) half an hour late.

Craig(Eve) - Oh no! Craig is going to kill me . . . I mean . . . uh . . . .uh?

Student - You okay Sir, you look a little spacey

Craig(Eve) - I guess you could say I'm not quite feeling myself today. (looks to the student) Why are you still here?

Student - (nonchalant) I'm just catching up on some Z's. Ancient Civilizations is way too early in the morning

Craig(Eve) - Is the class that boring?

Student - Naw, your lectures are pretty inspired actually. You talk about the times as if you lived them or something.

Craig(Eve) - Can I ask you something? What do you think about me as a teacher? Honestly.

The student looks hesitant

Craig(Eve) - I won't . . . flunk you or anything. You're honest opinion is off the record

Student - Dude, you're a hard ass. Seriously, you're like a term paper nazi!!

Craig(Eve) - Controlling huh?

Student - (shakes his head) Well, I mean we all wish you'd ease up when it comes to grading cause you're real strict with rules on formatting. But, hey, at least you actually take the time to sit down and talk with each of us about our papers unlike other professors.

Craig(Eve) - (surprised) Yeah?

Student - (confused at the reaction) Well . . .yeah and that's not an easy feat considering you teach three different classes at four different levels and you have a couple hundred students. You don't even have a T.A. Everyone's impressed at how you manage to keep so organized, let alone keep your lectures interesting and alive. Quite frankly it's the only thing that keeps me awake in the mornings

Craig(Eve) - (more to herself) I never realized . . .

Student - What? That half of us wouldn't have the good grades we do if it wasn't for you making us strive to improve. Several of us would really like to get you as a mentor but word is you don't mentor anyone.

Craig(Eve) - I've been busy lately

Students - Yeah well with all the work you do with the students already, I'm not surprised. You should think about getting a teacher's assistant. It would free up some time. You look like you could use some time off anyway . . . you look a little peaked (watch beeps) Got to go, got to get to my next nap . . .I mean class

The student leaves and Eve in Craig's body leans against the desk stunned.

Craig(Eve) - I never realized teaching was so hard.

Voice - It happens

Eve looks up and sees the Caligula complete with toga standing at the door.

COMMERCIAL

Craig(Eve) - OH NO WAY!!

Newman - Nice right! Toga party

Dr Newman enters the office looking a little bored and snooty. Eve backs up, shocked. Dr Newman is confused by the reaction.

Newman - Do I have something on my face?

Craig(Eve) - (still shocked) You could say that.

Newman - What is wrong with you? I got a message from some girl that you wanted to see me about something . . . Eve, I think her name was

Craig(Eve) - What? Who?

Newman - I'm Dr Newman you imbecile! Well if you didn't want to see me who did? (shakes his head as he walks of muttering) The incompetence!

Eve curses silently to herself when she realizes she just chased off the man she was supposed to snoop on. She (in Craig's body) quickly pulls herself together and follows after Dr Newman

Cut to a laboratory. Eve walks in looking around. No seems to be there. She is about to turn and leave when hearing voices coming from an office.

Male Voice - Look I need the . . . what are you wearing?

Dr Newman - I went to a toga party last night and I just go back okay. I'm just re-experiencing some of my youth. Is that such a crime?

Eve goes over to the wall by the open door and leans against it to hear what is being said.

Cut to inside the office. Dr. Newman is talking to a dark male figure whose face is obscured by the dark.

Male - Remember who is funding your research Doctor.

Dr Newman - (scared)I know

Male - We require an antidote. Before a human soul can be harvested the subject must be transformed back to human. We've found that any demon physiology left taints the purity of the damnation.

Dr Newman - Messy business their transformation though, the sweating, the coughing up blood, gross!!

Male - DR NEWMAN!!

Dr Newman - (startled) All right geez!! I've got a shipment. Pick it up at the Pier 19 near the old ship yard tonight. It's clearly marked as an antidote so your tiny demon mind can't miss it.

A green hand shoots out of the darkness and grabs on to Dr Newman's throat

Male - Careful what you say Doctor

Newman - (choked voice) Sorry

The hand lets go off Dr Newman and recedes back into the darkness.

Male - Pier 19. It better be there.

Pan out side to where Eve in Craig's body is hiding. She backs out slowly making her exit.

Cut to later the evening in the centre. The centre is now empty and James is by the counter counting the money. Craig in Eve's body sits beside him, his head resting forehead first on the counter.

Eve(Craig) - I'm beat. You guys do the kind of stuff everyday?

James - It's hard work running a centre.

Just then Eve in Craig's body barges into the centre.

Craig(Eve) - We can get the antidote. I heard Dr. Newman talking to someone and you were right Craig, there is a connection. The hybrids are actually humans. Whatever Dr Newman is mixing turns them into highly evolved demons with human intelligence and superhuman strength.

Eve(Craig) - That son of a bitch.

Craig(Eve) - But there's an antidote. The antidote turns the demon back into human form. Lucifer wants them damned but human. Apparently damned human souls make him stronger.

James - Where can we get it?

Craig(Eve)- Pier 19, the old shipyard. We can get it to Jeff and maybe even save the other hybrids.

Eve(Craig) - (nods)I know where that is.

James - Then you two should go and alone.

Eve(Craig) - I don't think that's a good idea

Craig(Eve) - Yeah we might . . .

James - Understand each other better.

Cut to Eve and Craig in each others bodies walking the road down to the dock.

Craig(Eve) - Nice night

Eve(Craig) - Yep

There is a moment of awkward silence between the two

Craig(Eve) - (sighs) I missed your morning class today. I managed to get there for the end but the students were already gone

Eve(Craig) - Pulled the five-minute rule did they?

Craig(Eve) - I'm afraid I didn't get much else done. You still have marks to get out and papers to grade and you missed all your appointments with your students. I never realized how much you do before, or how hard it is. I hope I didn't ruin things for you today

Eve(Craig) - (sighs and shrugs)I was coming up for a some sick leave anyway. I'll just count today as a day off. I'll do the work on the weekend and rearrange my appointments on Monday. Assuming we're back to normal by then. . . Your job isn't as easy as I thought either

Craig(Eve) - So I heard. It's not always that crazy.

Eve(Craig) - We averted the crisis with the board of health but your inventory is still not done, your cash count is wrong, a piece of equipment is broken and you may have lost a few customers due to my crappy skills as a waiter.

Craig(Eve) - All minor incidents.

Eve(Craig) - I'm sorry about what I said to you. I acted like you sat around and did nothing all day. Clearly that's not the case and despite what happened today that centre is a great place for people to come and better themselves. I saw that for myself and how you are apart of it making it run smoothly.

Craig(Eve) - (smiles)It was Alex's idea to begin with . . . Your students really look up to you, you know. I'll never know how you can take the time to meet with all of them, organize your classes and organize patrols. No wonder you're so stressed out. And I've just been adding to your burden

Eve(Craig) - (shrugs)What's life with out a little stress?

Craig(Eve) - You should think about getting a Teacher's Assistant. It might help ease some of the work.

Eve(Craig) - Can't do that Eve. That would mean giving control to someone else and I won't do that again.

Craig(Eve) - (stops and turns to face the other) Again? Are you talking about the way Alex and I handled patrols?

Eve(Craig) - No, I'm talking about Thuvan. I didn't have control over my whole life for a year. Do you know what it's like to feel completely powerless in your own body, to have no control and know there's nothing you can do?

Craig(Eve) - I'm sorry I . . .

Eve(Craig) - I need to feel like I have some sort of control over my life especially in a time when everything is such a mess and with Alex gone . . .(stops short)

Craig(Eve) - Craig it's okay to feel sad that she's gone, it's okay to express it. It doesn't mean a loss of control

Eve(Craig) - I used to think that I was the only one who could keep her under control and focused but it was the other way around. Always thinking about her gave me something else to focus on other than my own problems. She was always a constant in my life. She was this pillar that I could build everything else around like my classes, the patrols, my whole life and now that she's gone . . .

Craig(Eve) - You feel like your whole life is crumbling around you and you're hanging on to any kind of normalcy

Eve(Craig) - And the more I think about her, the more I'm reminded that she's not there anymore, the I'm reminded that my life isn't my life anymore

Craig(Eve) - But this is your life Craig. We're all still here, it's just that Alex isn't. You told her once that she'd have to learn to live on her own. It's time to take some of your own advice Craig and learn to pick yourself up, to live again without Alex.

Eve(Craig) - If you haven't noticed, that's what I'm trying to do

Craig(Eve) - You're trying to forget Alex, I saw the box.

Eve(Craig) - (angry outburst)I'm trying to forget the life I used to have, when everything made sense! A year, I was taken by Thuvan and when I came back nothing was the same! I didn't have my job, I didn't have my patrols, you and Alex weren't the way I remembered you. I am slowly trying to build up my life from nothing because when I came back I came back to nothing! I HAVE NOTHING!

Craig(Eve) - That's not true! You have your friends! You have me!

Eve(Craig) - Do I?

Craig(Eve) - Of course you do. Craig, when I felt alone and lost, trying to build a life in a world and time that was and still is so foreign to me, you were there, guiding me. Even when you had your own problems and issues and life you were there helping me and (begins to realize) . . . Craig I'm so sorry. I really haven't been there for you have I? I was so busy . . . .

Eve(Craig) - Fulfilling your destiny. (sits down on a crate) Oh my god! (gives an unsteady laugh) That's it isn't it?. All your time is divided between training with Natalie, the vision quests, re discovering your past, the physical training, the patrols, the centre! Why would you have any time for me? You're fulfilling your destiny while trying to live a normal life, without me.

Craig(Eve) - What do you mean?

Eve(Craig) - (Gets up and walks over to face Eve and takes a hold on her/his hand) I finally understand why I've been so upset. You have a life and a destiny and I just don't seem to fit anymore. I used to be the one you turned to. I miss that. I miss us.

Craig(Eve) - I don't want us to drift apart Craig. We've been through too much together. You must know you have a place in my life, you always will.

Eve takes a hold of Craig and embraces him. Eve and Craig rest awhile in that embrace.

Eve(Craig) - This is so weird being embraced by my own arms.

Craig(Eve)- Yeah

They both laugh. Suddenly Eve lets go of Craig and looks around.

Eve(Craig) - What is it?

Craig(Eve) - I don't know I'm still getting used to hearing things in this body (listens carefully)It's the demons at the pier. They're unloading the antidote. We have to go!

Cut to the dock. Craig and Eve duck down behind some crates. They see a shipment of boxes being ready to be shipped out. A green bald-headed humanoid/ demon in a leather jacket walks over to inspect the case.

Eve(Craig) - Never saw one of those before.

Craig(Eve) - Could be a prototype, one of Lucifer's earlier creations.

Eve(Craig) - No time for speculations. They are getting ready to ship out.

Craig(Eve) - I'll distract them, you get the antidote.

Eve(Craig) - Are you sure you can manage that chakram with my body?

Craig(Eve)- You're reflexes are better then you think. Let's go.

Craig in Eve's body goes around to the other side and makes his way through the crates keeping down low until he reaches a spot close to the shipment. Eve in Craig's body walks out into the open. The green man spots her first.

Green Man - Get him!!

A series of half man/half demons run toward Eve ready to attack. Using Craig's body, Eve throws the chakram. It ricochets of boxes and other shipments. In order not the get hit the demons focus all their attention on dodging the chakram. The green man sighs.

Green Man - And here I thought I would be dealing with the Messenger. Now every bozo with a knack for math thinks they can be a hero.

Eve in Craig's body flips over a series of crates and takes swing at the Green man. The Green man ducks the swing and sends an uppercut punch to Eve that sends her flying back. From behind the boxes Craig winces

Eve(Craig) - (whispers)Watch the body Eve!

Craig then begins to move out from behind the boxes to try and find the antidote.

Cut back to Eve and the Green Man. Eve swings twice and misses twice but she then jumps up and spins around with a kick knocking the green man in the face. Unfazed he spins around and hits Eve in the chest sending her crashing into a pile of empty crates. Eve gets up again.

Green Man - Are you a glutton for punishment?

Craig(Eve) - It is harder then I thought it would be in this body. (picks up an axe that she landed beside)

Eve swings the axe around as the Green man just dodges and spins out of the way. On the last swing, the Green man dodges under and punches Eve hard in the stomach. The force of the blow sends Eve in Craig's body, flying back. The demon walks over to her and kicks her in the face. Eve gets up and tries to strike but the demon catches the wrist and twists it making Eve let go of the axe. Seeing the green man leaving himself open, Eve quickly kicks the demon hard in the stomach making him fall back a few feet. He looks up astonished.

Green Man - Owe!

Cut back over to Craig in Eve's body, looking through the crates and boxes.

Eve(Craig) - Antidote . . . Antidote. Where can I find the antidote?

Craig moves himself in front of box labelled antidote. He stops for a second and looks at the label.

Eve(Craig) - How about that.

Craig gets up lifts up the lid and grabs a vial and sticks it in the coat pocket.

Eve(Craig)- (looks to Eve) I GOT IT!!

Craig(Eve) - (gets up and calls out) DESTROY THE CRATE!!

Eve(Craig) - WHAT?

Craig(Eve)- DO IT!!

Green man - NOOOOO!!

The Green man is about to run over when Eve in Craig's body grabs him by the arms and spins him around pulling him back to the action. Craig meanwhile finds a fallen gun on the ground. He checks for bullets and finds it's full. He hesitates for a moment.

Eve is Craig's body runs up jumps on a crate to propel her high in the air. She kicks the Green man in the head and he goes flying back. Eve walks over as the Green man looks up.

Green man - Who are you?

Craig(Eve) - The Messenger of Eli. I'm just wearing a different outfit today. (Eve kicks the Green man back)

Craig, at a safe distance, fires the gun. The crate of antidote blows up and the Green man screams and he is consumed in the fire.

Eve jumps over the crates and runs with Craig out of the shipyard. At a good distance they run behind a building for cover and a breather.

Eve(Craig) - You really wanted that antidote destroyed! That's my kind of thinking.

Craig(Eve) - We had no choice. Souls would have been lost to Lucifer. While they're still in demon form we have a chance to reach them and save their souls before changing them back.

Eve(Craig) - I know (takes out a couple more vials) That's why I saved these beside the one I have for Jeff. I can find out what's in them and duplicate it.

Craig(Eve) - (smiles) And that's my kind of thinking. I guess we understand each other better than we thought after all.

Fade to a dark red domain. The Green man stands to the left. He is severely burnt but still alive. Dr Newman still in his red toga stands in the middle examining his fingernails looking bored and to the right the dark masked figure stands silent but proud. Lucifer sits upon his throne before them awaiting an explanation. The Green man speaks up

Green man - I can't explain it. It was the Messenger but it wasn't. I don't know what's going on but they have the antidote now and destroyed the rest. They've probably saved their friend by now (looks to Dr Newman) Your plan failed!

Dr Newman - You let them get the antidote Mister tall green and ugly

Lucifer - SILENCE!!! We will continue on as planned. Doctor, you will make more of the antidote and more of my demons.

Dr Newman - I'm going to need more money!

Lucifer - You'll get your money! (looks to the Green man) Gawain, you will continue with the training. I want our army in top condition. Now get out of my sight.

Both Gawain the Green man and Dr Newman leave. Only the dark figure remains.

Lucifer - And you my dear must continue with your work. It's time to recruit the next member.

Cut to early the next morning as the sun rises in the east. Fade to a restless Jeff in James's room being injected with the antidote. He settles a bit.

Fade to later. Jeff walks out of James room, revived and rejuvenated. The antidote worked. He smiles as Morgan gives him a hug. Both smile as they leave Eve and Craig alone with the spell book. Craig still in Eve's body shakes his head as they sit down on the couch.

Eve(Craig) - AHHHHH!(leans back on the couch with hands over the eyes in an over dramatic distraught manner.) I've leafed though the book a dozen times. I don't get it. The spell should be complete.

Craig(Eve) - We can't go on like this. Is there something we're missing? Something we do not yet understand about each other

Eve(Craig) - (hit with a realization) Maybe (takes Eve(his) hand and stands up) Eve, do you remember what I said to you last night

Craig(Eve) - Yes. You feel like you don't fit anymore

Eve(Craig) - No Eve. I feel like I don't fit in your life. The only way you'll truly understand is if I explain to you explicitly.

Craig still in Eve body leans forward but finding it kind of awkward steps back. He then takes Eve(his own) head and pulls it down and kisses the lips. The kiss suddenly becomes stronger and more urgent as Eve responds. They seem to meld together. Suddenly two little lights stream out of Craig and Eve. It swirls around them both then one light goes into Eve and the other into Craig. They have switched back into their own bodies. Both become more relaxed as they continue to kiss.
