“I send you all on a special mission”
Reading: Matthew 17:1-8 (especially verse 5)
Dear friends,
The Father calls us all to make His Son Jesus known to all our friends and neighbours.
I came back last evening from a Cursillo weekend in South Rustico, P.E.I. for men. It was a very powerful weekend, which touched everyone there. I will go to the Manor this afternoon to visit my mother and to celebrate Holy Mass with the Catholics there. I will soon have to start packing again to go to the Province of Quebec, and to Maine, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. I’m leaving Friday, November 16 and will be back on the 28th.
My half-hour of contemplative prayer was spent with our Heavenly Father. He said, “Melvin, My son, I love you and I bless all My sons and daughters throughout the world. I have created all of you because I love you and I wish you would acknowledge Me, your Father. Many of you love to pray the prayer ‘The Our Father” taught to the Apostles by My Son Jesus. If it is prayed slowly and from the heart, this prayer brings great joy to My Heart.
I sent My Beloved Son Jesus to be born of the Virgin Mary and to live among you as a man. I sent Him among you on a very special mission. He came to express His great love for you and to reveal to you how much I love you. Jesus came as your Saviour to make atonement for all your sins by His suffering and death on the cross. He took your place on the cross because He loves you with all His Heart and He wants you in heaven one day.
You know that the punishment for sin is death but instead of you dying for your sins, My Son Jesus took upon Himself all the sins of the world and paid the price for them, which is death. He is truly your sole Redeemer and by His death He re-established the bond between you and Me. Now if you are sorry and promise to amend your life, I will absolve you of all your sins. I will wash you clean in the blood of My Son Jesus.
It is very important, therefore, that all people living in the world come to know Jesus, My Beloved Son, and to believe in Him. I send you all, My dear sons and daughters, on a special mission to make Him known to the men and women of today.
Look around you and see the many who do not believe. Show them the great joy it brings you to believe and love Jesus, My Son, and to follow Him every day. You can teach them not only by words but also by your actions. In fact, actions speak louder than words. I want every person to come and believe in Jesus, My Son, and to walk with Him every day. I bless you all.”

"If you wish to strengthen your faith, you must nourish yourself with the blessed Eucharist, which is the 'Mystery of Faith' and fortifies faith" (Francis Xavier Cardinal Nguyen Van Thaun).
Mother Cabrini, and her sisters, made several Holy Hours of Adoration before the Sacred Eucharistic Heart of Jesus every day, despite their very demanding schedule. She said, "Pray always with Jesus, always remembering that a soul united with Jesus can do everything."

Meditations by Padre Pio - I beseech you, for the love of God, do not fear God, because He doesn't want to do you any harm at all. "From the spiritual point of view, the basic trouble with people who were pampered early in life is pride, egotism or selfishness. Their complexes are due to a great extent to a want of practice of the virtue of humility. They have developed the wrong treasures, and therefore the heart is in the wrong place.
As Our Blessed Lord said, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" (Matthew 6: 21; Luke 12: 34). It makes little difference whether we possess the treasure or not; what matters is that we love it. In this case, the treasure is the exalted opinion we have of self, or having our own will satisfied. If this be the treasure, then all the affections, desires and feelings we have intertwine about our ego."

During a meditation on humility, an old doubt returned: that a soul as miserable as mine could not carry out the task which the Lord was demanding [of me]. Just as I was analyzing this doubt, the priest who was conducting the retreat interrupted his train of thought and spoke about the very thing I was having doubts about; namely, that God usually chooses the weakest and simplest souls as tools for His greatest works; that we can see that this is an undeniable truth when we look at the men He chose to be His apostles; or again, when we look at the history of the Church and see what great works were done by souls that were the least capable of accomplishing them; for it is just in this way that God's works are revealed for what they are, the works of God. When my doubt had completely disappeared, the priest resumed his conference on humility.
Jesus was standing, as He usually did during each conference, on the altar and said nothing to me, but with His kindly gaze pierced my poor soul which no longer had any excuse. (464)

Today's Tidbit An ascetic, like Josaphat, exercises self-discipline in all forms for the love of God and spiritual improvement. This usually deals with curbing physical wants, but also may deal with curbing internal wants. An ascetic seeks to conform all his or her appetites to right reason and the law of God. Asceticism is not an end in itself, but is directed to allowing a more perfect love of God

Nov 12 - WITHSTAND EVERY TRIAL
Speaking of trials, the Madonna once said in a weekly message:
Dear children, today I wish to tell you that God wants to send you trials which you can overcome by prayer. God is testing you through daily difficulties. Thus, pray to peacefully withstand every trial. From God's testing you will emerge more open and loving (Weekly Message August 22, 1985).
And from Peter's first letter:
Yet if any of you suffers as a Christian, do not consider it a disgrace, but glorify God because you bear his name (1 Pt 45:16).
Reflection:
There is a legend about a monk who was walking in a monastery garden alone, thinking of the Passion of Christ. It was Holy Week. As he slowly paced along, he saw something lying in the path, and picked it up. The voice of Christ told him it was the crown of thorns that he had worn. He reverently placed it on the altar. Needless to say, never had Holy Week been so meaningful, for the sight of that crown of thorns made the monks realize the sufferings and love of Christ more than they had ever done before.
As Easter Sunday dawned, the monk rose early for his Easter prayers of thanksgiving, and came into the chapel. As the sun shone through the window, it played upon the altar and rested on the crown of thorns, but something miraculous had happened. There in the Easter sunlight the thorns had blossomed into a rainbow of budding flowers.
There are thorns of sufferings and trials in every life, and it seems that only a spirit of acceptance can bring peace in these situations, acceptance, and turning to Christ for solutions and healing, as the Virgin recommends today. Running in circles or complaining rarely helps. But recourse to the Lord of Peace always will.

Today, offer this prayer for times of trial:
Dear Lord, please help me to accept my trials and seek the serenity of your grace so that I might triumph over them, and not wear yourself out by straining or complaining. Amen.

HAS HAPPENED IN OUR CHURCHES AND I TELL YOU THAT YOU GRIEVE JUSTIFIABLY.
I TAUGHT YOU A WAY TO RECEIVE YOUR LORD IN WHAT MUST BE THE MOST REVERENT. THE

Nocturnal Adoration. I was suffering very much, and it seemed to me I would not be able to make my adoration, but I gathered up all my will power and, although I collapsed in my cell, I paid no attention to what ailed me, for I had the Passion of Jesus before my eyes. When I entered the chapel, I received an inner understanding of the great reward that God is preparing for us, not only for our good deeds, but also for our sincere desire to perform them. What a great grace of God this is!

Today's Tidbit The Fourth Lateran Council was held between November 11, 1215 and November 30, 1215. In the area of sacramental theology, this council ordered the annual reception of the Sacraments of Eucharist and penance by all Catholics, and defined and made the first use of the term Transubstantiation to describe the miracle of the change of bread and wine into Jesus' body and blood at the Eucharist. This council also adopted several measures to battle the Albigensian and Cathari heresies, and approve seventy canons to be added to Church Law.

Nov 11 - OPEN YOURSELVES MORE TO GOD
Today Our Lady invites us to a special openness:
Dear children, today I call you to open yourselves more to God so that he can work through you. The more you open yourselves, the more abundantly you will receive of his fruits. I also wish to call you again to prayer (Weekly Message March 6, 1986).
And in Luke's gospel, an invitation from Christ:
Then Jesus said to him, " Someone gave a great dinner and invited many. At the time for the dinner he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, `Come; for everything is ready now' " (Lk 14:16-17).
Reflection:
We are those whom Jesus has invited to come to his banquet. The feast he beckons us to is the Kingdom, and all is ready: the table is set and the food is prepared. " Come to the table, dine! " we are urged. To wait or hold back is needless.
The call of Christ is to come to a festive and joyous feast, and Our Lady echoes that call in her message to open ourselves. But what is it that keeps us from such a celebration? Perhaps somewhere we didn't hear or receive the invitation. Perhaps we did not really believe that the Kingdom would be joyous.
Whatever the reason, we have a new invitation now. Medjugorje has helped us to feel our hunger and thirst. Surely we now know we need to be fed, and most surely we could use some joy and celebration.
God is patient and tireless in summoning us, and his call is forever in the present. The feast never grows cold; he is never unprepared. If we hold back out of fear, guilt, or indifference, we can miss out entirely. But we need not keep missing out. All we need to do is stop excusing ourselves and enter the banquet hall.

A prayer for today:
Gracious Lord, rouse me to accept your invitation. Remove my laziness, dissolve my excuses, calm my fear. With a new openness to you and Our Lady, I shall take my place at your table. Amen

Jesus Speaks To Us Of The Power Of His Light
My husband and I (and now our grandson for the past month) attended the
8:00 a.m.
Mass at our parish, Our Lady Of Sorrows. I knelt and made an Act of Contrition
in preparation of receiving Holy Communion and prayed for all with special
intentions and needs; Our little children being kidnapped, raped and murdered,
our soldiers at war, those with terminal disease, the poor, the lonely, the
elderly and family.
After receiving the Most sacred Body and Blood of Christ, I knelt in silent
commune with Him and thanked Him and gave Him my love. Then after asking Him to
please cover me with His Most precious blood, I prayed, Speak Lord, Your servant
listens.
Jesus responded to my heart saying, Eileen My child, daughter of darkness
who rises into the Light. Know that The Light will always penetrate darkness,
but darkness will never penetrate The Light. Go in peace to love and serve the
Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters.

JESUS AFFIRMS HOW HIS LIGHT IS ALWAYS THERE TO GUIDE US!
At the 8:00 A.M. Mass I made and Act of Contrition and prayed for all with
special needs and intentions. After making humble offerings to Jesus and Mary, I
received the most precious body and blood of Christ through the Sacrament of
Holy Communion.
On my knees with the Host on my tongue I communed with Jesus, all the while
keeping my face from view and/or distraction covered in my hands. I asked Jesus
to please cover me with His most precious blood, and then prayed, Speak Lord
(always and only if it be His will), Your servant listens.
There were no words from Jesus, but a vision that affirmed his message of
last week, which I will also attach herein.
I saw a sky that was ominous and completely black, and very quickly
thereafter, the most beautiful Light began to penetrate the center of the
darkness and Light up the sky, and at once I knew it to be the presence of God

My dearest ones, I am your Jesus of Mercy. I hear your prayers this day for the
Holy Souls who wait in pain for their entrance into the heavenly Kingdom. Thank
you for these prayers. They all thank you for these prayers.
It is a feeling you can identify with, My children, to be helpless about your
own future. Perhaps you are feeling that these days. Although you do know that
your prayers have every action and power to determine your future; but consider
the poor souls who are there because they have earned the suffering and the time
of suffering for their sins, in reparation for their sins.
Still they cannot help themselves and this is My point, My children, that you are acknowledging them. Pray for them every day. Please remember to include them in your prayers somewhere. They will be praying for you, My dear ones; and you have a long
path to journey still.
My children, be good to each other. Be interested in each other's needs; and I
speak to people everywhere in the world, as you know. All of you are wearier.
All of you are feeling fatigue and perhaps a bit of flu, a bit of virus, a bit
of cold, a bit of discomfort of some kind.
Because you are fatigued, your defenses are not what they might be; so I ask you to pray in that vein as well for the healing of all your brothers and sisters, fellow pray-ers in the world as well as those who will be coming to you in the near future.
You have practiced through these years, becoming this and becoming that; and now
I ask you to practice being only aware of the needs of others and to trust Me to
take care of your own needs which I always do anyway, My dear ones, because I am
your God. I am your Savior. I am the One who walks with you with My Mother and
many Angels. So again I say pray about and for, think about and for each other.
There is much fatigue, weariness and illness in the world at this time. This is
also, My children, because of the plans of the New World Order people, who are
playing on and preying on the weaknesses of all My people; so you must bolster
each other and offer your own strength for each other's use along this way.
My dear ones, these are practical suggestions for practical problems and practical
needs in your life that you can identify with; and I ask you to enfold the world
in your hearts, in your arms, in your prayers that you might become closer in
this way as well, more bonded, more united in prayer for each other and with
each other.
Time grows very short, My children. Thank you for listening to My words. Pray
for each other this coming week especially. If you do this one week at a time
and renew your thoughts and prayers at the beginning of each week, you will do a
better job at remembering. I bless you all in the Name of My Father and in My
Name and in the Name of Our Holy Spirit. Amen, My children, Amen." Carol
