Remain close to Me

Reading: Psalm 75

Dear friends,

Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord, my God, you are great indeed! You are clothed with majesty and glory, robed in light as with a cloak. Psalm 104:1-2

My morning prayer today was spent with God the Father. He said, Melvin, My son, I bless you together with all My sons and daughters living in every country of the world. It was out of love that I created you and how I desire your love in return. Man rebelled against Me from the beginning but I did not abandon him. I sent My Only Son to be your Redeemer in order to reconcile you all with Me. My Beloved Son accomplished with His supreme sacrifice all that was needed to wash your sins away so that you could be My beloved children once more.

My message to you today, My sons and daughters, is very important. Many of you have sunk deep in sin once more. You have turned your back to Me and follow the wiles of the devil. Darkness has filled your spirit and your heart and you are far from Me. I ask you, My people, do you want to experience another disaster in your lifetime? Do you want another world war? Do you want the destruction of your country or your city? Remember that peace and joy are gifts from Me, your Father. I am ready to give them to you at all times but if you reject Me and refuse to ask for these gifts, what am I to do? I wish to warn you that if you follow the devil and do his bidding, he can only lead you to disaster. He does not love you in the least. His only desire is to destroy you and to destroy the world I created for you.

I know there is a group that is very faithful to Me and to My Son Jesus. They strive every day for holiness and for a deep friendship with their Saviour and Me. They ask daily for the graces they need to follow My commandments and to love every person. They are My joy and one day they will be with Me in heaven. However, modern society, which is under the thumb of the evil one, persecutes them in a shameful way. Instead of honouring them for the good they do, society mocks them and wants to get rid of them. Pray for the conversion of these people before it is too late. Remain close to Me. I love you.

P.S. Yesterday at 3:00 p.m. we went to the Ecumenical Service at St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish. These days the Church is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Week for Christian Unity. Only a small group attended from the various parishes and churches around.

Today I will drive David home to Fredericton, New Brunswick. I will not be able to send a message tomorrow because I will only come home in the afternoon.

Jan 22 - KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU

Today Our Lady blesses us with love: Know that I love you. Know that you are mine. For no one do I wish to do more than what I wish to do for you. Come to me, all of you. Stay close to me so that I can be your mother always. Come, for I wish to have all of you. (Locution from Jelena & MiriJana February 25th, 1985)

St. John speaks of God's love in this famous passage:

God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness on the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world (1 Jn 4:15-17)

Reflection:

"Come to me, all of you," Mary beckons us today, inviting us to feel their protective love. This is the motivation of our faith, our hope, our service to others. St. John even capsulized the divine nature in saying simply: "God is love." It was the starting experience of this love, during a dark period of my life, that drew me to the priesthood. My whole understanding of God, faith, of life itself, was changed profoundly. I saw love as the center of everything, and it was then that I decided on the goal of my life: to serve love. This was my conversion, the opening to a new life. Having been reared a Catholic, it seemed to me that the priesthood was a natural way to live out this goal. Then came the seminary, the books, theology, and training. But the first thing was love.

Application:

In prayer, relive an experience of God's love. Reflect on the following: The longest way to God, the indirect, lies through the intellect. The shortest way lies through the heart. Here is my journey's end, and here its start.
