My daughter, Offer your suffering and your tears to Our Lord so more come to
know Jesus in this time of God's mercy and grace. So many are on the wrong
path, so please pray with me today for those who are living in darkness.
Prayer, suffering and sacrifice will truly save souls.
The Mass is the greatest prayer, so please tell my children the importance of
receiving Jesus in the Eucharist. Please remind my children to cleanse their
soul so they receive Jesus in the proper way. In order to prepare for battle
you must cleanse and nourish your soul. You must stay close to Jesus so you
have the grace needed to be true soldiers for Christ. Each of you must choose
the path that will lead you to Heaven. You must detach yourself from the world
and obey all of God's Commandments. You must spend time with Jesus and adore
Him in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
Now, please accept God's love and surrender your life to Him. Surrender and
accept His Divine Will and you will truly grow in holiness. This is the way,
all you have to do is trust and open your heart. Amen.

The following is the Gospa's message for April, 1990:
"Dear children, today I call you to seriously accept and live the messages I have given you. I am with you and I wish to draw each of you ever closer to my heart.
But to accomplish this, little children, I need you to pray and always seek the will of God in your everyday life. I wish that each of you discover the way of holiness and grow in it until eternity.
I will pray and intercede for you before God that you can understand my presence here for the great gift that it is--gift from God to both of us."

The ultimate purpose of the messages, of course, is to transform us into the image of Christ, that his peace may prevail:
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit. (2 Cor 3:17-18
Reflection:
Through his many scholarly books on theology, St. Thomas Aquinas' goal, like that of the Blessed Virgin, was to draw the individual closer to Christ so that he could be transformed into his image and likeness. He spent great effort in examining the characteristics of the divine nature and showing how we might acquire them. His composition of the following prayer reveals those virtues which he considered most important.
Application:
As Our Lady recommends, let us offer this Prayer for a Faithful and Upright Heart from the heart.

Once, the confessor told me to pray for his intention, and I began a novena to the Mother of God. This novena consisted in the prayer, "Hail, Holy Queen," recited nine times. Toward the end of the novena I saw the Mother of God with the Infant Jesus in Her arms, and I also saw my confessor kneeling at her feet and talking with her. I did not understand what he was saying to her, because I was busy talking with the Infant Jesus, who came down from His Mother's arms and approached me. I could not stop wondering at His beauty. I heard a few of the words that the Mother of God spoke to him [i.e., my confessor] but not everything. The words were: I am not only the Queen of Heaven, but also the Mother of Mercy and your Mother. Jan 27 - LET PRAYER ILLUMINATE YOUR LIFE
The Blessed Mother speaks of her favorite subject today:
"Dear children, today I call you to prayer. By means of prayer, little children, you will find joy and peace. Through prayer you will be richer in the mercy of God. Therefore, little children, let prayer illuminate your entire life. Especially, I call you to pray that those who are far from God may be converted. Then our own hearts will be richer because God will reign in the hearts of all. And so, little children, pray, pray, pray! Let prayer reign throughout the whole world. (Monthly Message August 25, 1989)
In this passage from Matthew's gospel, Jesus bears out the importance of prayer, and also its great power:
In the morning, when he returned to the city, he was hungry. And seeing a fig tree by the side of the road, he went to it and found nothing at all on it but leaves. Then he said, to it, "May no fruit ever come from you again!" And the fig tree withered at once.
When the disciples saw it, they were amazed, saying, "How did the fig tree wither at once?" Jesus answered them, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be lifted up and thrown into the sea', it will be done. Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive." (Mt 21:18-22)
Reflection:
Prayer is by far the most common subject of Our Lady's messages in Medjugorje, as well as a primary teaching of Christ in the gospels. It is the root of joy and peace, as Mary reminds us today, and its power is unbounded, as Jesus teaches his disciples in the gospel. Of prayer with the heart, John Bunyan wrote, "When thou prayest, rather let thy heart be without words, than thy words without heart." So much has been written about prayer that for now we might simply underline the words of Mary's message today: prayer begets true joy and peace. This is the peace the world cannot give; this is the joy that abides deep within the heart. There is no other way to obtain these gifts, not money, cars, homes, nor any of the world's allurements. There is only one way, a very simple way: our hearts opened to God in quiet prayer, in quiet communion with the divine Lord.
Application:
Give your fears and anxieties over to Our Lady today in prayer. Remain with her until you feel at peace.

God: 'Your nation is the United States of America. Pray for your nation for a great and powerful event is about to shake U.S.A. from coast to coast. Pray incessantly, for your people, for all creatures to come back to Me pronto!
Your country is in for a great wake-up! The time is very, very, very near! Keep your faith! Trust in Me, for I will take care of My own. I will send My Holy Angels to surround that which is Mine. BE NOT AFRAID FOR I AM WITH MY TINY REMNANT!
I will purge, I will cleanse, I will destroy, I will annihilate. When things are clean and pure once again My Son Jesus will have His Eucharistic Reign.

Jesus Petitions Us For A Lenten Sacrifice
Today we attended our usual 8:00 A.M. Mass at our parish, Our Lady Of Sorrows where I made an Act of Contrition in preparation of receiving Holy Communion and prayed for special intentions.
After offering up small gifts to Jesus and Mary, I received the Body And Blood of Jesus and knelt in silent communication with Him. First and foremost, I thanked Him for His many blessings. So acutely aware of His presence, tears brimmed over from my eyes, but I knelt with both hands covering my face in order to remain private and to shut out any distraction.
In prayer I asked Jesus to please cover me with His most precious blood then prayed, Speak Lord, (If it be Your will, always), Your servant listens. Jesus responded to my prayer saying, My child Eileen, let it be known that each time one of My children makes a sincere confession during the sacrament of Penance, followed by receiving Holy Communion offered up for the souls in Purgatory, I will forgive and release one soul into heaven. That soul will then pray for you. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen.

When I approached the confessional and started my confession, the priest interrupted me and started telling me about the great mercy of God, and he spoke more forcefully about it than I had ever heard anyone speak before. And he asked me, "Do you know that the mercy of the Lord is greater than all His works, that it is the crown of His works?" And I listened attentively to these words which the Lord was speaking through the mouth of the priest. Although I did not reveal anything of the divine life that is in my soul and only accused myself of my offenses, the priest himself told me very much of what was in my soul and put me under obligation to be faithful to the inspirations of God. Jan 26 - MAKE A COMMITMENT
Today Our Lady asks for our commitment so that her plans in Medjugorje will succeed:
Dear children, I would like this to be a time of decision for you. Make a commitment to follow me, follow me! I wish to do so much, but I cannot do anything without you; your resolve is too weak.
So pray during this time, dear children. Only through prayer can you receive the strength of commitment that you need. I am here to help you, my children (Visionary Prayer Group August 19, 1988).
In Mark's gospel, Jesus also asks for a decision:
As Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the sea for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, "Follow me and I will make you fish for people." And immediately they left their nets and followed him (Mk 1 :16-18).
Reflection:
Discipleship, or commitment, is foundational to our Christian faith; both Mary in her messages and Jesus in the gospels, speak of the necessity of deciding completely for God.
And this decision, which we are asked to renew periodically in prayer, surfaces naturally from the grace of God in our hearts. "Happy are they", writes Dietrich Bonhoeffer, "who know that discipleship simply means the life that springs from grace, and that grace simply means discipleship."
Application:
In prayer today, ask Christ and the Blessed Mother to strengthen your commitment if following them with enthusiasm and courage.

Accordingly, primary emphasis has been given to the accumulation of few archived messages at the era-of-peace web site, as opposed to many individual emailed messages to members. Our intention is to build a relatively small base of messages, to facilitate the painting of the "big" picture as eschatology is realized daily. As new members join, especially during the foretold confusion associated with the Warning, they will see for themselves the foretold events materializing together with supporting evidence.
