“Accept these gifts with all your heart”

Reading: Matthew 26:26-30

Dear friends,

“He took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them saying, ‘This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me. And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.’ Luke 22:19-20

Today is Holy Thursday and I will be at the church this evening for Holy Mass. Tomorrow I will go to St. Philip and St. James Church, Egmont Bay, P.E.I., for the rest of Holy Week. I wish you all a Blessed Easter and may the Lord be with you all during the Paschal Triduum.

I spent a half-hour this morning with Jesus, our Suffering Lord, who said, “Melvin, My brother and sharer in My priesthood, I love you and bless you. My love goes out to all the priests of the world on this feast day of the priesthood and I bless with much love all My brothers and sisters throughout the world.

It was on the first Holy Thursday that I instituted the Holy Eucharist and made the eleven Apostles priests. We were gathered in the Upper Room in Jerusalem to have a meal to celebrate the Passover of the Jews. It was at this meal that I took bread and said the words, ‘Take this, all of you, and eat it: this is my body which will be given up for you.’ At the end of the meal I took a cup and gave thanks and praise. I gave the cup to the Apostles and said, ‘Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for many so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.’

In saying these words, ‘Do this in memory of me’ I made all the Apostles priests so they could celebrate the Holy Eucharist the way I did. Today there are many priests spread all over the world who are celebrating the Holy Eucharist every day. I bless all the priests on this important day and I call them all to follow Me. They act in My name as they bring Me to all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me. My great gift to you today is the Eucharist where I am truly present and the second gift is the priesthood. Accept these gifts with all your heart. I love and bless you all.”

Jesus Shows Us His Cross

Today I spent an hour alone with Jesus and devoted a rosary to the Spiritual comfort of Our Lady Of Sorrows (my parish) who has diabetes and blocked arteries and was given 8 months to live, he is 58 and raising two grandchildren and attends Mass everyday!

In sorrow I knelt and prayed asking Jesus to cover me with His most precious blood. Then I asked, Jesus if it be Your will, please speak for Your servant listens.

Jesus showed me a Blue Cross that covered the entirety of the sky. All of the edges and corners of the Cross were of a very deep and dark blue and there were people holding on to the cross while attempting to climb the length of this massive Cross to reach the top. As they did this, those who succeeded were able to leave the very dark blue of the edges and corners of the Cross and walk into the very pal blue of the sky and ascend into the heavens!

My Interpretation: Jesus provided me with the discernment that each of us must bear our own cross with Christ and move beyond our suffering into the Light where He will await us!

Let me address you as brother this time for did I not say that my brothers and sisters are those who do the will of the Father? Your willingness and availability to give your time, energy and strength just to hear my words melts my heart that if ever I had already bid you goodbye so as to allow you the freedom to do your other preoccupations, yet I cannot ignore the offering of your self and your earnestness to get into communion with me once more thru the hearing of my words in your inner being. I am without any reservation verily pleased at your desire to meet me once more.

At this time that the church commemorates my passion on the cross, I wish also to give my blessings to all who participate in this sacred celebration. I acknowledge all who pay the due respect and veneration accorded to my sacrificial death on the cross. Tell them these words that they may know that their time and effort devoted for my sake are never forgotten.

MARCH 23 - RENOUNCE THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE HURTING YOU

During Lent of 1990 Our Lady spoke of attachments:

"Dear Children, I invite you to surrender to God. In this season of Lent, I ask you to especially renounce those things to which your are attached but which are hurting you and your spiritual life. Therefore, little children, decide completely for God, and do not allow Satan into your life through those things that hurt both you and your spiritual life.

Little Children, God is offering himself totally to you, but you can discover and recognize him only in prayer. Therefore, make a decision for prayer! (Monthly Message Feb. 25, 1990).

St. Paul also warns of worldly attachments:

Brothers and sisters, join in imitating me, and observe those who live according to the example you have in us. For many live as enemies of the cross of Christ; I have often told you of them, and now I tell you even with tears. Their end is destruction; their god is the belly; and their glory is in their shame; their minds are set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ (Phil 3:17-20).

Reflection:

St. Paul criticizes the self-indulgent Christians of his day, for although they claim allegiance to Christ, they ignore his model of servanthood and sacrifice.

They seem to satisfy their own desires even before thinking about the needs of others; to their detriment, they are "set upon the things of this world."

Our Lady of Medjugorje points to the same danger:«I ask you to especially renounce," she says, "those things to which you are attached, but which are hurting you and your spiritual life."

Application:

Today, take the time to identify those attachments or addictions that hurt your spiritually. They could include alcohol, drugs, shopping, television, status seeking, power games, manipulation of others, and materialism in many forms. After you identify your own harmful attachments, isolate one and consciously work on moderating or even eliminating it for one week. At the same time, pray to the Blessed Mother for the special grace you will need; she will generously provide it.

Mar 22 - I HAVE BEEN APPEALING FOR RENEWAL

The Madonna is firm in her call to Lenten renewal and prayer :

" Dear Children, day after day I have been appealing to you for renewal and prayer in the parish, but you are not responding. Today I am calling you for the last time. This is the season of Lent, and you as a parish should out of love, be moved to live my messages. If you do not, I do not wish to continue giving them. God is permitting me that. Thank you for responding to my call." Weekly Message Feb. 21, 1985

Psalm 38 is a repentant call to God :

For I am ready to fall, And my pain is ever with me. I confess my iniquity; I am sorry for my sin.

Those who are my foes without cause are mighty. And many are those who hate me wrongfully.

Those who render me evil for good Are my adversaries because I follow after good. Do not forsake me, O Lord; O my God, do not be far from me; Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation. ---Psalm 38 ;17-22

Reflection :

Both Our Lady and the psalmist today call us to repentance, to acknowledge our sin, neglect, or indifference in the sight of God.

Because we have a tendency to sin or to be spiritually lethargic, repentance is the true measure of spiritual sensitivity. It means asking the Lord to forgive us and then abandoning our sinful or lethargic ways. But we cannot do this sincerely unless we are truly sorry for our misdeeds and then commit ourselves to positive action.

This is the Virgin's wish today, that we take to heart her call to renewal and prayer. It is a serious matter for all of us.

Application :

Review your spiritual life today. Has Lent been a time of prayer and renewal for you? If not, make a fresh start today.

Chapter 7

Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

Son of man, now say: Thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land!

Now the end is upon you; I will unleash my anger against you and judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.

4

I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will bring your conduct down upon you, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that I am the LORD.

Thus says the Lord GOD: Disaster upon disaster! See it coming!

An end is coming, the end is coming upon you! See it coming!

The climax has come for you who dwell in the land! The time has come, near is the day: a time of consternation, not of rejoicing.

Soon now I will pour out my fury upon you and spend my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.

3 I will turn away my face from them, and my treasure shall be profaned: robbers shall enter and profane it.

They shall wreak slaughter, for the land is filled with bloodshed and the city full of violence.

I will bring in the worst of the nations, who shall take possession of their houses. I will put an end to their proud strength, and their sanctuaries shall be profaned.

When anguish comes they shall seek peace, but there will be none.

There shall be disaster after disaster, rumor after rumor. Prophetic vision shall fade; instruction shall be lacking to the priest, and counsel to the elders,

while the prince shall be enveloped in terror, and the hands of the common people shall tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and according to their judgments I will judge them; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
