Prophecy Meditations
Topic: Prophecy Meditation

Update: The Church's Position on Mother Maryam's (Our Lady of Garabandal) position.

From Era of peace website (see below, Fair Use 17 U.S.C. for those inthe African Diaspora who would not be exposed to such).

For sometime, certain erroneous information has circulated the Internet claiming that the Church has ruled against the mystical occurrences in Garabandal, Spain which occurred during the 1960's.

Satan never sleeps.

A few years ago we published a piece to the group entitled (#218) Garabandal: The Church's Position. Therein we explained that the mystical occurrences at Garabandal have yet-to-be-approved by the Church as worthy of belief, meaning that they remain in the neutral category --- neither approved nor disapproved.

Recently in a personal letter to Mr. Edward Kelly, Archbishop Carlos Osoro Sierra not only reinforced the fact that Garabandal remains in the yet-to-be-approved category, but encouraged the Faithful to continue maintaining devotion to Our Lady of Garabandal. An image of the letter, written in Spanish on the Archbishop's official stationery and signed by him together with an English translation, was published in the Special Edition of Garabandal Journal (1) (received January, 2008). The entire English transcript is presented below for your discernment.

Response From the Archbishop of Oviedo, Carlos Osoro Sierra, Current Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Santander, to Edward Kelly of the United States Who Wrote to Him Regarding the Apparitions of Garabandal

May 7, 2007

Dear Edward,

Acknowledging receipt of your kind letter presenting to me your assessment of the events at Garabandal, I want you to know that I am open to all information and to every consideration about Garabandal, and I want to continue in this manner, as long as the Holy Father sees fit for me to be Apostolic Administrator, what my brothers in the episcopacy have done regarding the subject in question. What I have done now is authorize priests to go to Garabandal and celebrate Mass there at whatever hour they desire, and to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to as many people who desire it there.

I am sure that the next bishop will advance the studies of the Garabandal events so they may be examined more deeply with the results being sent to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome.

I respect the apparitions and have known of authentic conversions. In light of these events, how can we not always feel the need to open our heart to our mother Mary to tell her that we need her protection, help, spirit, desire, faith, hope and love! I encourage you to continue maintaining this devotion to our Mother.

If your are interested in speaking with me, don't hesitate to ask for an audience at the Santander bishopric through the Vicar General. There they can take down all your information and set the date and hour for the visit.

Hoping to count on your continued prayers and cooperation, I extend to you my most cordial greeting and give you my blessing.

/s/Carlos, Archbishop of Oviedo
Apostolic Administrator of Santander

NOTE: We respectfully recognize and accept the final authority regarding apparitions, locutions and prophecies presently being reported around the world rests with the Holy See of Rome and the Magisterium of Holy Mother Church to whose judgment we humbly and obediently submit.

The web site, era-of-peace, together with its mother web site,

have been designed to serve a very unique purpose. As discussed in greater detail on the home page of era-of-peace, it is used in conjunction with its mother site to assist and guide all of God's children through the Great Tribulation of the book of Revelation.

Accordingly, primary emphasis has been given to the accumulation of few archived messages at the era-of-peace web site, as opposed to many individual emailed messages to members. Our intention is to build a relatively small base of messages, to facilitate the painting of the "big" picture as eschatology is realized daily. As new members join, especially during the foretold confusion associated with the Warning, they will see for themselves the foretold events materializing together with supporting evidence.

We invite you to visit the collection of archived messages, files and links to view the picture that is being developed. The archived messages, files and links can be found in the respective sections of :

Winter of 2007-08: Winds, Rain, Tornadoes & Record Snow

As Predicted

John Leary (1)

November 12, 2007:
Jesus said: "My people, the weather this winter will have some unusual high winds that could cause snow and ice which could result in poor visibility and many accidents. This vision of a truck turned over is an example of the accidents that could occur. People in cars or large trucks will have to be wary of the weather reports before they proceed. Keep some holy water and blessed sacramentals in your vehicles for safety in your travel. When you are traveling to do missions or talks, you will need more spiritual protection against the evil ones who may try to thwart you in your work. Pray for My protection at the start of every trip, and place holy water around in your vehicle. Give thanks to Me and your guardian angel every time you return from your travels unharmed. "

November 15, 2007:
Jesus said: "My people, some areas will be seeing heavy rains, enough to cause flood warnings into the winter time. This vision of overflowing rivers is a strong suggestion for these warnings. Even as some experience flooding, others will continue to see droughts with possible fires continuing. This again is nature's reflection of mankind where some are cold in their hearts to Me, while a few are on fire with My love. It is the mission of My strong faithful to try and lead the lukewarm back to their former fervor of faith, and reach out to convert those who have never loved Me. Wake up those who are spiritually asleep because there are many signs of the Antichrist coming before I return. Today's Gospel is warning you also about the false christs who will come to try and deceive you that it is I, but do not follow them. Be always ready, for you do not know the day, nor the hour of My return."

December 3, 2007:
Jesus said: "My people, you are now moving into winter with another set of disasters that could cause trouble in the safety of your car travel and cause power outages. Already you are seeing considerable high wind events along the Pacific coast, even as I told you windy events will become more common this winter. You need to have warm clothing, some food and holy water or blessed salt in your cars in case your car quits or has an accident. In your homes you need back up fuels for heating as wood, kerosene, or propane to provide heat and a means of cooking if you should lose power in a snow storm. Just as you stay prepared for your physical survival, you also need to be prepared for your spiritual survival against sin. Frequent Confession is the best means to keep your soul pure and ready for the day of your death and judgment. You can also pray an Act of Contrition when you go to bed, or if you feel death is imminent. If you should die overnight, then you have asked to be forgiven, and you may not have time for Confession. Being prepared for winter, and for your death, are very practical ways for the survival of both your body and your soul."

December 5, 2007:
Jesus said: "My people, you have been witnessing some severe winter weather already with some areas receiving record windds and above average snowfalls or rainfalls. Even your weather maps have been showing huge storms and erratic jet stream flows causing colder weather than normal. You may or may not be aware of the HAARP (2) weather making machine that uses extremely powerful microwaves to control and change the jet streams to cause this bad weather. This maker of bad weather and the chemtrails (3) causing flu epidemics, are all part of the one world plan to cause disruption and create emergency situations for their control of people. Many of your extreme weather events are due to the use of such machines. This is just an added insight to how evil these people can be just to manipulate your government and the death culture that they promote. The evil ones will have a brief reign, but they will soon face My judgment for their evil deeds. Call on My help and My angels to protect you, and use your Hawthorn pills or tea, herbs, and vitamins to protect yourselves from these man-made viruses."

January 10, 2008:
Jesus said: "My people, you have just witnessed hurricane speed winds and several tornadoes in an unusual time of the year. Many power outages and some deaths have resulted, and you are still picking up the debris of tree limbs and house parts. I have told you to expect more winds, disasters, and power outages, and they are coming as I foretold. Be prepared with extra fuel and food that I will multiply if it is needed. By preparing as I have warned you, you will be like the five wise virgins instead of the five foolish virgins who had no oil for their lamps."

January 15, 2008:
Jesus said: "My people, this year you will again see some natural disasters, and the amount of snowfalls will be near record amounts in some areas. This vision of a significant snow blizzard is the kind of weather that will be prevalent this winter. This is another reason that I warned you to be prepared for some power outages by having extra alternate fuels, and some extra food if you cannot get to the stores or they are shut down. These recurrent weather problems may also cause you some problems in getting to your speaking commitments. Pray for safe travel and use your holy water and blessed salt for traveling by car or by airplane. You are also seeing in your media that the one world people are trying to force microchips into your driver's licenses for tracking purposes. Providing security identification will also cause you problems in your travels, especially on airplanes and at the borders. Many people are starting to see your privacy invaded more and more by government controls and regulations."

End of messages

As predicted by Our Lord via John Leary, excessive winds and tornadoes, as well as floods and record snowfall were experienced in many parts of the world during the winter of 2007-2008.

The rate of occurrence of tornadoes in the USA for the first two months of 2008 increased by 300% in January 2008, and increased by over 800% in February 2008, over the respective monthly averages for the preceding three years. Tornadoes Were Unusual For Intensity

January 8, 2008
JOURNAL TIMES - Kenosha County -- The tornadoes that roared through parts of the county Monday were unusual not just for the time of year, but also for their intensity.

National Weather Service survey crews looking at the aftermath Tuesday preliminarily rated the tornadoes that struck the Wheatland area at EF3s on the Enhanced Fujita scale. Weather Service Meteorologist Bob McMahon said the teams estimated wind speeds at 140-150 mph.---

Weather experts also estimated, based on damage, the size of the funnels that ripped through Wheatland in western Kenosha County. They estimated the width at ground level was about 200 yards.

In contrast, McMahon said the average tornado in Wisconsin is only an EF0 to EF1. "Those damage paths can be just 10 yards wide," he said.---"

USATODAY - "--- Many New England resorts logged record or near-record snowfalls in December, a sharp contrast to last season, when significant snow didn't arrive until mid-February, says Mike Doyle, skiing guide for About.com.

Along the West Coast, skiers, snowboarders and other winter-sports enthusiasts are cheering what has been dubbed the "Storm of the Century," a series of three Pacific blasts that pummeled mountain resorts from British Columbia to Southern California last weekend.

In Northern California's Sierra Nevada, the storm system dumped up to 11 feet of white stuff at the ski resorts ringing Lake Tahoe, with a fourth storm delivering more than a foot this week. ---"

"It's extremely cold - even for North Dakota," said Lt. Mike Gerhart of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. "If you get caught in that type of situation and you're not prepared, it can be fatal."

At least four weather stations in the state reported 55 below zero wind chills Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.---"

Winter Storms Hit Much of Country with Wind, Snow and Hail

January 29, 2008
FOXNEWS - Denver -- A powerful storm system pounded a large swath of the nation Tuesday, spawning everything from heavy snow and numbing cold to thunderstorms and possible tornadoes, and forecasters warned more bad weather was on the way.

High winds associated with thunderstorms may have killed two people in Indiana, authorities said. Snow forced the closure of schools and highways in many areas, and avalanche warnings were issued for some Western mountainous regions.---"

About 3 feet of snow has fallen in the area since Sunday morning, said Kyle Fredin of the National Weather Service. Snow began to taper off Tuesday, but up to a foot more was expected before the weekend, Fredin said.---"

"It's very unusual," said Doug Abromeit, director of the U.S. Forest Service's National Avalanche Center in Ketchum, Idaho. "Typically the storm is not this widespread."

Those storms were followed Tuesday by a third that threatened up to 20 inches of snow in Idaho's mountains into Wednesday, said Jay Breidenbach of the Weather Service office in Boise.

A fourth storm was on the way. "By Thursday, the next storm will be right on our doorstep. This is quite a storm system," Breidenbach said.--- "

The cold air and wind gusts as high as 70 mph headed into the Midwest, where fog created problems for air travel Tuesday in Chicago. About 200 flights had been canceled by afternoon at O'Hare International Airport, said Chicago Department of Aviation spokesman Karen Pride.--- "

The National Weather Service reported an unconfirmed tornado touchdown near Okawville, Ill. A corner of the roof peeled off at Nashville Community High School in Illinois, but no injuries were reported.

In Cape Girardeau County, Mo., winds as high as 70 mph and dime-size hail were reported Tuesday. Two unconfirmed funnel clouds were reported, said Dick Knaup, the county's emergency management director.--- "

Severe Storms Race Across Indiana (Tornadoes)

January 30, 2008
USATODAY - Poseyville, Indiana --- "--- The National Weather Service said a tornado flipped the mobile home the night before near Poseyville, a rural area in southwestern Indiana. Kathryn Mason, 83, and her daughter, Donna Fay Zoph, 57, were among four killed in quick-moving but fierce storms that raced across Indiana, packing wind gusts up to 80 mph.

A second tornado ripped a portion of the roof off an apartment complex on the west side of Indianapolis, said meteorologist Dave Tucek. A weather service team determined damage a little further west in Avon was done by straight line winds estimated up to 100 mph.--- "

Frigid Winds Whip into the Northeast

January 31, 2008
USATODAY - Buffalo -- Lake Erie surged over its eastern shore Wednesday, adding flooding to the headaches delivered by a windy storm that tipped tractor-trailers, disrupted flights, and toppled trees and power lines across a wide swath of the nation.---"

High winds were suspected of collapsing a scaffold at a Brooklyn building that killed a construction worker and seriously injured another Wednesday morning.

In northern Ohio, a train traveling in high winds derailed on a bridge over Sandusky Bay around 4 a.m., sending about 10 freight cars into the water, said Ottawa County Sheriff Robert Bratton. No injuries were reported.---"

The National Weather Service in Buffalo reported sustained winds of 40 to 50 mph, with a gust of 68 mph. Gusts of 46 mph were reported at LaGuardia Airport and close to 50 mph at Kennedy Airport.---"

As the sometimes unpredictable storm barreled eastward Tuesday, tornadoes or reports of tornadoes surfaced in several communities.

A twister hopscotched through Louisville, on Tuesday night, tearing the roofs from several buildings and toppling trees and power lines. Joe Sullivan, a National Weather Service meteorologist, said tornadoes touched down three times in the metro area.

In Indiana, severe thunderstorms packing wind gusts of 80 mph killed three people in mobile homes and a fourth who died in a car crash, authorities said. Firefighters pulled the bodies of an elderly woman and her daughter from a mobile home flipped over by the wind Tuesday night near Poseyville in southwestern Indiana.---"

Wild Weather Battered USA in January

January 31, 2008
USATODAY - Washington --- Rare winter tornadoes in the Midwest. Powerful Pacific storms with hurricane force winds. More than 1,000 daily high temperature records. And that's just in the first month of 2008.---"

"We're seeing an increasing trend in the frequency of extremes," said Karin Gleason, a meteorologist who compiles the U.S. Climate Extremes Index maintained by the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C.---"

"It certainly seems like something ominous is going on when you experience these extremes," said Gregory Berg, an assistant professor of music at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.

On Jan. 7, Berg photographed a tornado as it formed less than two miles from campus. His snapshot of the wispy twister appears on the National Weather Service website as part of the agency's report on the event.

"When you see something so unexpected, you feel like you're seeing a unicorn or something," said Berg, who also hosts "The Morning Show" on the local National Public Radio affiliate.

Among the most extreme of all weather events are tornadoes, violent columns of rotating air that have cut a long and tragic path of death and destruction through U.S. history.

Tornadoes raked northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin in early January, a rare event in midwinter.---"

Record Rains Slam Hawaii, Force Evacuations
'Life-threatening situation' in Hilo as 11 inches fall in a single day

February 4, 2008
MSNBC - Honolulu --- All of Hawaii remained under a flash-flood warning Monday after record rainfall as heavy as 11 inches in 24 hours slammed the island chain, closing schools, damaging dozens of homes and holding out the threat of mandatory evacuations.

The National Weather Service said a "high alert status" was in effect for Hilo on the Big Island, the state's second-largest city, where 10.82 inches of rain was recorded Sunday, breaking the 24-hour record by almost three and one half inches.

"The situation in Hilo is critical and a life-threatening situation now," said Harry Kim, mayor of the Big Island, which is also called Hawaii. As many as 150 homes had been damaged by floodwaters rising as high as 4 feet, he said. ---"

Despite Warnings, Tornadoes Kill 54

February 6, 2008
YAHOO - Lafayette, Tennessee --- "--- At least 54 people were killed and hundreds injured Tuesday and Wednesday by dozens of tornadoes that plowed across Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. It was the nation's deadliest barrage of twisters in almost 23 years.---"

Most communities had ample warning that the storms were coming. Forecasters had warned for days severe weather was possible. The National Weather Service issued more than 1,000 tornado warnings from 3 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 11-state area where the weather was heading.

The conditions for bad weather had lined up so perfectly that the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., put out an alert six days in advances.--- "

While the weather was unusually severe, winter tornadoes are not uncommon. The peak tornado season is late winter through midsummer, but the storms can happen at any time of the year with the right conditions.---"

There were 67 eyewitness accounts of tornadoes, but some of those were probably twisters that were counted more than once, said Greg Carbin, the warning coordination meteorologist at the Oklahoma center. The actual number is probably more like 30 or 40, he said.

Thirty people were killed in Tennessee, 13 in Arkansas, seven in Kentucky and four in Alabama, emergency officials said. It was one of the 15 worst tornado death tolls since 1950, and the nation's deadliest barrage of tornadoes since 76 people were killed in Pennsylvania and Ohio in May 31, 1985.---"

Record Snowfalls Mean Big Meltdown

March 6, 2008
USATODAY -- "For snow-weary residents of the Midwest and New England, spring can't come soon enough.

Locations such as Madison, Wis., and Concord, N.H., endured their snowiest winter since records began, and parts of the western USA also saw a much snowier-than-average winter, according to NOAA's National Climatic Data Center.

The U.S. winter of 2007-08 - which meteorologists classify as the months of December, January and February - will go down as the coldest since the winter of 2000-01, with a national average temperature of 33.2 degrees, NOAA reported Thursday. Yet, despite the chill, the winter was still slightly warmer than the 20th-century average of 33.0 degrees.

However, it's the snowfall that may be the most memorable element of this winter.

"We had 13 inches of snow on Feb. 1 alone," said Springfield, Ill., resident Julie Becker. "We haven't had 13 inches of snow in years."

In Madison, the 88.3 inches of wintertime snow shattered the all-time record of 76.1 inches, set in the winter of 1978-79, according to the National Weather Service.

Concord recorded 100.1 inches of snow this season, stressing roofs and frazzling drivers' nerves. Before that, the record had been 78 inches, set during the winter of 1886-87, according to the weather service. ---

---Three straight months of above-average snowfall will benefit residents of Arizona, California, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas, Utah and Wyoming because runoff from the Colorado mountains feeds rivers that run through those states.---"
