OUR LADY OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT - MAY 13
The title of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament was first given to Mary
by St. Peter Julian Eymard in May 1868, while speaking to his
novices. A few years later he described what her statue should look
like: "The Blessed Virgin holds the Infant in her arms; and He holds
a chalice in one hand and a Host in the other."
He exhorted them to invoke Mary: "Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament,
pray for us who have recourse to thee!"
Later, Pius IX enriched the invocation with indulgences. Twice, St.
Pius X did the same. On December 30, 1905, he granted a 300 days
indulgence to the faithful who pray: to Our Lady of the Most Blessed
Sacrament, pray for us."This title, Our Lady of the Blessed
Sacrament, is perhaps the most meaningful of all," said St. Pius X.

Jesus made known to me how very pleasing to Him were prayers of atonement. He said to me, The prayer of a humble and loving soul disarms the anger of My Father and draws down an ocean of blessings. After the adoration, half way to my cell, I was surrounded by a pack of huge black dogs who were jumping and howling and trying to tear me to pieces. I realized that they were not dogs, but demons. One of them spoke up in a rage, "Because you have snatched so many souls away from us this night, we will tear you to pieces." May 13 - CARRY PEACE TO OTHERS
Today Our Lady gives a message of peace:
O children! I want you to live each new day with love and peace. I wish that you carry peace and love to others. People need these graces of love and peace so much, yet they lose them because they do not pray. Create a permanent prayer in your hearts, for only then can you become vessels of the Lord. Through prayer your Father will mold you into the vessels he desires. Abandon yourself to him so that he can do this (Locutionists Jelena & Mirajana July 11, 1987).
In his first letter, Peter also speaks of peace:
Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a peaceful blessing. It is for this that you were called-that you might inherit a blessing (1 Pt 3: 8-89).
Reflection:
The Blessed Virgin has often said in Medjugorje that peace must begin within the individual heart and spread outward from there. This is the message of a little story about a father who came home from work hoping to find some rest and quiet. But his young daughter kept pestering him. To keep her quiet, he cut out a map of the world from a newspaper and cut it up into pieces of different sizes. He then told her that he would give her a bar of chocolate when she had "put the world together." He hoped this would give him an hour of peace.
Five minutes later she came back telling him that the map was finished and was laid out on the floor. The father was surprised and asked, "How did you get it together so quickly?" "That was easy," she said, "I just turned the pieces over, and on the other side, I saw the picture of a man. When the man was put together right, the world was right."
Application:
Today, pray for peace within your own heart, for only than can it spread outward.
