These thoughts for a day are taken from a daily meditation book based on the Messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje by Father Richard J. Beyer, Ave Maria Press.

During Ivanka's apparition on her birthday in 1989, the Blessed Mother said:

Pray, for you are in great danger and temptation; the world and materialism are leading you into slavery. Satan is in the midst of his. I so want to help each of you in prayer. And I am interceding with my Son for you. (Special Message June 25,1989).

In Luke's gospel, Christ also warns us of materialism and possessiveness:

And he said to them, "Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions." The he told them a parable: "The land of a rich man produced abundantly. And he thought to himself, `What should I do, for I have no place to store my crops? Then he said, ` I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones. And there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say. You have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.'

"But God said to him, `You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be? ` So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God" (Lk 12:15-21).

On the triple doorway of the cathedral of Milan, there are three inscriptions spanning the towering arches. Over one is carved a beautiful wreath of roses, and underneath is the inscription, "All that pleases is but for a moment." Over the other is sculptured a cross, and these are the words beneath:

"All that troubles is but for a moment." But underneath the great central entrance in the main aisle is the legend, "That only is important which is eternal."

This is the heart of Our Lady's message today, She urges us to focus our lives on what is truly important, and not on the material, which passes away.

It is the gospel message reworded:

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Lk 12:22, 33-34).

Today, think of your most precious possessions; how much of your time do they occupy? Do your priorities need rearranging?

L. began to receive a message from God and said, "Jesus, please cover me with Your Most Precious Blood."


Then Jesus spoke, "A great luminous Cross will soon appear in the sky! For some IT will be a Sign of joy while to others IT will bring much fear and even dread.

IT is a Sign that I am near, I am watching over all, I am with you, I will conquer. Rejoice when you see My Holy Cross. Pray for My many Graces and My Mercy to fill your spirit, to comfort you, to strengthen you in the dreadful times that lie ahead.

Today, now is the hour to settle your debts with God! This is the moment of Great Mercy. Accept IT! Use IT! Take IT into your heart!

Behold I am with you but a little while longer. Satan and all evil spirits are loosed to tempt all souls to test your true love, trust and faith in Me. Fear not but rejoice for I AM NEAR! I will NEVER leave My own!

This hour is VERY near dear ones. Offer Me your all! Live only for Me! Adore only Me! I have given you My All and I continually give My All to My little faithful, loving, forgiving, repentant remnant. I love you! I await your return to Our Father's House- - -Heaven eternally.

Look to the sky! This Sign will be seen by all! IT will NEVER fade away but remain so that all may see IT!

Amen, I call to ALL My children! Amen, I love ALL My children!"

FEAST DAY OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA
MAY 13, 2008 AT 10:45 P.M.

Anna Marie: My Lady, thank you for coming this night on your holy Feast Day, as you told me earlier today.
Thank you sweet Mother. My Lady, may I ask please, will you bow down and adore your holy Son Jesus of Nazareth,
who suffered and died on the cross for my sins and the sins of the entire world? Then descended to the
dead and after three days arose and ascended into heaven where He now sits at His Father?s right hand side?

Mother Mary: My little one, I your Heavenly Mother, Mary, will now and always bow down and adore my holy and beloved Son Jesus who is the Father?s only-begotten Son. Who did die on the cross, descended to the dead, arose and then ascended into heaven where my son now sits at His Father?s right hand side to judge the living and the dead.

Anna Marie: Yes my Lady, please speak for your sinful servant is listening.

Mother Mary: Now little one, please take down my words as I speak them to you slowly and clearly.

Anna Marie: Yes Mother.

Mother Mary: There is a great sorrow that will befall your nation in a few short months. I am requesting all members of this Apostolate to begin praying hard and earnestly to your Heavenly Father for the mitigation of yet another attack against this great nation.

Anna Marie: Yes Mother.

Mother Mary: If prayers for mitigation do not begin quickly, then you will see mother?s crying in your streets.

Anna Marie: Yes Mother.

Mother Mary: My beloved ones, so many times I have come to this Apostolate in honor of my Immaculate Heart through the sacramental, green scapular. You are my beloved and chosen ones, I keep you and those you have given to me through the simple consecration of writing names on these blessed sacramentals. I have watched over and guarded your family members and friends. I have brought a conversion of heart to them all and even in your own lives, I have brought you into a deeper love relationship with my holy Son, Jesus, your Savior and mine. Yet now, I truly require your full attention to my call for your prayers.

Mother Mary: Great is the hate towards this Christian nation. Great also are the plots being conceived to bring destruction and terror into your cities. I plead with you, my beloved children, to begin praying more, praying with your families and your friends so that my children can plead to the Seat of Mercy and implore my Son?s protection against this great design of evil which plans to destroy what my Son has blessed.

Anna Marie: Yes Mother.

Mother Mary: My children, the time is now approaching when your daily lives will be interrupted with sorrows. I do not wish this to be so, but instead I plead for your gifts of prayers. If you, my children, only knew the true value of a Rosary being recited before my Son in Adoration, you would be content to do so daily. I ask all my children this, that when you receive my Son in Holy Communion, return to your seats and kneel before your King.

Thank my Son for His death and resurrection on the cross and ask Him to speak to you, to guide you, to bless you and your family. Ask my Son to forgive your short comings and to allow the Holy Spirit to renew your love for your Father in heaven. The offer your holy Eucharist, my Sons? body and Blood, to your Heavenly Father for the conversion of all sinners and the protection of your nation.

Mother Mary: My beloved children, pray now while there is still time to stop the plots of those who plan to harm this nation and other countries around the globe.

Anna Marie: Yes Mother. Thank you Mother.

Mother Mary: Go now daughter, you have much to do.
