Mark..Khemetian, born in Africa. Tradition holds that originally, Peter and Mark set out on evangelization mission. But one night, Peter dreamed he had go with Mark, to Rome and then to Alexandria, Kemet. Mark preached in Rome, and then returned to Kemet. His efforts drew many to Christ. He finally landed in Alexandria. Another tradition by Eusebius, accords Mark the first bishop of Alexandria. As he entered the city gates, a sandal rap broke. A shoemaker was chosen to fix the leather—Anianus. He became Mark’s first disciple and convert to Yeshua, Jesus the Christ in Alexandria. Enemies, however, sought out Mark. The writer of the Gospel of Mark after sufficient teaching, appointed Anianus bishop, and ordained three priests and seven deacons. Leaving the city, he told them to "serve and comfort the faithful brethren.” After some years, Mark returned. The Christian community had grown considerably. But his enemies had not forgotten him. They jailed him. On the following morning, Mark’s neck was tied with a rope. The malefactors dragged him by the neck from Alexandria up to the little port of Bucoles until he died. They attempted to burn the body. The flames would not touch it. Christians in the community claimed the remains, burying it in a Church Mark had founded. It is said he is the first Christian martyr of the Church in Kemet. He is credited with writing one of the four Christian canonical gospels, or at least his name and influence is attached to it. Severus, Bishop of Al-Ushmunain, in late tenth century in his Life of Apostle and Evangelist Mark, said Mark was one of the wine pouring servants that Jesus turned from water at marriage feast of Cana. Severus goes on to say that, Mark’s house was where Jesus appeared to disciples who were hiding after His resurrection dead. Anianus, the shoemaker of the sandal of Mark, became a saint, whose memorial is celebrated under Anianus.

Dear Friends,
“I lift up my eyes toward the mountains; whence shall help come to me?
My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
The Lord is your guardian; the Lord is your shade; he is beside you at your right hand.
The sun shall not harm you by day, nor the moon in the night.” Psalm 121, 1 – 2, 5 – 6
We continue to have perfect weather with the sun shining the whole day and the temperature staying between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. There is no humidity and there is often a nice little wind to keep everything cool. One can sleep very well without putting on the air-conditioner. Today we have the same temperature and the sun is shining.
I had a healing Mass last evening and a good crowd was present from Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and there were some people from New York State and from Montreal. Some had copies of Dom Forker’s new book, “Roses in December.”
This book has plenty of information on Our Heavenly Mother including a chapter on Our Lady of Prince Edward Island. One can get a copy of the book in many of the Catholic bookstores. They are even in our Catholic Bookstore in Charlottetown.
Faith in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist
I continue to refer to the lovely little book of Dr. Bob Rice on the Holy Eucharist. On page 69, he asks this question: “Do you believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Holy Eucharist? Are you reverently discerning the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ? Do you believe that the same power that was with Jesus 2000 years ago is present in the Eucharist today? Do you need a touch from the Lord today? Do you believe that God wants to heal you today?”
Dr. Bob gives us a quotation from 1 John 5, 14 – 15: “…have this confidence in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, we know that what we have asked him for is ours.”
The author asks another question: “Is it God’s will that you be healed? I believe most emphatically that it is God’s will that you be healed and set free from all your sickness and disease.” The third letter of St. John chapter two says, “Beloved, I hope you are prospering in every respect and are in good health, just as your soul is prospering.”
Also Isaiah 53, 5 says, “But he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins. Upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed.”
Let us thank the Lord for the wonderful gift of the Holy Eucharist and let us believe in the Real Presence with all our hearts.

July 5 - I OFFER YOU HAPPINESS
I Offer You Happiness Our Lady speaks of joy today:
Dear children, tonight your Mother joins you in your happiness and joy. I would like to offer you happiness. I would like to give you love, so that you can extend this love to others. I would like to give you peace, so that you can give this peace to others, so you can extend it especially to families where hatred exists.
Dear children, I would like all of you to renew family prayer. I would like you yourselves to encourage others to renew this prayer. Your Mother will help you. (Visonary Prayer Group Message 10-17-88)
In Luke's gospel, Jesus brings great joy to a widow:
When the Lord saw her, he had compassion for her and said to her, "Do not weep." Then he came forward and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, "Young man, I say to you, rise!" The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. (Luke 7:13-15)
Reflection:
The widow's situation was serious. She had lost her husband, and now her only son, her last means of support, was dead. The crowd of mourners would go home, and she would be left penniless and friendless.
She was probably past the age of childbearing and would not marry again. Unless a relative came to her aid, her future was bleak. She would be an easy prey for swindlers, and she would likely be reduced to begging for food. In fact, as Luke repeatedly emphasizes, she was just the kind of person Jesus came to help—and help her he did. Christ has the power to bring hope and even joy out of tragedy.
Application:
Like the widow who's son was raised to life, Our Lady also wishes us to experience deep joy in Christ. Today, pray that you may live the Virgin's messages so as to realize in your life the happiness and peace the world cannot give, but only the Son of God.

Independence Day - July 4, 2008
On our nation?s birthday, we hear the traditional cheers of freedom and peace and patriotism as well as change. However, this year it is especially hard not to be even more aware of war, natural disasters, devastation, economical hardships, foreclosures, corruption, disease, freedom of choice and embryonical stem cell research. Although her words continue to be ignored, year after year, maybe it would be good to try again to place the Our Lady of Emmitsburg's contribution to World Peace in front of all her children!

The Sacred Heart Of Jesus Takes Away The Darkness
Today I spent an hour alone with Jesus in adoration and thanking Him for
His very many blessings. After making small offerings to Jesus and Mary, I prayed for all with special needs and intentions.
On my knees, I prayed; Speak Lord (if it be Your will), Your servant
listens. Jesus responded to my heart and I began to see a darkness with many lights surrounding a hear.
Then I hear His voice saying, My Sacred Heart will be there even for those lost in the darkness if they pray to My Sacred Heart. I love you as I love all My children. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen
Prayer request from littlest of servants
I was asked by "the littlest of servants" to ask you to put out a
prayer request for more prayers this weekend. He said that something is in the works and we can pray to mitigate it or delay it.
