I call you all to open your eyes

 

Reading: Genesis 1:1-31

 

Dear friends,

 

The old year is fast going away and a new one is here. Let it be a year with the Lord.

 

Due to the snowstorm forecast, there might be very few people at the hour of prayer tonight from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. I will spend the time with Our Lord in prayer, asking for His blessing on the New Year. I wish a Blessed and Happy New Year to you all. May the Lord give you good health, His peace, love and joy and all the wonderful graces you need to follow Him in 2008.

 

My time of contemplative prayer this morning was spent with our Heavenly Father who said, Melvin, My son and sharer in the priesthood of My Son Jesus, I love you and bless you. I love you all, My sons and daughters who believe in Me, your Father, and in Jesus, My Son, and your Saviour. I have taken care of you in the year that is ending and I will be with you to provide for your needs, both physical and spiritual, during the New Year 2008. Place all your trust in Me.

 

It is a fact that the faith of many is getting more and more shallow. Many put their trust in their own ability to survive and in their work. They think the only thing they need is money in order to find happiness. Because of their lack of faith, they no longer pray and go to church. They live as practical atheists. They live a life of sin far from Me, filled with pride and caught in one or more of the deadly sins. They need someone to pray for them, as they can no longer ask for My help.

 

These non-believers are living a lie that I do not exist. You who believe know better. I call you all to open your eyes and see all that I have created. Can human beings produce a beautiful sunset, a rainbow, a flower or the sand on the seashore? Where do you think a flowering tree comes from and who produced all the many kinds of birds? Everything in the world was created by Me, your Father, as a gift to you. Just look at the clockwork of the whole universe and marvel at all this creation of Mine. If you have faith, you will know that all this beauty, grace, accuracy and wonder of the universe I created out of love for you. Are you not going to thank Me for all I have done for you? Live the New Year in union with Me, your Father, Jesus, My Son, and the Holy Spirit. I bless you all.

Son, let me say these words through you!

To all my creation, my Fatherly love belongs to you. Your Father, the Father of All Mankind alerts you to the great possibility of widespread turmoil descending into many lands. Earthly resources are strained to their limits which will trigger intense rivalry to take possession of what are still available. Resources that run the civilized world are fast running out with the consequent radical change that will affect peoples' lives everywhere. This is not my own doing. I am merely making known what many people suspect long ago that the inevitable time is near at hand. I am saying these to prepare peoples' minds for them to accept the unfolding reality and thereby adjust to the forthcoming changes, restructure their lives so that in the coming days, they will not lose heart, not be discouraged as if I am ignorant of their plight and cannot hear their cries for mercy. But all of these things must come to pass as they were written, a whole days wage for a loaf of bread.

Jesus: My children who love with me, I have gathered you together so you could
see your presence in me.

Every child in this world must acknowledge that he is in me, Jesus; I have
called you to love, I have asked you to love one another.

Every child on earth, I know his gift of love to God.

Every child on earth who has not given his gift to God, I know him as well.

My children of love, before your eyes you have had Jesus giving himself, taking
all children of the world within himself, bringing unto death all their impure
actions.

All those children are in me; I have not removed a single child who refuses
God's love, and you, you are in me, you are in my presence, you are also with
all the children of the entire world.

I am aware of your gift of love.

I want to teach you, my children, to know those who are in pain, I want to make
you see within yourselves your brothers and your sisters.

You live your life and you also live your life in the presence of your brothers
and your sisters.

You cannot be indifferent to their actions.

You carry within you the children who do good deeds, but you also carry within
you children who do bad deeds, and because of this: you suffer.

You thirst for love, you want to know happiness on earth.

But the time during which I, I ask you to stay with your brothers and your
sisters in suffering has not yet come to an end.

You still have a short amount of time left in order to help your brothers and
your sister who do not know that I dwell within them.

I want to make them discover God's love, God's mercy.

I came to suffer while taking all these children within myself.

You, the children who are aware that Jesus is living, that Jesus still bears
suffering within him, you must learn to give me your brothers who are suffering,
you must also learn to abandon yourselves in me, Jesus, by giving me your human
will.

I want to cover you with my action.

I want to make you discover why you came on earth.

I want to make you discover the true value of your inner life.

My children, look at me, I gave myself, you can see my wounds, they bear every
child on earth: they are in me.

I am the Life, I am in you, you are in me, and because you are in me, you must
become aware that you carry children who are suffering.

Sin is the (cause) of your sufferings, my children.

As I gave myself, I want you to give yourselves.

I want to take your sufferings within myself, I want you to give me the
sufferings of your brothers and of your sisters.

I alone am the Power; I alone have the power to heal you.

These wounds you see on my Body are the marks of your life.

As long as one of you is not completely abandoned in my wounds, allowing me to
eradicate all impurities, I, I shall continue supporting you in your refusals.

My children, I have been crying out since my arrival on earth, I cry out within

you to surrender your lives to me.

When I was on earth, I taught my apostles about abandonment in God.

When I gave myself up to my Father, I was showing through this that you as well
had to give yourselves up in me, Jesus, I who gave myself to my Father.

I said that it was necessary to die in me in order to obtain life, but the
children of this world refuse to give themselves to me, they no longer have
faith in my laws of love, they even deny my coming into this world, they no
longer believe in my eucharistic Presence, consequently, they are denying
themselves the love I have for them.

This is why I have come to speak to each of you, you, my

Father's chosen children, to evangelize my children.

The Holy Spirit will cover you with his power; he is the one who will place
within you the words you must pronounce.

Those words will have to come from me, Jesus, in you.

You will hear them through the power of the Holy Spirit, for such is my Father's
Will, and I accomplish my Father's Will. This is why I have come to ask you, my
children of the Light, to give me your yes like a child.

I know your yes, it belongs to you, it is part of your daily lives, it comes
from your human will.

I, I want more than this: I want you to surrender your lives to me, Jesus.

I want to cover your yes with my yes, for my yes has born you, for my yes is in
your presence; you see it before you, it has imprinted itself upon my Flesh, and
I, who allowed my Heart to be opened, I let you enter into me.

Beloved, you must abandon yourselves in me, Jesus.

A yes that remains only on the outside is a yes of suffering, it is a yes that
must always be nourished with love, it is a yes that must allow itself to be
transformed by my Precious Blood.

There is only Jesus who can turn you into yeses of love, yeses worthy of my
Father.

My children, I want you to enter into me, I want you to come into my Heart, I
want to envelop your yes.

Your yes shall be my yes, it will bear fruits of love for you and for those you
carry within you, for if I carry you within me, I also carry those you carry,
because when you agree to enter into me, into my Heart, you agree to be with
your brothers and your sisters in me, Jesus.

You will form but one with me, for I am the Power.

I want you to give me your human will.

I want you to efface yourselves so that I, I can take up all the room within
you.

I want to purify all your actions.

I want to turn you into children of the Light, as my Mother wants you to be.

My Mother is asking you to pray with your hearts.

Your hearts, my children, are those of your brothers and of your sisters, you
are in them.

When you pray with your heart, you pray with your brothers and your sisters.

I want you to come and place all this in my Heart, for my Mother is the Gate of
Heaven.

You carry Heaven within you: wherever I am is where my Father is, wherever I am
and wherever my Father is, is where the Holy Spirit is.

You are inhabited by the Holy Spirit, you are inhabited by the love of God the
Father, you are inhabited by crucified Jesus.

Do you see that you carry Heaven within you?

You must come with what you are: your sufferings, your illnesses, your fears,
your fears over not being able to be love; I alone shall transform you with what
you are.

If I can do this for you, I can also do this for all those you carry within you.

I am Mercy. I am Love.

I am the same one who allowed himself to be crucified on the Cross.

You carry life within you.

I am the Life, and in me, you shall be eternal.

My children of love, I am speaking to you like this because soon you will see
Jesus within yourselves.

You will be in the very presence of glorified Jesus.

You will be enveloped in my love.

You will see every one of your actions.

Whether they are good or bad, you will see all you have done on earth, and you
will also see all you have produced within yourselves: nothing will be hidden
from you.

All will be happiness and joy for those who behaved well, and for those who
behaved badly, I will envelop them in my love so they do not suffer too greatly,
as some of my children will want to die for their pain will be so intense!

I, I will protect them from themselves.

This is why you, my children of the Light, I ask you to pray for your brothers,
for your sisters.

When you pray, you pray in me, Jesus, you become a presence within my children
who do not pray, and the graces that Jesus gives you will be beneficial to those
children.

You see, I give to each of you so that you too may learn to give.

Just as I gave myself up on the Cross, I want you to give yourselves up on your
cross, for when you live in this world where there is evil, you carry sufferings
within yourselves.

You are being hurt, you suffer, but because you pray to me, I, I give you graces
and your sufferings become your consolation, for I cover you with my love.

How many of my children have suffered with joy in their hearts!

They could not understand why they were happy even as they were suffering.

This could not have been because of their jovial nature, this came from me, Jesus.

I was giving them graces of love for themselves, and these children were experiencing peace.

They were not living in suffering, in fear, they felt that there was something good inside themselves.

They could not explain this as it was inside them, it was not external.

Today, the children who suffer and who do not come to me seek comfort.

They will take medication, they turn to doctors who might bring them external comfort.

This might relieve their sufferings but this does not give them the joy of offering themselves on behalf of those they love.

Do you see how God wants to make you discover love for your neighbour?  You know children around you who have performed these deeds of love.

Some of you are living this because I nourish you with my Life: my Life that is, that was and ever shall be.

You came into this world to journey towards my Father.

In this world, you have known sins, sins that have led you to illness, old age, and through me you were able to find within yourselves the consolation that was helping you to go forward, for you knew this was going to be your deliverance:
you were going to leave your body to go to my Father.

My children, I came into this world: I lived among you, I have seen your sufferings, I have seen your illnesses: I have healed, I have nursed, I have comforted, I have spoken to you about my Father; I told you that you were going
to know happiness but because of sins, I had to suffer, I had to carry my Cross, your cross in my Cross.

I led you to your path in life while carrying your life upon my shoulders, by giving you the example of the Cross, and through my apostles I showed you that it was necessary to die in me so as to be able to go forward with your suffering
to obtain your deliverance.

Your deliverance, my children, is to you a renunciation of what you have been on earth.

Forsaking your human will to live in the Divine Will,

in my Father's Will, this is where the Kingdom of God is.

Adam and Eve said no to the Divine Will, for when, in their desire to become like little gods, they disobeyed, they said yes to their human will, wanting to choose on their own what was good and what was bad, and God withdrew his Divine Will for God is love.

He is a free God, he wants you to be free as well, he wants you to be love to him, he wants you to renounce your human will of your own accord.

My children, when you die, your physical body remains on earth, your soul presents itself to God.

A very short time is granted to you during which you see your life.

When you see God, and God envelops you in his love, the children of the earth who are before me and who have left their bodies, have a decision to make: the one of giving their yes to The Love, to renounce all they were (on earth), to
desire to live in the Divine Will (eternally), to desire to live in God, in Jesus, to go to my Father.

The children who are impure and who see themselves as unworthy of God's love, throw themselves into the fire of love in order to be purified.

It is with love that they do this because they have become love.

Evil has withdrawn from them and they become children of God, but as they know they are unworthy due to the sins they have committed, it is they themselves who agree to their purification.

This movement is love and when God the Father himself decides that they are worthy, these children come to him.

This time is unknown to them.

My children of love, I am coming to prepare you for the Great Purification on earth.

Every child on earth will see himself within himself, and this time is also unknown to you.

You, the children of the Light, you are in the process of allowing me, Jesus, to purify you.

When you accept your purification, you allow Jesus to turn you into children of the Divine Will.

You are already preparing your purification, and you are also helping the children you carry within you to become purified, for when they will be before me, they will have to agree to their purification in a moment of love.

That moment is unknown to them.

How long will this moment last? This is willed by my Father, it shall be according to what they have done on earth, and it is through you, my children, that I will come to help them so they will be able to withstand their sufferings.

This is why I am asking you to take them within you, to pray for them, to not judge them.

It is they who will judge themselves for not one of their deeds will not be shown to them, according to what they have been, for if a deed is impure, it is because they themselves have been impure.

No one shall escape this judgement; such is my Father's justice.

I am asking you to love one another, to give yourselves as I, I gave myself.

You are in me, you are part of my wounds, they too are part of my wounds.

I, I am Jesus, the only Son of God the Father and my sacrifice is unique.

Do you see, my children, that your sacrifices are part of my sacrifice?

Offer yourselves, give yourselves, God will reward you a hundredfold.

My children, if I were to tell you about the joy you will feel, you would not be
able to grasp all its worth because of your human will.

When you shall be in me, when you shall be children of the Divine Will, you will
be in this joy and then you will be able to grasp its entire depth for the
happiness within you will have revealed itself.

Behold, this time is coming soon.

Do not try to determine the moment; it is at this very moment that you must live
in the present; what is for tomorrow, leave that up to God.

Come die in me at this very moment and it is with the graces I give you right
now that you will live your tomorrow.

But before tomorrow comes, accumulate these graces of love through your yes in
me, Jesus.

I am The Love, I come to speak in your hearts.

I come to speak for your children, for your beloved brothers, for those you hold
so dear.

Be faithful.

I love you. I love you as you are. And if your children, your brothers and your
sisters whom you love so dearly, are not as you, you would like them to be: give
them to me! I carry them, they were in me before you, you come into this world;
they belong to me as you, you belong to me.

Trust in my word.

Keep your peace and when fear shall rise up within you, give it to me, for Satan
wants you to be afraid.

He loves it when you are doubtful, for he knows that I cannot act.

I cannot pour graces into you for your brothers and your sisters, for your
children, because when I pour graces into you, because you have doubted, you
have been afraid, then you see, they cannot benefit from these graces.

This is why he keeps you in fear and in doubt: give this to me and every time
you have a feeling of fear and of doubt: give it to me.

Remain at peace, in joy.

I come to bring you peace and love, for you, at this very moment in time, of
your present.

God wishes to bring down graces of love for you and for those you carry within
you.

Go within yourselves and welcome these graces. Take this time to be with me.

  "Called to continue before the Most Blessed Sacrament the Magi's adoration
at the Crib of Bethlehem, we ought to make ours the thought and love which
guided and sustained them.  They began at Bethlehem what we are doing in the
presence of the Sacred Host . . . .

    "The adoration of the Magi was a homage of faith and a tribute of love to
the Incarnate Word; such ought to be our Eucharistic adoration . . . .

    "How fortunate we are to be able to share, through the Eucharist, the
happiness of Mary, of the Magi, and of the first disciples who offered gifts to
Jesus Christ!  In the Eucharist we still have the poverty of Bethlehem to
relieve.  Oh!  Yes!  All the good things of grace and of glory come to us through
the divine Eucharist.  Their fountainhead is at Bethlehem, which became a
heaven of love; they gathered volume all through the life of the Savior; and all
these rivers of grace, virtue, and merit empty into the ocean of this adorable

Dec 31 - WHEN YOU HEAR THE BELLS AT MIDNIGHT

The Mother of God speaks of peace in the new year:

Next year will be a year of peace not because men have named it so but because God has planned it. You will not have peace through presidents, but through prayer (Locutionist Jelena & Mirjana Dec 31, 1985)

At the same time, to another of the little seers in Jelena's prayer group, Jesus said the following:

When you hear the bells at midnight, you shall fall on your knees, bow your head to the ground, so that the King of Peace will come. This year I will offer my peace to the world. But afterwards, I will ask where you were when I offered it (Locutionist Jelena & Mirjana Dec 31, 1985).

Five years later, on New Year's Eve in 1990, the Gospa said to Ivan's prayer group:

Dear children, tonight your Mother invites you to go together with me to the church in joy and prayerfulness (there was a special Mass at 11:30 p.m.) In tonight's special joy, pray in church for the intention of peace (Visionary Prayer Group Dec 31, 1990).

And in Romans, Paul echoes the Virgin's call to peace:

For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The one who thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and has human approval. Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding (Rom 14:17-19).

Reflection:

The Queen of Peace fittingly closes the year with a call to peace. This has always been her central message, the primary reason for her apparitions in Medjugorje. And, with the prayers of her children, what wonders she has achieved! The fall of the Berlin Wall, the liberation of Eastern Europe, the collapse of Communism, the rebirth of the Russian republics, the rise of both democracy and the philosophy of human rights.

A new age of peace has dawned "not through the presidents, but through prayer". All of us who have helped Our Lady through prayer, fasting, and sacrifice; all of us who have tried to live her messages; all of us who have believed in her and trusted her we too have had a part in ushering in this new age.

In decades to come historians will puzzle over the cataclysmic events of the 1980's and 90's, trying to figure out how it all could have happened. And most will be unaware that it was the work of a young maiden on a hillside in Yugoslavia, who wept for peace. Gathering the faithful from every land, she worked miracles. She continues to this day.

Application:

On New Year's Eve in 1985, Jesus said, "When you hear the bells at midnight, you will fall on your knees, bow your head to the ground, so that the King of Peace will come". Let us live that message tonight.

 

ROBERT VARRICK: Tears Of An Angel

TEARS  OF  AN  ANGEL

 
Many times I have heard the song O HOLY NIGHT, but I've never heard it sung so beautifully as at Christmas Eve Mass, here at the Church of the Assumption in Manchester. A young lady from a small group of performers sang this song, so soft and gentle, delicate like a wisping flame of a candle. She sang like an angel, being lifted in spirit, as tears flowed down her face. The words came from deep within and as I listened, her voice of song, filled with tenderness and compassion, poured over me.

 
And there I was, in Bethlehem, in the dark of night, peering over little baby Jesus in the manger, kneeling in reverence as the sweetness of words filled the air: A New Born King, The Holy One. A holy night of remembrance. The radiance of the bright star draws us closer to embrace the birth of little baby Jesus. From this manger, the first steps of our own journey begin. The illumination of the bright star becomes a beacon, casting its light in our direction; the illumination of the Holy Spirit is awakened and, with a beam of spiritual enlightenment, opens our heart and soul to ingest the gifts of the Spirit from the manger. They become an inner dwelling of spiritual confinement within us, a reservoir of our Lord's presence; with prayer and Eucharist it nourishes into compassionate embers'a love that burns and intensifies into a desire to be held in the Lord's embrace. And with this fragrance of heart it is I, who reaches out to the angel, to the one who sings.
 

After the Mass, I went up to this young lady and beckoned to her. She came forward and as I embraced her, I spoke softly and said, Thank you for singing O HOLY NIGHT. You sing like an angel. I saw the stream of tears on her face and wiped them and said, Your tears say it all, and then kissed her on the cheek. She was still in an uplifted state of emotion and said, Thank you. God bless you. I thanked her, and moved away, and left for home. I can tell you, when a performer such as this is overwhelmed into a state of compassionate tears, this is a grace from above, a genuine outpouring of purity of heart. To be touched and taken up in this realm of gifted moments is rare as heaven's mist of grace pours out fragrant words of song. The elevation of a heart and soul in these moments is beyond our control to extinguish; it is a spiritual calling to excel into a beauty of ecstasy. The song O HOLY NIGHT is usually sung with enthusiasm in celebration of our Lord's birth; but here, in unhurried whispered tones, the holy story unfolds with delicateness of a feather. The floatation of her words rested upon us, coated with the tears of an angel.

 
Indeed, this was, a Holy Night.

Our Blessed Mother Appeared to Dory at her home.

 

            On December 12th the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe while Dory was saying her morning prayers, Our Blessed Mother appeared to her.  She asked Dory to write down the story of how she received the Precious Blood of Her Son Jesus and to share this story with the people.

            On September 15th 2004 the Feast Day of Our Sorrowful Mother, Dory was rearranging things at her altar.  She had a box of religious articles sitting there.  When she was looking through these items she came across a picture of Our Sorrowful Mother (see the photo).  It was a picture like the Pieta with the body of Her Son Jesus lying in Her arms.  When Dory went to pick up this picture from the box she noticed a piece of cotton stuck to the picture on the shoulder of Our Blessed Mother.  Dory was not sure where this picture and cotton came from.  The cotton was not white.  She could see by the colour of the cotton that it was very old and there appeared to be oil in the centre of it.  Dory sat at her altar with this cotton not knowing what it was.  Our Blessed Mother then told Dory to open up the cotton.  When she did this she saw a red spot in the centre of it.  At that time Dory did not know what it was.  Many people that Dory showed this cotton to were interested to find out more about it.  Dory prayed very hard to Our Blessed Mother about this and on the third day She answered her.  She said; “This is the Precious Blood of My Son Jesus.”  She explained to Dory that at the time before Her Sons Crucifixion, the two of them met at the fourth station.  Our Blessed Mother wiped the blood from Jesus’ forehead where He was Bleeding from the Crown of Thorns.  He told Her to save this cotton with His Blood and when the time comes He will tell Her who to give it to.  Our Blessed Mother said to Dory; “You are the One.”  Dory asked Our Blessed Mother;  who am I to receive the Precious Blood of Jesus?  Our Blessed Mother answered;  “No one can tell who you are, not even yourself.  Only Me and My Son Jesus know who you are.”

            Our Blessed Mother told Dory to tell the people that this Precious Blood Picture is like the Ark of Noah.  All the people that honour this Precious Blood Picture from their hearts and pray the Precious Blood Prayers every day will be saved.

§         1 Glory Be

§         3 times, by the power of Your Precious Blood may Your will be done.

§         Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mother Mary hold us and keep us in Your Hearts forever.

Dory reminds us that we must also live according to the will of God doing prayers and works of action for our neighbour.  We must also follow what Our Blessed Mother has asked us to do.

Dory ends by saying:  “God bless us all.”

“I am the light”

Reading: Matthew 2:13-15

Dear friends,

“Behold the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, ‘Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you.” Matthew 2:13

We will have one hour of prayer in the prayer room from 11:00 p.m. to midnight tomorrow evening to thank the Lord for all He has done during 2007 and to ask for His help and protection for the New Year.

It will also be a time of reparation for all the insults hurled at Jesus during the past year.

My half-hour of prayer was spent with Our Lord Jesus to praise and thank Him for all the graces and help He gave us during the year that is slipping away.

He said, “Melvin, My brother and sharer in My priesthood, I love you. I bless and welcome all My brothers and sisters who wish to spend time with Me in prayer. I always wait for your visit every day.

The evil one was after Me right from My birth, desiring to destroy and eliminate Me from the face of the earth.

He used King Herod as his instrument by sending his army to Bethlehem to kill all the male children less than two years of age. My Father in heaven made sure that these soldiers would not find Me.

He sent an angel who appeared to Joseph in a dream to tell him to flee to Egypt with My Mother and Me. That very night he prepared everything and we fled Bethlehem toward Egypt. I was not welcomed in My homeland even though I was just an infant.

I had to go and live in a strange land. When it was time, the angel came back to Joseph in a dream to tell him that the King was dead and so we could return home.

The devil, the master of the darkness in the world, wanted to get rid of Me but he would not succeed until My hour had come.

However, I used this hour to offer My supreme sacrifice to My Father in heaven for the salvation of the people in the world. Through My sacrifice I defeated the evil one and My Kingdom was born.

I am the light who chases away the darkness spread by the enemy. His hold on the world is diminishing every time a person turns to Me, repents of his sins and enters My Kingdom.

All enter through the doors of My Church through baptism. Call everyone to enter the Kingdom prepared for you and there will be peace in the world. I love you and bless you.”

“Come and I will take you to Jesus, my Son”

 

Reading: Luke 2:22-38

 

Dear friends,

 

Simeon said to our Blessed Mother in the temple, “and you yourself a sword will pierce.” Luke 2:35

 

My time of contemplative prayer this morning was spent with our Blessed Mother who said, “Melvin, my son and Jesus’ friend, I love you. I am interceding for all my sons and daughters, especially those who accept me as their Mother and have a devotion to me. I want you all to believe in my Son Jesus and be His disciples.

 

Soon after Jesus’ birth, Joseph and I took the Child Jesus to Jerusalem to present Him to God in the Temple according to the law of the Jews. In the Temple that day there was a very old and holy man called Simeon who was waiting for the arrival of the Messiah into the world. He recognized the small infant as the Saviour and he was filled with joy as he held Him in his arms. At the end he turned to me, Jesus’ Mother, and told me, ‘and you yourself a sword will pierce.’ I did not know the full meaning of these words but I knew I would have much to suffer.

 

The full realization of Simeon’s words came during the Passion and death of my dear Son. I met Him as He was carrying the cross along the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem and saw with my own eyes the suffering He had undergone. I was also present at Calvary as He hung upon the cross until death in terrible pain. It is there at the foot of the cross that Simeon’s prophecy was fully realized. I suffered martyrdom with Him as I stood there praying with Him for the salvation of all the people of the world. I knew that He had to suffer all this pain until death to pay the price for your sins.

 

Come and I will take you to Jesus, my Son, and your Saviour. Accept Him and believe in Him with all your heart. Repent and be His follower. I love you.”

Today Our Lady speaks of happiness and the retreat of Satan:

 

Dear children, this Christmas Satan especially wanted to spoil God's plans, but you, dear children, discerned Satan even on Christmas Day itself. But God is winning in all your hearts. So let your hearts continue to be happy (Weekly Message Dec 27, 1984).

 

St. Paul also speaks of joy and the defeat of Satan:

 

For while your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, I want you to be wise in what is good and guileless in what is evil. The God of peace will shortly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you (Rom 16:10-20).

 

Reflection:

 

Happiness, according to many philosophers, is a state of being that nobody recognizes while they are happy, but can recollect all too clearly when they are unhappy. But the happiness that St. Paul and Our Lady refer today is the inner joy that is born of God's love in our hearts. It is the fruit of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ based on total trust. It usually does not happen all at once, but by degrees. As our trust builds, so does our peace.

But true glory and holy joy is to glory in Thee, O Lord, and not in one's self; to rejoice in thy name, and not to be delighted in one's own virtue, nor in any creature, save only for thy sake.

Son, I wish to take this opportunity to say something to my Sons and Daughters,

the Brothers and Sisters of my Son Jesus.

 

The Mother of your Lord is here once more as it has become my predilection to be

of help to my Son in winning more souls for the Kingdom.

 

My motherly heart reaches out to people of all faith, not only to those who have

recourse to me as the Mother of my Lord. Every soul is the Father's creation,

no one else. Each soul is sent to earth to inhabit bodies which has no equal in

its uniqueness as each soul is given by God a role to play in the earth life.

Souls incarnate on earth for a divine purpose. Life on earth is an education

process, a process which at the same time grants the soul his free will choice

in his journey to find the way back to the Creator. Whether to gravitate

towards the light or the darkness is a continuing dilemma in which every soul is

subjected to and depending on the individual choices, either the soul finds its

way back to the Kingdom or be lost along the way.

 

Each soul on earth is treated fairly. The seeming injustice manifested in

glaring poverty, very unlivable conditions, untold misery, these are all part of

the education process as well as byproducts of man's free will choice that

obviously gravitated out of the light. The free will choice exercised by the

first humans reverberated through the ages but the good news is that these are

all taken into account by the Almighty and in due time not too far away, will

institute measures that will correct this apparent life's inequity.

Son let me speak through you!

My brothers and sisters of the world, it is my pleasure to commune with you.

 

More than two thousand years have passed since I left the earthly abode, body,

soul and spirit and have not yet fulfilled my promise to come back when I can be

seen as I am. I understand the deep yearning of those who eagerly watch for my

appearing, but while this physical manifestation is yet to happen according to

what is written, may I remind you my brothers and sisters that even if you

cannot see me at this point in time yet, I am to serve notice that I am present

in those who have a piece of heaven in their hearts. I have continuing

fellowship with those who can feel my subtle presence, so to them, I have

already come. It is my presence in their lives that makes no difference at all

whether I come to be seen by the eyes even in a thousand years from now or

perhaps today. To them, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. When I come to be

physically seen, those who have me now in their hearts will not be caught by

surprise anymore. They will be the ones to sing with their hearts out

Your God then spoke, "What I am doing with My hand combined with what man is doing with his weather machines (2) is causing more disasters than the earth has ever witnessed.  What you are now experiencing is only the beginning of the 'labor pains.'

 

Mother Nature will run rampant the world over. Very few will survive what is to come.  Land, sea and sky will act violently, Simultaneously  to destroy both sin AND sinners.

 

All will be for all must be purified before My Son reigns as Eucharistic King (3) which will prepare the way for His 'coming.'

 

Prepare the way for Jesus!  Repent!  Forgive!  Love all!  Pray!  Become poor in spirit!  Trust Me!  Exalt in the Lord for I alone am THE WAY --- THE ONLY WAY!

 

Watch and see the world change as the Mighty Purification begins.

Munich Re Says Losses From Natural Disasters to Rise

 

 

BLOOMBERG - December 27, 2007 --  Munich Re, the world's second-biggest reinsurer, said losses from natural catastrophes will rise because of climate changes, costing clients more for insurance premiums. ---

The number of natural catastrophes this year rose to 950, the highest since Munich Re began keeping track in 1974. In 2007, one of the warmest years on record, the most costly catastrophe for insured losses was winter storm Kyrill, which battered Europe including Germany in January and caused $5.8 billion in damages.

 

Insured losses this year, however, remain well below the 2005 level of $99 billion when hurricanes such as Katrina and Rita made it the worst on record for natural catastrophes. No major hurricane has struck the U.S. during the hurricane season in the last two years.

 

Record rainfall in Britain caused floods in June and July and led to about $6 billion in insured losses. The most deadly disaster globally occurred in November in Bangladesh and India when Cyclone Sidr killed about 3,300 people, Munich Re said. ---

Come and I will take you to Jesus, my Son

 

Reading: Luke 2:22-38

 

Dear friends,

 

Simeon said to our Blessed Mother in the temple, and you yourself a sword will pierce.Luke 2:35

 

My time of contemplative prayer this morning was spent with our Blessed Mother who said, Melvin, my son and Jesus' friend, I love you. I am interceding for all my sons and daughters, especially those who accept me as their Mother and have a devotion to me. I want you all to believe in my Son Jesus and be His disciples.

 

Soon after Jesus' birth, Joseph and I took the Child Jesus to Jerusalem to present Him to God in the Temple according to the law of the Jews. In the Temple that day there was a very old and holy man called Simeon who was waiting for the arrival of the Messiah into the world. He recognized the small infant as the Saviour and he was filled with joy as he held Him in his arms. At the end he turned to me, Jesus' Mother, and told me, ?and you yourself a sword will pierce. I did not know the full meaning of these words but I knew I would have much to suffer.

 

The full realization of Simeon's words came during the Passion and death of my dear Son. I met Him as He was carrying the cross along the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem and saw with my own eyes the suffering He had undergone. I was also present at Calvary as He hung upon the cross until death in terrible pain. It is there at the foot of the cross that Simeon?s prophecy was fully realized. I suffered martyrdom with Him as I stood there praying with Him for the salvation of all the people of the world. I knew that He had to suffer all this pain until death to pay the price for your sins.

 

Come and I will take you to Jesus, my Son, and your Saviour. Accept Him and believe in Him with all your heart. Repent and be His follower. I love you.

Dec 29 - A SHEPHERD'S HEART

During Christmas of 1983, Our Lady said to Jelena:

I desire that you be a flower which blossoms for Jesus at Christmas, a flower which continues to bloom after Christmas has passed. I so wish that your heart be a shepherd's heart, for Jesus (Locution Jelena & Mirjana 1983).

St. John speaks of the miracle of the Incarnation:

And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth (Jn 1 :14).

Reflection:

The enduring love of Christ touches us in a special way during Christmas. At the same time it also inspires us to be shepherds after his own heart, a vocation to which the Mother of God also calls us. To have a shepherd's heart means to look around us, even search for, those in need. A story might illustrate:

Chad Varah was an Anglican priest. In 1953, he buried a girl of 18 who had killed herself. The coroner, at the inquest, suggested that she might not have done this desperate act if someone had been around who would have listened to her troubles.

Chad Varah decided to use his London church and a telephone to listen to people who were in despair. He put a small advertisement in the local paper, and during the first week he had 27 calls.

Soon he was listening and advising people twelve hours each day. There were so many people waiting in his outer office to see him that he asked some of his congregation to come and provide cups of tea for them.

Then he found that often people who had come into the outer office in great distress had become different people by the time they reached him, and some did not even wait to see him because of the helpers who had befriended the clients. That is how the Order of Samaritans was formed (Patrica Curley).

Application:

Let us answer the Madonna's call today by helping those who are needful in our own family and community - the aged, the handicapped, the bereaved. Ask Our Lady to point out to you the person(s) in need whom she wishes you to help.

Son of my will hearken unto my words!

My power and glory transcends everything. There is no one in heaven and earth
and the entire universe who is like me. I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob, the God of Noah and Enoch, the Father of my beloved Son Jesus.

I am the same billions of years ago, today and forevermore for I have no
beginning and no end, the Alpha and the Omega.

I do nothing without plan and purpose. Every word that issues forth from my
lips find its meaning and purpose in creation. Nothing escapes my eyes, even
things done in secret. I created man in my own image and likeness and to him
gave dominion over all the earth. But the first man and woman disobeyed me.
Paradise was lost.

I will restore Paradise. Man will again live in harmony with nature and nature
will cooperate to give man everything needed for life.
There will be no more wars. Peace on a renewed earth will reign.
People will be happy. They will live life to the fullest in an environment
where love and harmony reign supreme. I have created the future - a glorious
one.

Today is the day to prepare for it.

Jesus did not mean on any certain day because He does not give any timeline in these words but simply states at the Hour of His Birth.

NOTE: Church mystics and powerful St. Andrew prayer have said that the Hour of Jesus' Birth was midnight. No one knows for sure of course.

Dec 25 - CHRISTMAS DAY

On Christmas Day in 1989, Our Lady spoke of being a light for others:

Dear children, here is my Son in my arms! I would like to ask you to be a light for all in the year to come. I would like to call you again to live my messages, the message of peace, conversion, prayer, penance, and faith. Dear children, your Mother does not seek words from you, I ask for deeds. Your Mother will help you and she will give you the strength to persevere. And tonight I would like to tell you: Rejoice! (Visionary Prayer Group Dec 25, 1989).

And from Luke's gospel, the shepherds come to adore the Christ-child:

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us".

So they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them.

But Mary treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them (Lk 2:15-20).

Reflection:

Christmas is a season of light, the light of angels among shepherds, the light of a great star beckoning wise men, and in our own day, the multicolored lights of Christmas trees, outdoor decorations, and the bright glow from the windows of homes where families are gathered to celebrate.

Appropriately, today the Blessed Mother calls each of us to be, "a light for all in the year to come". Through living her messages, we have become changed people. The new peace and kindness in our lives attracts others who wish to share in these gifts of grace. In such a way, we have to become beacons of hope and joy drawing others to Christ.

Although our characters differ, and our personalities are unique, it is our many colors that form a harmony as Christmas lights on an evergreen. In the darkness, the glowing of the shinning lights is truly beautiful.

Application:

As Our Lady calls us to be a light for others by living her messages, let us pray for her special help today in doing just that.

Dear friends,

 

“And the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

 

I spent a half-hour in contemplative prayer this morning and I was with Jesus, Our Lord and friend. He said, “Melvin, My brother, I love you. I bless all My friends, especially those who are suffering in any way. I am with you and I am giving you the graces you need every day. I want to live in your hearts and make My permanent home there. Open your heart to Me every day.

 

I give glory to My Father in heaven for the marvels of His wisdom. It was His will that I be born of My Blessed Mother Mary as a man. I came to live among you and those who were present were able to touch, to see and to hear the Son of God without any difficulty. The Father brought about this great mystery so that you would be redeemed from your sins and become the adopted children of the Father. I am the Father’s only Son and by being a member of My Mystical Body, you become also a son or daughter of the Father. When He looks at Me, the Father sees all those who are grafted in Me and they are all His adopted children whom He loves as He loves Me.

 

My friends, our Father gives you everything, including the gift of life. Every good thing comes from Him and He is very generous with His gifts. He is always there to protect you and He provides for all your needs. Thank Him for your friends and every member of your family. You are called to honour your Father and to worship Him with all your heart. His children are expected to live according to His commandments, which He gave to Moses on the mountain. He loves you with infinite love and He expects you to love all your friends and neighbours, even those who do not love you. Strive with the graces I give you to love the Father by living a life in conformity with His plan for you. I bless you and My Father blesses you too.”

Melvin celebrates Holy Mass in the Prayer Room every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. A Healing Mass is also held once a month, usually on first Friday at 7:30 p.m. On the other Fridays of the month, a Marian Movement of Priests Cenacle is held at 7:30 p.m. Schedules may change depending on Fr. Melvin's commitments. The Prayer Room is usually open during the day, but we recommend that visitors call ahead.

During one time of prayer, I learned how pleasing to God was the soul of Father Andrasz. He is a true child of God. It is rare that divine sonship shines forth so clearly in a soul, and this because he has a special devotion to the Mother of God.       (1388)

Dec 29 - A SHEPHERD'S HEART

During Christmas of 1983, Our Lady said to Jelena:

I desire that you be a flower which blossoms for Jesus at Christmas, a flower which continues to bloom after Christmas has passed. I so wish that your heart be a shepherd's heart, for Jesus (Locution Jelena & Mirjana 1983).

St. John speaks of the miracle of the Incarnation:

And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth (Jn 1 :14).

Reflection:

The enduring love of Christ touches us in a special way during Christmas. At the same time it also inspires us to be shepherds after his own heart, a vocation to which the Mother of God also calls us. To have a shepherd's heart means to look around us, even search for, those in need. A story might illustrate:

Chad Varah was an Anglican priest. In 1953, he buried a girl of 18 who had killed herself. The coroner, at the inquest, suggested that she might not have done this desperate act if someone had been around who would have listened to her troubles.

Chad Varah decided to use his London church and a telephone to listen to people who were in despair. He put a small advertisement in the local paper, and during the first week he had 27 calls.

Soon he was listening and advising people twelve hours each day. There were so many people waiting in his outer office to see him that he asked some of his congregation to come and provide cups of tea for them.

Then he found that often people who had come into the outer office in great distress had become different people by the time they reached him, and some did not even wait to see him because of the helpers who had befriended the clients. That is how the Order of Samaritans was formed (Patrica Curley).

Application:

Let us answer the Madonna's call today by helping those who are needful in our own family and community - the aged, the handicapped, the bereaved. Ask Our Lady to point out to you the person(s) in need whom she wishes you to help.

Son of my will hearken unto my words!

My power and glory transcends everything. There is no one in heaven and earth
and the entire universe who is like me. I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob, the God of Noah and Enoch, the Father of my beloved Son Jesus.

I am the same billions of years ago, today and forevermore for I have no
beginning and no end, the Alpha and the Omega.

I do nothing without plan and purpose. Every word that issues forth from my
lips find its meaning and purpose in creation. Nothing escapes my eyes, even
things done in secret. I created man in my own image and likeness and to him
gave dominion over all the earth. But the first man and woman disobeyed me.
Paradise was lost.

I will restore Paradise. Man will again live in harmony with nature and nature
will cooperate to give man everything needed for life.
There will be no more wars. Peace on a renewed earth will reign.
People will be happy. They will live life to the fullest in an environment
where love and harmony reign supreme. I have created the future - a glorious
one.

Today is the day to prepare for it.

Referring to the message from Jesus to Louise (please reread the msg. as He states it)

Jesus did not mean on any certain day because He does not give any timeline in these words but simply states at the Hour of His Birth.

NOTE: Church mystics and powerful St. Andrew prayer have said that the Hour of Jesus' Birth was midnight. No one knows for sure of course.

Dec 25 - CHRISTMAS DAY

On Christmas Day in 1989, Our Lady spoke of being a light for others:

Dear children, here is my Son in my arms! I would like to ask you to be a light for all in the year to come. I would like to call you again to live my messages, the message of peace, conversion, prayer, penance, and faith. Dear children, your Mother does not seek words from you, I ask for deeds. Your Mother will help you and she will give you the strength to persevere. And tonight I would like to tell you: Rejoice! (Visionary Prayer Group Dec 25, 1989).

And from Luke's gospel, the shepherds come to adore the Christ-child:

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us".

So they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them.

But Mary treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them (Lk 2:15-20).

Reflection:

Christmas is a season of light, the light of angels among shepherds, the light of a great star beckoning wise men, and in our own day, the multicolored lights of Christmas trees, outdoor decorations, and the bright glow from the windows of homes where families are gathered to celebrate.

Appropriately, today the Blessed Mother calls each of us to be, "a light for all in the year to come". Through living her messages, we have become changed people. The new peace and kindness in our lives attracts others who wish to share in these gifts of grace. In such a way, we have to become beacons of hope and joy drawing others to Christ.

Although our characters differ, and our personalities are unique, it is our many colors that form a harmony as Christmas lights on an evergreen. In the darkness, the glowing of the shinning lights is truly beautiful.

Application:

As Our Lady calls us to be a light for others by living her messages, let us pray for her special help today in doing just that.

Reading: John 1:1-18

 

Dear friends,

 

“And the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

 

I spent a half-hour in contemplative prayer this morning and I was with Jesus, Our Lord and friend. He said, “Melvin, My brother, I love you. I bless all My friends, especially those who are suffering in any way. I am with you and I am giving you the graces you need every day. I want to live in your hearts and make My permanent home there. Open your heart to Me every day.

 

I give glory to My Father in heaven for the marvels of His wisdom. It was His will that I be born of My Blessed Mother Mary as a man. I came to live among you and those who were present were able to touch, to see and to hear the Son of God without any difficulty. The Father brought about this great mystery so that you would be redeemed from your sins and become the adopted children of the Father. I am the Father’s only Son and by being a member of My Mystical Body, you become also a son or daughter of the Father. When He looks at Me, the Father sees all those who are grafted in Me and they are all His adopted children whom He loves as He loves Me.

 

My friends, our Father gives you everything, including the gift of life. Every good thing comes from Him and He is very generous with His gifts. He is always there to protect you and He provides for all your needs. Thank Him for your friends and every member of your family. You are called to honour your Father and to worship Him with all your heart. His children are expected to live according to His commandments, which He gave to Moses on the mountain. He loves you with infinite love and He expects you to love all your friends and neighbours, even those who do not love you. Strive with the graces I give you to love the Father by living a life in conformity with His plan for you. I bless you and My Father blesses you too.”

Be My hands and My feet

 

Reading: Matthew 26:31-46

 

Dear friends,

 

Let us praise and thank the Lord for bringing us again to the Christmas season, a time of joy at the birth of Our Lord and Redeemer.

 

I celebrated Holy Mass in the prayer room yesterday evening and I prayed for all the sick people I?ve been asked to pray for. I also prayed for the conversion of non-believers that they come to believe in Jesus and be renewed. I ask you all to continue to pray for these people as our Blessed Mother asked in her last visit to me. If many people pray and these people return to the Lord, the terrible disaster will be avoided.

 

As we are in the Christmas Season, the Friday messages will not be on the Passion of Our Lord.

 

I was with Jesus, Our Lord, this morning during my time of prayer. He said, Melvin, My brother and friend, I love you. I love with all My heart all My brothers and sisters living in all the countries of the world. Do not be afraid as I am with you and protecting you. I thank you for putting Me first in your life and living every day with Me. Let our partnership grow every day through prayer, reading the Bible, and in many charitable works.

 

There are many people, however, that are far from Me. Some are addicted to drugs and alcohol and they have made these their god. Now that they are addicted, it is difficult for them to leave these things behind. Their family and friends suffer much at seeing the state they are in. These often end up stealing from their loved ones in order to satisfy their craving. They need help in order to free themselves from this slavery. Get them to go to a Cenacolo for two years and they will be free. These communities are an inspiration from the Holy Spirit to bring these slaves back to life. Pray for these addicts that they may find these communities and remain there until they are free so they can start a new life with Me. It is only through hard work and prayer that they will be healed.

 

There are many today that are suffering in many ways. Some are sick in body while others are sick in spirit. These too need prayers and healing. Do not abandon these suffering members of your community, but pray for them and visit them. Remember when you visit a person who suffers, you are visiting Me for I have identified Myself with every person who is sick. My friends, be My hands and My feet for these people. I love you all and I bless you.

 Dec 28 - I AM PRESENTING YOU TO GOD

 

Our Lady's monthly message for Christmas, 1987:

 

Dear children, rejoice with me! My heart is rejoicing because of Jesus and today I want each one of you to open your hearts to Jesus and I will give him to you with love.

 

Dear children, I want him to change you, to teach you, and to protect you. Today I am praying in a special way for each one of you and I am presenting you to God so he will manifest himself in you.

 

I am calling you to sincere prayer with the heart so that every prayer of yours may be an encounter with God. In your work and in your everyday life put God in the first place.

 

I call you today with great seriousness to obey me and to do as I am calling you (Monthly Message Dec 25, 1987).

 

The Christmas narrative continues with the flight into Egypt:

 

Now after they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him".

 

Then Joseph got up, took the child and his mother by night, and went to Egypt, and remained their until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet, "Out of Egypt I have called my son" (Mt 2:13-15).

 

Reflection:

 

Mary says to us today, "My heart is rejoicing because of Jesus and today I want to offer him to you".

 

Faced with the love of Christ and his Mother, we are inspired in turn to be loving and generous ourselves. To love is catching, especially in this holy season. One example:

 

A report from an elementary school near Chicago tells about a Christmas pageant held in the school. A third grader was the innkeeper. He had only one line to say; "Sorry. There is no room in the inn". But the little boy entered into the spirit of the play and said his part with real feeling. And then, as Mary and Joseph turned away to leave, the little fellow called out, "Come back, Joseph. I'll give you my room"! (Anonymous).

 

Application:

 

Like the little boy, allow yourself to be swept away by love during these days.

Jesus Tells Us To Teach, Nourish and Share!

 

 

At adoration today I said an Act of Contrition, gave thanks to God and made small offerings to Jesus and Mary. I prayed for all my brothers and sisters with special needs and intentions.

 

In prayer I asked Jesus to please cover me with His most precious blood before saying, Speak Lord (if it be Your will), Your servant listens.

 

Jesus responded to my prayer saying, The sweetness of the fruit is dependent upon the health and nourishment of the vine.

 

These words from Jesus can be taken in several ways. Imagine that what we put into our children in part, is how they grow spiritually, emotionally and intellectually.

 

Also Jesus' message can be interpreted to mean that the time and energy that we devote to our spiritual life will become a reflection of our eternal reward.

 

Yet we need to be conscious that we give each task we do in work or with family the time and effort deserving a loved one as a measure of our own love and mercy.

Son, please write for me.

 

My beloved brothers and sisters, let me have fellowship with you through my words. Your deep yearning to meet me in my Father's home is fully appreciated by your Redeemer. I read your hearts. As my first coming was announced by John the Baptist so does my coming again be announced by my Father's Archangels whose trumpet blasts will awaken in your soul the good news that your Savior is indeed coming.

 

The bridegroom ha s been delayed in appearing but this does not mean that this waiting will have to last forever. The Father's timing is perfect. He causes events to happen according to his flawless timetable and this my brothers and sisters is not a denial of your profound desire to be with me in my Father's house.

 

Prepare as if I am coming today but do not neglect your duty to love your neighbor as you love yourself for it is much better that you are enmeshed in doing the commandment to love in the service of others than idly waiting for my coming which I tell you will happen as if the thief comes in the middle of the night.

 

Be holy. Be righteous! Bear with one another. Avoid useless and time consuming debates. Love and understand one another. The truth will be unveiled to you in a spirit of love. Pray always.

Meditate on my words. These are the bright embers that will keep the light shining in your soul for the children of the light are my true brothers and sisters. Let not the darkness overcome the light.

 

The fight between the darkness and children of light will intensify.

Hold on to me. I am your shield and fortress whom no one can overcome. Victory against the archenemy is at hand. Your victory prize waits for you. Come into my rest. Share my happiness. Be patient. A little more time is what it takes.

 

Be glad. Be joyful always for your Savior cares for you.

 Far into the night, at the coldest time of the year, in a chilly grotto, more suitable for a flock of beasts than for humans, the promised Messiah – Jesus – the savior of mankind, comes into the world in the fullness of time.

 

There are none who clamor around him: only an ox and an ass lending their warmth to the newborn infant; with a humble woman, and a poor and tired man, in adoration beside him.

 

Nothing can be heard except the sobs and whimpers of the infant God. And by means of his crying and weeping he offers to the Divine justice the first ransom for our redemption.

 

He had been expected for forty centuries; with longing sighs the ancient Fathers had implored his arrival. The sacred scriptures clearly prophesy the time and the place of his birth, and yet the world is silent and no one seems aware of the great event.

 

Only some shepherds, who had been busy watching over their sheep in the meadows, come to visit him. Heavenly visitors had alerted them to the wondrous event, inviting them to approach his cave.

 

So plentiful, O Christians, are the lessons that shine forth from the grotto of Bethlehem! Oh how our hearts should be on fire with love for the one who with such tenderness was made flesh for our sakes!

 

Oh how we should burn with desire to lead the whole world to this lowly cave, refuge of the King of kings, greater than any worldly palace, because it is the throne and dwelling place of God! Let us ask this Divine child to clothe us with humility, because only by means of this virtue can we taste the fullness of this mystery of Divine tenderness.

 

Glittering were the palaces of the proud Hebrews. Yet, the light of the world did not appear in one of them. Ostentatious with worldly grandeur, swimming in gold and in delights, were the great ones of the Hebrew nation; filled with vain knowledge and pride were the priests of the sanctuary.

 

In opposition to the true meaning of Divine revelation, they awaited an officious savoir, who would come into the world with human renown and power.

 

But God, always ready to confound the wisdom of the world, shatters their plans. Contrary to the expectations of those lacking in Divine wisdom, he appears among us in the greatest abjection, renouncing even birth in St. Joseph’s humble home, denying himself a modest abode among relatives and friends in a city of Palestine.

 

Refused lodging among men, he seeks refuge and comfort among mere animals, choosing their habitation as the place of his birth, allowing their breath to give warmth to his tender body.

 

He permits simple and rustic shepherds to be the first to pay their respects to him, after he himself informed them, by means of his angels, of the wonderful mystery.

 

Oh wisdom and power of God, we are constrained to exclaim – enraptured along with your Apostle – how incomprehensible are your judgments and unsearchable your ways! Poverty, humility, abjection, contempt, all surround the Word made flesh.

But we, out of the darkness that envelops the incarnate Word, understand one thing, hear one voice, perceive one sublime truth: you have done everything out of love, you invite us to nothing else but love, speak of nothing except love, give us naught except proofs of love.

 

The heavenly babe suffers and cries in the crib so that for us suffering would be sweet, meritorious and accepted. He deprives himself of everything, in order that we may learn from him the renunciation of worldly goods and comforts.

 

He is satisfied with humble and poor adorers, to encourage us to love poverty, and to prefer the company of the little and simple rather than the great ones of the world.

 

This celestial child, all meekness and sweetness, wishes to impress in our hearts by his example these sublime virtues, so that from a world that is torn and devastated an era of peace and love may spring forth.

 

 Even from the moment of his birth he reveals to us our mission, which is to scorn that which the world loves and seeks.

 

Oh let us prostrate ourselves before the manger, and along with the great St. Jerome, who was enflamed with the love of the infant Jesus, let us offer him all our hearts without reserve.

 

Let us promise to follow the precepts which come to us from the grotto of Bethlehem, which teach us that everything here below is vanity of vanities, nothing but vanity.

Jesus calls the poor and simple shepherds by means of angels to manifest Himself to them. He calls the learned men by means of their science. And all of them moved interiorly by grace hasten to adore Him.

 

He calls all of us with divine inspirations and He communicates Himself to us with His Grace. How many times has He not lovingly invited us also? And with what promptitude have we replied? My God I blush and am filled with confusion at having to reply to such a question.

Dec 27 - I WISH TO DEEPEN YOUR LOVE

 

In this Christmas season, Our Lady seeks to lead us further in love:

 

Dear children, I wish to thank all of you who have heeded my messages and who, on Christmas Day, have put into practice what I asked of you. Undefiled by sin from now on, I wish to deepen your love even further. And so, abandon your hearts to me! (Weekly Message Dec 26, 1985).

 

The story of the Magi speaks of love expressing itself in giving:

 

When they had heard the king, they set out; and there, ahead of them, went the star that they had seen at its rising, until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy.

 

On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh (Mt 2: 9-12).

 

Reflection:

 

As our readings illustrate today, Christmas is the great season of love and giving. The Magi, awed by the miracle of God coming into the world as a helpless infant, responded by offering him their most precious gifts.

 

This spirit of giving is captured in this passage from Frank O'Connor's, An Only Child:

 

One Christmas, Santa Claus brought me a toy engine. I took it with me to the convent, and played with it while mother and the nuns discussed old times. But it was a young nun who brought us in to see the crib.

 

When I saw the Holy Child in the manger, I was distressed because little as I had, he had nothing at all. For me it was fresh proof of the incompetence of Santa Claus.

 

I asked the young nun politely if the Holy Child didn't like toys, and she replied composedly enough, "Oh, he does, but his mother is too poor to afford them."

 

That settled it. My mother was poor too, but at Christmas she at least managed to buy me something even if it was only a box of crayons.

 

I distinctly remember getting into the crib and putting the engine between his outstretched arms. I probably showed him how to wind it as well, because a small baby like that would not be clever enough to know.

 

I remember too the tearful feeling of reckless generosity with which I left him there in the nightly darkness of the chapel, clutching my toy to his chest.

 

Application:

 

Today, simply reflect in prayer on the gifts you have received from the Lord. In what way can you share them?

 

Message to Fr. Melvin Doucette December 27, 2007

 

Our Father gives you everything

 

Reading: John 1:1-18

 

Dear friends,

 

And the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the Father's only Son, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

 

I spent a half-hour in contemplative prayer this morning and I was with Jesus, Our Lord and friend. He said, Melvin, My brother, I love you. I bless all My friends, especially those who are suffering in any way.

 

I am with you and I am giving you the graces you need every day. I want to live in your hearts and make My permanent home there. Open your heart to Me every day.

 

I give glory to My Father in heaven for the marvels of His wisdom. It was His will that I be born of My Blessed Mother Mary as a man.

 

I came to live among you and those who were present were able to touch, to see and to hear the Son of God without any difficulty. The Father brought about this great mystery so that you would be redeemed from your sins and become the adopted children of the Father.

 

I am the Father's only Son and by being a member of My Mystical Body, you become also a son or daughter of the Father. When He looks at Me, the Father sees all those who are grafted in Me and they are all His adopted children whom He loves as He loves Me.

 

My friends, our Father gives you everything, including the gift of life. Every good thing comes from Him and He is very generous with His gifts. He is always there to protect you and He provides for all your needs. Thank Him for your friends and every member of your family.

 

You are called to honour your Father and to worship Him with all your heart. His children are expected to live according to His commandments, which He gave to Moses on the mountain.

 

He loves you with infinite love and He expects you to love all your friends and neighbours, even those who do not love you. Strive with the graces I give you to love the Father by living a life in conformity with His plan for you. I bless you and My Father blesses you too.

P.S. I was supposed to go to New Brunswick today but because of the snowstorm I will stay home. I hope to go another day.

 

I will have one hour of prayer in the prayer room on December 31 from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight to usher in the New Year. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

I will have a Healing Mass on January 4, 2008, the first Friday of January. I pray that it will be a nice day.

 

I continue to answer the many letters I received for Christmas. I thank you all for your cards and gifts.

Listen to the angels sing
 
Reading: Luke 2:8-20
 
Dear friends,
 
Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.
 
My time of prayer this morning was spent with Jesus, Our Lord, who said, Melvin, My brother and companion, I love you. I fill you all, My brothers and sisters, with peace and joy after all the wonderful celebrations in My honour that have taken place in all parts of the world. I blessed you all with My gifts.
 
After My birth in Bethlehem, the first ones who came to visit Me in the manger were the shepherds who took care of the sheep on the hills around the place I was born. The Father sent an angel to them to announce My birth and to invite them to come and visit Me. Then they saw a huge choir of angels singing with great joy. The shepherds got up right away and walked to Bethlehem to see the newborn child. They came and knelt down before Me and praised God for this marvelous night. They were the first ones to spread the news that the Messiah, the Saviour, was born.
 
During these days, I invite you all to come in spirit to Bethlehem to visit Me. I am the long-awaited Saviour born of Mary, My Mother, for the salvation of all the people of the world. Come and sing like the angels who glorified and praised God for My coming into the world. Come and adore like the shepherds who were filled with awe at seeing this divine child. Spend time in the stable with St. Joseph, My Blessed Mother and Me, an infant, lying on the hay in the manger. Listen to the angels sing and see the bright star over the place I was born.
 
Remember, My friends, that I came into this world out of love for each one of you. I came that you might have life, life in abundance. I love you and bless you.

MESSAGE FROM THE FATHER December 26, 2007

Son, many things are happening right now which the world at large is not aware
of but which will manifest in due time a time which catches the great multitude
by a complete surprise. Read the signs of the times and remain not clueless on
what is soon to transpire.

Prayers of the faithful are still a balancing weight against the full
dispensation of justice but how many in the whole world do understand my
merciful ways that justice and mercy are being weighed in the balance. Do I
cause wars to take place in the world?
Is that not the evilness in men's heart that causes wars?

I can clearly see the future. I can intervene or not but what would impel me
to do so if so few in the world seek my merciful intervention? I have the power
to touch the hearts of men, even the most wicked of them all just to reconsider
the plan of going to war.


I said no more delay for I see the wariness that has overcome the resolve of
those who pray. Will I intervene if by these words of mine, people take heed
and tip the balance towards the extension of the period of mercy? That burden,
my sons and daughters of the world is now placed on your shoulders a light
burden should I say, for what it takes is just a little sacrifice of your time
to pray for mercy to tip the balance against justice.

Merry Christmas to all.
Our Lady in 1996, Christmas day told us that, these are the days in which the Father grants special graces to all who open their hearts.

I pray that today, God blesses you all abundantly and that Our Lady wraps you all in her mantle of protection. That we all open our hearts to receive those special graces God wants to give us.

Here is our Message for Christmas day from Our Lady.

"Dear children! With great joy I bring you the King of Peace for Him to bless you with His blessing. Adore Him and give time to the Creator for whom your heart yearns. Do not forget that you are passers-by on this earth and that things can give you small joys, while through my Son, eternal life is given to you. Jakov Colo Message of December 25, 2006

At the last daily apparition to Jakov Colo on September 12th, 1998, Our Lady told him that henceforth he would have one apparition a year, every December 25th, on Christmas Day.
This is also how it was this year. The apparition began at 2:29 pm and lasted 6 minutes.

Our Lady gave the following message:

"Dear children! Today, in a special way I call you to become open to God and for each of your hearts today to become a place of Jesus' birth. "Dear children! Also today I bring you the newborn Jesus in my arms. He who is the King of Heaven and earth, He is your peace. Little children, no one can give you peace as He who is the King of Peace. Therefore, adore Him in your hearts, choose Him and you will have joy in Him. He will bless you with His blessing of peace. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Dec 26 - REJOICE WITH ME!

On Christmas in 1988, the Blessed Mother asked us to rejoice with her:

Dear children, I am calling you to peace. Live peace in your heart and in your surroundings, so that all may recognize the peace, which does not come from you, but from God. Little children, today is a great day. Rejoice with me! Celebrate the birth of Jesus with my peace, the peace with which I came as your Mother, Queen of Peace. Today I am giving you my special blessing. Carry it to every creature so that each one may have peace. (Monthly Message Dec 25, 1988)

And from Luke's gospel, the birth of the Messiah:

While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn (Lk 1:6-7).

I see Mary with the newborn son in her arms. A little baby, flushed, bustling with his little hands and kicking with his small feet: and crying with a thin trembling voice just like a newborn lamb. And he moves his small head that is so blond that it seems without any hair, a little round head that his mother holds in the hollow of her hand, while she looks at her baby and adores him weeping and smiling at the same time, and she bends down to kiss him not on his head, but on the center of his chest, where underneath there is his small heart beating for us?where one day there will be the Wound?

"Come, let us offer Jesus to the Father", says Mary. And she lifts her baby in her arms and says: "Here I am. On his behalf, O God, I speak these words to you: Here I am to do your will. And I, Mary, and my spouse, Joseph, with him. Here are your servants, O Lord. May your will always be done by us, in every hour, in every event, for your glory and your love".

Application:

Today, let us simply live the Gospa's message: "Rejoice with me! Celebrate the
birth of Jesus with my peace?"

Son, your prayers have reached the throne of the Father.

Your earthly father is now a free man.  Your dream about your father, the priest's gentle persuasion to remember your loved ones who have already left, your friend's reminder to pray for the departed, specific on yesterday, your praying of the three Rosaries for the release of your father's soul and the three masses you offered for your father, these my son are not mere coincidences but may I definitely say  Divine Appointments.
How euphoric your father was when I with Saint Michael fetched him from the precipice   the last frontier between heaven and the place of expiation.  You will not know unless I tell you.
This is to further reinforce your resolve to help those who have gone ahead, for in their place of final purification they cannot help themselves but only through the time, effort, sacrifices and prayers offered on their behalf for their souls to obtain succor.

They would have stayed there for longer times without the loving intercession of devout people on earth for each and every unconfessed light sin have its corresponding penalty.

 Yes, it is true, my Son Jesus did pay with his blood sacrifice man's salvation and promises of the heavenly kingdom but this grace through faith is obtainable only when a person on his lifetime humbles himself, acknowledges each sin, repents and make a vow not to offend Jesus again.  Anything less than that merits the necessary stay in a place of purification for no one appears before the Father and have fellowship with my Son, the Angels and the Saints without a complete shedding of the stain in the soul brought about by sin.

Go in peace son and let others know of these my words.

Soon I AM is coming to every heart. Are you prepared? Is there LOVE in your
heart?


The long awaited events are about to happen. I ask again, are you prepared?
The LOVE I speak of is the HEART of MY MOTHER. Have you run to HER like good
children? Have you turned away from HER listening to your pride.

Soon every knee will bend to HER proclaiming that SHE is the MOTHER of GOD.
That SHE, MOST HOLY, is the MOTHER OF ALL MANKIND. Do not turn away from HER
HEART, but run to it as it is the sure path to ME.

Who will shield you from MY JUSTICE but HER who is the PERFECT REFLECTION of MY
LOVE and MERCY. HER HEART alone is the GATEWAY to ME. Do not turn away from
it. Allow MY MOTHER to protect and nourish you in these times.

Soon it will be all but impossible to enter HER HEART. THEN I WARN YOU MY
CHILDREN MY JUSTICE WILL FIND YOU!!!

These words will resound in your heart and soul, where is your MOTHER?

Why have you turned away from HER, SO HOLY, SO LOVING?
I will then JUDGE you JUSTLY. What PAIN you will experience!! Run to HER, LOVE

Today's Message
December 24, 2007

“Rejoice that your Saviour has come”

Reading: Luke 2:1-20

Dear friends,

“Glory to God in the highest and on

earth peace to those on whom his

favour rests.”

 

My half-hour of prayer was spent this

morning with our Heavenly Father

who said, “Melvin, My son, I love you

and bless you. I love all My sons and

daughters throughout the world,

especially those who believe in My Son

Jesus and will celebrate the great feast

of His birth. I sent Him into the world

to live as a man and to be your

Saviour. He is the Messiah I had

foretold after the sin of your first

parents.

 

I had prepared the most perfect

woman to be the Mother of My Son.

She was prepared from her

conception to be the fitting Mother of

the Son of God. When the time was

right He was born in Bethlehem.

 

 

 

It was

with great joy that I sent the angels to

sing at His birth and I made a star

appear over the stable. This great

night is truly the central point of the

history of the human race. It was out

of love for every one of you, My

children, that I caused this divine

intervention among you by the birth of

the God-Man.

Because of the grave sin of your first

parents, heaven was closed to all of

you. You were all born in sin and only

a divine Saviour could open heaven for

you and wash away your sins by His

supreme sacrifice on the cross. It was

necessary, therefore, for the Messiah

to come to free you from your sins

and show you the way to heaven.

 

 

He

came as the light of the world to teach

you the truth, to establish His Church

and to call you to repentance of all

your sins. Today open your heart and

accept My Son Jesus by celebrating

His birth. Rejoice that your Saviour

has come and follow Him every day. I

bless you all.”

became man?"  "`And the Word

flesh.'

 

 

That truth became a reality in

the manger at Bethlehem. But it was

to be fulfilled in yet another form:

`Whoever eats my flesh and drinks

my blood, has eternal life.' The Savior,

who knows that we are human beings

and will remain human beings who

have to struggle daily with

weaknesses, comes to our assistance

in a truly divine manner. Just as the

human body is in need of daily bread,

so also does the divine life in us

require constant nourishment"  (St.

Teresa Benedicta—Edith Stein).

A Jewish lady named Mrs. Rosenberg

who many years ago was stranded

late one night at a fashionable resort -

one that did not admit Jews.

The desk clerk looked down at his

book and said, "Sorry, no room.  The

hotel is full."

The Jewish lady said, "But your sign

says that you have vacancies."

The desk clerk stammered and then

said curtly, "You know that we do not

admit Jews.  Now if you will try the

other side of town..."

Mrs. Rosenberg stiffened noticeable

and said, "I'll have you know I

converted to your religion."

The desk clerk said, "Oh, yeah, let me

give you a little test.  How was Jesus

born?"

Mrs. Rosenberg replied, "He was born

to a virgin named Mary in a little town

called Bethlehem."

"Very good," replied the hotel clerk.  

"Tell me more."

Mrs. Rosenberg replied, "He was born

in a manger."

"That's right," said the hotel clerk.  

"And why was he born in a manger?"

Mrs. Rosenberg said loudly, "Because

in the hotel they wouldn't give a

Jewish Lady a room for the night!"

We should give thanks to God for

what He has done in us, with us, and

through us. We should thank Him for

using us to be His love and mercy.

Padre Pio - Don't let your zeal be

bitter, fussy, aggravating or a cause of

uneasiness, but let it be free from all

defects: Let it be sweet, benevolent,

gracious, peaceful and uplifting. Ah,

who cannot see the dear little Infant of

Bethlehem in the event for which we

are preparing? Who does not see His

incomparable love for souls? He

comes to die in order to save, and He

is so humble, sweet and lovable.

Crosses can be great blessings if we

allow them to be

"It is the trials imposed upon us by

others, such as their injustices, their

harsh words, their knife-in-the-back

attitudes, and their peevishness, that

weariness of the spiritual life is due to

the constant necessity of bearing the

shortcomings of others, along with the

never-ending strife against our own

I am reliving these moments with Our

Lady. With great longing, I am waiting

for the Lord's coming. Great are my

desires. I desire that all humankind

come to know the Lord. I would like

to prepare all nations for the coming

of the Word Incarnate. O Jesus, make

the fount of Your mercy gush forth

more abundantly, for humankind is

seriously ill and thus has more need

than ever of Your compassion. You

are a bottomless sea of mercy for us

sinners; and the greater the misery,

the more right we have to Your

mercy. You are a fount which makes

all creatures happy by Your infinite

During Holy Mass, the little Infant

Jesus brings joy to my soul. Often,

distance does not exist-I see a certain

priest who brings Him down. I am

awaiting Christmas with great

yearning; I am living in expectation

together with the Most Holy Mother.

December 23, 1936. I am spending

this time with the Mother of God and

preparing myself for the solemn

moment of the coming of the Lord

Jesus. The Mother of God is instructing

me in the interior life of the soul with

Jesus, especially in Holy Communion.

It is only in eternity that we shall know

the great mystery effected in us by

Holy Communion. O most precious

Dec 24 - THE VIGIL OF CHRISTMAS

On this vigil of Christmas, the Blessed

Mother calls us to glorify Jesus and his

Nativity:

Dear children, for Christmas my

invitation is that together we glorify

Jesus. I present him to you in a special

way on that day and my invitation to

you is that we glorify Jesus and his

nativity. Dear children, on that day

pray still more and think more about

Jesus (Weekly Message Dec 12,

1985).

And on this vigil in 1990:

Dear children, tonight your Mother

invites you to give her all your

problems.

My dear children, Rejoice! (Visionary

Prayer Group Message Dec 24, 1990).

The following is Matthew's passage on

the birth of Christ:

Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah

took place in this way. When his

mother Mary had been engaged to

Joseph, but before they lived together,

she was found to be with child from

the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph,

being a righteous man and unwilling to

expose her to public disgrace, planned

to dismiss her quietly. But just when

he had resolved to do this, an angel of

the Lord appeared to him in a dream

and said, "Joseph, son of David, do

not be afraid to take Mary as your

wife, for the child conceived in her is

from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a

son, and you are to name him Jesus,

for he will save his people from their

sins".

All this took place to fulfill what had

been spoken by the Lord through the

prophets: "Look, the virgin shall

conceive and bear a son, and they

shall name him Emmanuel", which

means, "God is with us". When Joseph

awoke from sleep, he did as the angel

of the Lord commanded him; he took

her as his wife, but had no marital

relations with her. She bore a son, and

he named him Jesus (Mt 1:18-25).

Reflection:

Tonight we celebrate the greatest

event of all time, the birth of the

Messiah, the divine God taking on

human flesh. For ages the Jewish

people had waited for him, and when

the miracle finally occurred, the first to

hear of it were not the nobility or

Temple hierarchy, but simple

shepherds. The birth was in a stable,

not a palace. Even at the beginning,

the Messiah came first to the humble,

the ordinary, the poor. And he still

comes to them, to all with hearts

humble enough to receive him.

Application:

Greet the Christ child with prayer and

love this evening. Give him your heart

as your gift.

I am reliving these moments with Our

Lady. With great longing, I am waiting

for the Lord's coming. Great are my

desires. I desire that all humankind

come to know the Lord. I would like

to prepare all nations for the coming

of the Word Incarnate. O Jesus, make

the fount of Your mercy gush forth

more abundantly, for humankind is

seriously ill and thus has more need

than ever of Your compassion. You

are a bottomless sea of mercy for us

sinners; and the greater the misery,

the more right we have to Your

mercy. You are a fount which makes

all creatures happy by Your infinite

During Holy Mass, the little Infant

Jesus brings joy to my soul. Often,

distance does not exist-I see a certain

priest who brings Him down. I am

awaiting Christmas with great

yearning; I am living in expectation

together with the Most Holy Mother.

December 23, 1936. I am spending

this time with the Mother of God and

preparing myself for the solemn

moment of the coming of the Lord

Jesus. The Mother of God is instructing

me in the interior life of the soul with

Jesus, especially in Holy Communion.

It is only in eternity that we shall know

the great mystery effected in us by

Holy Communion. O most precious

Dec 24 - THE VIGIL OF CHRISTMAS

On this vigil of Christmas, the Blessed

Mother calls us to glorify Jesus and his

Nativity:

Dear children, for Christmas my

invitation is that together we glorify

Jesus. I present him to you in a special

way on that day and my invitation to

you is that we glorify Jesus and his

nativity. Dear children, on that day

pray still more and think more about

Jesus (Weekly Message Dec 12,

1985).

And on this vigil in 1990:

Dear children, tonight your Mother

invites you to give her all your

problems.

My dear children, Rejoice! (Visionary

Prayer Group Message Dec 24, 1990).

The following is Matthew's passage on

the birth of Christ:

Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah

took place in this way. When his

mother Mary had been engaged to

Joseph, but before they lived together,

she was found to be with child from

the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph,

being a righteous man and unwilling to

expose her to public disgrace, planned

to dismiss her quietly. But just when

he had resolved to do this, an angel of

the Lord appeared to him in a dream

and said, "Joseph, son of David, do

not be afraid to take Mary as your

wife, for the child conceived in her is

from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a

son, and you are to name him Jesus,

for he will save his people from their

sins".

All this took place to fulfill what had

been spoken by the Lord through the

prophets: "Look, the virgin shall

conceive and bear a son, and they

shall name him Emmanuel", which

means, "God is with us". When Joseph

awoke from sleep, he did as the angel

of the Lord commanded him; he took

her as his wife, but had no marital

relations with her. She bore a son, and

he named him Jesus (Mt 1:18-25).

Reflection:

Tonight we celebrate the greatest

event of all time, the birth of the

Messiah, the divine God taking on

human flesh. For ages the Jewish

people had waited for him, and when

the miracle finally occurred, the first to

hear of it were not the nobility or

Temple hierarchy, but simple

shepherds. The birth was in a stable,

not a palace. Even at the beginning,

the Messiah came first to the humble,

the ordinary, the poor. And he still

comes to them, to all with hearts

humble enough to receive him.

Application:

Greet the Christ child with prayer and

love this evening. Give him your heart

as your gift.
