What is Calm Waters?
Calm Waters is the silence of a lake up north at sunset, listening to a loon call off in the distance, watching boats float on the water as the people inside fish.
Calm Waters is the bobbing of a sailboat on the waves, with a salty breeze and a cool mist, and watching the horizon never come any closer.
Calm Waters is a tropical bay at night, and listening to the waves lapping gently on the shore, and the cool darkness that is the only time of relief.
Calm Waters is being inside with a book by the fire, with wet hair, warming up and listening to the rain softly falling on the roof.
In a time of speeding highways and surfing the powerful waves of the web, there is a special place with calm waters in the rush. That is here. A place for YOU to just hang on the web and possibly share your thoughts and feelings.
Huzzah! The site finally has a purpose. I will use it for the next month to tag my progress through the rainbow of cities, languages and cultures that is Europe. The main page for this adventure will be here. I'm still working on getting my pictures down to a decent size on my camera, so it is likely I will only be posting one or two from each city. Thus, the outcome will be like most of this site: written over visual. Unless I can get a good image editor to make the pics smaller. Then I can post many, many more. Enjoy!
