Behind every great "master builder" there's a team of dedicated assistants
Construction Weekend #2
Saturday was a rather cold and dreary day.. but never-the-less, we had a crew of about 12 people. Dame Hauviette d'Anjou and two other of her Shire members drove in from Canada and prepared a WONDERFUL lunch and dinner feast. Due primarily to the weather, those of able body, worked diligently on wall sections and completed a total of 23 of them. They decided to start timing themselves and before long, were putting these wall sections together in 7-8 minutes. Those of us on the 'disabled' list, filed corner brackets, while other's played in the tar (no feathers that I could see)....GREAT JOB EVERYONE!
5/14/01 - I just received the names of the other "chefs" for our Saturday Feast and would like to make sure that they are credited properly for all the wonderful food that was brought. Lord Eric Edwardson and Lady Kiar of Auburn are students of Dame Hauviette d'Anjou. The breads were made and donated by Lady Mishala Basinah ben Avraham. Some of the donations were made by the Barony of Northwoods. Thank you again for a fantastic FEAST!
Our youngest volunteer was Justin ~ son of Eric & Kiar
Also, I understand that Dame Hauviette d'Anjou just recently received her Laurel for cooking and research... VIVAT! I can attest that it is definitely WELL deserved!
Sunday Construction
Though a nice bright sunny day, the weather was still on the chilly side. Today, the focus was on filling in some of the wall sections. Several SCAdians (from New York) stopped by after Crown Tourney and received the GRAND TOUR of the Castle. With a lot of the prep-work accomplished this weekend, the plan is to begin setting the front wall sections next weekend.
This Pennsic Castle (fortress) information site brought to you by Deianeira of the Clan IcePhoenix.
Next weekend is Æthelmærc War Practice at Cooper's Lake and we'll be there drill's and shovels in hand working on this FANTASIC and MAGNIFICIENT piece of engineering.
Soooo...Stay tuned for next weekends pictures.... and..... updates to this page
