Both the Assassination Attempt and the Kidnapping Attempt (AA & KA) are carried out in the same way and both have the same hit table for a kill/capture.  The only real difference is the result.

AA- The purpose of an AA is to kill a target.  Only a registered Assassin can AA a person.  An AA can take place at any time with no contracts needed.

"Assassinations for dummies"

written by: Storm Thalra-

The beginning of the AA is always the easiest part, after all, all you have to do is let your mun announce your presence and that you are AA'ing your target.  An example is shown below.

DeathStormT:  (RoT AA on ?????, Assassin DeathStormT, state dice and enhancers and then roll perception.)

Now you state your dice and your enhancers if you have any (note: a limit on enhancers is 1 Attack and 1 Defense item per person, enhancers are gone over more in depth in the Shops and Services section of our rules)

DeathStormT: (2d50 no enhancers)

?????: (2d46 no enhancers)

DeathStormT:  7 needed to kill

As there are no enhancers on either side in this case it will be really easy to explain things as they go now.  The first step is to roll perception, the target must roll 2d20 and get a total of 2 to see the assassin.  If they see the assassin they can now either atack which will start a DM, Dodge which means they can roll their dice and if they roll better than their attacker they will have rolled aside in time to make the attack miss, or they can run meaning they RP the run and then leave the room. At this point we are going to assume that the percpetion roll did not work.

Online Host:  ????? Has rolled 2 20 sided dice  12  19

As there was only a 1  rolled on perception the assassination attempt will continue

DeathStormT:  ::slips up silently behind ????? and reaching around to cover his mouth Storm then slides a wicked dagger across ?????'s throat::

Online Host:  DeathStormT has rolled 2 50 sided dice  43  50

DeathStormT:  14/7  ????? is dead

If storm had not rolled enough to kill his target then he would have to run from the room before the target could RP a capture...and yes he MUST RP the running as well or else it doesn't count and we will consider him captured and killed by the target.  Below is the hit table of what you need total to kill what number of dice someone has.  If the room is sealed off before Storm could escape then a DM would follow with the points hit in the AA being the starting score of the DM.

Target's dice ________ Points needed for a successful AA

2d30-39...............................................6
2d40-49............................................... 7
2d50-59................................................8
2d60-69..............................................10
2d70..............................................12
