Freelancers are people that do not wish to join any Guild or Kingdom. This is an option that indeed is open for all. You can join whatever rank chart you want (a possible SL for a noble that is a freelancer could be he/she is all that is left of his/her family). Freelancers can hire themselves out to any guilds or kingdoms on any world and under any god, however the Freelancer will have one world that he/she will call home.
