Each candidate should bring an item that may be added to the Coven Totem. This may be beads, feathers, stones, skins, fur, bone, herbs, or any other natural item that appeals to you or seems appropriate for the Coven. This item should be CONNECTED TO YOU.

Each candidate should also select a gift. This gift should be wrapped in an anonymous way. These Gifts will be exchanged; selected intuitively by a dedicate at the end of the ceremony. It should be something the dedicate might place on their altar, wear, or carry. IF there's only two, well you get the point...

The Circle will be cast with the candidates outside of the Ritual Room. The candidates will enter at the gate after the Circle is cast {in Elvish) and be smudged, and challenged.

All of the coven will sit in a circle.

The HP'S will anoint and bless the Priest first and say:

'By all things common and uncommon, by fire and air, by water and wine, by salt and oil together, By the great Goddess bless and protect thee in this magick circle.'

Now the H.P. will anoint the person on his left and repeat the words again. Each person will anoint the person on his or her left until the whole circle has been anointed. Now each new candidate will go through an Aura Blessing.

Each candidate will add his or her amulet to the Totem Staff. This amulet represents the Dedicate. This Totem may be used in various rituals for various purposes. It may be carried in a procession.

The Priest lights the central candle on the tree. Other candidates and participants will each hold their own taper she/he says:

"We come before you as one of your own. Fill our lives with powerful magick both within this magick circle and within our lives. Use us a channel for bringing your light to the great Circle of all life on this planet. We come from the same star, to be reunited once again in the timeless times of destiny.

"I am ready to birth my magickal self into this fellow and into my life. 'So mote it be."

"We are the Circle within the Circle,

links in the Circle of life.

Without us there would be no gods,

and without the gods we would sot be.' (Memorize)

The following "Oath of Kinship" will be recited line by line by the HPS and then repeated by all of the participants

I am ready to birth my magickal self into this fellow and into my life.

I vow my loyally, respect and kinship with the people here that I am bonding to.

By this staff of art and by the umbilical cord, which binds us together, I vow to support my new magickal family.

I will strive to assist any brothers or sisters of my clan who may be in need.

I further promise to support them in their quest in any way I can, and to never betray their trust in me.

I will strive to walk in balance and grow in wisdom and understanding.,

I will strive to fulfill my commitments to this fellowship.

I vow that all ritual magick that we celebrate together shall remain in trust and confidence, and that I shall always keep my own counsel regarding my new magickal family.

I will keep the workings of this Coven, the meetings, the names, the counsels, the meetings places, the magick's, and the interactions of this fellowship secret; for the good of all.

I further vow that if I should resign from this fellowship, I will continue to keep such activities private.

I will do so with honor to this fellowship and myself and in a proper 'rite of passage',

The ways of the Ancients I vow to carry on.

I take these oaths of kinship, in the names of my kings-people, past, present and future, and in the presence of the 'Mighty Ones' to whom all vows are sacred.
