Laws
1. All new students shall be required to take the introductory classes with Enchanted World. All students shall read at least five of the books on their reading list before they may dedicate. No student may initiate before they have been a dedicate for at least a year and a day.
2. All student and member of the group are encouraged to practice their Craft as a solitary in addition to participation in the group, they should feel free to do so, providing their rites would in no way interfere with the practices or rituals of the group. If the practitioner has been working on a personal magick within the group, such as a healing, or a personal nature, the member should feel free to continue such practices on their own. If the magick done in the coven, for a group purpose, then the practitioners should not do any further ritual work for that purpose, less it disturb the energy of the group magick already set forth.
I3. f any member of the group wishes to practice their Craft with another person who is not a member of the coven, but is also not a member of any other magickal group, they may do so, providing the rites and rituals of the coven are kept private, and the magicks they work shall have no connection to the rest of the coven. If they begin practicing magick regularly with more than one other person, outside of the group, that could constitute another working coven, and therefore should be taken up in council as soon as possible.
4. All students/apprentices shall keep a book with a record of their lessons, pathworks, rituals, and achievements. This book is called their Shadows.
5. All students shall write and lead a circle for the other members of the group at the end of their introductory classes. This is usually referred to as the 'students circle'. All members should attend. Within a month after their student circle, each student shall be called into council, so that the members may get a clearer sense of the student's motivations, interests, problems, compatibility with the rest of us, and the direction in which the student seems headed. At this council it is also advisable that the students ask members questions which trouble them, or which need some clarification. Early councils with the students can head off problems which may ensue later on.
6. All students shall be encouraged to study on their own, attend esoteric lectures, read recommended books, and take correspondence courses which come highly recommended.
7. No student dedicating shall belong to any other working coven.
8. No student or member of the coven shall ever discuss any of the workings or activities of the group with anyone who is not a member.9. All guests shall be informed of the type of circle, and encouraged to wear appropriate garb. This need not be uncomfortable for the guest. Something different than regular street clothes is preferred. Guests should be encouraged to participate in the ritual by wearing garb. Wearing street clothes deters from the ritual, and makes the guest and members feel out of place. Dark moon circles will be performed skyclad.
No guest shall be invited to moon circles. If they (the guest) are the focus of circle/magick then they are not guest!.
Guests shall not be invited to the Sabats of, Imbolg, Beltain, Lamas, and Samhain are not due to there nature.
Personal tools should not be handled by others unless permission is granted.
Any initiate of any degree, shall be considered a HPS or HP, however it is not necessary to use words such as Lady or Lord, etc. Such titles sound quite dated and foreign especially to Americans. Any members running a circle may be called the High Priestess or HP for that particular event.
Dedicates or initiates whose attendance is irregular, do not fulfill their commitments, or who are inconsistent in their interest, shall be questioned as to intent. If they do not come, or wish to come, they shall be asked to resign. yes"> Dedicates who leave permanently will have their totems removed from the staff, and burn their cords. Students who do not fulfill their requirements and commitments shall be dismissed.
Members who move away, or are no longer able to attend regular rituals, because of circumstances beyond their control, (move, health, distance, career-change, care of sick family member, new baby, etc.) shall state their intentions to the members. If they still wish to remain formally connected to the group they may retain their membership status, and attend circles when or if they are able. However if it is permanent and they wish to completely disconnect from the circle, then their wishes will be respected. yes"> They may attend some future festivals as a guest.
No student/apprentice or member of the coven shall ever give the location, address, or phone number of another student or member of coven, or of the Covenstead to anyone outside the group, without the permission of the group or the person involved.
No student/apprentice or member shall ever give an interview with the "media" or any other public forum, (pagan gatherings excluded) where the name of the group, names of the people in the group, their place of employment, their membership in the Craft, or location of the covenstead is mentioned, without permission of the coven. Neither shall any description of their rituals be discussed, without the permission of the coven. Nor shall the person publicly announce their membership in the group in the media or in any other public reference, without coven’s permission. If they do, members will deny all knowledge of this person, and they would immediately be banished from the Coven. To do any of these things would be a terrible breach of trust.
Please don't over indulge the night before a circle, the circles can be strenuous, and long, and you should be at your best to perform magick. No member or student shall come to circles or classes under the influence of alcohol or mind-altering drugs, nor shall anyone leave a circle or feast in such a manner. If you drink too much plan on spending the night at the covenstead. Anyone involved in an accident while driving under the influence, coven after leaving a rituals will be called before the council. >Human sacrifices will be reinstated!
20. Dedicates and Initiates should never discuss private or personal coven matters with students/apprentices. It will be considered a breach of trust. Students may not understand the whole picture, and may come away feeling confused. If a student has heard something that bothers or confuses them, they should discuss it immediately with the High Priestess.
21. Dating between members and students/apprentices has the potential to cause grief, and may cause serious and unforeseen problems in the future. Sexual attractions that bloom within a pagan coven may dim in the cold light of the real world, leaving the ordinary disillusionment of a broken relationship. Often one of the duo feels compelled to leave the group in order to avoid the other, and this becomes a loss to the person as well as the group. In addition, other members can often be drawn into the predicament, being expected to take sides. Although these relationships can work out, it's better to bond in the real world, and come into the Craft, than the reverse! Sexual encounters between members is not considered dating.
A second degree initiate in good standing may start a daughter coven elsewhere. S/he may not initiate another anyway under such circumstances. They must remain in contact with the primary coven, reporting there progress, and attending the primary covens rituals as much as possible. Third degree initiation is expected to occurs as soon as time permits. This accelerated schedule is normally offered to a working couple that has been studing and developing rituals together.
