On the left, HM the King of the Belgians accompanies his fiancée, Doña Fabiola de Mora y Aragón, out of the plane which brought her from Madrid to a cold Brussels. On the ground, a child gave Doña Fabiola some flowers, like one had done in 1926 when Princess Astrid, already civilly married to Prince Leopold, Duke of Brabant, arrived in Belgium in the Swedish destroyer “Fylgia”. Two historic moments, for two women who marked the Belgian history of the 20th century.

The arrival of the future queen was the first act before the wedding and made hundreds come to the streets to see the royal car pass by. In the image, the King and Doña Fabiola leave in airport towards the Palace amidst the great expectation that had been generated at the arrival.
