Kernow
Kernow is the old name for Cornwall, the most beautiful place on earth (in my totally unbiased opinion). It's the very southwest tip of England (the Lizard being the southernmost point; Land's End is the westernmost) and has this wild, craggy coastline that I love. Not to mention moors, woodland, rivers and hills, although it's probably most famous in Britain for its pasties and abroad for featuring in many Arthurian legends, such as Tristan and Iseult. Here, I'm just going to give you a couple of pictures that weren't attached to the coves already in the tour, but deserved to be seen.
This is one of the coves at Whitsands, in north Cornwall and off the Lizard altogether. Traditionally sunsets are gorgeous, vividly coloured things, in hues of strawberry, raspberry and apricot. But on this June evening, the sunset was silver....
Remember those pictures of Kynance cove, with grey sky and clouds? Earlier that day, we'd been to Coverack and the sun was out in full force. Coverack is mainly a tourist beach, lined with shops rather than cliffs, but around the corner from the main point, there is this little spot, with a few houses braving Cornish weather and coastal erosion to be right on the waters edge.
