After the Hatching of Rhyath's First Clutch
[This takes place just after a hatching that Pyrene was watching from the stands. The PC Impressees were Annalee to blue Erranth, Areiah to gold Ysbryth, Conlan to bronze Alarth, Kamaria to green Nekomieth, Risli to green Zaqith, Thesy to blue Sardrinth, Tylendel to bronze Cairhoth and Zirade to brown Azrieth. I was sharing the computer with my brother this evening: he was good enough not to interrupt me during the actual hatching, but afterwards he understandably wanted to get online himself. So this log is punctuated by disconnecting and idling on my part (usually just as it was getting interesting, :̃).]
Living Caverns
The rough-hewn majesty of this cavern far outpaces any delight in the multitudes of curves
that form its enclosure. The glabrous grey granite is shot through with translucent
obsidian, lending subtly-veined sparkle to the walls and the foot-trodden smoothness of
the floor that shows centuries-old placements of the scarred trestle tables; carven
hollows give homes for the glow baskets and the coat-pegs that line the walls. No mosaics,
no painting, no tiles: just a few well-done tapestries mark the pathway that lead to the
kitchen to the north and the inner caverns to the west, and frame the nighthearth's stew
and snacks, while a heavier strip of oiled canvas shields the unwary from the wind in the
bowl.
Jezabel exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Gideon ducks into the kitchen for a moment, and returns with a large tray holding two pitchers of cider, one hot, one cold, as well as some fresh klah. He disappears once more and returns with dozens of mugs.
"Come and get it!" Gideon calls out to the gathering throng.
B'ran waves to one and then another. "Hi!" he responds to Gideon, another wave and a nod to Koryn, Jezabel. Bye, Jez. Hm. "Well met, all of you! High Reaches welcomes you." With it's own welcome wagon bronzer. yah.
Enya strides quietly in from the Central Bowl.
Sabrina walks in from the Central Bowl.
Pyrene leans back in a chair and /sighs/! "I am very, very happy." And she's not going to be welcoming because she forgets manners easily. just as well b'ran's here then.
Gideon smiles to Pyrene. "Would you like anything?" he asks her.
D'ante walks in from the Central Bowl.
Evan glides silently in from the Central Bowl.
Koryn makes miniscule waves to everyone until he gets his glass of hot cider, heck, hot /anything/ will make him happy right now!
Evan moves over to the klah pots and pours himself a mug which he immediately takes a sip of, before looking about for those he knows.
Lani enters with D'ante.
Dione grins and goes right up to Gideon with her little hands out ready to get a nice hot mug of cider.
Pyrene blushes slightly, Gideon's probably best off not knowing what she'd like from him. Instead she murmurs, "Cooki-- I mean redfruit juice please." she's mature beyond her turns, oh yes.
Hail, hail, the gang's all here. Even the proud parents, now. D'ante enters, Lani on one arm. He makes for the bar, but is stalled by hand-shaking well-wishers. Laughing comments that he'll never remember tomorrow are bantered about and that lop-sided grin is as broad as the day is long.
Gideon smiles, pouring a mug of cider for Dione, then handing it to her, warning, "Don't burn your tongue."
Dione beams and gives him a little nod of thanks before she finds an empty seat at a table and climbs up into it.
B'ran waves at D'ante. "Great clutch, D'ante." Wading through the thickening throng, he /finally/ finds Gideon and his smorghasbord of whatever it is he has. "What have you for us?" He smiles at Pyrene, but Lani doesn't even get so much as a glace. It the males that make the clutch, see?
Gideon grins at Pyrene. "Redfruit juice it tis, las," he replies before dashing back into the kitchen to return with not only the juice, but a cookie as well.
Sabrina gets herself some cider, then quickly scans for someone she knows.
Evan moves over to the Starcraft Journeywoman, "You're starcraft, aren't you?
Gideon nods again to B'ran. "I can get ya whatever it tis you're wantin'," he replies with a smile.
Koryn grabs up a mug of hot cider and sips at it, standing by the hearth and looking at the others in the room, not really knowing any of them so remaining quiet and just enjoying the warmth.
Charis quietly strides in from the Central Bowl.
Sabrina smiles at Evan and gives a polite node, "yes I am"
Shanahan walks in from the Central Bowl.
Evan nods, "THought so... I don't get the chance to meet all of you, even tho our crafts are so close." He notices Charis enter, "Char! Good to see you. Any of yours impress?"
Pyrene takes the redfruit juice and sips daintily. It's a good thing Conlan and Areiah are now safely installed in the weyrling barracks, otherwise they might have a few choice words to say. Gideon is smiled at again, and a soft "Thank you" is cooed. Yes, cooed. Oh dear.
Koryn wows as he spots the ladyholder enter, and grins, waving, "Miss Charis! Want some hot cider?"
Quietly, as always, Charis makes way in, but grin is just /beamed/ on quiet woman's face. Yes yes, Lady Holder is happy tonight, green eyes spy Evan with another /beam/, "Not just anyone, Kamaria did!" beam. better than hers, her best friend.
Gideon smiles once more at Pyrene, then is distracted by all the requests coming his way.
Evan raises a brow, "Kamaria? Don't know her."
Shanahan steps in quietly with Charis, looking around at everyone a small nod is given to Evan, as he steps towards them,
Evan nods, briefly, to Shanahan.
B'ran wriggles his brows at Gideon. "You sure about that, sir?" He pulls at the leather about his neck. "Kyleigh's stuck in the weyr tonight. Morning sickness again. What I want to know is why they call it that when it's a perpetual thing, you know?" At least with the women /B'ran/ knows, anyway.
Lani sucks a breath, imagining B'ran strung from the roof by his ankles. It's enough to restore the smile to her eyes. Ignore her, will he? "D'ante's Infernoth certainly proved his worth, B'ran," she says sweetly. Dharmath, on the other hand...
Pyrene watches Gideon for a bit then gets distracted as names of impressees are mentioned, "Zirade impressed!" she informs the room. One nanny down....
Charis gives quiet grin, "She's a dear dear friend of mine - a healer. SHe impressed that minty green dragonet." she responds, as she makes way furhter into cavern.
Gideon grins at B'ran. "Well, sir, if I don' have it yet, I'll find it for ya."
Koryn hmms as he sees Charis far too swamped to notice him, and goes back to sipping at his cider, but then smiles as he looks around the room at all the people, even if he doesn't know them, it still feels like a party!
Evan nods, "A healer no longer. Atleast, not primarially." He sighs softly, "I must say that looking back on things I'm glad I didn't impress. I would have missed too much."
Another nod is given, "Yes, now a /weyrling/! So happy for Kam.." Charis murmers again before smiling with a nod, "I never knew you stood on the sands, Evan."
Shanahan turns his eyes to the rest of the group, then to Evan and Charis, he chuckles a bit at Charis' obvious happiness.. "How have you been Evan?"
Evan nods, "Aye... twice. Besides Nuff, in fact, although she didn't impress at that hatching.
"Thanks, B'ran." D'ante accepts the other bronzerider's congratulations with a pleased nod, then turns proud eyes back to share his own with the weyrwoman. "Rhyath did a great job didn't she? I think Infernoth's disappointed they've all Hatched now." He makes his way to a wineskin, inspects it; asks: "Wine?" The stamp is brushed with a sleeve hem and peered at. "Benden, but I can't read the Vintner. Red anyhow. Anyone for a glass?" He includes nearby company in the offer.
Hey. Hey. Dharmath may not have sired any clutches in his almost 20 turns, but that doesn't make the pair impotent. Good things are never ripe before their time. B'ran's already been hung from the roof. Several times. And painted purple. Still, he ignores Lani. But he takes the nearest glass of Benden White from a passing server and raises it to the ceiling. "To Dante and Infernoth!" he toasts.
Pyrene listens to the adults talk idly, grinning inanely away to herself. She spots Lani and D'ante and waves a congratulations to them. They had very smart kids on the whole. Or to be more accurate, their dragons did.
Sabrina drinks some of her cider then backs up against a wall and tries to scan the room.
Koryn chuckles slightly as he listens, hearing the offer of wine but saying nothing, still hung on that drudge-thang, wine's an upperclass thing, especially benden!
Gideon takes one of the skins and pours himself a mug of Benden red. He then moves away from the table and off to the side.
Mirra walks in from the Central Bowl.
Evan sighs, slightly, "The memories are definately bittersweet. I wouldn't go back and not stand, but I'm certianly glad I didn't impress."
Lani snags one of the glasses for herself and very nearly cracks it with the tightness of her grip and the stare she gives B'ran. With only B'ran's testimony as to Dharmath's...potential, she's not going to lose sleep over this bronzerider, and so, holding her glass out for filling, she echoes the toast, "To Infernoth and D'ante." Her smile, though thin, is warm for Pyrene.
Ashan toddles, or is carried, in from the Central Bowl.
Charis wakes up.
Koryn glances over at Evan as if he's strange, but then thinks about it and supposes there are reasons, and says "At least ya had the chance ta stand tho, that's an honor y'cant compare ta!"
D'ante splashes the red into Lani's glass, and then his own. "And to Lani and Rhyath, especially." And to that amended toast, he lifts his glass.
Ashan wanders in, looking a bit sleepy after all the late night excitement.
Gideon raises his own glass, joining in on the toast. "Lani and Rhyath!" he shouts.
Enya blinks abit as she is called awake back to the reality of Pern.
Koryn hmms, there are a few here he recognizes, there's that rider with that fearful blue dragon! he offers a small wave to Enya when she looks his way.
Enya goes home.
Pyrene waves her redfruit juice, spilling most of it, "And Ysbryth, Azrieth, Alarth, Erranth, Zaqith, Sardrinth, Cairhoth..." this could take awhile.
Dione spots another girl only a bit older than her and gives a wave from her seat at the table.
Gideon smiles over at Pyrene, then nods in agreement.
"Glennth, nekomieth..." Pyrene's memory is failing her so she finishes with "And the rest!" And drinks that trickle remaining in her glass.
Shanahan looks to Ari.. "Would you like a glass of wine Ari?" he asks softly...
Charis smiles with a nod, "I've never stood. Though fate does take it's twists and turns.." she responds before deep green eyes glance to Shan to offer a nod, "I'd like that, thanks Shan."
Indeed it may take a while, but D'ante's not objecting to toasting each and every one of the 35 new weyrlings. Several times, if need be. "To them all!" He clinks his glass against those nearby and then drinks deeply; Sands' heat and the awkwardness of rusty social skills have given him quite a thirst.
Evan Nods to Charis, "Well, enjoy yourself. I'm off to try to find Nuffers."
Sarali walks in from the Central Bowl.
Ashan waves to Dione as she sees her waving at her. She makes her way toward the table where the younger girl is, still looking around at all the adults present for a particular one. Or two. "Hi!"
Charis nods, "I'm stil keeping eye out for Kam..that..Nekomieth, wasn't it? absolutely gorgous!" she can't help but gush to self with grin, even quiet woman is obviously thrilled for friend.
Nuff arrives from deeper in the Weyr.
Sarali looks around curiously
Koryn decides to get bold, something about being here at the Weyr makes him take a lot of new tacts that just aren't normal for him, and makes his move, heading for the wine glasses and snagging one, trying to look 'officious and important' as it were so that no one questions his actions. ...and tries to keep out of Charis's line of sight as he does this.
Shanahan moves over to the drink table and gets a couple glasses of white, he takes a sip out of his glass as he turns to move back, he hands a glass to Charis.. "Here you go.." taking another drink quickly..
L'shil bounds in from the Central Bowl.
Evan moves over towards Nuff, "Well, Nuffers, you've come a long way from the young girl bouncing on the sands beside me all those years ago, congratulations."
L'shil strolls through, all contrived innocence. He's not planning anything, nope...
L'shil steps into the shadows that lead back into the Weyr.
Dione sticks her hand into her pocket and comes back out with a bubbly, quietly she offers it to the girl.
Sarali quietly moves out of the way, shrinking towards the shadows.
Sabrina exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Nuff meanders up fromt he caverns, dusting the last of the Sands' sand from her sisals. "Nuffers?" The weyrwoman raises one bro and stiffles a giggle, stepping up to meet Evan. "Evan, is that really you? You look so... old."
Lani feels her cheeks staining, but she lifts her glass at each name. "It went well...It did." No need for healers, in fact. As far as Lani noticed.
Pyrene yawns hugely and with one more delighted wave to everybody, slips off to her cot.
Kynance slips out of ::between:: and pauses to take in the situation.
Pyrene goes home.
Evan raises a brow and scanns Nuff's form, "And you don't you ancient Tanner? You still offering to make purple jumpsuits with bells and a flap? My daughers might like one, if they were dark blue."
B'ran is going to get it, yep. But he /does/ wink over at Lani, now. In spite of that stare. See? She has his attention. The progenitor of the lower caverns swallows hard. Oh shells. "Um... And Lani?" And that gold lump, whatshernameth. Smiling wanly, he lowers his glass and sips, just a might. That's when he sees L'sil. And cousin Nufflie, she of the purple dye and sheers. he touches his head self-consciously. /Two/ of them here, now.
Sarali watches silently from the shadows, shyly
Shanahan turns his eyes towards Koryn, he knows he has seen him somewhere before, small grin comes as he figures out where, he moves over near him.. "How did the herders trail go?" he asks him..
Ashan's eyes light up at the conspiritorial offering of the bubbly and she takes it as she slides onto a seat. "I *knew* we'd have bubblies. Always do at a hatching." She takes a tiny nibble. "Still gooey, too!" That last bit might have been a bit too loud so she sinks down further in her seat to avoid any stray adult eyes. "Thanks."
Gideon sits off to the side and watches everyone. All so happy.
Sarali heads north into the redolent depths of the kitchens.
Koryn eeps as Shanahan comes over to him, but then decides not to hide the wine glass and pretend he's supposed to have it. he's plenty old enough no one would complain, it's just that drudge-mindset thang! and he smiles widely, "Oh, hello! trail's gone very good! 'm Guessin we head back startin tamorra mornin."
Charis nods, taking glass of wine with smile of thanks as she pauses, studying crowd gathered from o'er glass lip as she takes a small sip. Just watching for short moment before moving to socialize.
[And a few hours later that same evening...]
"I can't wait to talk to him," Aislynn says softly, her little blond head
nestled into C'lan's shoulder. "I bet he's really smart, and soft." Soft is
important, of course. Like Con's shoulder.
Dione exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Scaflowne nods, "So you lived on Ista all your life until you impressed?"
Shanahan looks at Charis, then gets a little grin as he stands and moves over to the food
table, cookies, bubblies...he takes a plate full and moves behind the ladies as he sets
the plate before them, he then steps away, leaving those two to chat for a while..
"He's pretty soft, yeah," C'lan replies, eyeing the girl indulgently. Kind of
rewarding to be adopted by someone.
Kamaria nods, setting her fork down on the edge of a nearly half empty plate.
"Sorry..." A few sniffles, and customary grin is in place again. "I guess I
am...and I'm tired too." The last is added in a most apologetic tone. "Thank you
for eating with me..."
Pyrene can't sleep, small wonder. So she's back to find what's happening in the caverns,
unfortunately for Conlan and Areiah who promptly get the full force of her
congratulations.
K'lis nods, reaching over and clasping a hand around the pitcher. Flicking his gaze over
he pours a second mug. "Mostly," he nods to Sca. "Though I did spend some
time in southern, too."
Yes yes, sweets. Good Boy. Charis tosses a smile of thanks and cookies and bubblies are
promptly inserted in Kamaria's hand. Charis is trained at this job, ayup. "It's
Okay...you g'on and get some rest...I"ll come back and visit you in afew days? Maybe
can even meet this Nekomieth for myself.." she offers smile and nod, "Getting
alittle weary myself.'
Aislynn will help oil him, and scritch him, and bathe him... She is a very helpful child.
Con's sure lucky. "Tell me his name again?" She remembers, of course. Gold
dragons never forget. But...
Shanahan moves over near some of the others, not saying a whole lot, searching the room
for someone he recongizes..
Scaflowne tilts her head thoughtfully, "Really? How was it? I've been to many places
in Northern Pern but I doubt I'll ever get to southern..."she shrugs taking a small
sip of her cooling klah.
"Alarth," Con replies, almost reverently. And he does not, no he does not, puff
up at Pyrene's approach, nope, no way, no how.
Kamaria rises slowly, nodding her appreciation. "Thankyou, thankyou..." Do you
hear an echo? "Oh, and of course you'll meet her! Probably not till she's a bit
bigger..." The thought is pondered briefly before Kamaria bobs a curtsey.
"Thanks again friends..." Stiffling a yawn, the weyrling heads out, waving to a
few familiar faces (and even some unfamiliar ones) on her way.
Kamaria exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
"Alarth." Aislynn sniffs the name, swirls it around her tongue, swishes it and
then swallows, smiling her approval. "Alarth," she says again. Yep. She likes
it. "I like it."
"It's a pretty name, isn't it?" C'lan asks, sure that it is just perfect. He
thinks it is, anyway. "Hey, Pyrene," he says, teasing, "there are cookies
over here without nuts."
K'lis nods, sitting down the pitcher and taking up his mug again. Ah, the warmth of it.
"It was nice. Warmer that Ista, which I wouldn't have thought possible before going
there. I spent most of my time around the Big Bay and Irene island..." The new klah
just sits in his mug though, his lips not going for it yet. "Where've you been in the
north?"
Charis beams a smile after friend before sighing, settling back in seat with a yawn
herself, one small cookie is taken to munch on as she sits.
Pyrene beams at Conlan, "You impressed a bronze!" And that colour is said with
considerable satsfaction and also relief. Guess why? "Cookies?" Ohh, things just
keep getting better!
Shanahan moves back over to Charis and places his fingers on her shoulders before
whispering.. "She ok?"
Aislynn yeps, sitting straight, watching Pyrene and Con together. "He's gonna be the
best bronzerider /ever/," she says proudly.
Charis nods, "She'll be fine...more than fine now.." she assures with a yawn,
"What you say we head out as well?"
Shanahan gives a nod and takes her hand as she stands.. "Yeah, we can get back to the
hold..."
C'lan's far too ecstatic to worry about why Pyrene is so happy. "Yeah, come get
some." Cheeks flush, only a little bit, at Aislynn's comment. "Hey, I might be
all right," he says haltingly.
Charis goes home.
Shanahan walks out.
Scaflowne hmms thoughtfully, "Well mostly small holds...."she trails off a
frowning slightly, "the caravan I used to travel with didn't like going to big
holds...I did go to Ford...and Half Circle...Ruatha thought we never stayed
long.."she shrugs.
Pyrene gives Aislynn a huge hug. Share the joy, "And Areiah impressed gold-- and you
know what they say about clutchmates...." Actually Pyrene doesn't, but may as well
demonstrate that they aren't going to get the least iota more respect from her. Cookies
are taken and munched.
C'lan blinks. "No; what do they say?" He really is curious. "I never heard
what they say about clutchmates at Igen."
Aislynn squeezes Pyrene back breathlessly, too proud of her 'dopted person to even speak
at the moment.
K'lis nods slightly, clearly intersted. "You traveled with a caravan?
Traders...?" he asks, finally lifting mug to lips once more.
Iliya walks in from the Central Bowl.
Iliya heads north into the redolent depths of the kitchens.
Scaflowne looks down into the dark klah in the mug nodding, "Mostly...I..grew up with
them....traders then I travelled with gypsies or travelling folk...they are called
different things in different places..."
Pyrene stops mid-crunch, "Oh, ummm, you know.... How they... pick out each others
leathers?" Why not?
"Pick out each others leathers," Con repeats. "I didn't know that." He
solemnly hands Pyrene a cookie. She surely deserves it.
Aislynn wants another cookie. So she gets up and goes to grab one, not at all shy any
more, in this, her second home, and lets Conlan and Pyrene chat for a bit.
Pyrene takes the cookie smugly. Bronzeriders giving her cookies. she's going up in the
world, "You'll have to start thinking about something for Thesy." she says
straight faced.
K'lis nods slightly, eyes wandering around the cavern for a moment. "Did you find
yourself welcome in the places you travelled to?" K'lis wonder, thinking of those
bygone days.
Scaflowne shrugs, "Mostly...I suppose...although I didn't have much contact with
people in the holds...I wasn't allowed"
"Thesy? I hadn't really thought about it. What colors would she look good in?"
C'lan rubs his cheek with a thick-fingered hand. "I mean, I guess she'll be really
into blue now."
Pyrene nods, "Blue diamonds down the sides of those legs, and the rest in black. That
would look... sexy." Oh Faranth, she's started thinking about sexy clothes now.
Heaven help the weyr, Pyrene's growing up.
K'lis blinks slightly, gaze finding it's way back to Scaflowne. "Really? That's too
bad... I thought that meeting people was one of the best parts of traveling."
Aislynn is now just wandering around the cavern, giving Con and Pyrene their moments
together. Humdedum. Her lips pucker and she blows, and there's a little whistle. And she
spies Lani again. Busy? Hm. She crinkles her nose in a grin and waves hopefully. Is that
goldrider staring off into space, or does she see?
C'lan blinks. "Sexy? Why would she want to look sexy?" Help? He scours the
cavern, looking for, more, er, comfortable conversation.
Lani pulls herself away from an enthusiastic parent, just avoiding bruising. The man
doesn't know his own strength. In his son, it'll be a boon. Finally, she breaks through
onto the Weyrlings; her destination all along. "Evening, riders. My duties to
Ista," she adds formally, before slipping into a seat and letting her brows climb
toward her scalp. "Sexy...Mmhmm?"
Zandia comes down from the workrooms above.
Pyrene pokes C'lan with a sigh, "No! /You/ want her to look sexy!" She remembers
a certain kiss.
Koryn comes down from the workrooms above.
Scaflowne smiles a bit sadly as she nods, "Oh it is...I just got stuck with unsavory
travelling companions early on..."she shrugs.
C'lan blinks. "I do? But she's a bluerider now." Deep breath, Con.
Koryn comes back up into the cavern from outside, chilled to the bone and bee-lines over
to the hearth along with Zandia.
Zandia stands in front of the hearth and stamps her feet, while eyeing the klah pot.
"I don't know what I want first, Klah, or heat" she chuckles, teeth chattering.
Pyrene beams radiantly. Is he finally learning sense? "That's true! Maybe you should
pick out Zirade's leathers instead." Ah she can see it now, "The Nanny and the
Nemesis" a sweeping romance against the background of a world gone mad. Namely a
weyr. Fair description.
K'lis nods understanding, taking a quarter inch or so off the level of the mug as he does
so. "I mostly traveled alone. Found I liked it best that way. Not that I'm
anti-social or anything, just liked traveling better that way.
Koryn grins, and says "I'll get the klah." and shucks off the blanket over a
chair to quickly pour out two mugs, taking one back to Zandia while sipping at the other.
"Zirade?" Con is equally clueless about her. "Well, I don't think we are
supposed to be involved with anybody."
Koryn reaches up to slip the blanket off Zandia's shoulders and set it over a chair as
well, then with his one free hand he moves to give her a brisk backrub to shake off the
cold.
Scaflowne nods, "I understand....I do it now...at the time I just didn't have a
choice really...I was too young to be on my own and later I just fell in with the wrong
kind of people.."
Zandia takes the mug with shaky hands and quickly takes a sip, then gasps "OH! That's
/hot/!
Turning into her chair, Lani brightens, "Aislynn...I didn't see you there...S'lor's
father had me in his...ah grips."
Adianna arrives from deeper in the Weyr.
Koryn grins at Zandia, "Hot is good, but careful anyways!"
Frost blinks in from ::between::!
Zandia grins and nods, continuing to sip, but much more carefully. Finally feeling like
her backside is getting warm, she turns around to roast the other side.
Aislynn tightens up her little body with pleasure and flies over to the goldrider.
"C'lan impressed!" she says proudly, pointing at her 'dopted person and
wriggling her glee. "A /bronze/!" As though the weyrwoman, clutchmother,
wouldn't know that.
Pyrene stares at Con, "What?? Who searched you? Don't they know what you're like with
girls?" And boys for that matter, certainly e'ren seemed keen on that infamous night.
Klahmont suddenly disappears ::between::!
Koryn shifts around with Zandia, continuing the backrub as he turns around himself,
seeming more interested in her welfare at the moment than his own.
Frost suddenly disappears ::between::!
C'lan swallows. "Um, Nuff and D'renn asked me to Stand," he says haltingly.
"I guess they know about me and girls, whatever there is to know." And, for the
record, it's not much.
K'lis unclasps one hand from the mug and slides it onto the shinny surface of his
leathers. The first couple of clasps on the outer jacket are undone as he is finaly warm
in the cavern. A bit of a change of subject. "Has it been raining all day up
here?" His curiocity gets the best of him.
Zandia sighs and enjoys the backrub. Winking back at Koryn, she chuckles "You're a
real prize...Taida is rather lucky, I think"
Scaflowne smiles shrugging, "sorry I couldn't tell you I only arrived late today
though that seems to be the case.."
Pyrene shakes her head. "Are you supposed not to think about girls at all? Or just
not have any luck with them?" The latter Connie always managed rather well. She's not
sure he's capable of the former.
Koryn chuckles and nods, not really saying anything, but after a while once enough warmth
has seeped into his bones he sets the mug down and moves his other hand to assist with the
backrub.
C'lan busies himself taking the runnertail out of his hair and retailing it. "Um. I
think I am just not supposed to /do/ anything with girls." It's not nice to talk
about a boy's luck with girls in public, you know.
Pyrene spots Adianna then and rushes over to her, dragging her back to where C'lan is,
"How are you?" C'lan's in trouble, lets hope Adi's better.
Zandia relaxes as she finally starts feeling warm enough to move. Chuckling, she says
"I'm starting to feel human again. How bout you? Warming up any?"
Koryn mms and smiles as he stands there continuing the backrub gently, and says in a
noticably soft voice "Lots warmer."
Adianna akks and tries not to limp, desert gal isn't going to admit her feet are a little
tender. "Right as the rain, Pyrene." she says blinking with with surprise,
especiayally since she remembered Pyrene's name. Warm? No , Adi took a nice walk on the
cold ground outside...to cool her feet. "how fare you Conlan...er.... C'lan."
got to remember that too, she says with a smile.
C'lan smiles sheepishly and shakes his head. "Sounds strange to me too," he
admits.
Zandia tries to hide a grin behind her mug, then remembers she's facing the hearth and
just lets it go. Sighing, she says "I suppose I should be getting back to the tent
and start packing stuff up to make ready to leave. Cold as it is, I really hate to
leave" she sighs again.
Pyrene didn't notice Adianna's feet, far too hyper for that. It's just serendipity that
she pushes her in the direction of a comfy chair, "C'lan doesn't suit you, that's
why. Pity you're not a girl so that you could have become Coni." Not that anyone
asked, but since when was Pyrene shy about offering an opinion.
C'lan shudders involuntarily. "I dont' think I would have wanted to be Coni, even if
I were a girl."
Koryn ahhs and sighs, nodding, "Aye, prolly best if'n we all packed an' got ready for
the trail again."
Lani just disconnects. Sleep is for wusses.
Scaflowne takes a sip of her now only slightly warm klah looking around for a moment
absentmindedly humming a soft tune to herself.
Adianna erfs and ...sits..no choice really got ferfed off balance. "Thank you? "
is offere do to pyrene for the chair...she thinks. "Coni?" she tries to grasp
hold of the conversation going about back and forth.
Zandia nods and drains the last of her mug. "Now that I'm warm, I hate going back
into that cold, but at least the barn is a /little/ bit warm" she chuckles.
K'lis makes a slight O with his mouth, then shrugs slighlty. "I was just wondering.
It was raining down in Ista when I left. Hoped for some better weather, but no luck there.
C'lan just shakes his head. "Don't even try, Adianna-- I haven't understood anything
she's said since she wanted me to dress Thesy up in sexy leathers."
Pyrene shrugs, she can't help it if he's in denial about what his real name should be.
"Coni," she nods to Adianna, "His impression name, honourific thingy. don't
you think it's better then C'lan?"
Koryn grins and nods, "Leastways once in bed, there's plenty'a blankets," and
steps away, grabbing his mug and draining it too, "Welp, lets get to it! Race
ya!" and grins at Zandia as he darts out to the bowl.
Koryn exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Zandia sets her mug down and races after Koryn

Seems Lani's just too spacey after the hatching to pay attention. So Aislynn meanders back
over in Con's direction, grabbing up two more cookies on the way, handing him one as she
sits back beside him. "That one has nuts, I think," she says, twisting her hair
in her fingers idly.
Scaflowne chuckles softly, "Well it can't rain all the time...and I don't mind it too
much although up here it makes things pretty cold.."
Adianna blinks, "Thesy? " in sexy leathers? "Um..well.. I've always been
fond of just calling him Con?" she says though it comes out more like a question. She
looks from Pyrene to C'lan and back again, "What's that about thesy"
"Thanks, Aislynn," replies C'lan, grateful to her for the cookie and so many
other things. "Con is good," he says, with fervor. "Con is just fine."
Pyrene enlists Aislynn's opinion on the matter, she's smart enough. "Do you prefer
c'lan or Coni?" She adds to Adianna by way of coherent explanation, "He kissed
thesy once and now they're clutchmates so he's going to pick out sexy leathers for her and
look at her legs."
Adianna just blushes the color of a ripe raspberry.
Speechless, thy name is C'lan. It's a good thing he already swallowed his mouthful of
cookie, because if he hadn't, everybody would be looking at cookie on Con-tongue.
Pyrene looks at Adianna with some curiousity, "you know... I think D'renn would
rather like you." That face colour certainly suits his taste.
Aislynn likes her 'dopted person, no matter what his name is, so the question puzzles her,
and she just leans into him. "I like him," she says. And she does.
Adianna tries to hide in the chair, the mention of D'renn makes her blush even more
profusely so she seems to glow with it. D'renn and his stories would make /anyone/ blush
most likely. "No." is what she manages to squeak out in answer to pyrene.
Seeming to awake rather suddenly from daydreams, Areiah blinks once, twice, leaning
forward from the table-perch she seemed to somehow find amid the bustle. Sapphire eyes are
brushed at with the back of her hand before she turns toward the nightheart. Klah.
C'lan toys with his new knot, fingers twiddling the bronze ribbon around and around.
Sudden inspiration strikes him, and he wonders of Pyrene, "Would I have to pick out
clothes for you so I could look at your legs if I'd kissed you instead?"
Aislynn munches happily at her cookie, ignoring the current conversation. Kissing is
gross.
Adianna blinks, "CON!"
Almost dropping the mug in her hands, Areiah turns, staring blankly at her friends.
"You kissed Pyrene?" she asks dumbly of C'lan, brow furrowed slightly. This is
what she gets for being so spacey in such a crowd. Confusion.
K'lis nods agreement with Scaflowne, the mug to his lips again. "Aye, that it does.
Especially to a resident of the tropics such as myself." Not that he minds the rain
once in a while. "It would be boring without it somteimes though."
C'lan blinks, puts down his klah mug. "I did /not/ kiss Pyrene," he says flatly.
"I kissed Thesy. You were there, weren't you?"
Scaflowne nods "Actually I enjoy watching the rain most of the time and do have a bad
habit of taking walks in it as long as it's not too cold...that's what I enjoy most about
living in warm climates...not worrying about freezing.."
"Oh. I thought you'd kissed Pyrene after that. I remember that, though, yes."
See? Areiah is slowly regaining her senses. This is a good thing. Shaking her head
slightly, she grins, almost apologetically at the bronzerider; "Sorry, Con. I'm half
asleep here. I think I'm going to go and look in on Ysbryth and then take a walk up to the
galleries or something."
Adianna walks up to Riah, and offers a hug of affection, she'll miss their chats during
riah's weyrlinghood.
C'lan sighs. "Nope, Pyrene thinks I'm gross," he says, shrugging. "And I'll
be along back to the barracks later-- I just want to get some more of Nyara's sweetbread
and talk for a little while." It's the last night out he'll have for a while.
There will be no missed chats. Not if Areiah has her way, anyway. Without a word to
accompany it, the girl wraps her arms tightly around Adianna, simply nodding silently.
Pulling back, slowly, she smiles gently, brushing back an errant lock of hair - not hers,
but her friend's. "Feel like taking a walk?" So much better to do things with
your friends than on your own sometimes. It's really the fresh air she wants. "And
sure. I'll catch up with you then."
Aislynn yawns. Just a little yawn. And she would deny it, yes she would.
Adianna smiles and nods, shy and quite Adi follows Riah out she sniffles and rubs her
nose. You'd think Riah had gotten married and moved away to the southern contitent.
"Okay."
"Long day?" Con wonders gently.
K'lis shurgs, making a slightly sour expression with his features. "Ick," is all
he says for a moment, gaze flicking about before comming back. "I couldn't stand cold
like there is around here for any length of time, I'm afraid."
"Very long day." Areiah replies softly, though a smile touches her lips. Whether
the question was directed at her or not remains to be seen - could've been to the yawning
Aislynn - but she answers regardless. "I'll be up in the galleries if you want
me." And with that, she tugs Adianna out of the cavern and into the bowl.
Areiah exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Adianna exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Scaflowne raises a questioning eyebrow, "Oh? Why are you afraid of it?"she asks
softly.
Aislynn shakes her head. "Nope." She is /not/ sleepy. Nopenopenope.
"Long day for me," Con admits, stifling his own yawn. "But Alarth'll be
asleep for awhile yet, something tells me, so I want to stay up here for a little
while."
K'lis shrugs slightly. "Not afraid, perse, just don't like it." The thought of
living in such a place makes him pull his mug closer.
Aislynn wants to stay too. And she scoots closer to her 'dopted bronzerider, still taking
a bite out of her cookie every now and then. "Alarth's big," she says,
irrelevantly.
Scaflowne ohs then looks around thoughtfully, "I would have to agree with you
although I was born in a hold like this high up in the mountains....but I find living in
such places...restraining"
"And he'll get bigger," Con replies, just as irrelevantly. "He's got huge
shoulders and his wings, well, they're huge." How precise his word choice is.
"He'll be really big, huge, I just know it."
Aislynn nods solemnly, agreeing. He's using words /she/ understands, concepts she can
grasp. Not like /kissing/. Blech. "I bet he's gonna be the biggest dragon ever."
"Definitely." C'lan is just sure of it. "He'll be so big he won't even fit
into the sky."
K'lis mms. "Yeah, I just don't really like it. To accustomed to the heat of Ista and
Southern and all." a slight shrug. "Like I said, I was morn and raised
there."
Aislynn blinks and sits up. Perhaps her 'dopted person's getting a bit full of himself?
"Conlan!" she chides. "The sky is /more/ humongous than /dragons/,
silly..."
C'lan just smiles. "I'm just kidding, Aislynn," he says. "Sorry; that was
kind of dumb, wasn't it? I just feel so happy."
Scaflowne nods smiling thoughtfully, "And yet...you are here..."
Aislynn is so happy too, and impulsively wraps her little arms around C'lan's neck,
pressing her cheek to his. "Me too," she says softly.
K'lis shakes his head, giving a wink over the edge of the mug. "Not I. I'm an /ista/
weyr rider. Chiqueth found me in the right place."
C'lan hugs back, not minding. "It's a good day. A good night."
Scaflowne chuckles,
Pyrene wakes up, she was hyper, then she was asleep. Oh, well, "Hey, Where'd evrybody
go? Coni?" they got the name srted at least, right?
Scaflowne chuckles, "Then what are you doing here where it's cold /and/ rainy?"
Hythe walks in from the Central Bowl.
Nuff trundles in from the Central Bowl.
Hythe slips in...perring about as is looking for someone.
Nuff pokes her tired head in, minus the star-hat, and peers sleepily about the caverns.
C'lan rolls his eyes. "Don't worry, Pyrene; all is right with the world. Would you
like some klah? Warm milk?"
Aislynn doesn't crawl into C'lan's lap, but settles herself right beside him, her little
mouth a wide 'O' for a moment as another yawn grabs her. "Yep," she agrees,
staring into space.
Pyrene sighs at the new rider, "Exactly how old do you think I am?" (tip: don't
go by the way she acts.)
K'lis motions about the cavern in K'lis body language. "I was hear for the hatching
and the feast afterwords of course." No good bluerider would miss a feast after all.
"I plan on heading back for the night."
"I'd like some Klah", says Nuff moving over to join the group, though she does
not climb into anyone's lap either. "Revive an old weyrwoman, C'lan?"
Hythe hears C'lan's voice, then slowly approaches the group. Not wishing to intrude, she
waits for a break in the conversation.
C'lan looks vaguely at Pyrene. "Aren't you, what? Fifteen? Sixteen? You're younger
than I am, right?" Oh, it /has/ been a long candidacy. "Sure, Nuff." And he
rises, gently so as to not bump Aislynn too much, as much for his own protection as
anything. "Sure you don't want anything, Pyrene? How about you, Ais?"
Scaflowne nods taking a sip of her klah..she tends to miss the obvious, "Well...you
don't seem to be eating much..."she looks about sighing, "too bad there's no
music it would have been nice to dance a while.."she shrugs grimacing as she takes a
final sip of her now very much cold klah.
Aislynn would like some more of that lovely wine, thank you. "Benden Red this
time," she says to her 'dopted rider. Not yawning. Not sleepy. No way.
Flarra walks with a quiet grace in from the Central Bowl.
Pyrene blushes. Really and truly. Nothng warms a 14 turn old girl's heart like a bronze
rider thinking she's a few turns older. Even if that rider's the bane of her life,
"I'm 14... " Contented sigh is sent to Nuff, "Enjoy the hatching?"
Noropolo blinks in from ::between::!
Jack gambols in from the Central Bowl.
K'lis shrugs slighlty, "Eh. I had some. Though you're right. Didn't eat as much as I
normally do. Maybe that's not bad thing though?" he asks with a wry smile.
C'lan nods toward Aislynn and slips over to the klah pot, where he refills his own mug and
gets some for both Nuff and Pyrene, even if she didn't ask for any. He selects a darker
grape juice this time and refills Aislynn's glass, too. The little tray is nearly
overladen, but he puts cream and sweetening for the klah on it anyway, then carefully
brings it back to the table. "Here we go."
Jack bursts onto the scene, violet-tinged eyes puffed around the edges and full of dribbly
tears. "Nuff!" she squeals as her mother is spotted. "Nuff! It didn't come
to me like it was supposed to." Her sniffles and occasional wails continues as she
shoves past people to cling to the Weyrwoman, leech-style.
Nuff nods to the others, and grins her thanks. "Ta Con. Hythe? Klah? Looks like
there's some left." She eyes the surrounding chairs but dares not sit, lest she never
get up again. "Who is your little friend C'lan?"
Boyd appears from ::between::, eyes alert.
Pyrene blinks, she doesn't like klah. But she takes it, smiling her thanks and then runs
(carefully) over to Flarra, "psst, can you drink this for me?"
Scaflowne hmms a slightly amused smile forming on her lips, "Now why would /you/
worry about eating too much...certainly doesn't seem like you have any problems at all
with that..." she trails of arching an amused eyebrow as she looks you up and down
for a moment then blushing slightly reaches out to refill her mug.
Aislynn is /big/. And she's Con's /dopted/ person, not his friend. Well. On second
thought, dopted people can be friends too. But she /isn't/ little. And she also isn't
tired, taking her wine with a big grin, sampling it... "Ninth Pass, /10th/
year," she guesses, with a special *blink* for Con.
Hythe nods her head quickly...looking quietly pleased that the Weyrwoman remembered her
name, 'Yes please...I think I have time before G'way will want to head back t Gar.' She
turns to C'lan with a smile, 'I wanted to congratulate you.'
Nuff manages a tired nod for Pyrene, "Yes, it was rather splen..." but her
commentary fades away as she turns and crouches down, arms wide, to catch little Jack as
she runs into the room. "Jackie, jackiejackiejackie. I was wondering where you've
been hiding."
"This is Aislynn, Nuff," Con says as he puts mugs and glasses down again.
"She's my adopted person. Right again, Ais; your palate is superb." He notes
Hythe's presence and turns to her with a warm smile and a soft, "Thank you." And
he gestures. "Have a seat? We've got room."
Jack's face -- tear-strewn -- buries deep into her mother's chest, pudgy little arms bare
and chilled from her sleeveless candidate's gown of sorts. "Imm dinnit pimm
mmme," come the mumbles from her smooshed face.
Annalee strides in from the Central Bowl.
Flarra blinks slightly and then nods, taking the mug of klah, "Ok.. No
problem.." She says quietly, a little confused but taking a sip anyway.. Hmm, not too
bad.. Don't see why she doesn't like it but.. *shrug* "Well at least its still
warm." is muttered softly before a quick glance is given around the room, "Wow..
So many people.."
Hythe settles down with her klah, 'Thank you' Klah is sipped slowly.
Annalee peeks in, eyes bright and dancing. "Hey..." Nuff especially is given her
trademark impish salute.
Nuff looks up from hugging JackWhoWouldBeRider, all five turns of her, and nods to Hythe,
"Help yourself", mouthed over the top of Jackie's curls. "Well met",
said louder as she smiles tiredly up at the non-little Aislynn, "Though you look
awfully familiar." She continues to hug Jack, patting the unhappy child. "I know
Jackie, I know. But you are awfully small."
K'lis shrugs slighlty, setting his mug down and running his hands through his little
braids again in an attempt to clear his face. It doesn't work too well though as they just
swish back into place. "Well, I wouldn't say I'm worried about it," he answers
slyly.
Aislynn beams proudly. He introduced me as his 'dopted person!! Whee! And she *blinks* at
Nuff, whose arms are full right now. Full of a kid. Hm.
Nuff would return the salute, but has her arms FullOfKid. "Lo Annalee. Erranth
sleeps?"
Scaflowne hmms, "Oh? then what?"
All /seven/ turns of Jack, thank you, mom. The child pulls back from Nuff for a moment to
peer up with the puffed eyes -- twin violet. "I was gonna /grow/!" she wails
pitifully, then buries her face in the Weyrwoman again, bare toes pushing against the
cold, stone floor in search of lap space.
Pyrene glances over to Annalee with a rather sad smile. Even impressions can be sad,
another person lost to a blue.... She sidles carefully back to her seat. Annalee may not
/look/ any different, but you never can tell...
Annalee nods slowly, eyes glittering as she hears Erranth's name again. "He does...
Err... Well, now he's awake, Ysbryth just touched him."
The corner of K'lis' lips turn up. "Well, a rider does have to keep his figure
though. Certainly couldn't be out of shape."
C'lan helps himself to his own klah, confident that he's doing a good job here, but he
swallows at Jack's outbursts, not quite sure what to say to the girl. Sweetening,
sweetening, sweetening, there. He makes it just short of syrup, of course. "I thought
they'd sleep for awhile yet," he says, vaguely toward Annalee.
Hythe's expression softens as she considers the disconsolate little candidate.
Annalee tilts her head, watching Pyrene curiously. "What's wrong, Pyrpet?"
Isn't it amazing how fast they grow up? "You will Jack, you will." Nuff holds
the kid, as mothers do, affectionately and powerless in the face of a child's
disappointment, no matter how unrealistic their little dreams might be. She decides to
just sit on the floor and draw Jack in. Then, carefully, reaches back up for her klah.
"Tiareth is trying to cause trouble, let me know if she gets out of hand?" NOt
that Nuff could do much anyways.
Scaflowne chuckles, "I suppose...although.."she trails off eyes gleaming with
amusement as she takes a slow sip of the once again warm klah.
Pyrene grins nervously at Alee, "I'm just... tired." yep, that's it, "So
Alee... -pet. how are you feeling now that you've impressed a... a... thing-- dragon.
Different?" any sudden urges to sacrifice children etc?
Sprawl over stolen gold?
Blow smoke from your nose?
"Although?" K'lis wonders, looking at Scaflowne curiously, "Although
what?" His interest has certainly been perked.
Jack draws her face from Nuff's shirt again, this time affecting a melodramatic pout and a
look of wide-eyed disappointment. "But /you/ impressed one," she notes rather
pointedly, dusky curls falling limp around her round face. Look, even her curls are
pitiful.
Flarra quietly walks further into the room, carefully trying to navigate through the crowd
and hopefully not bump into anyone in the process before finally taking a seat at one of
the nearby tables. Just to watch at the moment.. Watch and perhaps listen too.. She
doesn't know half of the people in this room, only one or two and not very well.. Only her
little cousin..
Dione slips quietly in from the Central Bowl.
Annalee just... laughs. That's all she can do. "Pyrene!!! I'm /complete/ is what I
feel."
Aislynn hops up and approaches the goldrider and the little girl. Perhaps she can help in
this situation. "I'm a gold dragon," she offers, her head tipped to the side.
Did that say enough?
Phoenix slides out of ::between:: a mellow chitter and tweep for all.
Scaflowne smiles shaking her head, "Oh...nothing...I just don't think sometimes I
suppose...travelling as I did don't have to worry about keeping in shape... between
walking and dancing it was enough for me..."she shrugs again, "You just don't
seem like you really need to worry about such things..."she trails off slightly
blushing.
Pyrene smiles at Annalee with not a particularly convincing show of sincerity.
"Complete. Oh." So all this time she was talking to an incomplete bluerider.
Flarra gets an appealing look, come and be a useful big cousin. Protect me.
Nuff looks thankfully up at Aislynn, grinning. "Look Jack. There's a... dragon?"
"Are you all right, Pyrene?" C'lan echoes. "Did you want something else to
drink?"
Annalee quirks a grin at Pyrene, shaking her head. "Afraid of dragonriders?"
Okay, Jh'ral's suggestion that "the Harper dispel the myth" is already in
place...
Hythe finishes her klah in time see someone trying to get her attention from the doorway.
A quick grin to the others, 'There is my ride back to Gar..If you will excuse
me?...Again..congratulations, C'lan.'
Aislynn nods and smiles, showing off her lovely shimmering 'wings.' "See?" she
says. And she steps closer to Jack. "My name is Aislynnth," she says, and rolls
her eyes around. "I impressed you."
Aren't bronzeriders supposed to get young woman drunk /after/ they've made Rider?
K'lis leans back into his chair, idly fingering the mug on the table next to him with his
fingers. "Well, I wouldn't say that you are, either?" And his appraising and
admiring gaze wanders across Sca. "Not at all.
No no dear, it's the /greenriders/ that get people drunk. poor victimized blue and brown
riders.
"Bye, Hythe--" Con says. "Will you be back soon?"
"Where? For me?" Jack perks slightly, peering in the indicated direction, only
to let her face fall once again. "That's not a dragon," she notes rather sourly
-- with a pitiful note, of course. Face buries in Nuff's shoulder. "Nuff, U want a
dragon." So there. She'll take it now, rush delivery.
Pyrene is stressed. Teen angst,
friends-impressing-while-she-isn't-even-searched-not-that-she's-bitter-or-anything, and a
harper has decided to delve into her mind and fix it. Perhaps we should be more sorry for
annalee.
Blossom blinks in from ::between::!
Hythe nods,'I hope to be...some more things to go through on that room'
Scaflowne looks down at the table blushing though not too much, "Hmm...I guess...my
life demanded it.."
Annalee chuckles softly, shaking her head and offering a hug to Pyrene. "Hun, I'm
sure you'll be Searched next time around... You'd make a perfect 'rider."
Aislynn is /so/ a dragon. Is. So. So there. She stares right at Jack for a long minute.
"I just bespoke you," she informs the tempery other little girl. "I said,
'I'm hungry.'" Cuz that's what dragons say.
Flarra chuckles slightly at the look she is given from Pyrene but just remains where she
is, sipping her afore mentioned mug of klah and watching the crowd silently.. Listening to
the various and very interesting (at least to her) conversations. If her cousin really
needed help she would help, but for the moment she seems to be safe.
Hythe smiles as she quickly slips off after G'way...and his blue Returneth.
Hythe exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
C'lan watches the little drama unfold between dragon and girl and stifles yet another
yawn.
Nuff patpats Jack, shaking her head. "Nice try Aislynn, but I think I should put this
little one to bed, and myself soon enough. Perhaps peek in on the weyrlings on the way
by." She finishes her klah, and manages to get back to her feet; Jack is hefted and
held against her ample chest, though its unlikely for very long. "Anyone heading
across the bowl?"
Pyrene semi-squeezes Annalee in return. blueriding's not contagious, she /thinks/,
"That's OK, I don't want to be searched, nurseries are more comfortable than the
weyrling barracks." So she's heard anyway.
"I want my dragon," Jack pouts, nestling her little white-clad self into her
mother's lap. "I want it /now/." She pauses. "Make Tiareth give me a gold
dragon like I'm s'posed to get."
Aislynn shrugs, and flies back over to Conlan. C'lan. She doesn't sit, though, but stands
still, swaying as another yawn takes her over.
C'lan jumps as if hit by something. "I am," he announces. "I have to go
back to the barracks." He downs the klah in a hurry. "Yeah. I have to go right
now. I better go." He blinks, regarding Pyrene and Aislynn and everybody else with
vague eyes. "Yeah, I better go."
Annalee chuckles softly, biting her lower lip a little. Cee and Tat are settles more
easily on her shoulders, and the tiny brown hatchling in her arms gives a sigh.
K'lis nods to Scaflowne. "Tis true. The life of the traveler can be a...
workout." He glances toward the entrance, wondering if it's still raining outside. Oh
well. Quickly his eyes are back on Sca. "Are you staying here for the night?
Pyrene stares at C'lan. See? it begins. Perfectly normal boy one day-- well relatively
normal-- and now totally mad. Still she won her bet with Ewyrpin and that's all that
matters.
Scaflowne shrugs frowning thoughtfully, "Well unless I find a ride out of here
tonight I'm stuck I suppose..."
Nuff puts Jack down, unable to hold her for very long. "Perhaps, little Jack. But I
think not for many turns yet. Are you going to stay here, my Jack? Or go curl up with
Tiareth? She says she misses you." Well, that's almost what she says.
C'lan resists the urge to blow kisses at Pyrene and stands up. "Did you need some
help, Nuff? Because I am going, right now."
D'neor. Is he calling Aislynn? Bet Tera's gonna be mad this time. Ais is out /really/
late. She peeks out the doorway, but doesn't see the bluerider. She does see C'lan,
getting ready to leave. Without saying good-bye?? /That/, this little one is /not/ going
for, and she steps right in front of him.
Nuff nods, to the C'lan and then the rest. "Yes Con, I'm coming. Goodnight everyone.
Don't stay up all night now, y'hear? Lots to do tomorrow."
"Tiareth will be my gold dragon," Jack proclaims, clinging to her mother's hand
to be led out.
Nuff tugs Jack along then, heading off and muttering assorted good things about Tiareth
and Jack.
Nuff exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Jack exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
"Chiqueth and I could give a ride if you'd like one. Not like anything's out of the
way for us," he says with a wink.
C'lan exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Scaflowne smiles, "Oh? would you? that would be wonderful...I really don't fancy
staying here the night and I don't really know anyone around here"
Pyrene sighs as some of those riders at least disappear. Annalee is of course still being
watched. Flarra is ignored. Deserter.
Aislynn pouts. He didn't even say good-bye. Hmph.
Annalee is, however, turned inward on herself, listening to the conversations between her
blue and his clutchmates.
K'lis chuckles, noding affirmation. "Yeah. I'd be /more/ more than happy too."
he winks again, a soft smile lighting his face. "Always happy to help a fine lady
such as yourself."
Pyrene yawns and examines the cookie plate. "Want some Ais? These ones here don't
have nuts."
* Before Conlan left, of course, he gave Aislynn a big hug.
Aislynn does, indeed, want some cookies. Lots of them. Her 'dopted bronzerider being quite
preoccupied, and /gone/ now. "Chocolate chip," she murmurs appreciatively.
Scaflowne arches an amused eyebrow, "Oh? I see....well your help is cetainly
appreciated and that of you dragon of course.."
Flarra finally finishes the last of her klah and stands quietly, placing the chair back
where it was and heading out to the bowl and back to the stables.. Work to be done and
sleep to be had. Especially now that she's being ignored by one of the few people she
knows up here.. She didn't desert, just wasn't going to defend when there wasn't anything
to defend against..
Annalee just starts laughing out loud, feeding her little brown flizzard meatroll shreds
as she follows in the direction of Conlan--er, C'lan.
Annalee exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Flarra exchanges the protection of stone for the bowl outside.
Pyrene waves to Flarra after all. She's tired now and getting just a little grouchy.
K'lis nods. "Chi won't mind, and, like I said, I'd be more than happy to. Where'll
you want to be headin' back too?" His gaze is stilly idly wandering over Sca.
Pyrene grabs another cookie and departs for cot and dreams of some sort.
