This is the chronicle of my summer job, away from home. Not that it's my first time away from home. It's just the first summer I've spent not at home. It's also the first significant period of time I won't be living on a coast. It's not like I see the ocean every day where I live during the school year, but at least I know it's there. There's no ocean where I'm going. There are mountains and trees and the U.S. border, which isn't something I've ever lived near before. It's also a small town, which is something I've never really experienced before. I avoided attending one of the many universities in tiny little towns around here. It should be an interesting summer. I have my sandals to help me through. I hope.
