“I wanna know, who is the real the you…” blared out of the radio as Emma was finishing getting ready to go.
“And that was the song which is set to be number 1 again this week, the fantastic debut single Along The Way from the equally fantastic Sarah J!” the DJ on radio said as the song came to an end. Emma smiled to herself, hard to believe that one of her best friends looked set to be number one again that week, for the sixth week running! She hadn’t seen Sarah for six weeks now, which was at her single launch party; in fact she hadn’t seen any of her mates since then, well except for Sian.
“Hey Emmz?” Sian said popping her head around the door, “You ready? We wouldn’t want to be late for our last lecture of the year would we?”
“Yeah you’re right, I guess we should make the effort to be on time for one!” Emma said laughing, turning off the radio and walking out of the door.
“I can’t believe we’ve almost finished our first year at uni!”
“Yeah I know, it’s gone so fast!” agreed Emma
“I bet you can’t wait to see Abs again!”
“Yeah, and the rest of them all!”
“Yeah but Abs more!”
“Why Abs more?”
“You know!” she laughed as Emma just shook her head and tried to hide the fact she was blushing, “I know you fancy him Emmz!”
“So is Josh coming to pick you up?” she said deliberately changing the subject.
“Yeah, yeah he is,” she said with a big grin on her face. She had been seeing Josh for four months now. He was also in a band, a proper band as he liked to call it, as a pose to a boyband!
“Are you two coming over to Florida with all us lot?” Emma asked Sian.
“I don’t know.”
“Aw why not? C’mon!”
“I’ve only met all of you once and so has Josh, I’d feel awkward.”
“Aw mate! Mich wouldn’t have been asked if she didn’t want you to come!”
“Okay, I’d love to go! I’ll talk to Josh about.”
“Good, good!” Emma laughed, “It’s going to be the best summer ever, so you’ve got to be part of it!”

They carrying on walking down the corridor until they came to the door, there was a notice on door, “ALL LECTURES IN THIS ROOM CANCELLED TODAY DUE TO STAFF ILLNESS. HAVE A NICE SUMMER AND DON’T FORGET TO COME BACK!”

“How wicked is that?” said Sian turning to Emma.
“Very,” she beamed, “Now come lets go and have ‘a nice summer’!”

Chapter 2

“Do you think we’re nearly there yet?” Kim moaned.
“Kim! Are you serious? We haven’t even took off yet!” Emma said as the rest of them burst out laughing. Emma, Kim, Kay, Jen, Skitz, Maz, Helen and Nic were all off to America for a very special occasion and were all very hyper. Sian and Josh were following on another flight the next day along with Lee, Kim’s new boyfriend and Sam, Nicky’s new girlfriend. The 5ive and Westlife lads, along with Scott’s Kerry and baby Brennan and Bryan’s Kerry and baby Molly, were already out there so were going to meet them off the flight. Tico was busy writing and recording a new album but was trying very hard to get a few days off to go to the very special occasion with Skitz.

“I can’t believe what we’re actually going over for,” said Maz.
“Yeah I know!” agreed Nic
“I hope she says yes when he asks her!” Kay said.
“She better,” laughed Emma.
“Yeah cause otherwise we’ve had a wasted journey!” Kim said seriously.
“Nah, don’t worry, she’ll definitely say yes,” Jen reassured, “You’ve seen how they are together.
“Why does Mich think we’re coming over then?” Helen asked.
“I think she just thinks we’re coming for a holiday,” Emma answered her.
“Yeah but all of us together? Doesn’t that seem a bit strange to you?” Skitz said.
“Just a bit!” laughed Kay.
“Yeah but since when have we done anything normal?” Emma asked laughing.
“NEVER!” they all shouted in unison and then burst out laughing.
“I do hope they’re not going to be this noisy all the way to Orlando,” a snooty voice came from in front of them, prompting them to laugh even more.

The other people on the plane needn’t have worried though as no sooner had they taxied down the runway Kim and Jen were asleep, not long after them Maz, Helen and Nic were also asleep. Just leaving Emma, Kay and Skitz awake, Skitz was listening to music on the headphones (most probably Bon Jovi), Emma was reading and Kay was just staring out of the window at the clouds, thinking about Mark no doubt. Emma out down her book and sighed.

“Emmz, what’s up?” Kay said turning to face Emma who was sitting next to her.
“Nothing,” she started, “well I was just thinking…”
“Thinking?” Kay asked
“Thinking that I’m so going to be Bridget Jones.”
“Don’t be silly! You’ve been reading that book too much.”
“Yeah but I mean like all of you lot have boyfriends and there’s just me, the single one. See I’m going to turn into Bridget Jones and be single at 30.”
“Emmz! Where the hell has all this come from? You’re nothing like Bridget Jones, she is 30 something, and you’re 19! You’ve got your whole life in front of you!”
“Yeah my whole life to be single and get even fatter than I already am!”
“Emmz now don’t you even start with the fat thing! And as for being single forever you’re so not! I mean Abs is practically falling over himself to go out with you!” Kay said reassuringly.
“Me and Abs are just friends!” Emma shot back defensively.
“You do fancy him though don’t you?” Kay said persisting as Emma just looked at her feet, “Emmz be honest, I’m not going to running and tell him the first time I see him!”
“Yeah I do fancy him,” Emma whispered, “but he doesn’t fancy me does he?”
“Emmz he so does!” Kay almost shouted causing Skitz to take off her headphones.
“Who so does what?” she asked.
“Abs!” Kay carried on, “Abs so does fancy Emmz!”
“Yeah,” Skitz said, “everyone knows he does!” and then she put her headphones back on.
“See, Skitz doesn’t think there’s anything weird about Abs fancying you!”
“Yeah, okay,” Emma said feeling a little better, “we’ll see how things go I guess.”
“Yes! Good!”
“But Kay… don’t go trying to set us up!”
“As if I would!” laughed Kay.

Chapter 3

“They should be here soon shouldn’t they?” Abs asked.
“Yup!” answered J.
“I shouldn’t have come,” Abs said kicking a piece of paper on the floor.
“What makes you say that?” J asked him.
“Well look all of you are waiting for your girlfriends, I feel like I’m not meant to be here.”
“I’m sure Emmz would be upset if you weren’t here to met them off the plane,” J said winking at him.
“Why? We’re just friends.”
“Yeah friends who so obviously fancy each other!”
“No we do not!” Abs snapped defensively and then looked at the floor, “Well what I mean is she doesn’t fancy me.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure mate, you’re both just too shy for your own good!” J reassured him
“I don’t know mate, I just don’t know.” Abs mumbled as Sean walked over.
“God Sean! You sure you’ve got enough there?” J exclaimed looking down at all the bags in Sean’s hand.
“What? Don’t you think this is enough?” he said.
“Calm it! I was joking! Who is it all for?” J asked
“Maz of course!” he replied.
“Aw my little Sean is in love,” said J teasing as Sean just blushed. Just then they heard a scream.
“SHANEEEEEEEEEEE!” screamed Jen launching herself at Shane, “I missed you!”
“Aw Sean! You didn’t have to!” Maz was giving Sean a big hug and thanking him for all the presents.
“J! I’ve missed you so much!” said Helen running up to J, “Yeah okay seems you’ve missed me too, I think this can wait though. J no! Not in public!”
“Kian! Oh you’ve had your hair cut! It looks err nice!” Nic said hugging Kian and wondering what the hell he’d done to his hair.
“Where’s Mark?” said Kay huffily to Emma, Kim and Skitz.
“He’ll be around here somewhere don’t worry.” Emma said as someone tapped Kay on the shoulder, she span around and came face to face with a massive teddy.
“Like him?” Marks voice came from behind it.
“Aw Mark you big softie!” she said hugging him… and the bear.

** At the hotel **

“Emmz,” Abs said looking at her struggling with all her bags.
“Yeah?” she said looking up at him and smiling.
“I… um…” he started before changing his mind about what he was going to say, “Why do you find it necessary to take so many bags everywhere?”
“Well I got to be prepared! Who knows what the weather is going to be like!” she laughed.
“True, so you need some help?”
“If you don’t mind mate.” Emmz said.
“Mate, she called me mate. She doesn’t fancy me at all,” Abs muttered under his breathe.

Meanwhile everyone else had already checked into the hotel. Kim and Skitz who were for the moment without boyfriends had decided to go and check out Orlando while the others had decided to check out their rooms.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’VE MADE A ‘LITTLE’ MISTAKE WITH THE ROOM ARRANGEMENTS?” Emma screamed at the receptionist.
“We’re very sorry madam but we just assumed when the reservations got faxed through that you and Mr Breen would sharing a room.”
“It said nowhere on there that would I be sharing! Are you all thick?” she was really angry now.
“Madam I don’t know what to say I’m very sorry about this whole mix up.”
“Yes, yes you’re very sorry but what are you going to do about it?”
“Well,” the receptionist replied turning back to computer, “The only thing I can see is that there is a twin room, but that won’t be available for another week, so I’m afraid that for your first week there is only a double room available. Or I could transfer you to another hotel.”
“Ugh forget it! I don’t want to go to another hotel! All my friends are here!” she screeched looking evilly at the poor receptionist who was looking quite scared. Emma snatched the keys out of her hands, “Abs come on! Lets go and sort this out ourselves!” she said grabbing her bags and storming off.

Chapter 4

“Right,” said Emma.
“You calmed down now?” Abs asked.
“Yeah slightly,” she answered.
“Yeah you can tell you’re not so red anymore,” Abs laughed.
“I really got mad down there, huh?”
“Yeah! You scared that receptionist half to death!”
“Well serves her right, they better be giving us a discount you know! Anyways I’ve worked it out.”
“Worked what out?”
“How were going to make this room work.”
“Right, how?”
“We just take turns, one night I get the bed, you have the couch that night. Next night we swap yeah?”
“Hmm yeah I suppose,” Abs said, “Actually you just take the bed I’ll have the couch.”
“Aw are you sure?”
“Yeah I’m sure. What are friends for?”
“You’re so sweet Mr Breen,” Emma said giving Abs a big hug.
“I know someone who’s sweeter,” he said not letting her go.
“Really and who would that be?” she said looking up at him and smiling.
“That would be…” Abs started but he was interrupted by Emma’s phone, which had started to ring.
“Hey,” Emma said answering the phone.
“Hey Emmz, Dan here, you all got here okay?”
“Oh hey Dan! Yes we did thanks!”
“That’s great. Anyways I was ringing to tell you about arrangements for tomorrow night.”
“Ooh the big night huh?”
“Yup. I’m so scared in case she says no!”
“Believe me, she’s not going to say no!”
“Good! Now is it okay if you all meet us at 7pm outside your hotel?”
“Yeah should be fine I’ll let everyone know and we’ll see you then!”
“Ok thanks Emmz! See you tomorrow night.”
“Byeeee!” Emmz said before putting the phone down. She turned around to see Abs sitting on the end of the bed watching the TV. Maybe Kay and Skitz had been right, maybe he did fancy her.

** Later in the hotel restaurant **

“So you and Abs sharing a room then?” Jen said nudging Emma.
“Yes, and there’s nothing wrong with that,” Emma said defensively, “I’m having the bed and he is sleeping on the couch.”
“And I wonder how long that’s going to last!” laughed Skitz.
“Shut up he’ll hear you!” Emma said nodding over to the table where everyone else was sitting.
“Okay! Sorry! Now let’s go join them! I’m starving!” Skitz said as Jen and Emma followed her over to the table.

They had just finished eating and were contemplating dessert when Kim’s phone started to ring.
“Um hiya,” she said a little unsure into it because it was a number she didn’t recognise.
“Hiya babes!”
“Lee?!” she squealed.
“Yeah who else would it be?”
“Sorry I didn’t recognise the number hun.”
“Yeah I’m ringing from the airport, my battery is flat!”
“You’re ringing from the airport?”
“Yeah baby I’m here!”
“How long you going to be? Are Sam, Sian and Josh all with you?”
“Yeah, yeah they’re all here. We’re getting a taxi so we’ll be there in about half an hour.”
“Okay good! Love you!” she said before putting down the phone.

Chapter 5

“Abs? Are you finished in there? C’mon! We’ve got to meet everyone in 5 minutes! Abs if you don’t answer me I’m coming in to get you!” Emma called through the bathroom door, “Okay then you’ve had your chance!” she said turning the bathroom door expecting it to be locked, but it wasn’t, “Oh my God, Abs I’m so sorry!” Emma said turning right back round again, “I’ll err be waiting out there for you while you get dressed!” she said closing the door behind her, blushing like mad.

“Um I’m ready now,” an embarrassed, now fully clothed Abs said emerging from the bathroom, “you ready?”
“Err yeah, no, hang on let me check my hair again and make sure my eyeliner hasn’t smudged!”
“Emmz you look,” he started with the word perfect on the tip of his tongue, “fine, your hair is all in place and your eyeliner hasn’t smudged! Now come on it’s 7 already!”

They shouldn’t have worried as once they had arrived down in the lobby they had to wait a further 15 minutes for Sam and Nicky and Kim and Lee to show up. Obviously they had missed each other a lot!

** In the restaurant **

“Okay everyone now Michy is going to be here in a bit, she doesn’t know all of you are here so um just make something up yeah?” said Dan nervously before going outside to meet Mich.
“What do you mean you walked in on him naked?!” Kay whispered to Emma.
“Like I said I walked in on him naked,” Emma whispered back.
“And?” Kay whispered back.
“And what?”
“You know!”
“Kay I am completely disgusted with you!” Emma said too loud.
“Why what’s Kay done?” asked Skitz.
“I’ll um explain later,” Emma told her before they attracted anymore attention. Just then Mich walked in.
“Oh my God! You guys! You’re all here! Wow!” she gushed and then paused, “What you all doing here?”
“We’ve all come on holiday together and thought we’d come and see you!” Kim said, looking very pleased with herself for being quicker than everyone else.
“Beauty and brains,” Lee whispered into her ear and then kissed her on the forehead.
“Right, um, so shall we all order?” Dan asked, still on edge.

After they’d finished their meal Dan turned to Mich and took her hand.
“Dan, what’s up?” she asked confuzzled slightly.
“Mich,” he started as all the conversation from around the huge table they were sat died, “I’ve got something to ask you, I don’t want you to feel like you’ve got to agree but I need to ask you this.”
“Yeah okay,” she answered still not sure what was going on.
“Mich will you marry me?” he asked pausing for an answer… nothing… “please?” he said starting to look worried.
“Oh Dan,” Mich started, “You don’t have to say please silly!”
“Does that mean yes?”
“Of course it means yes! I love you!” she said trying her hardest not to cry because she was so happy.
“I love you so much,” he said kissing her.
“Oh yeah am I getting an engagement ring?” she said pulling away from him slightly.
“Of course you are sweetie,” he said taking a box out of his trouser pocket.
“Aw it’s lovely,” she gasped as he slipped it onto her finger and then they went back to kissing.
“Awwwwwwwww aren’t they cute?” everyone turned to each other and said.

Chapter 6

“Aw Michy! I can’t believe you and Dan are getting married!” Maz squealed as the rest of the girls around the table in the café they were sat nodded in agreement. They’d managed to get away from the blokes for a few hours to go and see Mich and have a girlie gossip.
“I know! Me too! I’ve been hoping he’d ask me for ages! And you lot! You knew all about it and didn’t tell me!”
“Yeah, but it was a nice surprise wasn’t it?” laughed Emma.
“Yeah, it’s the best surprise I’ve ever had!” Mich said with a huge grin on her face prompting more ‘aww’s’ from everyone around the table.
“So when’s the day then?” Nic asked.
“Well we’re thinking of having a short engagement, well a very short one. If everything can be sorted out then next Friday, so you’ll all be here for it before going home on the Sunday.”
“Aw Mich that’s wicked!” Kay said.
“Yeah it is,” agreed Sian.
“Oh we need to take you dress shopping!” Jen shouted.
“Yeah I know,” said Mich, “that brings me onto my next point, I would love it if you would all be my bridesmaids.”
“All of us?” Skitz said surprised, “That’s like loads of us!”
“Yeah I know, but I do want some and I really wouldn’t know how to pick out of all my great mates!”
“Aw Mich that’s really sweet of you,” Kim said, “and now we all get to have new dresses!” They all laughed and someone’s phone started to ring.
“Skitz, you’re ringing!” Helen said laughing
“Oh yay, Tico!” she said answering the phone, “Hiya!”
“Hey babes” Tico said in his New Jersey accent which sent Skitz wild.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yes everything is absolutely fine, I have time off! So that means I’m going be able to spend time with you until you fly back over to England.”
“Oh yes that’s great news.”
“Anyways must be off, still have to work until the end of today! Love you!”
“Love you too!” Skitz finishing her phone conversation with Tico.

They sat chatting for a while longer until the conversation turned to something Emma had been hoping it wouldn’t.
“So Emmz, how are you and Abs getting on?” Kay asked
“Fine, why wouldn’t we be?” she replied.
“No reason,” she answered with a smile.
