Chapter 6

A week or so later…
I got up to the loud banging from next door I wondered into Soph’s room. She was up. “I can’t believe them next door its like 9:00am and they are banging.” “I know its annoying I saw a van and they were getting a new bath out there or something so they must be having a new bath put in.” “So that’s all the racket then.” “Yep so Mich what have you got planned today?” She asked. “Daniel goes back today so I’m gonna go into town with him.” “Mich, are you going to tell Shane about you and Daniel back together.” “Yea of course I am me and Shane made a promise not to keep any secrets from each other.”
It was 10:00 I had a shower and a knock goes at the door. It was Daniel. “Hi Mich babes ya ready yet?” “Yea hang on give me a second will ya.” Soph went to the door. “Hi Soph.” “Don’t say hi to me.” “You’re still angry with me aint ya?” “No I’m not I hate you and I don’t want Mich to get hurt again.” “I wont hurt her.”
I came back down the stairs it went quiet. “What were you two chatting about?” “Nothing.” Soph said. “Are ya ready then Daniel?” “Yea.” Daniel and me walked into town.
Meanwhile at the airport in Germany the guys were waiting for the plane. “Nicky how long did the announcement say the delay is?” Shane asked. “It’s is delayed for an hour.” “Oh you’re joking I cant believe this roll on when we get home I wanna see if Mich and Soph have made a mess of the house.” Nicky laughed. “Nah I don’t think the girls have made a mess.” “Do you like the present I got for Mich?” Shane asked Nicky while he was holding up a gold diamond necklace. “Yea what is that for?” “It’s just a present I got for my best mate.” “Ah right.”
Daniel and me were sitting on the park bench with our arms wrapped around each other. “I’m gonna miss you.” “Aww Mich babes I’ll miss you to.” “I wish I can stay with you forever. “Yea I know, Oh bother what’s the time.” “It’s 12:30.” “Mich I gotta go me flight is at 3:00.” “Ok.”
It was 1:00 and I and Daniel arrived at the airport with hand full of his luggage. “Gees Daniel what the hell you got in this suitcase bricks.” “No.” Daniel went to the check in. “This is it then.” I said as we were walking up to passport control. “Yep it is well for the moment any way.” He hugged me I didn’t want to let him go but he had to go back. He kissed me on the lips and he picked up his bag and walked through passport control.
I went back home. “Hi Mich.” “Hi Soph.” “Look guess who is back?” Soph said while she was pointing at some suitcases on the floor. “Mich.” I turned around to see Shane running up to me. “Shane.” I ran up to him and hugged him it was like I aint seen him for a million years or something. “How is me best mate?” “I’ve been ok, Shane can we go somewhere cause I gotta tell ya something.” “Yea sure ok.”
Shane and me went to the Italian café down the road. Shane and Me always went there it was like our little hang out. “So did you have a nice time in Germany?” I tried to put the subject about Daniel off for a while longer. “Yea it was alright.” “Good.” “By the way Mich I got ya a little present.” “What is it?” Shane pulled something out of his jacket pocket. He opened the box that had a gold necklace inside it. “What have I done to deserve this?” “It’s just a thank you present for being the best mate I could ever ask for.” “Aww Shane.” I hugged him.
“So Mich what do ya wanna tell me then?” “It was nothing.” I didn’t want to tell him. “Mich, I can tell you wanna tell me something it’s the look in your eye so come on spill.” I looked at him. “Shane really you don’t wanna know. I sit up. “Mich, sit down now.” He said as he pulled me down. “Ok alright I’ll tell you.” “Good I’m your best mate and you remember that promise not to keep secrets from each other.” “Ok then but I know you wont like it.” “Well?” “I’m back with Daniel.”
“What?” “I’m back with Daniel.” “Daniel as in the one who cheated on you with your cousin.” “Yea.” “What the hell are you back with him for?” “He has changed.” “I wouldn’t believe that for two seconds.” “What the hell is your problem with him?” “Mich, I’m worried about you he will hurt you.” “He won’t.” I ran off crying. “Mich hang on.”
A few hours later I went back home after walking around for ages just thinking. “Mich where the hell have you been I was gonna send a party out for ya.” Soph said. “Been walking around just thinking.” “Ah right I take it you told Shane about Daniel.” “Yea I did he take it to well is he back. “No he has gone somewhere with Sinead.” “Oh right any way you spoke to Nicky?” “Nope I aint.” “Soph I thought you were telling him today.” “Mich I can’t I know what he is gonna say anyway so what is the point.” “You don’t know that until you speak to him.” “I’m going out we need milk.” “Ok.”
I sat in the lounge staring up at the ceiling with the television blaring music out of it. I heard the door slam shut and I heard giggling coming from the hall. What the hell is going on I thought. I went to see who it was to my surprise it was Shane and his girlfriend Sinead. “Hi Mich didn’t think there was no one in.” Shane said. “Hi Mich.” Sinead said with a big smile on her face. “Hi you two aint you supposed to be at dinner with your family Shane.” “Nah we came home early if ya know what I mean.” Shane said as he winked at me then looked at Sinead. “Shane.” I said disgusted. “What?” “Never mind I’m going to watch tele so I’ll leave you two to it.”


Chapter 7

A few months later..
The rain fell down outside I mean it’s the summer and it chucks it down. I suppose it was a good thing we all got a movie out to watch almost the whole gang was around in our small living room. Shane and Nicky brought a new windscreen television so we were testing it out.
A little while in the movie. “How long does this film go on for?” Kian complained he was always moaning sometimes I wish he just got a girlfriend “Kian shut up we are trying to watch this movie.” Bryan said as his voice shacked the whole house. I looked at Kian then looked at Bryan. He wrapped his arms around Kerry and pulled her and started to kiss her. He moaned at Kian for not paying any attention to the movie but he could talk but then again I don’t think any one was watching it.
I scanned the room to see who had their eyes locked on the movie but no one was actually watching it they were to occupied with something else. Shane and Sinead had disappeared; Nutzy was looking at Mark and his new girlfriend Louise in a weird way like she was jealous of her. Jen and Janine were having a good gossiping, whispering and laughing. Soph and Nicky kept on looking at each other in strange ways.
“Mich can I talk to you in the kitchen please.” Nicky asked me he seemed anxious. We went into the kitchen. “Ok then Nicky what’s up?” I asked. “It’s Gina.” “What’s a matter?” “I got a text message from her this morning and look what is says.” Nicky showed me the message I scrolled down and the message read. HI NICKY I KNOW IM THE LST PERSON U EXPECTED 2 GET A TXT MSG FROM BUT I NEED 2 TALK 2 U ITS SUMTHING IMPORTANT CAN WE MEET UP TXT BK.
“She wants to meet up after everything she has done.” “Yea and I don’t know what to do.” “Well don’t go text her back and say you got plenty of important other stuff to do then meet up with her.” “Yea but Mich she wants to tell me something important.” “Nicky please don’t Soph wont…” I almost told him that Soph has liked him for a while now. “Soph wont what.” “Ah never mind Nicky.” He looked at me.
The film was over not like any one enjoyed it anyway and everyone went home. I was in
the kitchen making a cup of tea just as Shane walked in with tears rolling down his face. “Mich.” “Shane mate what is up?” “It’s Sinead.” “What about her?” “She is leaving she is got a job in the USA so she is moving over there.” “Oh no aww Shane.” “I can’t believe this I love her.” By now he had tears streaming down his soft cheeks. “Shane babes there is someone out there who is like Sinead believe me.” I reassured him. He smiled. “Thanks Mich you are truly my best mate in the whole world I don’t know where I’ll be with out you.” He said while he was kissing my cheek.
Shane and me sat talking in kitchen about things. Just as we were talking about the topic about Soph and Nicky and how they have became so close in the last few months. They both stormed in the kitchen. “Nicky I can’t believe you.” “What is your problem?” “It is her she has a cheek wanting to meet up with you.”
“Hey what the hell is going on?”  Shane said as he was trying to get in the middle of Soph’s and Nicky’s arguing. “Come on Nicky are you going to tell them or not.” Shane looked at him. “What she going on about Nick?” Soph crossed her arms. “I got a text message from Gina this morning and she wants to meet up and I said I will and Soph is annoyed cause I said yes.” “Soph has a point Nick.” Shane said. “You lot supposed to be my mates and be supportive but you aint thanks a lot.” Nicky said as he stormed out of the kitchen slamming all the doors nearly making the whole house shake.
We all looked at each other. “If only I had told him how I felt towards him sooner then he wouldn’t of stormed out.” Shane looked at Soph wondering what she was going on about. “Soph how many times have I told you to tell him?” “I don’t know Mich about a million.” “Yea about that.” By this time Shane was really confused the poor thing. “Ok Yea Hi I’m in here so can someone please explain what’s going on.”
“Shall you tell him or shall I.” I said “No I will.” “Ok then. “Shane over the past few months I’ve had feelings for Nicky.” “Feelings for Nicky?” Shane said he then turned to me. “Did you know about this?” “Of course I knew Soph told me in confidence and I’m the only person that knows as well.” “Oh as always I’m always the last to know everything.” Shane said he kind of sounded a bit upset. “Shane I didn’t wanna make a big deal out of it and plus he don’t know and that’s how I would like it to be until I do tell him.” “Soph what did you think I was gonna do tell him.” “I don’t know were you?” “No I wasn’t gees what happened to trust in here like we are all best mates aint we.” “Yea I know.” We all had a friendly hug but Nicky still didn’t know that his best mate Soph has feelings for him.

Chapter 8

It was the morning of Nicky’s birthday and so it’s a Saturday so that means party time. He and Emzy were having a joint party cause Emzy’s birthday was a few weeks after Nicky’s so it made sense to have a joint party “Morning Nicky Happy birthday mate.” “Cheers Mich.” “So how does it feel to be 23 then?” I asked. “To tell you the truth not much different.” “Ah right I’m scared in a few months time I’m gonna hit the big twenty” “You have nothing to be scared off.”
Shane and Soph came downstairs. “Happy birthday Nicky.” Soph said as she put her arms around him and gave him a friendly hug. “Thanks Soph.” “Nicky I got ya card here.” Shane said with a cheeky grin on his face. He opened it and it said “Happy birthday Haha you’re getting old.” Me, Soph and Shane began to crack up with laughter. “Very funny you lot.” “Hehe.”  Soph giggled.
My mobile ran while I was having a soak in the bath. “Hello.” “Mich, Mich, Mich.” The caller shouted down the phone. “Who are you?” “What you mean who am I?” I wondered who it was and how in earth did they get my number. “Mich it’s me Jemma.” “Ah Hi ya Jem I’m kind of busy at the moment can ya phone me back in about twenty minutes.” “Alright then and Mich you better call me back.” “Yea alright Jem.” I put the phone down and continued to relax in the bath.
I got out from the bath after a long soak. As I wondered from the bathroom into my room I could hear talking and giggling from downstairs but I carried walking into my room. I got dressed then I rang Jemma I thought I better or she might kill me. “Hi ya Jem.” “About time you called I’ve been waiting by this phone for about twenty five minutes.” Well I’m sorry anyway what’s up?”  I wondered because she did sound kind of jumpy and hyper at the same time.
“Mich I’ve got something to tell ya.” She said excitedly. “Come on Jem spill what is it?” I asked. “Well you know I’ve been away in the USA for my college course.” “Yea what about it come on Jem don’t keep me in suspense for any longer.” “Well you know O-town.”
I sat there with my mobile phone in my hand wondering what the hell she was going on about then I clicked. “Mich you…” “Yea I’m still here so come on tell me what is it about you and Otown.” I said impatiently. “Well as I was saying I’m seeing Jacob from Otown.” “Jacob what one is he?” “The one with the dreads.” “Oh yea him.” “I’m working tonight at a new bar tonight my first night where is Nicky having his party tonight.” “The starlight club I think.” “Oh my god.” “What?”  “Mich that’s where I’m working.” “No way so that means you can get me free drinks.” “Nah no way Mich its me first night on the job and I wanna make a impression don’t I.” “Yea.”
“I can always get Jacob and the rest of the Otown guys to come to the bar tonight so you can meet them all.” “So are they here then?” “Yep for some promotion.” “Anyway Jem I gotta go Shane will kill me.” “Why will he do that?” “Cause he pays for my phone bill it’s on contract.” “Aww wicked Shane is a really cool mate anyway see ya tonight.” I put the phone down.
I went down the stairs. “Hi Mich I was getting a bit worried about you.” Shane said concerned. “I was on the phone to Jem.” “Jem what Jem. “Jem as in my cousin Jemma.” “Ah right I thought you fell down the plug hole in the bathroom.” Shane said as he laughed. “Haha very funny.” “So what did she want?” “She is working tonight at the club where Nicky’s and Emzy’s party is being held.” “Oh good wicked so that means she can get us free drinks.” “That’s a no go mate.” I laughed. “Why?” “She wants to make a impression on her bosses you know a kind of scam being the best employ thing.” I laughed. “A impression.” Shane laughed.
“Oh shoot what is the time?” “Coming up to one.” “Damn.” “Why?” “I gotta go and pick Daniel up from the airport.” “Mich can’t he get a taxi.” “I said I would pick him up.” “Mich he is a lazy git and he thinks you can pick him up when ever it suits him.” “What the hell is your problem with him?” “I don’t want you to get hurt I’m only thinking about you.” “Thinking about me yeah whatever I would of thought of all people you would be there to support me.” “Mich I’m its only cause I care about you.”
Shane came up to me and hugged me. “I’m sorry Mich I didn’t mean it.” “Aww I know you didn’t Shane.” “I know how much you care for Daniel I know you’re in love with him I’ll try to like him and get on with him for you.” “Thanks Shane you don’t know how much this means to me.” “Mich I mean it if he hurts you I have a word to say to him.”  “Thanks mate.”  I said as I kissed his soft cheek.
It was coming up to five o’clock I was in the kitchen with Daniel making Dinner. He came up to me and wrapped his arms around me and he licked my ear. “Daniel.” “Yea Mich.” “I’m trying to make dinner.” “Dinner can wait.” “No it can’t.” “Maybe this may change ya mind.” He turned me around and gave me a huge kiss on the lips.
Then just as Daniel and me were in the moment of passion Shane walks in on us. “How long is dinner gonna be ready Mich, Me and the others are getting hungry.” I didn’t take any notice of him. He looked at me “Mich.” Then I pulled away from Daniel’s embrace. “Oh Hi ya Shane I didn’t hear ya what was ya saying?” “I said how long is dinner gonna be ready we are all getting hungry.” “Sorry mate I got distracted.” “Yea alright Mich I mean we all gotta get ready in a while so just hurry up will ya.” “Alright then.” I said upset. Shane walked out the kitchen.
Daniel saw the look on my face and went after him. He tapped Shane on the shoulder. “What do you want?” “The way how you spoke to Mich.” “What?” “I said the way you spoke to her with a bit of dirt.” “I didn’t now do you mind I’ve gotta go and do stuff.” “You think you’re it don’t ya.” “What did you say?” “You think you’re it don’t ya with your hard up attitude.”  “Me oh please I’m the one who don’t cheat on my girlfriends do I, I have respect for woman unlike you do.” “You’re just jealous because Mich has been giving me more attention then you.” “I’m not jealous of you I just don’t want Mich to get hurt like you hurt her once before.”  “I love Mich.” “Yea whatever I mean it mate if you hurt her you will have me to deal with do you understand.” “Yea alright whatever.” Shane walked off.
We had dinner Shane and Daniel were giving each other the evil looks across the table I didn’t know anything about the argument that they had about me. Soph and Nicky were still giving each other the strange looks I reckon Nicky has feelings for her but he aint letting on and Soph still fancies him like mad.
Soph and me were upstairs getting ready for the party. “So Soph are ya going to tell Nicky tonight about how you feel?” “Yea I am.” “You sure?” “Yep these feelings have gone on long enough.” “Good.” “Mich you’ve been right from since I told how I felt its better that he knows then it’s out in the open.” “Yay.” I said while I was hugging. It looks like tonight is going to be an exciting one.
