When you wake
You take a piece of night
And never question why
Such a phenomenom could reside
Under your dark eyes
Curtained by thick lashes
An offering of protection.
But yor eyes will never shed
Light on why
When you rise
You'll ignore your lover's cries
And never bothering wondering why
Your unable to become tangled in his ways.
"The night is the perfect time" you say
"To forget who you are."
So lose a little bit of yourself to the night.
Until you forget.
What it is to feel regret.
Cause when you wake
And take a piece of night.
The day will shed no light
On why
Love no longer exists
And your life no longer consists
Of the worst kind of pain.
But without love what is there to gain?
What a shame!
The gray in your eyes grow darker.
They used to be the perfect shade of dark blue
To reflect the night sky.
But you never bother asking why
The twinkle has gone out
Like stars that have fallen from the sky.
Because without love what is there to gain?
