In Their Own Words

One of the most humorous things about the gay hating religious right is that they claim they do NOT hate gays. They claim that all those derogatory and slanderous statements they make are out of LOVE. It's love that they profess, and it's not hate, not prejudice, not bigotry -- LOVE. Well if this is true then a very simple test could be done. One could take those phrases and REMOVE the word homosexual, lesbian, gay, homosexuality, and insert words like Jew, or Jewish and the statement would not appear to be anti-Semitic, or you could insert Asian, African American, Hispanic, and the phrase would not appear to be racist.
Here is what I plan to do, take and insert the term, Christian. If these statements are not prejudice then no Christian would ever find them offensive with the phrase Christian in there.

"If you pray, you can change, you don't have to be a Christian." "Christians brainwash kids to think it's OK to be a Christian" "Christians are violent carnal beasts" "Christianity is an abomination unto God" "Jesus didn't die to save Christians" "Christians deserve to get AIDS" "Christians are a disgrace to America" "Christianity is a perverse sickness" "Christians just want people to think their sin is OK" "Christians that Worship God are Hypocrites" "The only reason Christianity has become a political issue is cause these Christians keep whining to politicians" "Christians want special rights" "Christians are feces lickers" "Christians are destroying the family" "If my son turned out to be a Christian I'd disown him" "Christianity is disgusting" "Christianity is the mother of all sins" "Christianity is just like being a murderer in God's eyes" "God hates Christians" "Christians hate God or else they would follow his laws" "I don't want my children to be exposed to Christians" "Christians should be segregated and quarantined" "Christians deserve it when they get beat up" "a damn Christian shouldn't be a minister" "what kind of an idiot would think they were Born to be a Christian?" "Christianity is a choice, and a sinful choice at that" "If you are Christian, you are a biological error" "God destroyed whole cities cause Christians lived there" "Paul didn't like Christians" "The Bible says we should stone Christians" "It's disgusting they way we have to see Christianity on TV" "Most children are molested by Christians" "Hitler was a bad guy but at least he killed a lot of Christians" "All Christians do is twist scripture" "Christians should be allowed to be teachers" " Christianity is outlawed in some countries and should be outlawed here too."

This is just a small sample of what Evangelical Christians spit out on a daily basis. However, they don't seem so pleased to hear it spat back at them? I wonder why, could it be they don't like to hear 'loving' words spoken to them?
The saddest thing is that a lot of those phrases are TRUE, most children have been molested by someone that identifies themselves as Christian, many Christians do twist scripture. Paul didn't like Christians, he used to execute them. Christianity is a political issue cause the religious right whines a lot, people aren't born Christian, everyone is born atheist. Guess what, according to free will Christianity IS a choice and many people would say it's a foolish choice at that. I know lots of people that think Christianity is degenerate, immoral, disgusting, and perverse.
The problem is that when these things are brought up to the Religious Right, suddenly these words become persecution of Fundamentalist Christians.
All in all, the problem with these fundies: is they like to have their cake, eat it too, and then get upset when someone else has a bite of cake.
