Blessings on this fine machine, May its data all be clean. Let the files stay where they're put, Away from disk drives keep all soot. I consecrate this broom Not only as a tool of my craft, But as a symbol of my faith. Sprinkle salt on the broom I bless this broom with the spirit of Earth, of rocks and trees, of comfort and security. Brush broom with a feather I bless this broom with the spirit of Air, of bells and feathers, of spirit and mind. Touch candle flame (very quickly *g*) to broom I bless this broom with the spirit of Fire, of spice and flame, of courage and energy. Sprinkle water on the broom I bless this broom with the spirit of Water, of pearls and shells, of emotion and cleansing. Blow your breath across the broom I bless this broom with the spirit of Life, that together we may honor the Lord and Lady.
I've seen many spells that involve using pieces of paper, so I thought that, since you bless & consecrate your other tools, you should do the same to the paper. So here's the ritual I came up with.
Needed:
- Red candle (Fire Element)
- Water (preferably spring water, but any kind is fine) (Water Element)
- Salt (Earth Element)
- Incense / Blue candle (Air Element)
- Paper (obviously)
- What you usually use to cast a circle.
Steps:
1- Cast your circle.
2- Rip the paper in pieces of the size you need.
3- Put the water in a bowl and add the salt to it.
4- Light the red candle and the incense / blue candle.
5- Dip a piece of paper in the salt water, then pass it over the red candle and then over the incense / blue
candle. Set it apart and repeat until you have finished your pieces of paper.
6- Close your circle, letting the candles burning and leaving the bowl of salt water near the pieces of paper
until the paper has dried.
(Hold high platter of food)
I request thee, oh great Lady, to fill these articles of food a holder of your mighty energy.
(Lay down platter and hold your hands over it)
Guard me waking, or Lord of Light,
And watch me sleeping, oh Lady Night.

This chant was spoken to me when I was very young by a Knight who has gone before. I use it when I am afraid, uncertain, or faced with a difficult situation.
"The Lords of light be with me,
Remove the darkness from me,
Be the strength within me,
And all their wisdom guide me."

Be high in spirit ye shall succeed.

Method 1
Face the direction of the head of the bed. (Say it is at the North). With your fingers trace a Pentagram in the Air. Turn to the east and repeat. Same with South and West. Using your mind, set each Pentagram in flames. With your fingers, trace a famling line from each Pentagram, until you have four Pentagrams and a circle glowing around you. Connect North to South circling over and under you. Same with the East and the West. You are now enclosed in a globe of Pentagrams and lines that are glowing. This circle can be set up just around your bed or can be extended to include your house and property. It will dissipate by dawn and you can walk through it without causing problems if necessary (like to go to the bathroom).
Method 2
"Conjure circle round the bed
Where I lay my weary head
That in it's gold and silver light
I will spend a peaceful night.
So Mote it be.
Fill your bathtub with water and scatter some fresh rose petals in it. Light some vanilla candles and/or incense. As you lie in the water, meditate on the image you would like to project and say these words:
Earth, Air, Fire, Sea
Let the Goddess' beauty
Shine through me
Step One
Lay or sit in a place where you will not be disturbed for at least five minutes. Get comfortable. If you are
sitting, your back should be straight. Sitting or lying down, your legs should be crossed. If sitting, restyour hands, palms down, in your lap. Close your eyes.
Step Two
Visualize a golden ball of beautiful, warm light surrounding your feet. If you cannot "see" the golden ball when you visualize it, its okay, just know it is there. The ball of golden warm light always brings peace and total relaxation. Wherever the ball goes tension departs.
Step Three
Now allow this ball of light to rise up your legs and up your torso. Then allow it to go down your arms to
your fingers, and finally up your neck and into your head until covered with total peace and relaxation and
all tension is gone. If you feel tension anywhere, send the ball there and the tension will vanish.
Step Four
Stay in this state for a few moments. If you are having trouble sleeping, try this. Be at one with yourself.
Step Five
When you are ready to come out of this state of deep relaxation, take three deep breaths and feel fresh
life and energy coming out of your body with each breath. Record your thoughts and experience in your
ritual diary.
Lay down in a dark place in whatever position feels most comfortable to you. Visualize the darkness
surrounding you glowing with a soft golden light. As you inhale deeply, breathe that light into you and
cleanse yourself with it. See the light removing all impurities and disturbances. Visualize the problems and disharmonies as a sickly green light. As you exhale, this light comes forth from your mouth, taking with it all the bad things. Do this until the light coming from your mouth is only golden. All the green is gone.
Now, as you continue to breath slowly and deeply, visualize yourself descending a staircase. With each
step you take, feel your consciousness spread out a little more. when you feel as though you are in tune
with your surroundings, come to the bottom of the staircase. Ahead of you see a long hallway that never stops. Staggered along this hall are doors.
Behind every door is a different peaceful scene. If you want tranquility, open a door to a tranquil scene. If you want to do a love ritual, open another door. Behind it you will feel the love that you will get from
your intended. For wealth, visualize you making money in what ever way, and it will happen so. When
you are ready, slowly walk up the stairs. You will feel your consciousness returning to normal as you go
higher. You will awake feeling renewed and confidant.
Cast of characters, or Material required: North - Womb of earth: Cauldron Planter small enough to fit in cauldron Apple, West: planter base, placed in front of cauldron adobe shell, placed on planter base Consecrated Moon Water East: Ritual sword (or athame).Oil for intuition ( I used Jasmine)Oil for Love ( I used Gardenia)South: Candle - colour should be what ever represents protection to you. External/Internal/Elemental: South/Body/Fire Words Spoken:(1) I place in your hands, this body to guide, This vessel's your temple, to be treated with pride.(2) By the blaze of your fire, held in my sword, A wall of protection, round this temple is formed. Action taken: The temple is your body and can extended to your ritual space if you so chose.=A0 (1) Place one half of the apple on the blade, and hold in flame.=A0This is a symbolic sacrifice of your body to theGoddess.=A0 (2) Once it has caught fire, use the "Blazing Sword" to bind your sacred ritual space in protection, by walking the quarters to the power of three.=A0 Let the apple burn to ashes.=A0 These ashes will be used in the rebirth described later. External/Internal/Elemental: West/Emotion/Water Words Spoken: The doorway between the parts of my soul, Open to join us, we are one - we are whole. As the tides of emotion, wrap us in warmth, I call to your powers, of intuition and love. Action taken: While saying the summons do the following: Fill the adobe shell, placed in the plant base, with ritual moon water (consecrated during the last full moon and stored in a dark bottle in the fridge).=A0 Continue to poor till the water is flowing through the holes or "passage ways" in the shell to join in a pool in the planter base. Add the powers of intuition (Jasmine Oil) and Love (Gardenia) - use which ever oils represent these things to you. Use some time to meditate on the ritual to come. Once you feel prepared for your death, continue - The Symbolic Death and Rebirth. Earth/Death Words Spoken:(1) So here at this altar, I lie in your arms, To join with you now (2) I give death for your cause. (3) I enter the earth, that the wisdom of old, Be felt deep within, the core of my soul. So mother Dark Moon, I give you my death, To be reborn on this night, which you have blessed. Action Taken:(1) Kneel/sit by the altar, and visualize yourself moving through the earth to a deep cave.=A0 This is where your initiation will begin.=A0 (2) Pick up the apple and "stab" it through the star with the sword as a symbolic death of your body, and spirit of olde.=A0 (3) Cut out the "star" (with seeds)within this half of the apple, and bury it in the planter within the cauldron.=A0 (Reseeding yourself within the earth's womb.)Air/Rebirth Words Spoken:(1) As I rise from the ashes, I vow not to forget, The journey I've taken (2) as I dedicate myself, To the path of the ancients and the responsibility it takes, To conjure the craft, for good and freewill. So as I enter the phase of growth, with the moon ,I hold to her vision, as a symbol of hope. Action Taken:(1) Sprinkle previously burned apple "ashes" over soil. (2) Anoint yourself with the sacred ash of the goddess on your third eye.=A0 After the words are spoken, do the following: Take a bite of the remaining apple, placing the rest as an offering for the goddess(es) and elements. Fire/Protection & Remembrance. Words Spoken:(1) Feel now my commitment, and ties to the olde,(2) Where intuition and emotion, are part of my tools. For the craft finds its birth, in the tides of the sea, She is governed by the moon, who now shall guide me. (3).Action Taken:(1) Hold adobe still in planter base, above your head (carefully :-), and over the cauldron.=A0 (2)Use shell to water apple seeds, refilling shell from the water in the base until it is empty.=A0 (3)Use the last few drops to anoint the sacred pyramid - both directions on your body - this is a personal thing - you may use your chakra points, or simply your third eye. You may wish to save candle, which should - as all things used in this rite - have been consecrated.=A0The candle can be used as a "wick" to light all ritual candles. Once close to burning out, use it to initiate a new "wick". The ritual should be proceed and followed by all regular rite functions as you see fit. Arrange altar and cast circle. Invite the God and Goddess.
"Once more I come to share my joy of life and to reaffirm my feelings for you, Lady and Lord. You have been good to me. It is right that I thank you for all that I have. You also know that I have needs and you listen to me when I call upon you."
Meditate and thank Goddess and God for gifts given and ask for things needed.
"And it harm none, do as you will. Thus runs the Wiccan Rede. I remember those words well. What ever I desire, what ever I would ask of you, what ever I may do; I assure that it will harm no one--not even myself. And I
remember that as I give so it shall return three fold. Give of myself--my love; my life--and I will be thrice
rewarded, but if I send forth harm and that too will return thrice over."
Chant, music, or song. Whatever moves you.
"Beauty and strength are in me, Lord and Lady, both. Patience and love; wisdom and knowledge are you
unchanging gifts."
A Full Moon or New Moon Rite may now be performed, followed by Sabbat observation, then cakes and ale.
This ritual will increase your magical powers and energy.
I altered this ritual almost entirely, choosing to use personal symbols as opposed to runes. (That is, symbols personal to the person practicing the ritual.) I consider this one of the most important rituals to perform, as it will truly increase your powers tenfold.
Direct passage from the author:
"The purpose of this ritual is to tap into your own personal life force and amplify it into a personal statement of self confidence and strength. Afterwards, when you feel yourself dragging in one area or another, concentrate on the appropriate symbol in the appropriate color for a bit, and you will find yourself tapping back into the energies you established in the ritual."
You will need:
A set of crayons including red, orange, yellow, green, sky blue, dark blue, violet, black, gray, white, silver, and gold.
A medium to work on--cloth or paper on which all the colors will show up.
A red candle Fiery scented incense, such as sage or cedar.
First, establish your working circle, after you've gathered all your materials together. Make sure you have a comfortable place to sit and draw. You'll be here a while.
Face the east and say:
"Spirits of the East, powers of Air, I ask that you be present at this spell-working. Help me find inspiration and visualize the symbols clearly that I may partake of their essence."
Face the south and say:
"Spirits of the South, powers of Fire, I ask that you be present at this spell-working. Help me find the spirit within to empower the symbols and tune into their color energy."
Face the west and say:
"Spirits of the West, powers of Water, I ask that you be present at this spell-working. Help me to seek the mystery within, that the symbols draw here may work upon my emotions for my Highest Good."
Face the north and say:
"Spirits of the North, powers of Earth, I ask that you be present at this spell-working. Help me to manifest the symbols in the third-dimensional world so that their energies may become a part of my physical existence."
Face the sky and say:
"Father Sky, I ask that you watch over me in this spell-working. Lend me your wisdom so that I may bring safely link my inner vision with the outer Self."
Place your hands on the earth and say:
"Mother Earth, I ask that you watch over me in this spell-working. Let me ground myself deeply in you and draw on your strength and energy to sustain me in my work."
Face your altar in the center of the circle and say:
"Sacred center, Spirit of all that is, of whom we are all only aspects, unite this sphere into a protected space for the spell-working I plan to do here."
Using the red crayon, visualize the color as life essence. Draw a human body, using a star-like shape.
Draw the first symbol that comes to your mind when you think of strength and power. (Draw it in red below the human body shape.)
Now take the orange crayon. This color represents vitality, potency, courage- draw the first symbol of these qualities that comes to mind slightly above and to the left of the last symbol.
With the yellow crayon in hand, concentrate on intellect, and your request for knowledge. Draw a symbol of this directly to the left of the human body shape.
Using the green crayon, visualize expansion, abundance, prosperity, growth, love. When you have felt its energy, draw a symbol of above and to the left of the human body.
Take up the sky blue crayon, and feel it's energy of expression, communication, spiritual gain, joy, and self-achievement. Draw a symbol of those directly above the central symbol (body).
Using a dark blue crayon, draw a symbol to the lower-right of the last symbol. This one should represent synthesis and inner wisdom. It should align with the green shape.
In violet, which represents spirituality and guidance, draw a symbol of those traits directly to the right of the red central sign.
White is used to link the life-force. Draw a symbol that represents a cycle or strong bond below and to the right of the central symbol.
This main pattern is complete. It should resemble a circle of colors and symbols surrounding the body.
Now, trace from the central body, directly to the left. Here, you should come upon the yellow symbol. To the left of that symbol, you will draw another sign, in silver. Hold the silver crayon and feel it's energy, imagine the journey you are embarking on, and draw a symbol of it.
Take the gray crayon and visualize flexibility, endurance, persistence and resolve needed to accomplish the changes you desire. When you feel it's energy, draw a symbol of those strengths at the very top/center. (above the human body, and above the light blue sign.)
The gold crayon represents activity. Draw your symbol of activation to the far-right (lined up horizontally with the silver symbol).
Using black, feel and see the changes you want occurring, the power of this ritual going to work. Draw a symbol of this directly beneath the red symbol under the body. (The bottom of the page, centered.)
Give blessings to all invoked gods, goddesses, and spirits, using a chant to each quarter like this:
"Spirits of the east, powers of air, thank you for your presence and aid in this work. Depart in peace, my thanks and blessings."
Open the circle, release the energy, and say:
"To all spirits visible and invisible that have been present in this ritual, depart in peace, my thanks and blessings."
Hang the resulting picture up somewhere where you can see it often. When you need any of the
specific traits energized in each symbol, simply think of that particular color and symbol as
depicted in your masterpiece!
Do this ritual any time. Use four candles in colors you like or feel to be powerful. Think carefully about your intention. State it where indicated. This intention can be fairly specific ("Bring XX into my life" or "Help me pass my driving test") or general ("I want to feel better today").By the powers of the cleansing fires, By the powers of the springing tides, By the powers of the soaring winds, By the powers of the growing earth,[State your intention or affirmation] Let my will be done. [Light first candle]By the powers of the rising sun, By the powers of the changing moon, By the powers of the dancing planets,[Repeat intention or affirmation] Let my will be done. [Light second candle]By the powers of the shining light, By the powers of the sheltering dark,[Repeat intention or affirmation] Let my will be done. [Light third candle]By the powers of the living Goddess,[Repeat intention or affirmation] Let my will be done. [Light fourth candle]Sit quietly in the glow of the candlelight and consider what you and the universe can do when you work together on some goal.
Winter is upon the Northern Hemisphere, the Full Moon breaks through the bleak night sky. The wolf walks through time and space, hearkened by the Witch's call to the Wolf Moon Ritual.
A Solitary sets the stage for calling upon the forces of Nature to protect and guard that which she holds precious. Upon the oak floor rests an altar made of mahogany, covered by a tightly woven linen cloth, so white it is almost blue -- much the same as the moon that glistens against the window pane. On this linen rests an ebony and silver sculpture of two wolves, male and female, flanked on each side by white candles. A cobalt crystal chalice, a clay pot of sea salt, a bell of dulcet tones are but a few of the beloved objects of her craft.
She begins.
Ritual Bath
Pour ¼ cup of salt into bath water:
"As salt and water combine do they purify and cast out all impurities and uncleanliness in this world. Let now only the powers of the pure creative forces enter to cleanse my soul and purify my spirit. So mote it be.."
Light white candle and sandalwood incense.
Bathe, don robe and extinguish incense and candle.
Room Purification
Using athame, stir 3 scoops of salt into water:
"Creature of Water, cast out from thyself all impurities and uncleanliness from this world. Creature of Earth, allow only those powers of the pure creative force abide in these surroundings."
Beginning in the East, move deosil around the room cleansing it:
"Be gone from here all negative thoughts and vibrations. Be gone by the power of this Pure Water and Hallow Earth. So be it."
Wolf Moon Ritual
Date: January Full Moon
Time: Night
A sculpture of two wolves, one male, one female, is in place.
Altar is placed in the North to bring all things into manifestation.
Upon the Altar the censer is in the East for Air,
the water bowl is in the West for Water,
the salt bowl is in the North for Earth,
the chalice is in the West for Water/nurturing,
the Wand is in the East for Air
and the Athame is in the South for Fire.
Standing before the Altar, breathe deeply and calm the mind, spirit and body.
Ring the bell three times, light the taper and use it to light the right altar candle:
"Holy art thou, Lord of the Universe, for you are power and might."
Light the left altar candle:
"Holy art thou, Lady of All Creation, for you are our life and light."
Pick up the Athame, hold it up in offering to the Goddess and dip it in the water:
"Creature of Water, cast out from thyself all impurities all impurities and uncleanliness of this world."
Dip the Athame into the salt and place three scoops of salt into the water:
"Creature of Earth, let only good enter to aid us in our prayer and work. So shall it be."
Hold the Wand in offering to the Goddess and draw down the Power to mark the Circle outline with it in a deosil fashion:
"I conjure and create thee, O Circle of Power which shall be a boundary between the world of men and the realm of the Mighty Ones, which shall preserve and protect all energy raised within. Blessed are the Lord and Lady who guard the gateway to everlasting life. So Be It!"
Return to the Altar, take several deep breaths, relax your body, mind and spirit and then point your Athame upwards in the direction of the Quadrant and visualize the Guardian approaching. Move to the Eastern Quadrant, pick up and light the blue Eastern candle:
"Hear me, O Mighty One, Ruler of the Whirlwinds, Guardian of the Eastern Portal. Let your essence be as one with me. as witness and shield at this gateway between the worlds. So mote it be.."
Hold the blue circle in offering, replace it and go to the South Quadrant. Pick up and light the red Southern candle:
"Hear me, O Mighty One, Ruler of the Solar Orb, Guardian of the Southern Portal. Let your light be as one with me as witness and shield at this gateway between the worlds. So Mote It Be."
Hold the red triangle in offering, replace it and go to the West Quadrant. Pick up and light the green Western candle:
"Hear me, O Might One, Ruler of the Mysterious Depths, Guardian of the Western Portal. Let your fluid be as one with me as witness and shield between the worlds. So Mote It Be."
Hold the green crescent moon in offering, replace it and go to the Northern Quadrant. Pick up and light the yellow Northern candle:
"Hear me, O Mighty One, Ruler of the Forest and Field, Guardian of the Northern Portal. Let your fruitfulness be as one with me as witness and shield at this gateway between the worlds. So Mote It Be."
Hold the yellow square in offering, replace it and return to the altar. Light the white votive:
"Hear me, O Mighty One, Ruler of the Heavenly Vault, Guardian of the Divine Kingdom. Let your wisdom be as one with ours. For as Above, so Below, so the Universe, so the Soul, as without , as within, let our rite now begin. So Mote It Be."
Return to the Altar, ring the bell three times:
"Lord and Lady of the Night, of mist and moonlight,
Eternal mother of the silver wheel, father at whose altar I now kneel,
Guide me in my every work and deed, and grant to me that which I need."
Hold up the working candle:
"Hear me Lord and Lady, the time of magic draws near.
Hear me, Lord and Lady, hear the invoking words I pray and appear,
For with arms outstretched, I stand in your light and beseech,
Grant me magic power this night.
Ayea, ayea, Goddess of the Moon,
Ayea, ayea, Goddess of the Moon,
Ayea, ayea, Goddess of the Moon,
Ayea, Ayea, Aeya!
Ayea, ayea, God of the Sun,

Light the working candle:
"Hail to thee, Great Mother, Divine Triple Muse, in thee are all things reconciled, In thee are all things held in harmony, in thee are love and truth united. Be thou clothed in light who shall be my guide through the ages. So Shall It Be!"
Offer the working candle to the East Quadrant:
"Let my thoughts be clear."
To the South Quadrant:
"Let my actions be strong."
To the West Quadrant:
"Let my emotions be controlled."
To the North Quadrant:
"Let my desires come into manifestation."
Petition the Goddess:
"Bless me, Lady, this I ask:
Protect me as I perform this task.
Help me to do this in a gracious and honorable manner.
Help me, Lady, I beseech, to protect this project
From those who would hinder its progress."
Place hands around the candle:
"Lovely Lady of the Moon, grant my needs and wishes soon."
Visualize the energy of the Lady and Lord manifesting itself in a way that allows fulfilling the desire. Ring the bell three times and bless the wine and cakes:
"Blessed be this wine, a gift from the Lord.
Blessed be this bread, a gift from the Lady.
Blessed be the Mother and Father of All and blessed are
All who partake from their bounty.
Hail to thee, Lord and Lady!"
Ring the bell three times and dismiss the Guardians widdershins beginning in the North:
"Hear me, O Mighty Ruler of the Forest and Field, Guardian of the Northern Portal. I thank thee for thy blessings and protection and bid thee hail and farewell."
Put out the Northern candle and move to the Western candle:
"Hear me, O might one, Ruler of the Mysterious Depths, Guardian of the Western Portal. I thank thee for thy blessings and protection and bid thee hail and farewell."
Put out the Western candle and move to the Southern candle:
"Hear me, O Mighty One, Ruler of the Solar Orb, Guardian of the Southern Portal. I thank thee for they blessings and protection and bid thee hail and farewell."
Put out the Southern candle and go to the Eastern candle:
"Hear me, O Mighty One, Ruler of the Whirlwinds, Guardian of the Eastern Portal. I thank hee for thy blessings and protection and bid thee hail and farewell."
Put out the Eastern candle and return to the Altar:
"Hear me, O Mighty One, Ruler of the Heavenly Vault, guardian of the Divine Kingdom, I thank thee for thy blessings and bid thee hail and farewell."
Put out the white votive (Spirit Candle). Taking up the Wand, begin in the North and draw the protective energy back into the Wand as the circle is banished by moving widdershins:

Return to the Altar and extinguish the left altar candle:
"Our Lady of Life and Light, I bid thee farewell this night."
Extinguish the right altar candle:
"Our Lord of Power and Might, I bid thee hail and farewell this night."
Allow the working candle to burn out completely and put away all other items.
