Awhile ago a friend of mine pointed out a recurring theme in my fiction. It was one that I hadn't noticed myself, but once she pointed it out I noticed it in stories she hadn't mentioned...and new plot bunnies...and stories that were in progress...and ideas that I didn't intend to write but like to tell myself...

I call it the Matchmaker Chris Theory. You see, in half of the *NSYNC fic I've written, Chris is either instrumental in bringing Lance and JC together, or he's the catalyst for the plot. In the other half, the others hardly appear.

Evidence?

A Tale Of Two Princes - Chris orders JC's kidnapping *and* assigns Lance to take care of him.
I Spy - It's Chris' idea to install the video cameras.
Performers - Chris insists they need a new member.
Riptide - Chris appears uncaring to JC, prompting the comfort moment.
Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down - It is Chris' practical joke.

The exceptions being Dear Lance, Love, JC, Scream, Flame, Baby, Flame, Private Rhythm, and Real.

Okay, so the theory was more compelling before I wrote Dear Lance, Love, JC and Real. //grins//
