Do You Want Jesus in Your Life?

You've heard of Jesus right?

Seems like everyone has HEARD of him...

But how many personally KNOW him?

The story goes something like this. In the beginning, there was God. We don't know how he got here, we just know that he has always been here. God created life. He created the sun, the moon, every star that hangs in the sky, the birds, the bees, and his finest creation, humans. He gave humans the right of choice. Either we could choose to follow him, or we could give in to sin and temptation. Things went fine until Eve found this one fruit, but that's another story.

Further along the line (I'm skipping alot here) God preformed a miracle. Mary, a virgin, became pregnant with Jesus. Jesus is the son of God, born of flesh. Jesus grew up on earth, to experience some of what we experience. Skipping more, Jesus taught many people many lessons about how a holy life should be lived. These teachings are recorded in something called a Bible. The Bible is an outline of how all followers-of-Christ should live their lives. Many things that I cannot tell you here are found in the Bible.

So Jesus began to do miraculous things. People began following the one true God.

Continuing further, something happened. The people turned against Jesus. He was hung on a cross. The Son of The Lamb died on that cross. His death could have been prevented, but see, it HAD to happen. It HAD to happen so that we could be saved. So that we could be forgiven of ALL of our sins, no matter how big or small. Jesus died for all the generations, including ours.

Jesus rose. Three days later. He rose from the dead, to go prepare a kingdom. This kingdom is Heaven. Heaven is a wonderful place, where life is eternal. There is no good way to describe Heaven. It is just too incredible to express in words. On the flip side of this perfect place, there is Hell. Hell is a place of torture, the punishment for sinners who never repented. I'm not trying to scare you, but honestly, who wants to live eternal live in a place where the pain is so unimaginable?

That's why we want to choose Heaven. It's simple to get a free pass into Heaven. While there are many tough things about being a Christian, the rewards are so much greater, and you "can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Do you want to know how to accept Jesus into your heart?

This is so easy to do, but you have to mean it. It has to be heartfelt. God will know wether you truly want him in your life or not. Saying you know God isn't enough. You have to live him.

First of all, pray. If you've never done this before, don't worry about saying the wrong things or sounding stupid. God knows what you want. He knows everything about you. And he LOVES you. He WANTS you to know him, he WANTS to know you.

When you're praying, this is what you want to do. You want to repent your sins. This means, you have to WANT God to forgive you of everything you have done wrong. Second, ask for forgiveness. If you really want to be forgiven, God will do this. Once your sins are forgiven, they're forgotten. They no longer mark you as a sinner.

Now, ask Jesus to come into your life. Tell him you want him to lead you in all of your decisions, and to help you live a holy life through him.

Need more help? Try saying this prayer. While these may not be your own words, you can make them your own. You just have to honestly believe in what you are doing. You have to really want it. And you have to continue living it.

"Dear Lord, Creator of all things. I know I have sinned. I want to be forgiven of all the bad things I have done in my life. I want Jesus to come into my heart. Help me to live your will, and keep me close to you. Amen."

That's it. It's simple right? Right!
