All Hallow's Eve

Shh, the children are sleeping,
The snails are slowly creeping
The forest comes alive...
As nocturnal hunters writhe.

Sleek leather streaks the sky...
And prey below will surely die.
Unknown eyes watch every move.
Bloodlust: they reel and swoon.

A charming spell, I'm sure.
This night will we endure?

The past returns to haunt us;
To remind of what once was.

Creatures roam the Earth;
Easily travel the massive girth.
Searching and watching and waiting,
Eternally patient, breath unabating.

They foretold and we heed the legend:
Be watchful of the Demon Regiment.

Ancestors; loved ones come to see
Offspring, alive and free
Dance with the Devil and live to tell
Tales of woe and visits from Hell.

Painted faces and bodies in disguise,
To blend with the evil: powerful tonight.

Souls gone mad, at dusk come hunting.
Power of Church and God they are shunning:
They want you; they want me.
Through our ruse, can they see?

Be true to you to surely be free...
And have a happy All Hallow's Eve!
