He Cried for Help, No One Listened

At six each morning
He's released from slumber
A prayer falls from his lips
"Eternal sleep, please come."

With terror in his heart he moves languidly along
It thumps within his chest ready to explode
It will do as it does as all things must
He washes his face and prepares to follow fate.

He steps into his shoes as no one else will
Cries for assistance gone unheard echo in his mind
He must press onward to only be shoved down
Their blue faces look away, deaf ears they have turned.

His mind has been battered, bruised is his tongue
He has been bled and fed excuses
His stomach turns with them
"Make them stop," no one listens, he prays...

He prays for Death to walk with him
Through the halls and collect his pain
Take them all and those who heard
But chose to look the other way.

The price to pay so they shall hear him
Doesn't matter any longer
Make them stop
He wants to be free.

Polished steel,
Oil,
Powder,
Lead...
