Nightmares Made Reality

Prologue

The darkness enveloped him like a forbidden lover, hiding yet somehow very intimate. Watching the couple in the park fooling around with each other, mere metres from him, made it even more so.

He loved the night, the way it hid him from sight, as he watched the couple collapse into each others arms, their bodies spent. Now was the perfect time.

He stepped on a twig, snapping it easily under his feet, making the couple move apart quickly. He stepped out of the comforting shadows and into the light of an almost full moon.

He smiled, eliciting a scream from the woman. Her partner, picking up his pants and covering himself with them, started yelling for him to go away.

With a snarl on his face, he lunged at the couple. The guy let out a surprised yelp, when he saw the knife flash in the bright moonlight. Stumbling back to the woman, the man wrapped his arms around her and held his lover tight.

He gave a triumphant smile, moving quickly to the cowering couple. The knife in his hand flashed through the air. The man screamed as the knife cut easily through his flesh.

The woman had died instantly, her blood spilt on the ground, like a river of crimson . The guy began to weakly crawl away, the ground was red underneath him from his own flowing blood. He let the man go, knowing that he wouldn't get far.

He silently moved back into the shadows, hidden once again by the darkness. Looking back, he saw the man fall back to the ground, as dead as his lover.

The bait was all set up. Now to catch his prey.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the other side of the park, sitting in his car, a witness to the double murder slammed his foot on the accelerator and drove himself to the nearest police precinct. Luckily he had friends on the force. Hopefully, they were working now. He would soon find out.

Part One

"Nice of us to get pinned with this case just because we know the witness. Too bad Liam was too far away to see properly, huh?" Don Schanke told his partner, who was silently looking out the window at the bloody crimescene.

"At least he remembered us, said we were good for the case." Nick was happy the hunter had remembered how Nick had saved his life.

The two detectives were in Nick's caddy, parked where Liam had been. Liam, an inspector and hunter from Ireland, had come straight to them after witnessing the murder.

"Why did he come back? The last I spoke to him, he was going home."

"Don't know. I don't think it has anything to do with one of their psychopaths coming here this time."

Nick couldn't tell his partner the truth about the 'psychopath' that had brought Liam to Toronto in the first place. It took Nick saving the hunters life before any trust was made between the two. A trust that could easily vanish as fast as it was formed. Nick found himself wanting to work on that trust. Be friends with Liam.

Nick turned to Schanke and smiled. His partner wouldn't believe half the stuff he could tell him. Especially the parts that were true.

"What?" Schanke asked, a frown crossing over his face. "Do I have makeup on my face? Man, I told Myra not to kiss me goodbye."

"No, you don't have makeup on your face." Nick said, chuckling at Schanke's outburst. "Come on. We have to eventually get out of the car and do some policework."

The two detectives opened the car doors and stepped into the hot summer air. Unusually hot for Toronto weather. It had been cool in the car, and they were reluctant to leave the only cool spot they both knew while working.

Walking towards the two dead bodies made Schanke break out in a sweat. Nick was glad he didn't. He imagined trying to explain that to every one. He grinned at the thought.

Reaching the crimescene didn't take that long. Nick took his time getting there though. This was one heck of a bloody case, making the hunger he had felt all night twice as worse. Schanke was with Natalie, everyone was around them. Nick stood over the body of the man, alone. Nick unconsciously licked his lips. He closed his eyes as they turned to their yellow hue. He wouldn't open them until they were blue. He tried to think of what it would be like trying to explain THAT!

When he finally got the vampire under control again and opened his eyes, it was to have Liam staring at him a few feet away. He was here as the prime witness. Nick had forgotten about that.

"A little too bloody for you, hey friend?" Liam said, not so much a question as a statement. The word friend had been said good-naturedly. Nick let out his breath.

"Just a bit." Nick said. Liam chuckled at this.

"Thought you'd be having a bit of trouble with this case. One reason why I went and got you and your partner to have a look. I had to see your reaction."

"Usually you wouldn't really notice one. I just picked a brilliant night to skip breakfast."

"You haven't fed?"Liam asked, a little surprised.

"No. Not yet. I slept in and would rather go hungry then get on the Captain's bad side. She can be a real hellcat when one of her Detectives is late." Nick said, rolling his eyes. He was uncomfortable speaking like this to the Irishman.

"A bit uncomfortable isn't it?" Liam said, reading Nick's mind exactly.

"Yeah, just a bit."

"Well, I still say you're different from the others of your kind. Any other I've known would have jumped at the chance of the free meal, here. You have control."

"Being in this line of work, I need it. Took a while, I'll admit that."

Nick looked at the ground in front of Liam's feet. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. His mind went to the full bottle under his car seat.

He wanted it now, but would have to wait until after the investigation. Liam opened his mouth, about to reply, when Natalie and Schanke walked over to them. They had finished with the woman and had moved on to the body of the man.

"You ok, Nick?" Natalie asked, knowing full well what was wrong with him.

Nick nodded yes.

"Nick and I have been having a little chat, haven't we?" Liam said, looking at the vampire. Nick nodded again. Liam knew that even though his eyes were blue, his eye teeth would be sharp dagger-like fangs. Liam also knew that the female M.E. knew as well.

Schanke made some snide remark to the reason why Nick wasn't talking, which was the exact opposite to what he was really feeling. Nick buried his head in his hands and gave a small growl.

"You sure you're ok? You don't look it." Nat asked him again. For a reply, Nick walked away and sat down on a nearby park bench. He was far enough away from the bodies to only just smell what had tempted him so much. He propped his arms on his legs and buried his head in his arms again.

Natalie started towards Nick, wondering why he had walked away. She was stopped in mid-stride by one of Liam's hands falling on her shoulder.

"Leave him. He needs to be alone for a bit. He'll be back when he's ready." The older man said. Natalie nodded.

Looking back down at the body, Natalie busied herself in her work. Liam had given her the time of death. He had also told her the way the couple had died, even though it was quite obvious to anyone who had seen a knife wound, how they had been killed.

The only thing this case didn't have was a good description of the murderer. All that Liam had given them was a tall man wearing all black who had a sharp knife.

Nick only came back when the bodies had been loaded up in body bags and put in the coroner's van, on their way to the morgue. Natalie noticed how horrible Nick looked.

Nick shrugged and sighed. "Anybody going to tell me what we have, or had, now?" He said, keeping his eyes downcast. Natalie filled him in. Nick nodded and slowly walked around the crimecene.

Liam followed Nick with his eyes. He noticed, every now and then, that Nick would turn to look at him. Neither wanted the trust between them gone, and it surprised Liam when he realised he wanted to be friends with a vampire.

Nick walked back to the other three. He told them he would drive them to their respected places. All accepted, of course. He had driven them all here after all.

He dropped Natalie off at the morgue, two bodies just lying around waiting to be dissected. Schanke went back to the precinct to fill out the necessary paperwork. Schanke told the Captin that Nick had gone home, after getting sick at the crimescene.

Pulling out of the precinct parking lot, he asked Liam where he was going.

"I was hoping to spend some quality time with my vampire friend."

When Nick didn't reply, Liam gave Nick the directions to the hotel he was staying at. He had come to Toronto for a vacation. Nick drove to the hotel.

Parking out the front, he turned to Liam. "We can talk tomorrow night, ok?" he told the hunter.

"Tomorrow then." Liam replied, stepping out of the cadillac and walking into the hotel.

"What have I gotten mysef into now?" Nick whispered to himself as he drove back home to his loft.

Part Two

The sound of the lift kicking into life jarred Nick out of his sleep. He was lying on the couch, a couple of empty bottles scattered on the floor. He rubbed his face, trying to wake up completely.

When the lift stopped and the door opened, Nick quickly jumped to his feet. Liam was standing there, looking at him. He chuckled at the startled look on Nick's face.

"Natalie gave me the number to punch in to come up here." Liam said as a greeting. "Did I wake you up?"

"Yeah."

"Why were you sleeping on the couch?"

Nick glanced down, embarrassed. The clothes he had worn the night before still on his body. He shrugged for an answer to Liam's question. Why did he sleep on the couch?

"Traitor!" Nick growled out the word all of a sudden. Liam suddenly looked shocked at his outburst. Nick laughed at that. "I wasn't talking about you. Natalie promised never to give my security code to anybody. She broke that promise." Nick shook his head.

"I was wondering what I had done wrong."

Nick yawned. Looking at his watch, he saw it was 10pm. Nick's eyebrows shot up. He let out a sigh. No use going to work now, he thought. Of course, the Captain did think he was sick.

Liam suddenly was busy looking around the loft he was in. It was massive. Also it was very dark, the blinds still down. He saw the piano and smiled. Looks like Nick was passionate about something. The piano had been used a lot by the look of it, and was kept in great shape. He looked at the motorcycle, a look of confusion coming over his face.

"Why do you have a motorbike inside?" he asked the vampire. Nick smiled, walked over to the item being talked about and sat on it's seat. He ran a hand over the fuel tank, gently.

"I'm fixing it. Well I was anyway, it's finished now. Now, it's just a piece of furniture until I take it outside again. I really need to take it for a spin, though. It's been sitting in here collecting dust for way too long."

Liam nodded, suddenly finding the empty bottles on the floor.

"Have a rough night?" the hunter said, pointing to the bottles.

"I was hungry." Nick replied, eyes on the ground. He had a look of shame on his face. Usually he would have had anywhere between a half to a full bottle, but he had had a lot of things on his mind.

"Why did you walk away from us last night?"

You know why!" Nick said, putting up defences, like a wall, around himself. This told Liam that the crimescene wasn't the only thing that pushed Nick over the edge.

"Don't blame the scene, Nick. You had yourself uder control again. When the other two had made their way to us, you had your fangs in place. What set that off?"

Nick looked around the loft, looking for signs that somebody might be listening to this conversation. He sat back down on his couch and began to fidget with his hands.

"I promise not to tell anyone. I can keep secrets, Nick. You of all people should know that." Liam sat down next to the uncomfortable vampire and turned all ears towards him.

Nick opened his mouth to say something, but closed it just as fast. He gave a sideways glance to Liam, sitting beside him and sighed. This was not only extremely uncomfortable, but extremely embarrassing as well. He sighed, realising that he would have to tell Liam, if not to get the man out of his home.

"This will sound really stupid." Nick said.

"Doesn't bother me."

"With all the blood spilt, my hunger and.....Natalie."

"What about the lass?" Liam asked. He chuckled when he saw Nick's cheeks turn pink. Being a vampire, he couldn't go red. If he had been human, Nick's face would have been the deepest shade of crimson the hunter had ever seen. "You have a thing for her, don't you."

Nick slightly nodded. He smiled. "The scent of her blood, apples and cinamon, it drives me crazy. Usually, I don't lose control like that. With all the blood and my hunger as bad as it was, I guess I kinda lost it."

"Was hunger all you were feeling?" Liam said, thinking that there must have been something else. By the way Nick suddenly began squirming in his seat, he realised he was right. Liam laughed at how embarrassed Nick was. Nick shook his head and buried it in his hands.

"Nick, apart from driving us there, you had hardly seen her before she had walked over to us."

"I know that!" Nick suddenly snapped out. He jumped to his feet and walked over to his piano. He played with the keys, not playing a tune of any sort.

Liam suddenly thought he knew too much about vampires. He knew that feeding was an intimate thing for a vampire, but he really didn't need to know what feelings the red, viscous liquid would make them feel. Of course, both bodies had been naked. Liam thought that Nick might have been able to smell the passion and the sex the couple had shared through the blood.

At the sound of the loft door slamming shut, and the lift kick into action, he realised that last comment had been too much. He would have to apologise. The last thing he needed was an angry vampire breathing down his neck.

When the lift stopped, Liam waited five minutes, before bringing it back up to the loft and hopping in. He would have to clean up this mess he had made with Nick.

When the lift stopped, Liam got out of it and into the hot air. He couldn't see Nick anywhere. After walking aimlessly around for a while, he realised Nick most probably had flown off somewhere.

Sighing, he realised the apology would have to wait for another night. Turning to walk back to his car, he suddenly felt a strong arm wrap around his body and a massive hand clamp over his mouth. A sodden rag was put to his nose, followed by dizziness, made him realise he had been drugged. Chloroform.

As the darkess consumed him, he wondered who the person who had drugged him was.

Part Three

Liam slowly came back to consciousness. Opening his eyes, he saw he was in a small room, with nothing in it but two beds, a toilet, a door and four solid walls. He sat up in the bed he was lying in and looked at the other one.

Nick's head could be seen on the pillow. His friend wasn't under the covers and looked extremely pale. As he watched, Nick moved to one side and groaned.

Nick opened his eyes, his vision bleary from the large shot of curare that someone had given him. He had a massive headache and felt ill. Side effects of the drug he had felt before. He could hear Liam's heartbeat across the small room. The sound thundered in his ears, louder than it should be. It was making his headache worse.

"Can you try not to make your heart beat so loud?" Nick asked the hunter.

"I don't feel like dying today, Nick." Liam replied. "Why? Are you hungry?"

"Far from it. I feel ill. I was drugged. My head hurts and the sound of your heart beating is making it worse."

"I was drugged too, but I don't feel ill."

"Good for you." Nick said, sarcasm dripping in his voice. His stomach flipped suddenly. "I'm going to be sick." he said. He fell off the bed and crawled to the toilet, where he promptly threw up. He retched for a while, stomach now emptied of all he had drank the night before. He flushed the toilet, rubbed his head in his hands and groaned.

"I swear I am going to kill whoever did this to me!" Nick vowed. He still felt awful, he would until the drug was completely out of his system. He broke out in a sweat.

"You don't look too good. Why don't you just sleep it off?"

"Can't sleep. It's still night now anyway." Nick replied. He had always had trouble falling asleep at nighttime. When he was having nightmares, he sometimes got to the point where he would practically drop while working, but couldn't, his vampiric nature keeping him awake until the sun was up and shining in the sky. Nick suddenly felt he was caught outside after sunrise. Very trapped.

"Is it nearly sunrise?" Liam asked. He, himself couldn't bear the suns rays, although he rose earlier than vampires would. Just one thing to remind him of the bite he had gotten from a vampire when he was a lad. Reason he had become a hunter in the first place. He had hated becoming what he was.

"I don't know. I can't think straight with my head feeling like it has a stake stuck in it." Instinctively, he knew it had risen. He had been knocked unconscious for most of the night.

Crawling into the empty bed, he buried himself under the sheets and lay there. He doubted he would be able to sleep, even with the sun up and shining.

He turned to one side, staring at his fellow prisoner and smiled. He started to laugh, but stopped when it shot daggers into his head.

"Funny way to get us to stay in the same room with each other for over a half hour."

Liam chuckled, seeing Nick's point. "I'm sorry for making you angry. I shouldn't have said what I did. That was very stupid of me."

"You have no idea how completely humiliating and embarrassed I was by the whole conversation. What you said pushed me too far. You know, if I hadn't gone outside to calm down, we probably wouldn't be in this mess right now."

"Yeah. And I would probably be a drained husk on your loft's living room floor."

Nick shook his head. "I wouldn't have killed you. I wouldn't have even bit you."

"That's good to hear. I have an awful feeling we are going to be locked in here for quite a while. I really don't want to worry about my life, because my roommate gets hungry."

Nick kept silent at that. As long as Liam didn't try to wake him up, his friend should be fine. Nick would rather starve to death, if that was possible, than feed off a human. Hunter or no.

"If I fall asleep, do me a favor and don't wake me up. The vampire wakes up in me first."

"OK. As long as you stay on your own side of the room when you do wake up."

Nick smiled. "Deal!" Nick's head became clearer, the drug wearing off, while Nick sweated it out of his system. Now he felt very sticky and was beginning to wish their was a shower in this little room.

"I can't hear anything!" Nick suddeny realised and stated it out loud. His very sensitive ears wreren't picking up any sounds outside their cell. He suddenly felt deaf without the usual background sounds he could usually hear. "If it wasn't for your voice and heartbeat, I could swear I had gone completely deaf."

"Maybe it's the steel like metal this room is made of. Even your hearing can't break through if it's thick enough. I don't think even a vampire would be able to bust the door down."

"Do you have any idea who has kidnapped us? I have a very strong feeling it was a vampire."

"Whoever it was, they were strong, too strong for a mere mortal. I think you are right about it being a vampire. I never saw who it was, it came at me while my back was turned."

Nick and Liam talked about a lot of things throughout the day. Why had they been drugged and dragged here? Neither of them could come up with a real answer to the two questions plaging their minds. One thing for sure happened, however. Nick and Liam had become fast friends. Nick got more comfortable talking about himself with Liam around. Liam told Nick about his wife and child, the child having children of his own now.

"What about your family Nick. Do you remember anything of them from when you were mortal?" When he got no answer, he looked to the blonde vampire, only to realise he had fallen asleep.

Following suit, Liam decided rest would be a good thing. He was asleep in no time.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Watching his two prisoners falling asleep, Malcolm chuckled to himself. When the vampire had sensed the hunter, Liam, nearby he had killed the couple in the park. He knew the hunter would see it. He knew that the hunter would go directly to Nick Knight. The vampire who fancied himself a cop. That one had to pay.

Malcolm had laughed himself silly when he watched the events that had happened at the murder site. The way it had affected Nick had been quite amusing.

Listening in on the conversation the next night, outside Nick's loft, had amused him even more. The thought of Nick being turned on by the mess he had made making him go into another giggling fit.

He planned his revenge. He was going to get Nick to kill the hunter. That would get the old man off his back.

Malcolm would then slowly watch Nick die, consumed by raging hunger, too weak to even bite. That was what this was ultimately about. Watching Nick suffer the way he had. Nick wouldn't survive like he had, however. Nick was definitely going to die for all he had done to him.

Oh yes! Revenge, indeed, is sweet.

Part Four

LaCroix was sifting through CD's in his soundbooth at the CERK radio station. It was roughly half past ten when he had felt it.

Through the link he shared with Nicholas, he could feel his son's anger and humiliation, mixed with a little embarrassment. LaCroix smiled, trying to think of what would make his Nicholas feel like that.

The smile slipped from his face when the link died. It wasn't severed, so he knew his son was still alive, but something bad had happened. A moment of panic was felt before the nothingness that he felt now instead of his favorite childe.

Immediately, LaCroix cued an old episode of his Nightcrawler show to play and flew to his favorite's loft. Apart from the bottles scattered on the floor and a strange scent in the room, nothing looked to be out of place.

He followed the strangers scent to a spot outside, where it suddenly came to a stop. A strange smell could be found here, however. Looking down, LaCroix found a wet rag and sniffed it for a second. He knew this smell. It was chloroform. Apparently, Nicholas must have had a friend over when they were both drugged. Only problem was chloroform shouldn't work on vampires. So what happened to Nicholas?

After a quick search of the area, LaCroix found a needle with a few drops of some kind of liquid inside. He pocketed it and went to see if Nicholas' partner knew anything about his son's disappearance.

Also, the lady Doctor, Natalie Lambert might be able to confirm what was in the needle.

Flying to the precinct Nicholas worked at and finding a safe place to land, he walked into the noisy surroundings of the police precinct. He had yet to find the reason for his son's interest in working in such a noisy place.

LaCroix walked straight to Nicholas' desk, seeing his son's partner sitting at the desk next to it. The detective, Donald Schanke, was busy working on a police report.

"Where was Nicholas earlier tonight?!" LaCroix demanded more than asked the question. He was not surprised when Schanke jumped almost a foot in the air.

"At his loft, why? Isn't he there now?" Schanke asked the man he knew to be the Nightcrawler. This strange man and his partner were friends, although Schanke always wondered why.

"He is missing. He has been drugged and carried off somewhere. Someone else was with him at the time. Do you know who that other person might be?"

"Yeah. His names Liam. He's Irish. Nick and him are friends."

"Liam? The same Liam who helped you and Nicholas catch that killer a while back?"

"The same one, yep. Why?"

LaCroix never answered. Nicholas was friends with a hunter, how stupid could the boy get.

"Damn him!" LaCroix snarled and moved swiftly out of the precict. He took to the air again, heading to the Coroner's office where Dr. Lambert worked. He had left behind one very confused Schanke.

Walking straight into the room Natalie was in, LaCroix went to her desk and sat down. The coroner was staring at him with wide eyes. She obviously knew who he was. She finished the autopsy she was in the middle of, put down her mini-recorder and demanded to know what he was doing in her office.

Standing up, he slowly walked towards her. He held the needle up and she looked at it, confused.

"I would like to know what was inside this. Can you do that?"

"I would need to send it to a..."

"Can you do it now?!"

"It could take a while, but yes."

"Good. I need to know if it is a drug that could work on vampires. Can you figure that out too, good doctor?"

"I would need a blood sample."

LaCroix stared down at her. Shouldn't she have vials of Nicholas' precious blood around here? Holding out his arm, he gave her a sample of his blood, purely for seeing if the drug would work. The things he does for Nicholas, yet the brat doesn't respect him.

He stayed at the lab, watching Natalie work for most of the night. He was just about to leave when Natalie said she was done.

"It is curare. Sometimes used in animal tranquilizers. It is deadly to humans, but I have found out that it would work on vampires, probably knocking them unconscious for a while. A long while for the dose that was in this. Why did you want to know?"

"Because, my dear, it was Nicholas who was injected with the drug."

LaCroix watched as a look that looked remarkably like worry crossed over her features.

"Is he ok?"

"I do not know. He is still unconscious, but I wanted to make sure it was this drug that did it."

"Can you find him?"

"Not before the sun rises and definitely not before he wakes up."

Natalie went to a chair and sat down. God! Nick was hurt. Hopefully, he would be alright. She picked up the phone ready to call Schanke to put an APB out on him, when LaCroix suddenly put one hand over his head and the other over his stomach. Forgetting that the man was a 2000 year old vampire, Natalie helped him to a chair.

"Are you ok?" she asked.

"It is not me." LaCroix replied. Looking at the woman in front of him, he realised just how much she loved his Nicholas. She would do anything for him. "It is Nicholas. He is ill."

LaCroix shut the link with his favorite son and took a deep breath.

The drug effects would leave his son soon. Until tomorrow LaCroix would not bother his Nicholas.

Suddenly disappearing from the morgue, he flew back to the Raven. He was staying there, in one of the apartments above the club. The sun was rising and he needed to sleep if he was going to find his son that night. He would need his strength.

Part Five (Adult Part N/f, Nick/ female)

There wasn't a whole lot for them to do in their room. Nick had planned to go see LaCroix the night they had been kidnapped and had unconsciously put a deck of cards into his pocket. Luckily, they were still there.

"Full house!" Liam declared and laid his hand down. Nick showed his hand quietly. He had lost that round and the three before it. They had both only just woken up, so they hadn't been playing for very long. Nick was playing half asleep and it was affecting his game.

"Wait until I'm properly awake and I will flog you."

Liam chuckled. "I don't doubt that one bit."

Nick picked up the cards and began to shuffle them. He proceeded to deal out their cards and looked closely at his hand. He was determined not to throw away anything he should keep like he had done their past couple of game. 4 kings and one ace. He had dealt himsel a 4 of a kind. Good, that would do nicely, he thought to himself.

Liam picked up three cards. Nick smiled. Laying down his cards, Liam doing the same, Nick raised his hands above his head in exagerated triumph.

"Yes!" he yelled out, making Liam chuckle.

"Why so enthusiastic about one win?"

"It's better to be enthusiastic over the game than to dwell on other things. I don't like being confined. It makes me edgy." Nick proved this point by jumping off the bed and started to quickly pace the floor of their room. Back and forth, back and forth. His eyes flipped to their golden hue and he flew hard into the door.

"Let me out!" he screamed as he punched wildly at the door. He tried his hardest to break the door down, but he didn't so much as put a dent in it.

His punches got slower and had less energy behind them, after a while. He slid to the floor, resting his head on the cool metal of the door, and closed his eyes. God, how he hated to be locked up.

Suddenly hearing a click, Nick was pushed back when the huge door was opened. A young, blonde human girl walked in and smiled at the vampire.

She was carrying a tray of food of which she handed to Liam.

Walking seductively over to Nick, she traced the vein in his neck with pale fingers, making Nick throw his head back in pleasure. This girl obviously knew all the hotspots on a vampire, very well. He couldn't stop her. He didn't want to stop her. The girls hands went down to the growing bulge in his pants and gently started to stroke and knead him through his pants.

Nick moaned and pulled the girl against him, bringing her mouth to his.

Her tongue went straight for the very sesitive area just behind his extended fangs. He gasped then groaned into her mouth. The sensations the girl's tongue were producing driving him wild. The hand had gotten inside his pants and was now slowly moving it's way up and down his erection.

He threw back his head, a moan which turned into a gutteral growl coming out of his mouth. He wanted her, needed her. NOW! It had been a long time since he had last had sex and continually being around Natalie had made him frustrated practically all the time.

He had reached his climax, but didn't want to bite the girl to find his release. His eyes, glowing red with lust, were closed tight along with his mouth. The pleasure the girl was producing was begining to feel tortuous.

Nick opened his eyes and mouth, ready to strike into flesh, when she was suddenly pulled off of him.

A vampire stood above him, grinning a fangy smile that made him look like a madman. He took the girl, biting deep into her neck. Not much was taken and it was obvious that the girl had had that done to her before. Nick moaned, wanting to be this stranger.

Looking down at Nick, the stranger bowed, lips dripping with a little of the girls blood. Just before the girl and the vampire disappeared, the stranger had to make Nick feel worse by showing him the bleeding side of the girls' neck. Both Nick and Liam heard the door being locked again. Nick moaned in a pitiful way.

"The vampire held me. I couldn't stop her. I'm sorry." Liam said, his untouched meal still lying in front of his feet. Nick stared at the other man for a couple of seconds before looking away. He tried to get his body to calm down, but couldn't. He growled and bit into his wrist. He grunted, his whole body shaking with his release. He couldn't slow his breathing down.

Getting up from his positon on the floor, he slunk to his bed and laid himself down on it. This was the most shameful thing ever to happen to him and he could have stopped it if not for his own frustrations.

His shame quickly turned to anger. With a scream of rage, he started beating at the walls. He didn't stop until he felt that every single bone in both hands was broken. He flung himself back onto his bed and buried his head in the pillow. He didn't want Liam to see him.

A hand touched Nick on the shoulder, making the vampire tense up."Go away!" Nick mumbled into the pillow

"I don't blame you for being angry. I would be too. Don't hurt me for saying this Nick, but he wanted to see your reaction. I think there is a camera somewhere in this room. He wants to see you suffer. He is teasing you."

"He can tease me all he damn well wants, just not sexually." Nick sighed. "I don't like the thought of being raped, especially by a woman."

"Did you want her?"

"Not to start off with, but then she started to touch me. I was frustrated,I didn't want her to stop." After a long pause, Nick took his head away from the pillow and looked at Liam. Guilt showing slightly in the vampire's eyes. "I wanted her. I couldn't say 'stop' or 'no'. I never even realised there was someone else in the room."

"You're afraid, aren't you."

"Of what exactly."

"Being locked up? Being raped? Your hunger getting out of control?"

"You know me too well." Nick said with a smile. "I have been locked up before, but as a vampire I could always get myself free. When I was mortal, I was captured during the crusades. I was continuously frightened for my life and for the lives of the men who fought with me."

"That explains the locked up part." Liam said gently. "Go on."

"Men that were friends of mine were raped. They would squirm underneath the weight of the man on top of them. It scared the hell out of me. All I thought when I saw one of the rapists coming and the torn up guys that had been taken before was 'Oh God! They'll be after me today!' Being raped has got to be about my biggest fear. More so than being caught outside after sunrise with absolutely no shelter. It has been one thing that has never happened to me though. I escaped from that God awful place and was picked to be brought across not long after. Even my master hasn't raped me. Thank God for small miracles."

"It must have been terrible. I'm glad you got out ok.

Nick smiled. "If I ever was taken by one of those men, I probably wouldn't be here now."

"I believe that. You would rather have died than be meat for some other guy's pleasure." Liam said, smiling gently. He rubbed Nick's shoulder in a friendly gesture before grabbing the cards again. "Come on. Let's play. Keep our minds off certain things."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Malcolm smiled. So that would be the way to break Nick. Funnily enough, he had thought about it before. After all, he was a man's man. The girl he had used to tempt Nick was a lover to one of his followers. The girl liked to have a vampire lover.

Tomorrow night, he would have his fun. He hoped it would hurt Nick very badly. He gave a chuckle and kept a huge grin on his face. The General wouldn't be able to save his son this time. Malcolm had the perfect drug that would make Nick disappear off the elder's radar.

Part Six

Nick woke up early. The sun still high in the sky according to his senses. He turned around in his bed to look at Liam. The other man was still fast asleep. His heartbeat slow and regular.

Nick got up and started pacing the length of the room. He doubted he would be able to go back to sleep. He growled low in his throat. His hands were now healed, the broken bones mending themselves while Nick had slept. The action had drained him.

His hunger was twice as bad as it should be. He wished for his fridge and the green bottles inside, making his problem worse. He groaned out loud. The sound of Liam's heartbeat being the only thing he could hear was driving him nuts.

Nick, not being able to stand it, walked over to his friend and roughly shook him awake.

"What the hell was that for?!" the Irishman said, more asleep than awake.

"Talk to me. The sound of your heartbeat is a little too much for me right now. Not without other sounds accompanying it."

"You hungry? You can have what I didn't eat last night." Liam replied, rolling over showing his back to Nick.

"In case you have forgotten, I'm a vampire. I can't stomach normal food, remember."

"What are you doing awake anyway. The sun's still up, I'm sure of that."

"My hands. I broke them remember? My body automatically healed when I was asleep. It takes both energy and blood to heal. I threw up the entire contents of my stomach when we were put in here, so I wasted my own to heal. It leaves me weak and hungry. Usually my hunger wouldn't be this bad, but it feels twice as bad. It woke me up. I can't get back to sleep."

"Breaking your hands wasn't exactly a good idea was it?"

"No, and if I don't feed soon, I'm going to do something even stupider."

"All of a sudden the reason why I am here makes perfect sense. Anything you can do to stop yourself from craving blood?"

"Yeah, you not saying blood would help a whole lot," Nick snapped. His fangs were in place and he couldn't retract them. "At the moment it is all I can think about, not having to have to hear all about it would help a great deal."

"Be thankful you don't have to go on a case like the last one." Liam stated, watching Nick's eyes flip to red. He knew he had said the wrong thing.

Nick lost control when his thoughts turned to the crimescene. He now realised what a total waste of food it had been. He lunged at Liam, pinning the Hunter to the wall. He roughly turned Liam's head to the side, exposing the neck, ready for him to strike. A shudder of delight went through Nick as his fangs pierced skin. The hot blood gushing into his mouth, flaming his hunger more than satisfying it. Nick heard the crack of bone and he let go of the neck and jumped back.

Nick suddenly came to his senses in time to see Liam collapse onto the ground. Nick looked shocked. God! What have I done? he thought wildly to himself. His arm hurt and he realised it was broken.

"Liam?" Nick whispered, crawling to his friend on hands and knees. He started to shake the man. There was a very weak heartbeat. "Come on. Wake up , please! I'm sorry." At one stage, Nick heard the heartbeat stop altogether. Before he knew what to do though, it started again, beating wildly in Liam's chest.

Slowly shaking him, Nick called out Liam's name once again. Liam groaned and opened his eyes, slowly. Nick pulled the man towards him in a hug.

"God! I thought I had killed you. I'm so sorry! I had no idea what I was doing!"

"Get off me. Your squashing me, I can't breathe." Nick let go and watched Liam cough and splutter until he was breathing well again. Liam stayed on the floor, too weak to get to his feet.

"I'm so sorry." Nick said again.

"Will you stop saying that. I heard you the first time." Nick was about to reply, when the door to their cell was opened again.

The blonde girl from the night before walked in. "Oh no. Not tonight. Go away!" Nick demanded. She smiled at him. A tray full of food was given to Liam, who started to greedily shovel food into his mouth. His body needing energy to replace the recent loss of blood.

The girl smiled at Nick again, but instead of seducing him like the night before, she handed him a full bottle. She then abruptly turned around and walked out of the room, closing and locking the door behind her.

Nick, still hungry, drained the bottle. It took away the edge to his cravng, but it was by no way far from gone. The bottle had been full of human, he could tell that, but it didn't taste right. He didn't have long to ponder why. As soon as Nick felt the sun set, the door opened and the vampire stepped in.

Nick didn't like the look the young vampire was giving him. Nick suddenly got a panicked look about him. He didn't like this vampire at all.

"Nick! So glad to get you alone. Well, almost. Of course your friend here should rightfully be dead, but he did his patrt just by getting you on this case. He had been following me, lost me naturally, I used the time he was driving by the park to kill that couple. Who would have thought that a vampire would leave behind so much blood." He threw back his head and laughed crazily.

"That bottle was drugged you know," the vampire continued. "It will stop you from healing, it will make you weak and it will block your link to your master. Now, for introductions. My name is Malcolm Black. I'm sure your master has talked about me at one stage. He abandoned me to go back to you, you know. I didn't even learn how to hunt. I almost starved to death. I would have too, if I didn't get help from an older vampire. It was all your fault that he had abandoned me to die. You shall pay for that."

Nick gasped as he remembered LaCroix telling him he had left a fledgling to die. He had said he was nuts and wouldn't be able to survive without help. Nick suddenly felt scared.

Malcolm smiled as fear ran across Nick's face. "Your Hunter friend should be killed, but I'm going to let him go. Blindfolded so he can't see where we are of course. I'm sure the search for you is underway already. Now it will be a race of time. Will your friends find you dead, or will they find you starved. Either way, someone's going to die." Again that maniacal laugh was heard, ringing off the walls and echoing dreadfully loud.

Two vampires suddenly entered the room and picked up Liam. A blindfold was put over Liam's eyes and the Hunter began to scream and kick wildly as he was dragged out of the prison of a room.

Nick could now feel the drug at work in his body. Before his link with LaCroix was blocked fully, Nick screamed down it for help. A few seconds later the link was completely blocked.

Suddenly, Malcolm was on top of him. Nick struggled, but was losing the fight. The drug had completely taken over his body now. As his hands were tied, Nick struggled all the more, but his hands were forcefully put behind his back and a blindfold was put over his eyes. A blow to the back of the head left Nick momentarily too stunned to move.

He felt himself being dragged to another room not too far away from the small room. He didn't want to even imagine the terrible things his captor was going to do to him.

For the first time in a long while, Nick wanted his master here. Now, he couldn't even feel LaCroix though their link they shared. Hopefully, he would be found.

Part Seven

Natalie was finishing up her work for that night, her spirits low. She was going nuts with Nick's disappearance. Schanke was out looking for him with half the police force. LaCroix, with his link with Nick was also helping in the search. So far, the cops knew nothing and LaCroix could only tell her that 'Nicholas was still in the Ontario region'.

Packing up and walking out into the street, she thought she would head to the precinct to see if Schanke had finally found some clue to Nick's presence. She never realised the car was tailing her until it was right beside her.

A darkly tinted window rolled own, letting her have a view of the passenger of the car. He looked like he belonged in a gangster movie. She stopped walking and the car rolled to a stop.

"What do you want?!" Natalie asked, her voice wavering slightly.

"Are you Natalie Lambert?" the gangster look-alike asked her. He smiled when she nodded. "I have a present for you from our boss, Malcolm Black."

The guy got out of the car, making Natalie step back. She didn't feel like getting shot today. The man, however, opened up the back seat of the car and threw a person to the road. The car then sped off.

Natalie didn't know what to do. She was panicking. Moving towards the body when it started moving, Natalie let out a gasp when she realised that it was Liam.

"Liam? Are you ok? Can you stand up?"

"Yes, no and no in that order." Liam groaned.

Natalie helped him to his feet and together they walked to her car. She started to drive to the precinct. With any luck, Liam could tell them where Nick was.

"What happened? Is Nick ok?" Her worry for Nick was growing now that Liam was back without him.

"Some vampire who calls himself Malcolm Black kidnapped me and Nick. Apparently Nick pissed the man off without even having seen him before. We were reasonably ok, until this afternoon anyway."

"What happened this afternoon?"

"Let's just say that Nick's bite is worse than his bark." Liam rubbed at the new set of fang marks on his neck. "The bastard almost killed me. I had to break his arm just to get him off me. That's the reason I can't walk. Blood loss does weaken one."

"Nick bit you?!" Natalie asked, surprise evident in her voice. Nick didn't even drink human blood anymore. Not that you know of any way, a little voice in Natalie's head said. Natalie was suddenly angry with him.

"Yes. He did. He was starving and I was stupid enough to bring up that last crime scene. I drove him over the edge." He suddenly sounded very embarrassed. "I think I'm going to pass out."

Natalie stopped the car, reached round into the backseat and grabbed her doctor's bag. She was suddenly very glad she carried it around with her.

She grabbed a pack of O negative blood and a line to hook it up to him.

"Hold out your arm." She ordered the older man. He did so. Natalie hooked up the bag and watched as the blood made it's way into Liam's veins. His body was taking it in faster than a normal human would.

"Hold the bag up ok? I'm driving us to the precinct."

By the time they had reached the precinct, the pack was empty and Liam was a whole lot more chipper. He had filled her in on the events that had happened while he was being held prisoner.

"It was Malcolm that committed the double murder. He wants to see Nick dead. He was going to torture the poor lad when I was dragged out of there kicking and screaming for all the good it did us."

"Poor Nick! I'm glad I wasn't locked up with you. I would have went nuts. Do you know where you were held?"

"No idea. I was blindfolded for a while. I did, however, get the number plate of the car when they threw me to the concrete. I don't think they know that."

Both people stepped out of Nat's car and walked into the precinct. Sitting at Nick's desk was LaCroix. He was staring at Schanke, while the other man tried his hardest not to notice. Liam was on sudden alert.

Natalie walked to the two men and stood in between them. She glared at both of them, not caring who, what or how old they were.

"Nicholas is dead." LaCroix stated, icy blue eyes blazing in anger and something that could possibly be grief.

"He isn't dead, LaCroix." Natalie replied.

"The link severed. He is dead!"

"He was drugged. Liam was dumped outside the Coroner's Building. He got the number plate of the car."

LaCroix turned his eyes towards Liam. "I don't listen to anything a Hunter has to say. They are no good. Not worth the blood in his veins."

"Say that to Nick." Natalie spat out, anger evident in her voice.

"Why? He wouldn't do that to anyone." LaCroix retorted, voice lowering a few knotts, anger flashing in his eyes.

"If you don't think I'm any good then I'll give Detective Schanke here the plate number and leave. I've got to tell you something first though."

"What?!" LaCroix growled.

"Nick is still alive. He's hungry and in for a very rough time, however. He's been waiting for you. He want's you to save him. He's been talking about you non stop."

"He said that?"

"Yes! He also thought I was worth the blood in my veins too." In a discreet manner, he showed LaCroix and Natalie the new set of teeth marks in his neck.

"How can I know it was Nicholas who did that to you? It could have been your captor. Have you got a name for him?"

"His name is Malcolm Black. He has a major grudge on Nick. Said that you dumped him before he could fend for himself because Nick needed you at that time."

"How do I know it wasn't this Malcolm Black, then?"

"Nick's word would be the only way. I want him out of there as well. I am afraid that Malcolm will break him."

"How would he do that?" Natalie asked. She looked to LaCroix who was thinking the same thing.

"We were talking. About what we are most afraid of. Malcolm could have overheard us."

LaCroix's face filled with an understanding of sorts. He knew what the Hunter was talking about. He also knew what would happen to his precious Nicholas if he did not find him soon.

"Um, hello? If you are through with this little chat, can I have the number plate to this car."

The other three whirled to face Schanke. They had forgotten the Detective was there. Schanke suddenly felt like he had materialised right in the middle of a secret conversation. He hadn't truly understood a word of it.

"I will trust you this once, Hunter. If Nicholas is dead or you take us to a dead end, you will mysteriously disappear and will never to be heard of again."

"Fine." Liam replied. He turned to Schanke and gave the Detective the plate number. Schanke went to tell the Captain that he had a lead to find Nick and walked outside to his car. The other three followed. LaCroix told Natalie that he would patrol from the air and disappeared in his normal fashion. Liam climbed into Schanke's car and Natalie hopped back in hers.

Hopefully, they would find this car before dawn.

Part Eight
(Rape! You have been warned. If you don’t want to red this part, I suppose you could skip straight to the next when it’s posted.)

Nick bit into his lip to stop himself from crying out loud. The knife was coated in garlic juice and was now slicing another cut on his arm. His lips were bleeding profusely now.

His body had been stripped of clothes. He was hanging down from the ceiling by his arms, body a few feet from the ground.

His body had cuts practically all over his arms and legs. Also his torso and back were covered in cuts. The garlic had entered his bloodstream making his whole body feel like it was on fire. The drug raging through his system was stopping his wounds from healing as much as they would. The garlic didn't help in that department either.

Nick sighed in relief as he saw Malcolm put down the knife. Nick gasped as he felt his like his back was suddenly on fire. Malcolm was spraying his back with a child's water-soaker. Holy water getting into wounds already there and burning him where there wasn't. His body was riddled in pain. Nick whimpered out loud, but he promised himself he wouldn't scream. He didn't know if he could keep that promise for too long, though.

His eyes widened as Malcolm walked in front of him again. He started to do the same to his front what he had done to his back. Nick closed his eyes shut and clamped his mouth closed so tight, he thought his teeth would all shatter.

When Nick opened his eyes, it was to have Malcolm gazing at him. The madman's eyes were gleaming yellow and Nick realised that Malcolm was getting off on torturing him.

Nick began to struggle against the chains that were holding him up. He was too weak to break them. The motion brought more pain to his body, as the steel dug into his wrists. He needed to get out of here, fast! Again, he tried to call out to LaCroix, but the link was still down.

The knife was picked up again and a small cut was made just above his groin. He whimpered again. God! That hurt! his mind screamed. His lower body was hurting more than his top half now.

Two cuts were made on each of his nipples. Nick's breathing picked up speed.

Malcolm smiled sickly at Nick, before walking behind him. He felt the knife cut into flesh on each side of his arse. His whole body tensed. His breathing became haggard. The knife was being pressed into the small of his back now.

Nick thought that nothing else would happen, as Malcolm had stopped the cruel torture to his body, when he felt his back cheeks being pulled apart.

Nick began to struggle wildly. "No!" he screamed. Not there! But Malcolm put the knife gently between his cheeks and suddenly moved it down viciously, cutting deep into him.

Nick screamed out loud as pain wracked through his whole body. Screamed again as the knife cut all the way down the length of his spine, this wound very deep. This was too much for Nick. He wondered who could be this sick.

Suddenly the torture stopped. His arms were set free from their chains and Nick fell crashing to the ground. Nick sighed in relief. He was expecting to have his eyes covered and dumped into the, now familiar, small room.

He was surprised when he was pushed hard into a table. His hands were pinned in front of his body in titanium shackles. He had to lean forward to ease the pain it left in his strained arm muscles.

"You have a beautiful arse Nick. Anybody ever tell you that before." Malcolm asked, slapping each of the wounds on his cheeks eliciting a cry of pain from Nick.

"This is going to feel so good." Malcolm announced. Nick heard the sound of the other mans zipper being undone. Nick began to panic. His mind screaming out in protest words that wouldn't come out his mouth.

Malcolm's pants were heard falling to the floor. The cold touch of the other man's penis on his cheeks was too much. Nick retched, coughing up some of the drugged blood he had been given earlier.

He heard Malcolm pull on a condom. Nick wanted to know why that was needed, but his silent question was answered when a little of the holy water was sprayed onto the condom. Nick felt tears prick his eyes. This couldn't happen to him. LaCroix couldn't even get him out of this mess. His tears fell and mingled with his vomit. He felt a shame so deep, all he wanted to do was die.

A searing pain was suddenly felt inside him and Nick screamed so loud and high that all Toronto could probably hear. His body had already been cut at his opening, so he had already been hurting there. Now, with Malcolm inside him, his whole insides were burning with both the holy water and the man's large cock inside him.

Nick screamed again and again, every thrust going deeper inside him. By the time the thrusts had picked up more speed, Nick was silent. The pain had gotten too intense to scream any more. Malcolm was breathing hard now, his body slamming itself further and further into Nick's now torn up insides.

With an animalistic growl, Malcolm buried his fangs into Nick’s bared neck. That last thrust into him was the worst thing Nick had ever felt. It not only seared his insides, but his soul as well. Nick was sure he was going to die when he felt his blood being forcefully taken. Rape in it's own way. He couldn't stop himself shaking. All of a sudden nothing really mattered anymore to Nick, not even the rape that had just occurred to him. He wasn't going to be rescued, he was going to die.

The shackles binding him to the table were taken off. Even if Nick wanted to run, he couldn't. His legs felt like jelly and any small movement hurt. Malcolm lifted one of Nick's legs off the ground, putting Nick's very dirty pants back on him. The soft fabric of silk hurt on his tortured body.

He groaned in pain. His shirt followed his pants. He was picked up and flung over one of Malcolm's shoulders. Malcolm fondling Nick's tortured body all the way back to his cell. Nick was dumped unceremoniously onto the bed nearest the door. The bed sheets were put over him. The light was turned off.

Nick didn't move once, didn't even whimper. He just stared at where the other bed was, wishing Liam was still there to talk to. Hopefully the Hunter went to get LaCroix. Please let someone come and rescue him.

Nick didn't want to die alone. He would terribly miss Natalie and Schanke would have to 'break in' a new partner. Liam would go back home to Ireland and probably forget all about him. The only person he wanted with him right now, however, was LaCroix.
