I have heard so many Interpretation of who the "Beast" is in Revelation, many claim that it was Nebuchadnezzar, Antiochus, Pompey, Nero, Titus, Mohammed and EVEN Paul believe it or not! All of which are wrong by what the Spirit teaches me. This is going to take you some time. Don't even start it till you can devote an hour or more on it, as it's going to get in-depth and bring clarity by its ending. Clarity to what? Clarity to the answer of course. The question? Who is the beast? Aka "The antichrist", which in itself is a misreading of the word, for there are many antichrists. Now the best way to start out on understanding any subject from the bible is of course to pray on it, asking the Father to send you the Holy Spirit of Truth. So see you in a bit. Don't forget to "Included me"Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 15. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Here our Lord Jesus Christ tells us first off, that before the abomination of desolation, His words will be preached to all nations. Now the beast sets up the abomination of desolation, as will be shown in a bit. Second Christ tells us to look to the book of Daniel, and what is written there, about the abomination of desolation, knocking of anyone on the list before Christ and His word going out to "ALL" nations.
Daniel 11:24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
11:25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
11:26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
11:27 And both of these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
11:28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
11:29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
11:30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
Here clearly shows,
#1 That the beast "shall enter peaceably"
#2 That he will go to Jerusalem, after a tremendous battle, will leave, but then will come back to fight this king of the south again. And win!
#3 "shall pollute the sanctuary of strength [The Jewish Temple] and shall take away the daily sacrifice" Which means there MUST be the temple.
#4 Also that he sets something up in the temple. As shown below. Now your about to go on the mind trip of your life, Lord of the Rings is Disneyland compared to what is in store for this earth and mankind.
Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. [1290 days]
12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. [1335 days]
Mathew 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
Some things to point out on this quest for the answer "who is the beast" and knowing the signs of the beast.
- There "again" the word shows what he will do, he sets up the "abomination that maketh desolate" in the temple... takes away the jewish sacrifice, then gives a time table for the days "a thousand three hundred and five and thirty days" now some claim that these 1335 days mean years but Jesus made it clear that the generation that sees all these things come to pass, will NOT pass away, meaning the people that witness this, will see the end times.
Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. [1290 days]
- Some believe that this means, that from the time the daily sacrifice is taken away "until" the abomination that maketh desolation is set up, will be 1290 days. Which well could be but I doubt it as Revelation talks of him having powers from Satan 42 months, and in that time he sets up this image. 42 months = 1260. I believe he takes the sacrifice away and 30 days later sets up the abomination that maketh desolation. If He takes the temple sacrife away, and in 30 days sets up the abomination that maketh desolation in the temple it would = 1290 for temple sacrifice to be "away" and abomination that causes desolation = 1260 = 42 months as shown in revelation. Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
- Dan 12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. [1335 days]
Some wish to know why there is a 45 day difference there from the 1290 days the sacrifice. But your about to see that this abomination that maketh desolation is going to change into something else. Also remember Christ comes back, spending some time in Jerusalem with the 144,000 talked of in Revelation. Then the beast comes against Christ and Jerusalem.
- Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
Showing Christ Himself stands on the mount. It is not clear if the temple is still there or not. Perhaps Christ leveled it? Some say Mount Sion or Zion isn't the Holy Mount, and this is true, but it is the mount the Holy Mound is on. Also note that the temple will be destroyed, surely in this event below.
- Zechariah 14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
So keep them points in mind and lets get back to the beast's signs.
This is showing that the abomination that maketh desolation ends the tribulation years, the last three and a half to be the worse times the world has ever seen. So when they say the beast has already come, as alot hold nero as the beast, they simply are wrong.
Mathew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
So right there clearly shows that right after the tribulation Christ comes back, fact thats why He comes back, man has all but desolated the earth!
Mathew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
This guys is going to be able to pull off "abiogenesis." He is going to bring life to an inanimate object. And this object is going to cause wars and in the end... well you have come this far, lets just break it all down.
Revelation 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
There we have two men, to witnesses of God. Prophets. In Jerusalem, and proclaiming the good news of God. Also note the days... thousand two hundred and threescore days... 2260 days. Daniel 11:12 there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 2290 days. Now some believe that this 2260 is the last part of the tribulation... and while the abomination that causes desolation is set up. I believe this as well, BUT it could be the first 3-1/2 years of the tribulation, but one thing is clear, the world will know who they are.
11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
They will be given great powers from the Lord, and will proclaim testimony given to them.
11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
And the beast shall kill them for it. He couldn't stand the truth. Yet how could this man kill those sent from Father?
11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
And many will know them. And see them in the streets. Everyone is looking for the beast. I myself believe as a child of God, it is these men we should be looking for. They are men of God, sent to witness. They key is to recognize them.
11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11:11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Whoaaaa, Check that out!!! ANYONE tell you the beast has come, point this out to them, if they don't want to listen, tell them again... if they still don't want to listen, reject them as the word tells you.
11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
Right there it shows that even after this time, and during the reign of the beast, some men will turn to God.
11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
11:16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
11:17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
There showing some awesome insights and happenings infront of Father's throne.
11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
And the people are mad. Why? God is coming and they know it. Also note the earth is all but destroyed. Desolation is happened for the most part.
11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
And Father isn't to happy with them, they know He "is" by this time, and reject Him, and have had thier evil ways. Now on to chapter 13, chapter 11 was about the two witnesses, and the beast was in it, but 13 is about this beast to come.Now as I said before, we should be seeking the two witnesses sent from God, but we are also given signs to look for about the beast as well, here we start with this same beast, but a new vision of him. This vision shows his other doings, most while the two witnesses are still here.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
The dragon? Who is the dragon? This is one reason that it will be the beast that kills the two witness. Remember in chapter eleven? The beast is already here before Satan has given him powers. He loses wars, gets killed, was and yet is not, and yet is. Then Satan gives him powers do all of Satan's will, and is liken with Satan to have come out of the bottomless pit, yet Daniel 7:8 says He came out of the sea too and {Rev 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.} he has the power to do so, given to him by the "dragon". Before this beast, the witnesses had great power to {Rev11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.} And the beast was losing wars, now he is back in Jerusalem and this dragon came and gave him power. And {Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.} So I believe he had to have his full powers by Satan to kill the two. Heck before that he was run out of the Holy Land. But how does he get his power before Satan steps onto the scene? And how can he be both from the sea and from the pit? {Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.}This Apollyon?
Strong's Concordance: Abaddwn // Abaddon // ab-ad-dohn' // Abaddon = "destruction" 1) ruin 2) destruction 3) the place of destruction 4) the name of the angel-prince of the infernal regions, the minister of death and the author of havoc on the earth I believe will take possession of the beast in part, and the beast, having the means of the greatest army will set out to desolate the world. But the beast will not me Satan. Apollyon and Satan are of one mind, yes but different entities. Some want to say the dragon is this or that, but the dragon is Satan and don't let anyone tell you different. The dragon was talked of in chapter 12.
12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
So Satan is thrown from heaven, and gives power to this beast. Now some will say but Satan can't be in heaven, he was thrown from heaven along time ago. Well in Job he {Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.} Then he {Job 1:12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.} But thats another subject, and Satan could well have no place in heaven at all now. But! {Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.} That seems to point to Satan up there somewhere accusing brothers in Christ at sometime. But whether he is cast down before Adam, before Christ, right after Christ, or about to be matters not, He was or is going to be cast out complete and give power to the beast, and it seems to me it is after the beast has been in his first battle with the King of the South that was talked of in Daniel. Now he is back at Jerusalem, and has Satan backing him. A side note, notice how God didn't even get into it with Satan, but sent Michael to handle it. Now back to the beast. Picking up where we left off.
Revelation 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
Now see there, like in Daniel, no one is able to stand before him. Also note that the wound could have come from a battle, or assassination. But he comes in at first as a peaceful man to begin with, perhaps the UN? EuropePac? Vatican? The USA President? [Daniel 11:24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province;]=[1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.] By those I get that there will a peace declared, most likely between the State of Israel and Islam.
13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
Right there it makes it clear, he is cursing God, showing all that follow him what he is about.
Revelation 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
There it is showing again that Christians are still on the earth during his reign of power and tribulation. Some believe the rature happens before hand, and though a few verses might hint to that, it's clear that Christians are still on this earth while the beast takes power. Perhaps new converts after the rapture?
13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
There again showing that there are still saints on the earth. Or it would say "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him" Nor would Father send us all these signs if there weren't some Christians left to look for them.
13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Now here is the second beast, known to most as the "false prophet" This beast has power and before the image is set up in the temple.
13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
This 'dude' is going to spellbound the earth, but note he has to be subject to the beast. And it is him that first talks of this "image" Some want to say its a clone but clones take years to raise and also mankind as a whole seems to take part in making it. The original beast tries to render absolute political authority. The second beast controls religious power, which is needed for absolute political authority, which in turn renders absolute military AND judicial authority. The first beast makes sure the second beast controls that religious authority. Subsequent he is also referred to as the false prophet. (Revelation 16:13, Revelation 19:20, Revelation 20:10). The two horns on his head seem to denote his witness for the beast, as the two witness of God, that were slain for their testimony. He will perform great wonders, and proclaim the beast is God. What is happening here is the unholy trinity is being set up on earth.
13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Now there the image of the beast takes life. I lean toward it being Satan, why, well note the worship is taken away from the beast and given to the abomination of desolation, the image now has LIFE! These verses below show it as well, and bluntly
2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
There is the doctrine that Judas is reincarnated as the Beast of course, and also the doctrine that the image of the best in Satan incarnated . . .
John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
Only twice is that title "son of perdition" used, and you just read them both. Also the fact that Satan entered Judas is another factor in that doctrine, as is that the Beast is to be Jewish by most scholars accounts.
Here the beast sits in the temple and proclaims he is God and to be worshipped. Satan gave power to the Beast, then to the False Prophet, all to lead up to this, for the Beast will transform this power by worship, to the Image. Its a going to be a shocker to the world, and they will marvel at all three.
Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Mount of the congregation is of course the temple mount, and as you see Satan is cast from heaven so now he sits in Gods temple on earth. Some want to claim this isnt even about Satan, Isa 14, if you feel that as well click this and go down to THE ISAIAH CHAPTER 14 CONTROVERSY.
Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Again showing a change, the world is at awe with him. He will declare many false things, perhaps aliens will be explained. He might delcare he is from the other end of the universe and there is no god as we know him. He'll have all the answers. He might declare he is the Messiah come the first time, or Christ our Lord the second coming. He might declare he is God our Father in heaven. God isn't going to give all the details away, lest the ones the word isn't made for understand it. Read 2thess chap. 2 on details of why he does that. Now back to Rev 13.
13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Now there, them verses bring alot of misunderstandings or out and out lies to deceive. Some claim this won't be a real mark, but just an invisible mark on people, which is a falsehood. "to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads" it gives to locations, if it was some kind of mystical mark there wouldn't be need of two locations number one, number two, you have to have the mark to do commerce, so people must be able to see it, or make sure its there to sell or buy anything by these new laws the beast will prescribe.
I believe it will mean he will be the richest, wisest, most powerful man the world has ever seen since Solomon, and this will be the sign. The answer is in the word, and perhaps the Holy Spirit hasn't shown it to me yet, but I myself believe it is in reference to the amount of gold or money he controls, his awesome powers, armies, knowlegde and miracles. Will the number 666 be the mark, perhaps, but clearly it is "his" number. Only one other time is it used in the word and it pointed to the richest man in the world, the man God gave wisdom to more then anyone else. "Solomon". The beast will be the wealthiest man in the world AND the man Satan gives his wisdom to. Some want to play the bible code game, I can make alot of names fit the "Greek" and "Hebrew" letter/number system. And here is what happens to those that follow him.
Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Back to the beast, the false prophet and satan. This is why some refer to them as the unholy trinity.
Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Then more vials of wrath for thoses that love evil and hate God. Now some say these coming verses are about the Catholic Church.
Revelation 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
Note this is talking about a institution or place, as it refers to "her" and she sits on many waters. Spread out amoung the world.
The kings of the earth are in league, and note it uses "wine" as a means for "her" to spread "her" fornication. How many priest you think gave "wine" to the very childern they molested while "she" covered it up?"

I'm positive the RCC has killed more then one "saint" and also note this, the way John sees it, she is doing good things. He is admiring "her". MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT.
Okay, so "she" is riding or getting her power from the beast, some beleive because "she" has no army to call her own. And note if your name is written in the book of life, you wont be fooled. Also "behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is" seems to point at his death and his absence and then rise again. God is trying to get a point across. {Revelation 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.} {Rev. 13:12 ...therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.} And the point is, that this head wound is to a man, and he was killed and then came back! The World will marvel after him, then he does the unthinkable and bring a image to life! And one of the things he will use is the Roman Catholic Church, some believe.

http://encarta.msn.com/ Vatican city is the only place on earth that seems to fit the bill, as its a City, a country, a institution "church", and part of Rome, the city of seven hills. Also it is the richest governing body on earth! And it is a city.
Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
Catholics even point to Peter as writing this from Rome. It is their claim he was the first Pope. They themselves say this verse is about Rome.
1 Peter 5:13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
Also note even the Church itself claims this. "It is within the city of Rome, called the city of seven hills, that the entire area of Vatican State proper is now confined" (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Thomas Nelson, 1976, s.v. "Rome").
Now were onto the ten Kings. You will note that it talks of 7 kings, then the beast being the 8th, but stops there. Some ponder at this their whole life, BUT remember the FALSE prophet and the image to come AFTER the beast hits the seen. Now some believe the image is Satan in the flesh come alive, and he will proclaim he is the God, and who wouldn't believe him, lest they study the word and search the Spirit of God through prayer. Some claim the beast will be a pope, and some the false prophet. I lean toward it being the false prophet, because many trust the pope, and second, do just what the pope says. The false prophet pumps people up to worship the beast and the image of the beast, and then the beast and the false prohpet turn it over to the Image come alive. Heck the Hindus will love that! So will alot of Catholics, they think that statues of Mary cry and bleed and they flock to them. Heh the Scientist will be spellbound, this guys is going to have all the answers. The Hindus, they claim they have statues of cows and such that drink milk right now. And the Muslims? That King of the South. The army beaten, they will follow. So anyone of the three could be "a" Pope, but it matters not because they are all three of one mind.
There it is again! When Father harps on something it means he is trying to get us to study, to look into what He is trying to get across without given the perfect signs. Read matt 13:10-16 and 2thess 2:1-12 amoung other places to find out why.
Short lived Kingdoms, perhaps the UN, Opec, EuroNation, a different body? The all could fit the bill because their numbers now don't have to be their numbers in the coming years, some members will drop, some will join.
Christ stands Tall, His 144,000 by His side, it seems that He doesnt do them in right then though, and now watch this, they turn.
Now there, it seems "The Whore" had more power then anyone ever before, and Rome use to instate Kings, contols country leaders and the beast controlls her, but now he has turned on her. Also note its corresponding with chapter 14. Christ is on the scene, the beast comes at him, and he is stopped, and the 10 beast seem to blame the whore and go after her. Then comes the fall of the city, the great "Whore" Perhaps some turned to God from the RRC and this set the beast and kings into a wrath quest. Note 47:8-9
Isaiah 47:8 Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
47:9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
I and Others believe this is a dual prophetic chapter... as it cannot be just about the old "Babylon" as it does not meet the demise talked of in versea 9, 11 and 14. Not it does fit Revelation 18:19
Revelation 18:19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
Now Saddam Hussein as you well know is rebuilding Babylon, and some believe this is the new Babylon talked of in Revelation and with God in control of "ALL" major events in Revelation this well could be true and "Babylon" may represent "Islam" as a whole in the end days, but I doubt it as it doesn't seem to fulfill many verses in the Bible, but with God one never can say "for sure" when it comes to end times. I myself believe its the RCC but not the church we have today, as many changes will take place... and note God calls His people out of Babylon...
Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Islam and Muslims by the bible are are antichrist;
1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Now I bring this new babylon up, in the topic of "Who is the beast" because of his so many dealings with this "Great Whore" And its clear the beast uses "babylon" BUT in no way is "babylon" the beast... for he is a man. Now if you read Daniel chapter 9, you will note that all this falls in line with Daniel 9; Which I leave you to study on your own. Also there are many links on many different takes of this beast, I haven't read them all, but leave them for you to read on your own, that you may have all sides of this topic.
But before then lets recap what my beliefs are by the bible as presented to me.
- The beast will enter the scene peacefully. Daniel 11:21, Daniel 11:24, 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
- The beast will usher in the tribulation. Mat 24:14-21, Mark 13:14
- The beast will fight against the "king of the south". Daniel 11:11
- The beast will leave the region of Israel after losing a battle with the King of the south, but will return anew. With more power then before. Daniel 11:5, Daniel 11:9, Daniel 11:11, Daniel 11:14, Daniel 11:25, Daniel 11:40
- The tribulation will be the worse time the world will ever see. And is BEOFRE the return of Christ. Mat 24:14-21 Mark 13:14-19 Luke 21:24
- The beast will set up the "abomination of desolation" up in the jewish temple and take away the daily sacrifice. Daniel 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary was cast down. Daniel 8:12, Daniel 8:13, Daniel 11:31, Daniel 12:11
- From the time the daily sacrifice to the end day is a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
- The beast will be wounded in the head, and the wound will be deadly. Rev 13:4, Rev 13:12.
- A false prophet will come and convince may to worship the beast. Rev 13:11-13
- The False prophet will get the world to make and accept a image of the beast. Rev 13:14
- The image will come to life Rev 13:14
- The false prophet and the beast will demand that the world now worship the image. Rev 13:14
- A hard impasses people have a hard time coming to grips with, this abomination that maketh desolation, this image will take life. It is clear, and not metaphoric in nature because of the explicitness of the wording. Rev.13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. Now look at Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. and 2Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. And Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. All show me that the temple must be there, and that Satan Himself is the abomination that maketh desolation set up by the Beast and the false prophet, and the Beast goes about doing the abomination that maketh desolation's bidding on earth. How long Satan sits in the temple, is not clear, how long the sacrifices is taken away till the end, is, to me. Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. [1290 days] 12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. [1335 days]
All these things fall under our Lord Christ's answer to the 12 chosen, and to you, about the signs of His coming, and there are many more which shall be brought up here, time permitting.
But we must remember that all scripture interpretation is just that, one group or mans perspective view, and again, say I, I'm not dogmatic about any of these views, for I know Father and His mysteries cannot be comprehended in full. But there are certain verses, after study, one must always keep in mind, and Matt chapter 24 and corresponding chapters in Mark and Luke , show certain signs must be fulfilled, I believe I have shed light on some of these signs, and if anyone has a view differing, I and all open to examining and discussing both views.
