Merriam-Webster Online DictionaryTHAT'S what a fundie is, and why you'll sometimes see me use ElmerFundie as a nick. You can bring me any other definitions you want, and you can claim to believe a Fundie is a mean spirited rich white republican that is hell bent on war and bloodshed as well, until you run into someone like me (Not rich, not mean spirited and not hell bent on war) that knows what a true fundamentalist is. How can I make that claim? Because I know the fundamental teachings of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Do you? Let's review shall we.Mark 12:28-34 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.Okay now Jesus made it clear what the two most fundamental principle teachings of His doctrine, His "Christ's doctrine is of course Gods will." doctrine says to "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." See anyone not trying their best to follow Christ and His doctrine as yourself if that person is even Christian at all, or better yet, put them to the test!
Mat 5:44-46 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. That is what a true fundamental believer in the doctrine of Christ believes, it's right there before your eyes, its a love all tenet and anyone that has added to the meaning of it, will answer for it come the Day of the Lord.
The first and foremost Christian Fundamentalist that comes to my mind, outside of the bible would be Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Baptist" Second is Mother Teresa "Catholic". . . yes thats right, did she follow the fundamental teachings of Christ? THEN she was a fundie! Another one is Joel Osteen of the Lakewood Church in Houston Texas, if you ever get to hear this man, you'll understand what a true fundie is, AND He is from the "Assemblies of God" and note their own statement of faith says "Statement of Fundamental Truths" and "16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God,then goes on to list them. . . now they claim to be Fundamentals, watch Joel Osteen and see for yourself what a true Fundie is.
