Brahma
The Great Unkown formed a seed from which grew Brahma. He was called Narayana 'he who dwells in the waters'.
Brahma has four faces and as being dressed in white, riding a swan or a peacock or sitting on a lotus.
His consort Sarasvati was created from his side and he saw that she was beautiful and she stepped to one side to avoid his gaze. Immediately he developed another face on that side of his head to look at her. This happened again and again until a fifth face appeared on the top of Brahma's head (this was later destroyed by the heat of Siva's third eye).
