Wednesday 22.5.02 | It's all over. Last exam went pretty well - definitely a pass, but not a dazzling one. But then on the other hand, it wasn't anything to shit bricks about either, so I'm not too bothered; the relief of not having to give a crap about discontinuous affixes or inflectional morphemes or the German spelling reform or whatever the fuck I dribbled on about is enough to make me feel good, however I've done. And I'm just off to book my holiday, on that note. :-) Admittedly, we don't know precisely where we're going yet (in that it's probably going to be in Europe - that's all we can afford) but other than that, we're flexible. More tomorrow. Thursday 23.5.02 ...Yes, we still don't know precisely where we're going, yet (whittled down to Europe, now...) but it's probably going to be Corfu. Can't wait already. Anyway, went out to a random funfair with Claire and Swy in Turnpike Lane last night. Was pretty tame stuff until the end, when we decided to go into an inexplicably random ride-thing where you stand in a large tube lined with carpet and it turns just fast enough to make you go arse over tits over and over again. Still, we all enjoyed it, even if the world spun for the next couple of hours (made bus journey more interesting, I can tell you) and also gave me VPL for the first time. An evening for discovery, then. Talking of unchartered waters, it was a year ago today I started writing this site. Two things feak me about this slightly - one that it's gone so fast, and two, that anyone still reads it, given the amount of crap I write on here. Actually, three - that I'm still writing it, given the amount of crap on here. Oh well, whatever pulls your strings, I guess... Friday 24.5.02 Existing on approximately half an hours' sleep after staying in Kings' Union until three and getting up, although admittedly slightly later than planned, early enough to belt back down there for Laura's advanced-performance recital, which was certainly worth the sleep-deprivation. I now have to make it through work and -supposedly- EasyGays at UCL, which I think might not happen. More tomorrow when coherency returns. Ooh, but before I go - I'm off to Corfu in 3 weeks! Yippee! Saturday 25.5.02 Coherency vaguely returned, still think there was a strong case of me just sleeping in the gutter outside Kings on Thursday night and going to the recital, but anyway. Doing a lovely late-shift (or shit as I have just written) today which means I got a lie-in and will still be slaving at nine. Mind you, mustn't bitch - have applied for a store where they close at 11, giving me the sort-of 'Shit, can't be arsed to work here why am I applying?' feeling and then the inevitable lack of money answer. Aren't life's little symbioses wonderful? Monday 27.5.02 I did nothing yesterday, and having had a quiet day, I decided to have a quiet evening (especially since Claire and Swy went to see Star Wars) and get an early night. Dumbly, I left a note on Claire's door saying I wasn't really tired, and might be up when she got back. Dumbly, I answered the door when she knocked, even though in bed. Dumbly, I didn't hang on to my duvet, which she then proceeded to steal and run all the way down to the basement with. I lay there for a minute, wondering if I could survive a night in bed without said duvet, decided I couldn't and went down after her, where I was made to sit and watch Beaches until 2 in the morning. Yes, it's a good film. Yes, I enjoyed it. Yes, she did bring me toast and honey (which I dribbled on my duvet, and which is now dodgily sticky), yes, I slept well when I finally went back to bed for the second time, yes I do love her to bits. But my goodness me did I despise her for that few minutes when she ran off. :-) So anyway, not content with just that, she has just been sitting on my bed (and therefore said duvet) all afternoon, drinking water and eating tomato-flavoured crisps. The combination of the two seem to have got on the duvet, which is, unfortunately, predominantly white. Which now means it looks like I have been surfing the crimson tide in bed, so to speak. Lovely. Love you, Claire, honest I do...
