Indeed, this is my all-singing, all-dancing, rather sombre and smart new design. I don't deny for one second that it's entirely stolen
from someone else's website (who, with a little luck, will never see this one) and I'm thinking about changing a few of the colours around,
but this is how things are going to be for the next few months at least. Apologies for the patent lack of presence of my blog this week - I wasn't
actually planning to revamp, but when I mistakenly deleted my index file the other day (oops, says Mark) I decided that it was an ideal time to
have a change-around. This is a very basic template for things which I shall be adding soon enough, so please excuse me if you find you're unable
to get to the bits you want (so to speak) over the next few weeks. But hopefully, by the time it's all finished, it'll be smarter, sleeker, funnier, wiser and
the solution to the problems of the world to boot. Just to keep you amused for now, I'm putting up something which I stuck up here before proceeding to
wipe it out, specifically something I saw in the Guardian the other day - the Gulf War drinking game.
No offence meant, even though it is in exceptionally bad taste... :-)
drink when:
iraq uses weapons it claims not to have
the united states uses weapons it won't allow iraq to have
saddam uses a scud he doesn't have
Dominique de Villepin reminds you of that annoying rich kid in high school
anybody 'warns' anybody
north korea does something the united states accused iraq of doing
al-jazeera is referred to as the "arab cnn"
finish your drink if cnn is referred to as the "american al-jazeera"
bush mispronounces the word 'nuclear'
if you can't find kuwait, bahrain, qatar, oman, or the united arab emirates on a map
Colin Powell looks exasperated whilst at the UN Security Council
x2 if its because a country you didnt know exists is commenting on the war
tariq aziz's glasses get larger
God picks a side
Someone on TV says something contradictory to what is on their news ticker
an initial news report turns out to be false
x2 if the anchor openly admits it

Off to Oxford for the weekend, so nothing going to be doing around here, both in terms of content and development. Have just discovered that I am meant to be in Berlin at the moment, on an intensive language course, though - said course started about a week ago. Oops.
Monday 31.3.03
Things really aren't happening in terms of reconstruction on here at the moment, so sorry about the permanent Blue Peter format. It shall happen in the next
two weeks when I'm less busy and less lazy. Quite a cool weekend in the end - crap friend cancelled my Saturday-night trip to Oxford so I went on Sunday morning
instead and met up with some (other) friends in the sunshine. I have to hand it to Oxford - it's a beautiful city. Shame it's crammed so full of stuff-shirt flabby half-baked academic
wankers, but these things happen to the nicest of places. Managed to get resolutely beaten this morning in my first game of tennis for about 2 years (stop laughing, I do exercise,
just not very often) and tne came home and, to my horror, found that, if I crouch down in a certain way, I can feel the remnants of my tail-bone from where my ape-ancestors
had it millions of years ago. I know they say that we're closer to them than we thought, but that's ridiculous. Off out on piss tonight to say goodbye to a few people before the big
move to Berlin on Wednesday, so tomorrow just isn't going to happen most probably. Oh well. More soon.

I hate packing.
So yes, all systems go for the big off tomorrow. When I say this, I mean that all systems will be go when I can actually be arsed to get the suitcase down, consider what needs to go in it, put it in, preferably in some sort of order, tidy up my room, sort my life out blah blah blah all of which I'm trying to put off as much as possible. It's not because I don't want to go, but I just hate all the shitty preparation. Said preparation also involved going out last night and getting trashed with Jo and Tom, and waking up this morning, hungover and suitably penitent about it all. Next post from Berlin...
